Characters: Nasada, Artia, Pilar, Mikaia

Location: Artia's Ranch

Date: Jan. 17th, 2016

Artia had been busy this day, she had found more corpses in the way to the sickbay. The death toll was rising not fast but it was rising. More and more prints that belonged to fermin showed up, what was going on? She had felt better today, and that was a bonus. Xzavior had took on more shifts at the sick bay to help Artia out, she needed to take care of herself. Laying Izabella down into her crib made out of a basket that was fur lined by the fireplace, she sat down too. Caressing the side of the baby's face, "Shh.." She said to her as the baby fell quick to sleep. The front door was left unlocked.

Pilar entered the house, covered in dirt. She was wearing her training gear, but she hadn't been training; she'd been mining. She was determined to find a real job, so she could make a real wage, instead of just playing for tips. Unfortunately, mining didn't seem to be her calling, as she hadn't found much of anything during her hours of labor. Pilar smiled at Artia as she passed by on her way into the bedroom. "Hello, mi amor," she said, quietly so as not to wake the baby. She then disappeared into the room to change.

Pilar looked at Nasada

Nasada wasn't too far behind Pilar, slowly approaching the door with a bit of nervous hesitation. it wasn't that she didn't appreciate the charity, it just made her feel terrible. This was not how she had been raised. Taking a deep breath, she slowly opened the door and took a few steps inside. Click. Clack. Click. Clack. Click. Clack. Her heels sang in cadence as she crossed over the wooden floor of the foyer. "H-hello?.." she called out softly, stopping near center of the large room; She didn't wish to tread any farther until she were certain there was someone home.

Artia looked up and offered Pilar a smile blowing her a kiss, but did notice how dirty she was. And took note that she had her training gear on, more training with Daermon? She shrugged, and stood up to move to the kitchen grabbing her a glass of strawberry wine. Moving back into living room, she walked along each wall trying decide what book she wanted to refresh on. Artia already knew the sound of Raevyn's voice, and instantly heard the heels. "In here Nasada, I'm in the living room. Come on in, or stop by the kitchen for a drink or food if you like." Artia wore heels tonight as well which made the female a height of five foot eleven, her dress was a light sort. Soft shimmering silk with a Sapphire brooch at the end of the v-neckline, the light blue silk gown left little to the imagination of the curves hidden underneath. Grabbing a book on flowers that can be used for good or bad, tossing it to the couch as she moved to sit back infront of the fireplace. The flames glow dancing off her form, making the red hair seem to come to life looking like flames themselves.

Pilar felt it as soon as Nasada came in. It wasn't strong, but it was there. A sense of darkness afoot. She shuddered as she finished pulling on her nightgown (she'd take a bath later, right now she was just so tired). She threw on a housecoat and walked back out of the bedroom, only to find Nasada, who seemed to be the source of the dark feeling, standing there. She tensed up at the presence of a stranger, only to relax slightly when she heard Artia call from the living room. As the witch neared the fireplace, Pilar looked at her, as if waiting for an introduction.

Nasada felt a little better now that other bodies were putting about the house, a sigh of relief let loose. Why was she so nervous? Slowly she crossed the rest of the foyer to stand at the livingroom's entrance, a half-smile offered to Pilar, accompanied by an akward two finger wave. "H-hello." she said, a poor attempt at a greeting. Artia may be a little surprised when nasada offers a similar little wave, as the girl may look completely unlike the night previous. No longer were those disgusting robes to be found. In place, a new attire, form fitting, and black. Her hair was straight, no longer dirty and clumped from months of unwash. And most likely best of all, she probably no longer reeked of deer piss and stale farts. She looked.. normal. Still a bit shy, she glanced between the two women and kept her head down.

Nasada looked at Pilar. Nasada looked at Artia.

Artia 's cyan gaze fell on Pilar, standing up she grabbed pilar are the hips pulling her against her. Giving the female a greeting of passionate kiss to her lips, both hands caressing Pilar's hips. Pulling away resting her forehead against the vampire, whispering "I missed you my love." Pulling away, she smiled. "This is our new friend Nasada, I found her half froze to death last night. Took her in as my second apprentice, she is very excited to have a roof and belly to be kept full. She was lost, like I once was." Looking to Nasada, "This is my girlfriend, Pilar. I do hope you two can become friends as well." Artia indeed noticed how well Nasada cleaned up, and nods to her on accepting her attire, "Is that the gown I laid out for you? Or did you treat yourself? Also, I might have you a second job to help you get more clothes. My friend Kreekitaka is always looking for more models, I can let him know about you if you like. Get free gowns and dresses to wear. He is currently working on armor for me."

Mikaia appeared from the south.

Pilar was generally a timid person, but with Artia around, she felt a little more comfortable around strangers. She bowed her head in acknowledgment of Nasada's greeting before she was swept up in Artia's arms. She kissed her lover back, blushing slightly at how they were doing so in front of company. After introductions, Pilar smiled at Nasada. Foreboding feeling or not, there was no need to be discourteous. Hell, far as she could tell, there was no need for that foreboding feeling. Yet here it was. "Hello, Lady Nasada." Ooh, she was using Common titles instead of her usual Grancevalian ones. She truly was assimilating.

Pilar looked at Mikaia.

Nasada forced herself to relax a little more. There was nothing to be afraid of. These were not the ones that called her a monster. These are not the ones that exiled her. They will be friends. She repeated this in her head over and over. "Oh! Pilar! Hello! Artia spoke of you last night. Pleasure to meet you." That's better! She then stopped and thought a moment. "I.. think I've seen you in passing. near um. Kelay?" To Artia, the young woman turned and opened her cloak to reveal leather pants and a form fitting shirt. "I did wear the gown to sleep in, and I thank you so much for its use. I... went out and bought a few things of my own today. I will pay you back as soon as I can, i promise!" Feeling at ease, she stepped into the living room, taking a seat upon one of the nearby couches. "Model? Me? I don't know... I hardly think I am the type. But... I could use the work I suppose."

Mikaia looked at Nasada.

Mikaia had just got back from hunting, she was a bit dirtier than the usual today. However, she did get two big deer. That's always something to be proud of. The young huntress had made her way to Artia's to seek out more work. The lycaness was getting sick of the low wages from the butcher for the meat she hunted for him. She was dressed in her chainmail top with a dark brown blouse underneath. Her tight leather pants with runes down her thighs and a pair of heavy and very muddy runed boots. It seemed she liked runes. With a big clearing of her throat she came in through the door, "I'm here." That's all she said as she brought her thick curvy self over to the living room. For Mik's sake she was lucky that the mud had already dried or Artia or Pillar might have beat her for it. Maybe. The woman smelled of earth and some strange spices. Hair was quite the mess as she had a twig or two poking out from her long braid. Loose curls framed her sharp face as those deep green eyes looked over everyone. Making a stink look at Nasada before a smile quickly went over it. She was always jealous of the pretty girls. Mik made herself at home as she took a seat on the couch. Crossing one thick thigh over the other. Now she wasn't all fat, she had a lot of muscle, but not a size two like most girls seemed to be. She was a healthy beastie.

Nasada looked at Mikaia.

Artia hoped these two could become friends, the witch had plans to introduce Nasada to all her friends to help the female feel at home like they did her. Nuzzling into Pilar's neck nipping her earlobe playfully as she stepped away, but by only one step though. She planned to show Pilar later how much she missed her in every possible way. Waving her hand in Nasada direction, "Don't be silly, you will not..you are my apprentice and my workers will look the best they can. And wear the best. As for a model, give it a try! Kreekitaka is..different than other species you will ever see, so don't be startled when you see him. I actually said a loud 'what is that thing' when I met him." She laughed shaking her head, "He is a good friend, say..you might be able to run his store he is wanting to open here in Larket. Can you sew?" Artia almost wanted to pounce the lycaness and wrestle around on the floor, but she was dressed nice this eve so she refrained. "Mikaia, this is Nasada my other apprentice. Nasada this is Mikaia she helps guard the corpses at the sickbay. She is a very funny lady and has a crush on a knight in training named Robert..who also guards the corpses along with Sir Bruin. You will soon meet everyone."

Pilar tilted her head. She didn't recall seeing Nasada, but... "Maybe. I spend time in Kelay often. I'm sorry to say I do not recognize you." She giggled as Artia nipped at her, then looked at Mikaia, bewildered as to who this other strange young lady was. She, of course, would never have beaten on anyone, especially not for as measly an offense as tracking mud into the house. Pilar gave the girl a smile and a nod before looking at Artia. "I am very tired, mi vida. I think I will go to bed..." She leaned close to her lover's ear and murmured something before giving her a kiss and heading to the bedroom. "Good night, Lady Nasada, Lady Mikaia."

Pilar whispered something to Artia.

Nasada blinked. So much information to take in! "Corpses?...." This first word piqued her curiosity most. She had been so close to reanimation in the past! Maybe, just maybe- No. Do not freak others out. Don't make them hate you too, she thought. First she addressed Artia's lover. "Good evening, miss Pilar. Dream well." Then to Mikaia she greeted happily, "Hello, it's... nice to meet you, miss Mikaia." half clothed digits lifted to brush some of the ebon strands from her face, pausing shortly over the scar on her forehead, then tucking a chunk behind her ear. Suddenly she blurted out, "Oh yes! I can sew, actually. I used to tend to my own clothes. My... mother taught me."

Mikaia nodded her head to Nasada's way. Still she was silently judging her. Taking in her scent, her eye color, hair, height, being a creepy lycan that she really was. Y'know, its the wolf in her. Mikaia did however blush once Artia spoke about Robert, however did not speak of it. She hadn't seen him in a while since she ran out of the tavern that very night. Perhaps she was avoiding him, but really she was quite scared of Desparrow. Another lycan she had met. Being called a Lady put a sour taste in her mouth, "G'night..." She simply rumbled lightly to Pilar as she was just a grumpy wolf. "You can just call me Mik. Ain't no lady, nor a miss, just a Mik.." Winking to Nasada playfully as she rubbed at her belly. "Artiaaaa... Do you have any food?" Yes, food, her favorite thing in the entire world! The talk of sewing made her nod, "That's always a good thing to know. I even know how to sew. I'm not made of money, I gatta make my knickers last a while.

Artia smiler at the giggles coming from Pilar, hearing the hushed words she blushed with a smirk at her girlfriend. "I'll be seeing you..soon." Taking a sip of her wine, she looked upon the two other ladies. "Shall we break out the wine ladies?" She leaned forward slightly to chuckle at the way Nasada got so excited, "Well than, looks like you need to see Kreekitaka a letter stating you are my apprentice and also would like to manage over his store in Larket." She laughed at Mikaia, "Miky you know I always have food. Come you two, let's get your bellies full and I'll pout us all some wine. So how is Robert and Sir Bruin lately? I been so busy lately I forgot to check on you three." Moving into the kitchen she lifted cloths off of trays revealing fried chickens, cooked pork and other foods. Moving to her tippy toes she grabbed two more wine glass pouring them each a glass, and of course filling her own back up.

Nasada felt her face flush, although it may not have shown on those pallid cheeks of hers. "Oh. Alright. Mik it is!" A soft laugh escaped her lips as the lycan patted her belly and asked for food. Mikaia seemed to remind Nasada of someone she once knew long ago. "Very well, I, um, where do I... send mail? Forgive me, but I have not really learned much of the geography quite yet." As she followed into the Kitchen, her shoes once more echoed with that sharp clicking. Thinking it polite, she slipped the boots off and slid them out of the way so than none entering would happen to trip. Upon sight of the prepared food, Nasada's mouth watered. She might actually like this arrangement! However as she looked at the wine, the young woman made a bit of a face and sniffed it.

Mikaia waggled her eyebrows to Nasada as Artia and Pilar were 'secretly flirting', just to be a goofball. Once Artia talked about wine she let out a little growl as she sighed, "Fiiiiine. You know it makes me talk funny." Scoffed Mik as she got up from her comfy spot on the couch. The stout lycan bit the inside of her cheek as she was quite about talking of work. However, got a great idea as she let it all out, "Well, I don't know how the boys are possibly doing, I can never manage to find them. Prolly off lolly-gagging and doing who-know's-what.." Waved off Mik as she then looked at the food and instantly ignored them both. Wolf was hungry! Wolf loved chicken! Mik was busy putting legs on her plate before she heard the cute question from Nasada, "Pffft. Just give it to me. I'll deliver it for you. Hah.. Mail..." She shook her head as she then took a bite of her food. Staring at Nasada almost in an animalistic way. However, she did stop her staring before then telling her, "You don't have to like it.. Pretend." A small wink following with the bit of advice. However, it seemed Artia was being called from the bedroom as she had quickly made her way to Pilar's arms. "Oh my.. Hopefully they'll be quiet.." Teased Mik to Nasada, "You seem quite frazzled. Stirred up and in high gear in the head there. You alright?" Curiously asked the kindhearted woman that was Miky.

Nasada chuckles to herself as Mik wasted no time digging into the food. Truthfully has she been more at ease, Nasada would have greedily done the same. Food was next to heaven. "Oh? Well, I appreciate that... Thank you." she first told the lycan, before another sniff of the wine was taken. A sip followed- surprisingly it wasn't half bad! Pale dead blues turned Artia watching her run off to the bedroom; Her face twisting in surprise and then to a very faint form of disgust once she realized what Mikaia meant. "I... yes.. I think. It's just, I don't know. Do you ever feel as though you have been somewhere before? Or... experienced something that is on one hand, very familiar, yet all too alien?" She reached over and tore a piece of chicken from bone, immediately stuffing it into her open maw.

Mikaia enjoyed watching the woman take a sip of her wine. Happy to see that she genuinely liked it. A small nod was given to Nasada as she continued to eat, however she did listen to her. A tilt of her head was given some - just like a dog would do once asked a question, "Hmmm... Sometimes. I'll be in a dream and remember a very specific landmark and sometimes I run into it when I'm awake... Do you mean something like that?" Curiously questioned Mik as she smiled to see the woman eat her food with heart. That was the best way to be; honest. "You can speak to me, I'll listen.." Sweetly spoke the beast as she would of course care about other people's feelings. Lycans were still people. Miky was actually just a very loving girl, but had to put on the tough show for everyone else.

Nasada , despite her troubled concern, was digging in pretty quickly. She had forgotten what it was like to actually eat real food! Maybe it wasn't polite, but with one cheek full and her teeth working to grind up a bit more of the fowl, she spoke. "Yeah... i guess.. something like that... I just.." she paused, taking a good gulp of wine to wash down the mouthful. Her brow lifted, this drink really allowing her to take in the flavor of the beverage. "Okay, I never really told anyone this, but I need to make sense of it all. About a year ago or a little longer I found a stone. It was the most beutiful thing I have ever seen. It pulsated with some sort of aura that just... it was just so pretty. On my way home with it, i was... attacked by these two thugs. One of them hit me with the stone and...I know it was pretty hard." She lifted her fingers to touch the scar upon her forehead, "Now this might sound odd, but, I think I died. Or something. I remember having this dream. This really scary dream. Of some sort of dark pit- I could have sworn it was... you know... the underworld. Where... unclean souls go to rot." Another piece of chicken was liften to her lips, her gaze staring off into nothingness as she recanted her tale. "I woke up... it was three days later. And I just felt different. I think someone might have saved me, because my wound had healed. Wounds don't heal that fast, right?" Her pale, icy gaze fell over Mik. "I haven't been in this region long. In fact everything here is so much more different than my home. I have -never- ventured far from my village before. But... I had these dreams. And something inside me..." she bit her lip. "Mik.. I need to know. Is there a tower near here? Tall, nestled in the mountains?"

Mikaia would be wagging her tail right now if she could as she watched the woman eat freely. That made her feel very comfortable and trusting with Nasada. Her attention was brought to her tale. Why it was quite the story. It peaked Miky's attention as she seemed to let out a heavy sigh with wonder. "Now that... Is quite interesting tale Nasada.." She picked up her plate and made her way to sit next to her now. Invading the whole personal-bubble thing as she went in to move her beautiful hair away from her wound. Those deep green eyes looking at the wound more as if trying to see if magic was at hand. Abruptly moving back she went back to eating. After a few minutes of quiet she spoke again, "I think its all quite possible, really... Have you heard of soul stones before, Nasada?" Curiously asked Mik as she wondered how that would work, "Your wound could have been healed with magic. I'm not seeing any flaws at all with how you're healing when with medicine there can always be a hiccup.." Spoke the young woman as she would confess to her, "I also left my home that way, which frightens me to think I may be in the same situation, but I was never harmed. I was gifted with the wolf, but that's a gift." She shrugged lightly as she gave Nasada with a sympathetic pat to the back that was soon followed by a loving rub to her mid-back, "In time I know we can figure this all out." Letting her hand linger before slowly falling off her mid-back before smiling to her in a friend-like way, "There is a tower in the mountains. Anyone can see it when they go to do some mining. Its so tall it towers past the clouds. Quite the climb. Not a big fan of climbing..." She says as she looks down at her pudgy tummy, giving it a good poke as she chuckled to Nasada. She could give a damn less if she was chubby or not.

Nasada wanted to pull away from Mikaia as she moved near; The observation, the comforting touch- this was not something she were used to, and she was not even sure if it was quite welcomed at this point. After all, everyone she had cared for had turned their backs. They branded her a heretic. "No... not really. What are Soul stones?" she asked, genuinely curious. To Mik's following observations she didn't really say too much, silently chewing as she contemplated the answers given. "Same situation? Really?" Surprise. "Gifted with the wolf? What does that mean?" Another question for the lycan- she was quite curious. Those slender black brows furrowed for a moment, then as she turned to look at Mik with those almost undead-like blues, she smiled. Chuckled even. "I do not blame you. I reaaaaally don't like climbing myself. Falling hurts." A joke! Finally she cracks a joke! A bit of a wink is offered as she reaches for another slab of poultry.

Mikaia appeared to be human, but her actions and thinking came from the wolf itself. She was just a beast in human's skin. A literal wolf within that body, not as much human, but wolf. They were one. A bit schizophrenic at times, but still, they were one. "Mmm, well, I'm sure Artia could tell you more, but I know that they are able to capture souls of people... Perhaps yours was stolen.. What you were seeing was the inside of the crystal.. This is just a theory let me explain to you, I'm no professional... Anyways, perhaps your body is just now waking up from your soul being taken.. That is a very important part of you."She shrugged lightly as she could be just a crazy mutt. Look at her. She was practically a homeless person that loved runes. Certainly Mik smelled like one, minus the disgusting scent of waste. Mainly she smelled of dirt and mud. "I just mean the same situation by leaving your village randomly because of something you longed for... I honestly don't know why I came to Hollow, or why I even decided that Hollow was where I needed to stop traveling to, but.. I love it here. I hope you will too, Nasada.." Genuinely coo'd the wolf at the end. It seemed Nasada had quite the charm on the lycaness. The question of the gift made her choke on some chicken before swallowing it down, "Oh... You... You don't know that expression?" Asked the wolf as she tilted her head again to her like before, "I'm only half human, Nasada.. The other half of me is a wolf.." Simply put the woman as she went back to eating her chicken, but quickly clarified, "Yes, the animal. I'm a furrball in the blink of an eye." Added the woman as she went to eating away at the knuckle of a chicken leg bone. The joke of falling made her chuckle as she ate. Happy that she took more food to enjoy as Miky would do the same.

Nasada stopped chewing. She kind of just stood there, staring at Mikaia. Not blinking. Not breathing. She just stared. After a moment, an intake of air started her lungs and she swallowed hard. "Half human.... half.... wolf? As in... a real, flesh in blood... lycanthrope?!" she exclaimed, rather loudly. Once she realized that she may wake others in the house, her voice quieted. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound ignorant. I... it's just... I heard that the lycanthropes died centuries ago. At least... at least in the land I came from." She still stared. This time less in fear and more in amazement. "Wow... this is so.. wow. Really? YOu shift and everything?" The fledgling necromancer finally tore her eyes off of the other, long enough to grab for her drink. "This... Hollow as you call it... what a world..." A gulp washes past her teeth and trickles into her throat, the wine slowly beginning to take effect. She felt the warm glow already. it didn't help matters that she hadn't ever tasted alcohol before this! Nasada would fall silent for a moment as she pondered Mikaia's original words. Had she really lost her soul? It could explain a lot. her sudden change in appearance. The dull lifeless look. her change from bright colorful clothes, to those of a more sinister hue. That fascination with darker magics... Could it really be true? "Maybe." she finally said. "I think... this is something I really need to look into. I... this is alarming."

Mikaia raised a brow as she was quite shocked by Nasada's reaction. Taking a bit bite as she glared to the woman. Chewing her food as she nodded her head, "Oh yes, I can shift alright... Although, I'm not allowed to in the house..." Leaning in towards Nasada she'd say, "They get mad when I ruin clothes and get furr everywhere.." A playful chuckle given to her as she quickly made way out the door and left it wide open. It wasn't only then a few seconds later a rather large and bulky dark brown wolf with black markings came in. "Yes... Lycans have changed.. Our gifts grow stronger with everyone inflicted.." Her voice almost purposely placed inside of Nasada's head. The wolf smirked as she came to sit near Nasada's feet by her chair. Although, Mik's head came to Nasada's chest in just a sitting position. It seemed she felt at home within her wolf body. Letting her big head try to rest in Nasada's lap. What a tame beast she was, almost like a dog really, but way more powerful and gifted. Her tail wagged lightly as those almost neon green eyes looked up at Nasada as she spoke. A gentle nuzzle was given in agreement to her words. "I'll do what I can to help you... Trust me, Nasada, I won't fail you..." Rumbled the lycaness into her head. It seemed Nasada had made quite the ally.

Nasada 's spirits lifted first with Mik's comment hits her eardrum, the worry and confusion melting away to reveal a bit of a smile. When the other took off, a brow rocketed skyward, unsure as to what she should expect. It was then, when that large canine came trodding into the kitchen that Nasada froze. Her feet felt like lead weights in a lake of mud. She couldn't run, even if she wanted to. "MIIIIIK'?!" she called out in a frightened tone, her head leaning to see if she could see the woman just outside the doorway. yet she only understood what had truly happened when Mik's voice penetrated deep within. "By the gods...." she softly mouthed, staring at the wolven form. As the lycan's head fell upon her lap, Nasada slowly, almost hestiant, reached down to pet the oversized pooch behind her ears. "Oh Mik... your wolven form. it's so pretty. And your fur, it's so soft!" she felt easy now. The entire night seemed like one long rollercoaster ride, truthfully! Ups and downs, a surprise at every turn! A gentle smile is offered as she looked over the wolf, "Thank you Mikaia. I appreciate it more than I can express. Fate seems to have been kind enough to bring you and the others that dwell here, into this path I take."

Mikaia loved all of Nasada's reactions. The big chocolate wolf wagged its tail some more as she listened to her words. The petting made the large wolf let out a deep and strong huff from her nostrils. She was content. The beast enjoyed being pet. Even though lycanthropes were rumored to be completely blood thirsty creatures of the night. This was really what most of them were. She was just bitten - not born. The compliments made the wolf fluff up her fur with a shake as she nuzzled her lap again. "Yes, yes, now give me chicken..." Quickly boomed the lycaness as she wagged her tail quicker now. It seemed she just wanted to eat. After she had gotten her fill the lycaness would let out a yawn that smelled entirely of fried chicken. "We'll be friends for a very long time, Nasada... I can tell.." Softly spoke the lycaness as she got up now and gave her hand a small lick. A wink was given as well as she sweetly spoke to her, "Good night my friend, and remember, I'm only a call away..." Lovingly reminded the wolf as she made her way out of the house and off to protect the corpses of the graveyard. A unique soul indeed.

Nasada smiled, giving Mik one last good ear rub as she said, "I hope so. You're a good person, Mik. Look forward to talking with you again." Slowly Nasada stood up, "Good night..." she called out after the lycan, taking a moment to blow out any lit candles in the kitchen as a safety precaution.
