RP:Gheneroc's New Body

From HollowWiki

Summary: Gheneroc has learned how to take a mortal form, albeit far from a 'traditional' manner. As a dragon that predates all of Hollow's modern dragons, Gheneroc had to learn this organically. This is to establish Gheneroc's learning period.

The cave was engulfed in darkness. Gheneroc had closed the cavern off from the rest of the world, sequestering himself behind meters of thick, hard granite. The cave dragon grumbled as he had spent a significant amount of time preparing this ritual, deciding to take his domination spell yet one more step further. He breathed in, carefully exhaling as he opened the ancient tome, protected from the ravages of time by magic more powerful than even Gheneroc could cast. This book was created long before Gheneroc's life and appeared as new as the day it was written. The book had no name Gheneroc could think of, but it contained many secrets that had to be decoded. The Chain of Domination was but the first part to a three-step ritual.

Finally, the second part was becoming more clear. Gheneroc had started this shortly before his long slumber, but it was interrupted by the dwarven war. The body was breathing softly. A human that had died, but was revived with the magic of life, only with the lack of a soul reducing the poor fellow to a comatose state. Gheneroc had arranged for the body to be delivered directly to him. There would not be another. The cave dragon lit the candles with a wave of his hand, sowing his energy across the inscribed rite. The dragon was smaller, standing only twelve feet tall as opposed to his normal house-sized self. The dragon breathed with the man, syncing their rythems very carefully. Focus had to be maintained. Gheneroc closed his eyes as he began the chant from the beginning. The comatose man would not be awakened by the dragon's roar-like chants as he bore his full power. All the magic Gheneroc could channel at once to build his power as the ritual was flowing from his tongue and his mind. Each word was said with rythem of each breath, ensuring a higher chance of success in the spell.

Gheneroc's voice boomed more with the final passage he had spent the last three days reciting as carefully as possible. With his practice in the art, the Chain was placed upon the comatose human, fully engulfing his form from the bottom tip of his ear, wrapping around his body and limbs. As Gheneroc said the last sentence, the chain tattoo would snake around the man's limbs with a common source just over the man's heart. Gheneroc collapsed just as the spell climaxed, and all his energy was spent seeding the spell that had to take just a little more time.

The cave dragon would sleep for weeks before he awoke, but something was different. He couldn't see in the pitch black of the room, and his body felt smaller, and significantly less familiar. He grunted as pain in his joints assailed his senses as he tried to move, but soon the body would comply. He was soft, and pink-skinned. He could feel it. The spell had worked to the fullest extent. Gheneroc spat out a quick spell for magic light to fill the cave, and he saw his own sleeping form. A smile cracked over his aged lips just before he took a kneeling position, and tried to focus. But nothing happened! He had spent too much magic to make the transition. This was disasterous, but Gheneroc decided to rest, even as hunger clawed his stomach. Of course, Gheneroc's 'other body' was plenty well fed.

The dragon had his human form, albeit separate from his dragon body. He had achieved what he originally believed to be utterly impossible. He could become his own envoy. He could see through the eyes of a human, by literally transferring his awareness to the new body. This brough a significant amount of perspective to the arrogant saurian. All that was left to wait...

And wait Gheneroc did. When he had enough strength to transfer back, he did. The dragon was quick to awaken in his original scaly form. He sowed magic over his new mortal body, imbuing it with every power he could muster over the coming weeks. He even saught to keep it well fed and hydrated lest it die while under his care. Gheneroc finished one cold morning, some three weeks after completion of the ritual finally ready to take his new body for a test. He left it in the cave, opening the mouth to the world just before he retreated beneath the earth. Gheneroc tunneled as he had just before engaging in his slumber, burying himself almost miles beneath the surface, sealing the hole behind him. He had enough air to sustain himself, but he whispered the key word that would transfer his awareness. The dragon fell asleep and the human awoke. Everything was safe. The book was with his dragon body, buried far beneath the ground. His senses took a few moments to syncronize with the change, but a wicked smile cracked as he left the cave mouth, ready to begin a new journey.
