RP:Kasyr Fails his Diplomacy Check

Old Icey Bridge

The path here leads onto an old broken bridge, as you step along the path you are careful not to slip as several loose stones fall to the surface below. You glance to your west you see several old broken down structures, you will have to get closer to see what they may be. You may head east back towards the hunting grounds from here as well.

Satoshi is in the midst of a debate so heated it threatens to melt the bridge she stands on, or rather the pillar of ice conjured beneath the feline to bring her to eye level with the hefty giant she's facing off with. Oddly enough, of the two it's Satoshi who's in better control of her temper. Or at least she's keeping her temper from sight, letting it build and seethe silently as she's near endlessly bellowed at by the red-faced frost giant. Dagur, a faithful Aramoth-follower and the youngest of the five voices on the Frostmaw Council, is not a patient or soft-spoken man by any means and best resembles a raging bull in giant's clothing. he likewise possesses a loathing for the 'Snow Maiden' that rivals the adoration of the other Frostmaw citizens. Whatever his demands are--fairly incoherent through his exaggerated shouting and accent--Satoshi's not heeding them, answering with no more than a slight shake of her head and a firm, "No." The veritable tantrum, complete with more shouting and even childish stomping, the councilor throws at that response coaxes a smile from Satoshi. She's obviously enjoying driving Dagur mad. Or imagining creative ways to kill him. Either way, she doesn't have the most innocent of smiles on her face currently.

Kasyr shuffles into the area, seeming to be oblivious to the chunk of "The Sign" (which the hybrid always ignore) which is currently stuck around his foot. Really, it's just like the tiefling to put his foot through something and not notice- but then, when theres someone busy shouting at his wife, it's no wonder the little things slip into the cracks. So it goes- the hybrid simply fishing into his pockets for a cigarette as he casually made his way to the pair, "Er, I'm not intruding am I? Far be it from moi to intrude upon your inner desire to become an icicle et tout cela."

Satoshi and Dagur alike look toward the tiefling with surprise--and a glimmer of amusement from the magus upon spotting the chunk of sign he's sporting. "Not intruding at all, dove. Dagger, here-" ... "~Dagur!~" ... "Same difference, was so kindly informing me of what he thinks of me. The sailors of Rynvale would be awed by his way with words~." To say Satoshi's enjoying the 'polite taunting' is a gross understatement, and it's done entirely at the expense of the giant's temper. Dagur's quickly reaching his breaking point, massive hand balling into fists as he shifts his glare from Satoshi to Kasyr. If looks could kill, there'd be two less vampires in Hollow then and there. "Outsiders don't belong here. Be gone. And take -her- with you," is all the giant snarls out from between clenched teeth.

Satoshi said, "Tch. Rude."

Kasyr finally gets ahold of a cigarette, if only to chomp down on it and clap his hands in front of himself, "...Oh. Really? Es there some sort of popularity contest? ...Since when is what he thinks about you supposed to be important, ma chere reine? ...Dearest queen." Smiling wryly, the tiefling takes a few moments to rub his hands together, before simply drawing his left hand up and snapping his fingers beneath the end of the cigarette. And Just like that a wisp of flame manifests, lingering lazily at the end of the cigarette. Taking a moment to draw in a puff, the hybrid can't help but shrug, before readjusting the backpack on his shoulders, "Oh, et before you get any ideas. I don't listen or care about what tu say, either. If my foot going through that stupid sign didn't give tu the hint." ...So apparently the hybrid -is- aware of his ankle ornament.

Kasyr said to Satoshi, "I meant...not care what he says. I'm more than happy to listen to vous...et such."

Satoshi rocks back on her heels with a shrill whistle as Dagur rounds on the tiefling, his voice once more rising to a volume akin to that of an avalanche. "You dare vandalise the property of Frostmaw?! A structure put there by Aramoth's chosen himself?! And this," a sharply jabbed finger from the giant nearly topples Satoshi from her perch, "is no queen of mine. A fleabitten stray parading around in ill-gotten royal garb and nothing more." Satoshi looks particularly insulted at this remark, almost even hurt as she glances down and plucks worriedly at herself in search of these supposed fleas. So Dagur's managed to score a point and rattle the feline's composure slightly... not that he's remotely composed himself.

Satoshi said, "..I don't have fleas..."

Kasyr shifts to one side, the pack now only balanced on one shoulder as he proceeded to gesture from his foot to the giant, "...I can stick this structure right up your ass, if it's that sacred to vous. Hell, if you don't apologise to your leader in a second, I can break your legs et feed you that damn sign, one splinter at a time." It's an odd juxtaposition from the hybrid, his voice coming out in what could have been called a cheerful sing-song....were it not for the predatorial look he wore, "...All I see, is the lady of frostmaw, and a useless fool full of bluster and himself. So, unless you have moi at some sort of a disadvantage, I'm going to be daring a whole lot more in a few moments, monsieur."

Satoshi's gleeful expression for Kasyr's words falters when Dagur goes suddenly silent and... calm. The suddenly rageless frost giant takes deep, steadying breaths for a long moment, eyes closed as if in meditation. It's this sudden shift that has Satoshi wary as she creeps a step closer to peer at Dagur, but 'wary' doesn't quite prove enough when the giant's hand abruptly shoots out and clamps around her with far from gentle force. "Do I have you at a disadvantage now, outsider?" Dagur drawls in a disturbing casual voice, his face unreadable, holding the squirming feline high as he extends his arm out over the edge of the bridge. Satoshi's fangs sinking into his finger does little more than to earn her a squeeze of discouragement. The giant's in his element now, mind lucid and sharp as he works out methods to be rid of 'his queen' and frame the tiefling for it. Frostmaw's citizens have been duped before, he can do it again.

Kasyr s' expression undergoes a rapid set of changes, from worry, to anger, and then finally returning to that predatorial look from before- only far more...feral looking. "...You're aware, that if you threw her off..or killed her, I'd have no qualm with cracking this bridge et sending us all plummeting to the bottom, correct? ...Your race es hearty, but they die all the same when dropped from high enough. Mangled, broken, bleeding et helpless. Es that how you want to go?" It is as though the air about the tiefling has gone electric, an palpable tension emanating from the hybrid as he stared at the giant. ...What Satoshi might notice is the fact that the electric feeling was perhaps a bit more than just something in the air- as a few stray sparks danced about the hybrids arms.

Satoshi wholeheartedly hates her current predicament. Attempt to cast a spell to get her out of this mess and hope Dagur somehow doesn't catch it in time? Wait and hope he doesn't drop her off the bridge before Kasyr can make a move? Spying the sparks accumulating around the tiefling provides her the answer, despite a deep rooted wish that Empera -wasn't- the answer. Wait and hope it is. And Dagur seems willing to wait as well, enjoying baiting the hybrid on much like he'd been by Satoshi earlier. "I would be rid of both interlopers in one move then, and Aramoth will bless me for sacrificing myself in his honor. Thus, you're still at a disadvantage, aren't you?" As if to further taunt Kasyr, the giant shifts his hold on Satoshi then, pinning the hood of her coat between two fingers to dangle her over the void not unlike a kitten by the scruff.

Kasyr can't help but burst into a grin, teeth drawn back and gnashing at the cigarette that had been balanced upon his lips, "You don't know, do you? You don't know at all! You'd be rid of her, But I'm Ashen. Daedrias Blade. The one that dies and keeps coming back. Haven't tu heard of me? All you'd succeed in doing es killing her...et leaving me to watch over your people...." Lips draw back even more, as the hybrids left arm extends upwards, as though seeking an audience with the heavens. That the right hand has moved behind the tieflings back to subtly poke at his backpack so it could begin sliding off was a different matter entirely. "Et make sure they get wiped out in the first major war I can precipitate, you snivelling piece of-" It's at those words that a blinding light erupts from the hybrid, briefly filling the area with a blinding light, before it snaps back to the hybrid and takes shape about the hybrids arms. It's just as the feline fears too, Empera's twin vambraces manifesting themselves into existance- right before the wires lash forward. Were Dagur not quick enough, or still reeling from the flash- it was altogether likely the metallic strands would wind their way around his arms. Which would lead right into the hybrid promptly yanking them back to himself and severing the giants arms apart in dozens of uneven somewhat cubic pieces, "Satoshi. Cast!"

Satoshi is in the process of wriggling out of her coat when she feels Dagur falter, the giant's calculated plotting hitting a large obstacle with the tiefling's proclamation. Just moments ago he'd felt superior in this confrontation, certain he could remove these outsiders from the picture for good and reestablish the original order in Frostmaw. But now... the frost giant doesn't even get to finish his thought as two things happen simultaneously: he's blinded by a flare of inexplicable light, and the weight of the feline in his hand is suddenly gone. Followed quickly by the weight of his own arms. A fact he can't help noting with a peculiar, detached air, the pain unregistered as he bellows his outrage and charges headlong at Kasyr, heedless of further injury as he desires nothing more than to crush the tiefling. And while Dagur's on his collision course with the hybrid, Satoshi's in the process of trying to both disentangle herself from her coat and work up some sort of saving gace spell during her plummet, but neither seems to be going in her favor... aside from the whoel gravity thing. That never fails.

Riss was never far away, not from Kasyr, not from trouble, and just maybe that's what led him here. Hands were stuffed in the pockets an overly-large trenchcoat, and the cinders from a smoldering cigarette dropped to the white-sheeted ground as he placed foot upon the Frozen Bridge; that's where he saw her, falling to the ground as his brother fought off a behemoth. "Typical," left his mouth as he took the last drag of his smoke and tossed it to the side. Blink, and he was gone, a blur of white mixed within the shield of snow that barraged Frostmaw so often, sound of the flailing tail of his jacket being the only clue to his location; and then-- he was there-- in the air, arms outreached towards the plummeting kitten, snagging her a bit his way so they could both fall harshly to the ice-covered bridge beneath them. So much for style. "Aren't you two ever careful?"

Kasyr s' features simply continue to distort, teeth seeming to grow more angular as eyes became narrow slits. Beyond that, however, the tiefling remains relatively still- enough that his backpack finally slides it's way from his arm and crashes to the ground. The development was hardly a hindrance, just one facet of his thought processing occuring a bit earlier than expected. The rest of it was coming to pass as it should: Satoshi safe (albeit with help), his wires returning to himself, and his prey now solely focused on himself. Which left the hybrid the singular duty of reacting~ "I learned this from an assassin an ate." The words rang out as Dagur charged across the bridge towards him, the tiefling presenting his 'empty' hands to the enraged giant. "You'd have liked him, j'pense." Body quivering, a secondary surge of energy overtook the hybrid, coating his arms in a sudden burst of electricity that was only amplified by Empera's nature- it's natural affinity resonating with Ekaitzs consumed essence. Daggur wouldn't even be given a chance to hesitate, to even begin to withdraw his arm, before the hybrids hands lash out to strike out his torso, one poised to crashed into his gut, whilst the other rushes forward to impact into the giants Solar plexus. It was not just the tieflins brute strength that was going to prove pivotal however, "...He was stupid, like you." All at once, that energy gathered would be discharged, in an attempt to forcibly propell the giant back in a sparking mass of burning flesh- so that the hybrid would have both space and time to begin picking through the contents of his backpack with the wires. He had something to fetch, after all.

Satoshi is an indecisive mess after the unexpected, but not disapproved of, heroic halt to her drop. One moment she's scrabbling to free herself from Riss' hold and be rid of her 'helpless damsel' appearance, only to cringe fearfully against him the next when Dagur's Empera-fried form comes to a crash beside them, dreading the wires surely to follow. The giant, as earlier stated by Kasyr, proves himself to be remarkably hearty, as well as stupidly stubborn. Or stubbornly stupid. It's difficult to tell at this point as Dagur forces himself back on his feet, burnt chest heaving. All reason has become lost on the council member by now and with a roar he rushes forward once more, the bridge quaking violently beneath his behemoth weight.

Riss groaned, rolling onto his back before lifting to his feet and searching his pockets for another smoke, and a match to light it with. Of course, this endeavor was successful, aside from the harsh winds giving him just a bit of trouble. The rolled-tobacco was brought to his lips for an inhalation of the ever-pleasant toxin that frequented his lungs, billows of smoke released upon exhale. "Stubborn bastard, eh?" he shouted over to Kasyr, though no attempts at readying for battle were made; no, he was confidant that his skills weren't needed. Not for a small-fry like this, at least.

Kasyr only needs confirmation that Satoshi is safe, before he's able to succumb fully to battle lust. In unison, those wires which had been sifting through the contents of the backpack wrapped around their prizes, before they are drawn out in one violent sweep of the hybrids arms. Round and round the wires spin, one tightly woven cord for each hand, each one bearing 6 katana's as their fangs. Animated as they were by Emperas' wires, they gyred about the tiefling- a glistening shield of swords that followed the hybrids hands and will, dancing beneath the moonlight. It's only when Daggur gets close that the hybrid moves- lunging forward towards the giant to impact into him with the rotating field of blades. Not even a moment would be wasted before the hybrids arms are extended out to either side- the unnatural 'limbs' sweeping out like wings to both shred apart and stagger the giant. "Heh. Eheh. Come on Now. Hah."

Satoshi doesn't see any more than the dance of bladed wires. Not Dagur's body being shredded like so much wet paper, the crimson spray of blood that coats all in its reach, a portion of the bridge collapsing into the frozen void, nor even the simple lighting of Riss' cigarette. The trembling magus is blind to it all as she stumbles backwards, away from Empera and away from her husband, eyes wide with a fear rarely ever displayed, baring a chord of vulnerability she's striven to hide from even herself. It's fear, pure, simple, and instinctual that drives the feline to turn on a heel then and bolt, racing blindly for the sanctuary of the ruined castle waiting on the other side of the bridge.

Kasyr coaxes the wings to lower for a moment, giving Daggur a temporary respite as the Giant finally began to understand the damage that had been wrought against his body. The expression told it all, agony being forced back, an odd form of terror stirring within the giants heart- facing a monster that looked so terribly alive and happy at his misery. At the misery he had promised if anything happened to his mate. It was a terrifying thought to dwell on, and the hybrid didn't allow him any others. All it took was a simple flick of wrists and the wings rose up, slamming into Daggur with enough force to propell him into the air- along with a parting cut. From there the hybrid simply snapped his hands inwards, allowing the 'wings' to finally shed their feathers, the blades finding themselves released in unison- propelled by the hybrid and sentient weapons intuitive motions towards the airborne Giant. One after another, they slam into his body, continuing even after his body slams into the ground. It's only when the twelth buries itself in Daggurs body, that the giant is allowed 'release', an odious Bastard sword of the blackest hue slithering into existance within the hybrids hand- before it's promptly plunged into the giants hearts. "...Not even worth feeding from." Carelessly, Gospel is dispelled, before the hybrid simply moves onwards, allowing the katanas to soak in the ruined remains of Daggur. ...There was, after all, the task of finding his wife. ...Which, wasn't going to be that hard due to the way in which she was currently radiating terror. No, the problem was that it was all aimed at him.

Snow Covered Walls

The ruined walls here are old and decaying, the weather and snow, among other things have had a price on this place. You however suspect this place has been subject to more than just weather, as the stones are fractured and broken, pieces of metal and wood lay among the area, frozen among the ground. Perhaps a battering ram of some type was used, or maybe it was struck by a catapult of some kind. These answers you may never know, or you may find out. To the north and west lead paths among the ruins. To the east, an open field is seen.

Satoshi isn't in the best of hiding spots, but she's hardly in the state of mind to be especially creative. Instead, she opts for tucking herself behind the first decimated wall she stumbles across--or more accurately, nearly crashes into--and remain there, back pressed to cold stone with knees hugged to her chest in an altogether helpless posture.

Kasyr is not entirely appreciative of Emperas secondary function as of the current moment. Being the weapon of Temperance, it helped sober him up from the exhilaration of the fight quicker than he'd have liked- instead leaving him with yet another guilt inducing situation. Satoshis' afraid of him, and he couldn't place why- save that it was focused at him, -and- the weapon he used. Which wasn't much to go on. So rather than puzzle it out, the blood soaked tiefling simply continues walking until he nears the wall the feline was hiding behind. Then, as neatly as he can, he simply proceeds to knock against the wall, "..Es someone present, peut-etre Madamoiselle The queen of frostmaw? ...I...er. Didn't mean to unsettle vous..."

Satoshi's answer comes in the forms of a snarled, "Go away!" and a sheet of black ice promptly slamming up the wall, creating something similar to a lean-to out of brick and corrupted frost. Problem is, while the ice serves as a good veil of sorts to hide behind, it also creates a decent echo chamber that readily gives away words timidly pleaded, "Don't go..." The feline's terribly conflicted, with her source of comfort equally her source of discomfort in that moment.

Kasyr can't help but be taken aback by the felines response, and the sheer hostility she seemed to be able to muster. It didn't help that her emotions are a jumble atop all that, providing the tiefling no further indication of the problem. "...I... I really..didn't." Placing his hand along the wall, the hybrid finally turns away, so that he can slump back against it and slide to the ground, "Cherie....talk to me?"

Satoshi isn't aware the words are even spoken until they're out, "... What do you do, when the hero that normally saves you from monsters... is one himself?" Heaving a shuddering sigh, the feline slumps against the wall, unwittingly aligned with the tiefling on the other side. "You were going to use that... -that- on -me-...?"

Kasyr sighs, before letting his head fall back against the wall, "...I wouldn't know. ...You never knew me as a hero, mon amour." Glancing down towards the ground, the hybrid continues, "...Et, not exactly. It's true that I was going to protect myself with those swords...but I was not going to...to do that to vous. ...They were there to stop tu from killing moi. ...We're in your element- Ascendi know what you're capable of when flustered, here. ...At worst I would have beaten tu unconscious, using the flats. ..Et the walls."

Satoshi can't hold back a sarcastic remark, "Oh, that makes me feel -so- much better." But at least it's a glimmer of her usual self deciding to surface amidst the chaos. Sighing again, the magus climbs to her feet, coaxing the icy barrier to recede before she turns toward the wall. "I don't care about the past, who you were then compared to now..." She has to stand on tip-toes to do so, but she still manages to peek over the top--just barely--and quietly add, "you're still a hero now. To me, at least." ~'cept when you pull stunts like that one tonight~ The after-thought doesn't need to be spoken, written plainly on her face as it is.

Kasyr yelps. It's just one of those things that happen, when a cigarette is left to slowly burn to a stub. The tieflings pretty quick to spit it out, but the damage is done to the hybrids already downtrodden pride, "...I'm very glad for that cherie. ...It's what I wanted to be ..for a very long time. ...A long time ago. But I certainly...don't mind protecting tu at all." Nodding faintly, the hybrid looks up, if only to catch sight of the feline. It's about then that he manages a meek little wave towards her, "...So...erm...forgive moi? Please don't tell moi to go away, again?"

Satoshi returns the wave, just as meekly. "I won't." And, as if to off-balance the momentary bashfulness, the feline scrambles up and over the wall, plops down beside the tiefling, and simply slumps against him with a yawn. "Just don't do that again, mmkay?"
