RP:I Don't Know...

From HollowWiki

Tyler stands alone at the edge of the world. Or, so it seems as he looks over the breath taking scenic view. Dressed in his familiar torn clothing he's arms are crossed to help break the chill from the winter's air that rushes across him beneath the clear star filled sky. In his left hand clutched between his finger tips is the note written to him by Emilia. He was sure this was the place and so now, he simply waits to see if she shall arrive. The recent events between Skylei and him still filling his mind.

Emilia slowly walked along the cliff that lead to the edge where the rock met the sky. The sun was setting leaving the scene a mix of purple and pink over the horizon. Leather boots barely made sound as she approached the place she'd requested to meet Tyler. She honestly wasn't expecting him to show, but he was already there. Curls danced with the breeze into her face hiding those blue eyes. As she came up at his side she spoke, "Hello, Sir."

Tyler's ears perk in reaction to Emilia's voice calling out to him. Widened eyes pan until they find the figure of the farm girl standing out from the natural scenery around them. His blank expression is replaced with a soft smile as he tucks the note away neatly in his pocket. "Hey there kiddo." His voice soft spoken as he turns his gaze back out to the scene. His curiousity of why she had called him here was peaked but well hidden as he provides a calm apperance.

Emilia couldn't help but offer a soft smile in return to his for the briefest of moments. For a time she stood there watching him in silence as he stared out at the world. She couldn't figure out why she liked him so, but she did. It was because of this she'd asked him here. She cared about him. Closing the distance she stood next to him, slipping am arm around his waist while resting her head on his arm...if allowed to, if not she'd just remain standing next to him. "I wanted to let you know that I will be leaving the area...off to visit Gualon." She did not want him to worry about her if he couldn't find her at the tavern or his tree home.

Tyler wraps his arm around Emilia's shoulders as she moves to rest her body against his. The mention of Gualon causing his face to wrinkle a bit. His recent visit to the area with Skylei full of odd happenings. He's still focused on the beautiful scene of the setting sun and only speaks to Emilia once a bird soaring past catches his attention, leading him to face her. "What on earth makes you want to go there? You know it's full of orcs and barbarians, yes?"

Emilia offered a soft brief smile to the male as he asked if she knew what Gualon was full of. She nodded to him, "Of course, I know." She knew all too well what lived in the city and around it, but what he didn't know is she was fully protected by the city and its current ruler, Tristram. "Where would you rather I go?" She asked, curious as to why he seemed upset at her choice of location.

Tyler thinks on her question for a moment. Swallowing the lump in his throat and racing his tongue across his lips before offering a firm shrug. "I don't know..." He turns around to be face to face with her and places his right hand on her hip while using the left to push back her bangs. "May I ask why you're going?" His eyes shift between her own. The lighting of the sky rapidly fading to black as the sun nestles quietly behind the horizon.

Emilia glanced up at him as he brushed her bangs out of her eyes. A glimmer of something dancing in the blue depths, but as the darkness of the night settled in it faded out. She didn't speak, just stared at him in silence for a short amount of time. Resting her hands lightly on his shoulders she used him as support while standing to her tip toes to place a soft brief kiss to his lips. "I'm afraid if I stay too long I will end up getting hurt." Was whispered as she fell back to her normal height.

Tyler's eyes fall shut as Emilia's lips connect with his own. The kiss ending far too quickly for the human's liking as his stomach turns in upset when she falls back down. Her words take a moment to register in his mind and his expression shifts to that of confusion. "What do you mean?" He asks honestly, while maintaining eye contact. His mind bouncing between the only two things the farm girl could possibly means - Physically or Emotionally.

Emilia reached up to push his bangs out of his eyes this time as her blue gaze rested on his caramel one. "Simple. Staying in Kelay will get me hurt in the end." She flashed a timid smile to him before taking a small step back away from him. She'd spent months rebuilding that invisible wall that Javier tore down into rubble. Now, Ty was managing to slowly take down it down again, but she wasn't sure that she was ready for that or that that was what he wanted.

Tyler is lost in the eyes of the small woman standing before him. Her words ring in his ears like a siren, and though he's confident she's referring to him that small, inadequate brain of his is pulling him from the thought, constantly screaming to him that she doesn't care for him in that way. Skylei's image spills into his mind, and he is once again stuck in a mental struggle that he is unwilling to open up on. The hypocricy of his words to Skylei clearly stinging at him now, 'Why can't you just say what you mean?!'. He blinks rapidly three times and it's at this point he finds he hasn't been breathing. "Oh." is all he manages to say before raising his head to face the sky above. The shimmering night sky the one place he is able to always count on for peace and comfort.

Emilia watched him as he stood there in silence, wondering what was going on in the head of his. He'd held his breath for a time before offering a simple, 'oh' before looking up to the night sky. Lifting her gaze for a moment she stared up too, looking at the starting of a stary night. A half smile at the beauty of the night. Bringing her gaze back to Tyler she reached out to take a light hold of his hand in both of hers, "I like you, Tyler." She said bluntly, "And I am afraid that that isn't mutual. I'd hate to see you break your promise without knowing you were."

Tyler feels his heart hit the floor. The weight bringing down his eyelids to a close as he feels his blood run cold. Those words, he didn't want to hear them. Then again, it's what he's been waiting for all this time. The breeze rushes over the two of them and in this moment Tyler, for once, seems capable. His eyes meet with Emilia's once more and he nods. "I like you too. A lot." He gives her hands a squeeze before slowly letting go. "But you're right. You'd get hurt... So would she." His hands move to slide into his pockets and he takes a moment to catch his breath. He isn't sure why this has suddenly become so hard. His gaze falls to the ground as he explains. "The wood elf. She was engaged to my former self..." A sharp exhale as he finds humor in how Emilia will struggle to comprehend his explanation. "Look... Long story short, I'm just a spare soul, wearing another guys skin as a suit. I'm a no body. Yeah, I have feelings for Sky and you. I mean, how couldn't I? You two are the only one's who've really seemed to give a damn about me... but even then, this-this-this constant nagging is telling me otherwise..." He's rambling and his words aren't making sense to him. He shakes his head in frustration and pulls his hands to plant them firmly on his face, holding this pose for at least a minute before once again allowing himself to stare at Emilia. "I'm not worth it. To either of you..." He falls silent, his eyes red and his body worn. It's odd really, how emotion is so quick to claim the man on the matter.

Emilia stood there in silence as she listened to the words of the man as he spoke to her with truths that she'd already knew. At least, she'd already figured out his problem with having let himself find feelings for two different women, herself and Skylei. For a moment, she thought to just walk off and leave him standing there at the cliff in the darkness. Leave him as a man that is broken and confused with the choices he has made with his new life in the skin of another man. Crossing an arm over her chest she gripped her other arm lightly. The hand of her hanging arm lightly taking a faint hold at her denim pants. She wasn't very good at the whole people thing. In silence she stared at him while placing her thoughts together so that when she spoke it wasn't a mess. "You might be a man within the skin of another man who is longer here, but that doesn't make you a nobody. It makes you a somebody because it is what is on the inside that counts, not the outside. Can't judge a book by its cover because some of the prettiest looking books have the ugliest tale inside them." She offered a small shrug. The life that danced in those blue eyes of her vacant now as the wind blew blonde curls into her face. "You are worth more than any diamond found within the mines, but that worth is only as much as the beholder places." Her fingers dug into her arm, "I am sorry that I have caused a riff in your relationship with the woman you care about. I will be going now, Sir." A sad smile given to him before she turned to walk away now. She can't hurt him if she isn't around him.

Tyler allows her five steps, no more, no less. A quick look cast out over the horizon of the scenic view as he grits his teeth in anguish. A jerk of the hip kick starts him as he takes only two leaps towards Emilia before his palm catches her right shoulder. Spinning her around to face him the distress is clear upon his visage. This is the closest the current man has ever come to being a replication of his former self. Emotion seems to pour from every fiber of the man's being. His entire frame shaken and frantic and his lips rip apart and his voice struggles to find it's place. Releasing her shoulder he turns away and shouts a string of curses best not heard by a child into the wind, mana infused flames bursting from his body as he allows the anger to erupt. The flames die as quickly as they come and he turns to face Emilia once more. "Don't.... Don't go." The words fall from chapped lips in a defeated voice and the human is left standing in a vulnerable state. His words are shaken, the emotion clear even if the they don't make sense. The overwhelming feeling that Skylei is still only interested in him due to memories of the former has left Tyler with the only other option; The one who met him... as him.

Emilia had gotten exactly five steps away from Tyler. It was in the middle of that sixth step that his hand caught her right shoulder, spinning her about to face him. Shock was plastered into her look as she stared at the man without blinking while balanced on that one foot while the other remained there mid-step. As he turned to cuss into the wind while a burst in flames that foot took its step, only backwards by one. Wide-eyed as she just watched him throw a fit with himself. She wasn't sure what exactly to make of it, but she could read all his emotions more clearly now. Blinking a few times after his words, 'don't go', she was left still in shock. Part of her was screaming at her to just go before she could get hurt, but the other part was screaming just as loud to stay. For the moment, she wasn't going and just stood there.

Tyler spots the look in Emilia's eyes. He can't help but to laugh at himself as he rubs at his right eye. How stupid he must look to her, a grown man acting like a child because he can't get his own emotions in line. Wiping at his mouth before moving closer to Emilia he reaches out to take her hand if she'd allow it. Those caramel hues of his fall in line with her liquid blues. "I can't promise I won't hurt you. I can't promise you anything, except that I will protect you." He pauses. His jaw flexing in thought as he pieces together his words. "I've never done anything like this. I've told you before, I'm hardly a man and even that I'm unsure of. All I know, is that my insides are turning at the thought of you leaving. But, my mind is pleading to let you leave. I care about you. I don't want you to be hurt, either..." He sighs and releases her hand, if she'd let him take it in the first place, and allows his own to fall by his sides. "Do what -you- want, Emi. If you leave, I will have no ill will..."

Emilia did allow the man to take her hand into his own. If anything she was still lost in her own head trying to figure out what had just happened to Tyler that she didn't even notice him take her hand right away. Blinking slowly as his words sank in while he took his hand back. What do I want? became the question in her own mind now. One side wanted to stay while the other wanted to go, but which screamed louder? Closing her eyes she took in a slow breath before exhaling as her opened her eyes to stare at him. "And...if I stay?" It was a simple question, but one that held the full key to if she did indeed stay or go.

Tyler's stressed expression reappears as Emilia asks her final question. His right hand rubbing on his left arm followed by a shrug as he declares honesty to be his strongest ally thus far, "I don't know.", he proclaims in a soft spoken tone that carries a weight of feeling with it.

Emilia tilted her head to the side just a bit as blonde curls fell into her face, hiding the look in those blue eyes. Maybe she read too many books as of late to be expecting more from him if he really wanted her to stay, but he just stood there looking at her with an unsure tone in his voice. "Perhaps it is best I go then..." Her lower lip curled in as she bit lightly. She didn't want to go, but he wasn't convincing her that he really wanted her to stay either.

Tyler's throat is caught as Emilia speaks once more. He remains still for what seems like ages before slowly nodding and faking a smile, "Yeah..." He barely manages to mutter while taking a few steps back. He's nodding with each step and finally turns away from the farm girl to approach the scenic edge once more. As he stands at the edge of the earth his eyes cast out to the horizon as he observes the stars and forces himself in reassurance that it's best to let her go on. What could he possibly provide her? What good is a man who doesn't even know where to begin or what to say? He knows the outcome of any relationship with, well, anyone, is highly unfavorable in his case. So with a longing sigh, he swallows the lump in his throat one again and simply lets his eyes fall shut.

Emilia bit down harder on her lip with that single word of his that agreed she should leave. In that moment she felt, well...empty. More empty than she'd felt in the longest time. Standing there she stared at him for a time, watching walk away to the edge of the cliff. She must have heard him wrong when he'd said he'd liked her, a lot. Shaking it off she turned with a sigh before walking off once more toward Gualon. Three steps away she'd pause, "Take care of yourself, Sir. I am sure you will find happiness with your elf-lady." Then she was back to walking off into the darkness.

Tyler hears her voice call out, and he is quick to reply, but in a soft voice that Emilia might not here, "I'll be alone, Kiddo..." Lowering himself to the ground he hangs his legs over the edge of the cliff and presses his palms into the soil on either side, eyes remaining to the horizon as he repeats himself but just once, "Alone."

Emilia had made it just out of sight of the man in the darkness. It was there that she stopped for a moment, taking time to breath deeply. A few breaths to calm herself down and think. A few more and she was walking back to where Tyler was sitting at the cliff. Without a word she'd take a seat next to him before reaching over to take his hand in hers, if allowed. "Never alone, Sir. You're stuck with me."

Tyler continues to stare off into the horizon as he hears the footsteps coming behind him. His mind doesn't attempt to tell him that it is Emilia returning. It isn't until she takes a seat and sets her hand on his, that a smile would appear on the man's face once more as the couple sat together, staring out over the view in the silence of the night.
