Sandy Beach

South of the creative mass of Dami's beach is a gentle, sandy area dominated by high cliffs to the South. These protect the beach from winds and it is a pleasant area for everyone to lounge or swim. If they wish, they can seek shade in the gardens to the East. Many people look towards the cliffs, sure that they can see faint, hand-made outlines on them.

Tyler sits at the edge of the sandy shore, bare feet stuck in the sand despite the near freezing temperatures that have tainted even the coastal settlement of Chartsend. The human has come here in escape from his earlier encounter with Sabrina at the local inn. Being the only one present on the beach he has little issue addressing himself out loud, constant insults to his actions ringing out across the area. Before him is a small journal that he is scribbling in like a mad man. On the yellowed parchment rest plans from when he had abducted Celinia and himself in a bout of insanity in hopes to make a bit of coin. The plan of course, had ultimately failed and despite exorcising his own demons the human still found himself struggling with his constant pull toward coin, his greed beckoning him to make an attempt yet again on someones freedom. He reminds himself of his fiance, and his loyalty to her. He tries to remind himself he is a good man. But as he repeats these things to himself, he still finds his hand moving swiftly against the paper, detailing how he would surprise the next traveler and promptly capture them to be sold to Gamorg for profit.

Vuryal slithers upon the shore as a blackened shadow, barely noticeable in this darkened region of Chartsend. "Tyler..." he beckons from the dark, the ascended knowing full well the man that resides here.

Tyler is still busy scribbling upon the small pages when he hears his name called from the shadows. His hand freezing as caramel hues slowly peer up from the parchment to face out to the waves and then checking himself to the left and right. He fails to catch sight of Vuryal upon first glance though he witnesses the being on a second chance and his frame freezes. A heavy lump in his throat is swallowed as a light shiver begins to creep up his spine. His voice all a bit shaken though an attempted firm tone is provided as he ponders how this being knows his name; "Yes?"

Vuryal remains in his non-corporeal state, seeing no need to come forth out of the void at this moment. "I have been watching you for some time, Tyler... Watching. Waiting..."

Tyler falls silent as the creatures voice rings out once more claiming to have been at voyeur for sometime on the humans life. His reaction is to fold the journal and set it to the ground before him and turn his gaze to face out on the moons reflection across the salted ocean to avoid contact with the ethereal voice the beckons to him. Initially, he feels no need to speak, perhaps if he ignores Vuryal he will simply fade away, or perhaps this was just the mans mind playing tricks on him once again. No. This was something else. His lips part and a seldom question is offered, "Oh? And for what reason, might I ask?"

Vuryal said, "Greatness."

Tyler cannot help but arch a brow as the single word is spoken in his direction. His mind presents trouble in trying to process how such a thing could even be addressed in his direction. His eyes fall to the sand as he shakes his head slowly in disbelief. "I'm afraid your eyes may have betrayed you. I do not see how anything of the sort could attend to my being."

Vuryal says nothing at the moment, rather a single object appears in the sand nearby Tyler. It radiates with a glow unto itself, though it appears to be nothing more than a common item found anywhere. It lies there, as if waiting to be grasped. "Take hold, and you shall have it."

Vuryal dropped 1 golden needle.

Tyler finds his attention focused solely upon the object by his side. The needles' glow pulling him in, his greed growing stronger with each passing second. The voice rings out for him to take it. His mind pleads with him to find reason in this entire ordeal, to think about his actions and to jump up and run. But his heart beckons for something more. Slowly his hand extends toward the needle and a dirtied palm is presented, a moments hesitation, then he has it. Fingernails dig into the sand and Tyler grasps the needle with force. A vice grip offered as his breathing becomes irrational and heavy. The human unaware of what he may have just done, though his body screams that it was the right choice.

Tyler picked up 1 golden needle.

Vuryal says just a single word, "Good", the single syllable trailing off into the waves of air that seem to bring about a crisp saltiness to each breathe they pass upon those who gather here.

Tyler is unaware of his actions. Unaware of what his greed has just sealed him into, and to be honest, he doesn't much care. For some reason, the small item held tightly in his grasp that he currently pushes sand off of brings him a sense of security and happiness. His eyes fall closed once again and he can't help but wonder - what the hell just happened.

Vuryal begins to dissipate from the area, but not without leaving a passing remark for the man. "Keep it close. I will call upon you when I am ready. Fail, and you will never see Skylei again."

Tyler remains encased in a aura of bliss until the words are spoken as Vuryal takes his leave. The threat pressing into his mind as reality slams into the human like a ton of bricks. His actions had once again found him in a rough spot. He thinks. He thinks hard. What does he have to worry about? He would obey. He would follow. He would survive.
