RP:Frostmaw's Royal Ball

From HollowWiki

Royal Academy of Aramoth

The expansive entrance hall of the Royal Academy of Aramoth has transformed: its already decorative depictions embellished with garlands of Winterberries, trophies of polished, horns, sharpened fangs or talons, and glistening pelts, and tapestries in frost white, ice blue, and frostbite black, Frostmaw's royal colors, depicting feats of war, slaying of great monsters, and earnest celebration. Lanterns of Magelight sit scattered throughout the enormous room, each one burning with a different colored fire, giving off an arcane heat that warms the flesh without threatening to burn or melt that which is near. The entrance hall's fluorite floor shines as if freshly buffered, and has been left open to allow room for guests to move about, dance, and merry-make. Along the walls are lines of long, sturdy oak tables, decorated with sprigs of Frostmaw's local plantlife and, most importantly, laden down with mountains of food housed in glistening silver dinnerware. Platters of juicy venison sit side by side with cuts of rich, red steaks, accompanied by a wild variety of sausages, chops, and even a selection of meat-kabobs--while at the center of this immense table resides the centerpiece, an entire mammoth, expertly skinned and roasted to perfection, a Frostmaw tradition. Pies of every sort from the sweetly sour Winterberry to luxurious chocolate, tangy lemon, and savory cherry, gather in militant rows on a table all their own. Nearby is another table devoted entirely to sweets such as fudge, tarts, Snowflake apples, and puddings. Breads, rolls, and even sandwiches of too many types to count have found a home here amid the silver and white displays. Barrels of mead stand at the ready, their labels declaring numerous selections of flavor and strength. Casks of rum are in accompaniment as well, along with a selection of drinks from each of Frostmaw's allying cities: Trist'oth's dark ale, Larket's potent whiskey, Enchantment's levitation lager, Vailkrin's blood wine, and the hearty beer of the Craughmoyle dwarves, to name some. Yet the food and drinks are only a part of the event being hosted tonight, with a stage having been erected between the twin staircases, where a minstrel band of wildly diverse races--is that an orc with a triangle?--devote themselves to providing music for the ball attendees. Over all of this drifts a gentle snowfall, the flakes pristine in their color and strangely without a sensation of cold, instantly disappearing wherever they should fall without leaving water behind.

Thea enters the ball, guards in tow. The Pixie Queen smiles and delivers a gracious nod to the hostess of the festivities. Soon after, attentions are directed to the offered refreshments and a cup of the warming ale looks most inviting.

Thea picked up 1 Warming Ale.

Thea drank a Warming Ale.

Daisy hasn't seen Thea since the kitten took a bath in some alchemical liquids with that guy. Wonder what happened to him. She lifts a paw to wave all the same. For now her tail is behaving.

Misaki slips quietly into the ball. Her emerald eyes, which matched her dress perfectly, gazed around at the people gathered here. Not many were here yet, it seemed. Regardless, she saw her friend Daisy, who she hasn't seen in a while. The avian smiles in the direction of the feline, but otherwise, forn ow she does nothing. She walks quietly over to the refreshment table, ready to find something to eat.

Thea delivers a soft bow of head towards the kitten, forcing a slight smile over full lips that soon allow a sigh to pass. The Pixie gives glance around in search of other familiar faces.

Daisy has on a pretty little green dress too! Only hers is short and whispy. Not like the elegant gowns these other ladies have.

Satoshi, from where she's seated in a high-backed chair of ice, lifts her glass in salute to the Queen of Enchantment. She knows it's no easy trip for a pixie to make to Frostmaw, and the appreciation is obvious on Satoshi's features in the form a a smile that curls her whiskers. The magus herself is in a gown of azure, the bodice of a sweetheart cut, beaded with white and silver in patterns of snowflakes, and studded with tiny flowers of amber. Those same amber flowers as puncuate the curves of her gown's bustle, all in theme with the pendant hanging about her neck and black ice crown upon her head.

Eliason quietly joins the crowd that has gathered for the festival. The acolyte is surprised to find the atmosphere quite warm and quickly sheds his large fur-lined cloak, leaving him standing amidst the others in his finest leather pants and cotton tunic.

Misaki glances around to the people once more... she noticed how plain she must look amidst all the beautiful people, especially with the feline queen sitting upon her throne, who looked radiant. Misaki glanced down at her silky emerald gown, which showed off her shoulders and expoed her back -just enough- so her wings could be seen. She fingered the white embroidery around the neckline of her dress, that made swirling designs across her chest and down her arms and torso. Her white hair was in a single braid going down her left shoulder. Around her left finger was a single silver ring that seemed to glow faintly. Even dressed like this, the avian couldn't help but feel plain next to all the beautiful people.

Satoshi, with all the stealth she can muster at a party, coaxes a snowflake or two to land on Daisy's nose. Simply as a Satoshi-way of saying, 'Hullo, kitten~.'

Daisy spots the avian smile and trots right over there to coo and fawn over how pretty she looks. Her newly aquired tail kind of just drags along behind her. Maybe it will behave and just look like part of her dress. "Misaki! I like your dress." There would be more girl squealing, but Daisy doesn't squeal.

Daisy crosses her eyes to look at those flakes then grins at Satoshi as she licks them away. Her little paws twist into a heart that she aims at the Queen.

Thea 's full lips curve to a knowing grin as she mirrors the gesture from the Frost Queen, cup aloft in toast to her counterpart. The Druidess takes a moment to admire the details of Satoshi's attire before tipping her cup once again. The Pixie Queen herself is dressed in an Emerald hued frock, corsetted bodice further accentuating her already pronounced curves as pail skin nearly spills over the gemstone trimmed top. Her wings protrude effortlessly through the material, which was no doubt tailored exactly to suit such a need as the full skirt falls gracefully just to floor length where a tiny slippered toe peeks out.

Misaki looks up in surprise as Daisy complimented her. It was as if she had completely forgotten she wa there. "Oh... thank you, Daisy," she said with a smile, "I like your dress, too. It suits you."

Eliason is wearing his finest outfit, reserved for only those special occasions upon which he would need to be extravagant. It does not take him long to realize, however, that he is completely out of his element with all the finery about him. He ponders the idea of hanging out with the staff where he will feel less exposed in his pants and tunic.

Thea has pails for skin. That's right. Pails. Not pale. No.

Satoshi said to Thea, "Lovely as always, Lady Pixie~. I'm glad you could make it here. I'd say I hope the trip wasn't too cold, but it's Frostmaw," the kit's tone is one of liquid amusement, "it's -always- cold."

Satoshi wonders if pails are more convenient than pockets.

Eliason figures that a pail would provide easier access to one's personal belongings than a purse would... or pockets for that matter.

Daisy does love a party. Finery or not, a party is a party! And that triangle orc is playing her song! She beams a sunshiney grin in only the way that she can at Misaki and squeezes her hand in both paws. "Dance with me later. I have to say hi to a friend." And there she goes, prancing across the way over to Eliason. "Hi." He is rightly pounced. Little kitten arms wrapping around his neck.

Xannol entered the ball, a fjoyful, fanged smile on his pale face. As he entered, he began unbuttoning his coat, leaving it open, exsposing a plan old black tie hanging around his shirt. He glanced at the faces of those who were here and arriving, some he knew, others, he did not. The vampire shuffled to one side, peering over at the drinks laid out for the crowd to enjoy. But to his loss, he could find no red wine, though his eyes did spy some blood wine. He waited before just strollng up a snatching up drinks. And so he stood, leaned against one of the walls, listening to the sounds of the moment, watching, and waiting to approach those who were known and friendly faces.

Thea chortles a response to the Queen of Frostmaw, "My sincere thanks and likewise admiration to you, dear. Quite fetching..", she confesses, offering a lengthy glance, "and aye, tis cold but I made use of the special cloak a certain Archmage crafted for me some time ago. You've made it comfortable enough here in the academy.", the Druid smiles once more.

Eliason had not seen Daisy amidst the others and as such is quite taken aback when she flings herself at him. A sheepish grin crawls across his lips, however, once he realizes who has actually pounced on him. "Daisy.... Hello to you." The acolyte easily supports the weight of the feline as he takes several deep breaths to slow his startled heart.

Satoshi grins around her glass mid-sip. Once the drink is taken, the magus sets it back down and offers Thea a casual shrug. "I've found that not everyone enjoys napping in snow as I do, it wouldn't be fair to subject them to the cold~." Besides, it gave her ample excuse to tinker with the designs of her Magelight spells, and through multiple events now she hasn't had a mishap with them. Mission accomplished!

Callamyre was nervous about coming to such a great event, as she knew no one in attendance. She only knew two people in Hollow, and one of them was not even speaking to her presently. Fidgeting her fingers around the frayed edges of her notebook, she held the book close to her stomach, and furtively glanced around upon arriving. Those looking in her direction would notice her off-shoulder sleeves, deep-scooped neckline and bust were all ebony lace, with a layered silk bodice, before the gown bustled and fell in graceful panels to her ankles. The further into the great rooms she ventered, the more one might catch a glimpse of her new shoes. She wore little jewerly, just a single necklace which was clearly old, the heavy pendant attempting to reflect the warm lights of the ball. The woman felt quite small in comparison to all the others, but her eyes were glowing with curiosity at all the furried ears she caught sight of. Due to her general awkwardness and overwhelming shyness, the woman decided to linger by the edge of the gathering, her fingers curling anxiously around her book. Hazel eyes were quick, though, as they darted to and fro, consuming all the side conversations and feeling rather exposed despite her modest dress. Calla began to regret coming to such a social event, however, and occasionally let her eyes dance toward an exit.

Daisy steals a kiss from Eliason's cheek before releasing him from her grasp. "I'm glad you came." He is offered a smile before she spins away to the middle of the floor. Why is no one dancing? Yes, yes, It is early. But the music! Oh where is her wizard. She pouts a little, but the spinning sends her into a fit of giggles. Luckily that tail of hers just swishes along behind her. Xannol is spotted and waved to mid-swoop.

Misaki notes the two males who have appeared now. Daisy had run off to greet one, and the other was lurking nearby. Misaki went back to looking down at her pale hands. She usually wasn't good with new people - she honestly wondered to herself, why she came at all.

Xannol raised his newly acquired red wine in Daisy's direction, flashing her a smile and a nod. He'd join her, if not for liquid still being in his glass. He tlts the drink up, sipping away, watching the people interact.

Satoshi is privately grateful for Daisy's presence, as the little ray of sunshine does what she does best: warms up everyone else. When the kittenish druid whirls onto the dance floor, it isn't long before others begin to follow, even a few of the normally stoic giants--Enchantment Lager goes to their heads alarmingly fast, it'd seem. Fortunately, while the Frost Giants' definition of dancing is a good deal of fierce hopping, arm thrusting, and fist pumping, they're not in any immediate danger of stepping on tiny Daisy.

Daisy turns and prances around the room, darting here and there. She nearly runs into Kasyr, but stops short (no pun intended) right in front of him. A curtsy is dropped and left on the floor in front of him before she laughs and dances off. Someone she doesn't know! Callamyre is approached and the kitten presses close. Screw you, personal bubble. "Dance with me!" Large eyes shimmer pleadingly.

Thea watches those on the dance floor and smiles faintly. She gives leave to one of her guards to join the festivities, watching his moves which make a notable impression. He's got the moves like Jagger.

Satoshi would like to point out, a pixie doing the moon walk while flying is -totally- cheating!

Thea would like to point out that Hollow has two moons, so it is -totally- acceptible!

Tiphareth fades into view within an atrous haze, the swirling cloud slowly solidifying into the shape of Keter D'Artes until the Patron's visage forms complete. Iniquitous claret eyes peer about the room as he takes in the various festivities.

Daisy wonders if that would make the dance called moons walk

Eliason cannot help but laugh at the quick arrival and departure of the feline. Her short attention span is always a source of amusement for the man. Sapphire eyes quickly scan the crowd for any other familiar faces. The acolyte is comforted somewhat upon seeing that he is not the only one uncomfortable with such finery all about. Across the way is the woman wringing that book in her hands and eyeing the exit longingly... A little closer to him is the avian that furtively met his gaze a moment ago but cannot seem to keep her eyes in one place. At least he is not the only one... Of course, in the presence of the two queens, anyone could suffer from feelings of inferiority.

Kasyr is, surprisingly enough, not wearing his trenchcoat. Which is almost like a disguise for the revenant, doubly so when one consider's that he's sporting a dapper bit of formal attire, in the form of some black breeches, a matching waist coat- and fanciful silk cravat. Really, the big tip off that it's Kas, is the ridiculous red Fez he's wearing over his ears, and the uncomfortable manner in which he keeps tugging at his neck, as though he's uncomfortable with something other than a scarf or Satoshi hanging off his neck.

Callamyre stumbled back a step when Daisy abruptly approached her. Her hazel eyes grew wide, and she parted her lips as if to say something: unfortunately, nothing immediately came out. During the lapse of speech, her eyes scrutinized the curious creature, from her toes to her nose, and made several mental notes which she would transcribe at a later date in that journal of hers. It was a few seconds before she focused on Daisy's own eyes once more, and stammered out a, "Oh - no, I dare not. I have not ... no, no, thank you." The woman would blush were she capable, but instead, behind that facade of freckles, she visibly paled, and a shy, apologetic smile tugged at the right corner of her mouth. "Thank you for the offer, though," she added, her eyes showing a hint of warmth.

Misaki notices people were starting to dance. The avian couldn't remember ever trying to dance before... but as she watched Daisy and several of the giants dancing, the avian started smiling.

Satoshi's ears perk up at the obsidian haze that materializes itself into the Drow Patron. Her expression clearly says she hadn't expected him to show, and that she's also not displeased by the fact--it's much the same look the Lady of Enchantment had received. But just as quickly, the magus' amber-flecked gazes finds her husband and her face widens with a smile. His discomfort is an almost physical aura she can feel from here. Without a word, she beckons the kensai over, where a second seat like hers resides. "You showed up~."

Thea releases an audible gasp as Keter's frame appears there before her, quite literally taking her breath momentarily. Having grown accustomed to seeing Tiphareth garbed in his mindflayer skull and other acoutrements has allowed the Pixie to nearly forget this visage so rarely seen. The Druidess delivers a curtsy in his direction, averting that emerald gaze to the floor for fear of being locked into those eyes that pierce her heart to this day. "Greetings to you, Sir.", she offers then rises slowly.

Xannol squinted, peering across the room at Eliason and that familiar yet unplacable face. His friendly and curious demeanor got thre best of him. The vampire moved around te dancing guards and giants, and the little feline, and approached Eliason. "Now where do I know you from?"He sad outloud, tapping his finger to his chin. "Didn't I jokingly threaten to snack on you at one point?" Electric crimson eyes looked the man up and down. Such memory, it eludes him so.

Daisy lifts a paw to pet a lock of Callamyre's hair. "You look pretty." She will warm up to you, kitten. Go! Flit away. Away, I say! And she does, circling around Thea with a deep bow of a greeting before crossing that bit of space over to Satoshi's feet. She sits, careful of her tail, and beams up at the icy lady. "You always make everything wonderful." Her warm cheek is rested on Satie's knee. Mmmm. Cool.

Eliason turns to face Xannol as the man approaches, a quick smile forming on his lips at the informal greeting. "Aye, I suppose that you did. And I responded with the generous gift of a glass of bloodwine to sate your ravenous thirst." The big man laughs at the joke and gestures toward the room. "This is a much greater setting than the solstive festival saw, eh?"

Satoshi, as is her habit, pats Daisy's head affectionately--careful not to jostle the crown of frosted flowers the kitten wears. "It's nice to see you too, Sundrop~." It's obvious there is nothing related to personal space or regal demeanor when it comes to Satoshi and Daisy.

Tiphareth meets Satoshi's glance, returning a kind nod in response to the hostess just as she becomes distracted by the revenant. The eldermage soon redirects his attention to his former charge, making a slow path toward the pixie as he responds. "And greeting to you as well." Upon nearing the noble fae, he leans in to offer hushed words.

Kasyr seems to have taken note of Daisy long after she had meandered by- ...mostly after he's finished fighting his cravat. Really, it just sort of leaves him glancing about for a few seconds, before he catches Satoshi's gaze. One hand moves over to his Fez, briefly tipping it in her direction, even as he begins to make his way around the room towards her. Suffice to say, the Kensai's taking the circuitous route, rather than cutting through people dancing. " I would be a poor husband were I to miss this, Madamoiselle." Daisy's re-appearance just has the Kensai squinting. There's something very different about her . . . and it's actually pretty easy to place.

Thea 's cheeks turn crimson at the query, crowned head quickly moving side to side before imparting a likewise reply.

Misaki chews on her lower lip softly. The woman ran a single finger around the silvery designs on her dress. She never thought she'd wear somehting like this... the hunter felt she needed to go put on a pair of pants... perhaps crossdressing would be a good idea? Then again, perhaps not...

Svilfon wanders into the academy looking resplendent in his... well... he's still wearing robes, but these ones are incredibly clean; midnight black with a white fur-trim, with a small insignia on the right side of his chest: the mark of Frostmaw. His hat cannot possibly get more fantastic than it already is, so it remains unchanged. In truth, the most dramatic difference in the generally fashion-blind wizard is the beard he now wears. It's long, oh how it's long - a dwarf would be proud - and though what hair he has tucked insdie his hat is brown, the beard is a light grey and rests down at his belly. Finely combed... not by him, by those who live in Satoshi's home, he cuts the figure of a more... traiditional wizard. He tips his hat to those in the room, offers a beard-hidden gap-toothed grin, before making his way further inside.

Satoshi eyes that fez sitting proudly atop Kasyr's head, almost as if she's trying to gauge how easily an archer could put an arrow through... right up until she flashes him a grin of fangs, approving. The hat, while glaringly out of place, is so very Kasyr that Satoshi can't possibly find reason to complain. Besides, he put on the rest of the outfit she'd had tailored for him, and that delights her as much as his presence.

Satoshi very nearly does an unladylike thing by spitting out her drink, at the sight of Svilfon and that glorious beard. Thankfully, the magus is quick and manages to avoid getting wine all over poor Daisy or Kasyr. Although she's not able to stop the wide-eyed look of astonishment from crossing her face. He has a beard now?!

Xannol chuckled heartedly, "ndeed it was. And that wine was fantastic." Upon hearing the other man's last comment, hear turns toward the crowd, "Oh yes, Of course, that was a last minute thing. This," the vampire held his arms up, "Is much bigger. But fun was stll had at the solstice festval."

Daisy nuzzles into that petting hand. See the little hearts floating above her head. They're totes there. And then the wizard is spotted. THE wizard! And off she goes, padding little feet around the dancing giants to throw herself at Svilfon. "You're here! With the manliest beard ever!"

Thea gives pause to stare at him now, coming to grips with the reality of looking on one face that houses the essence of one she's known for so long. Pale shoulders deliver a near shrug, full lips coming to a genuine smile before finding his lobe once again..

Kasyr return's that grin, before he casually sticks a hand into his waistcoat. to pluck out a rectangular parcel. One he nearly drops when he take's note of Svilfon's appearance. The revenant just can't help but stare, really- and make a sidelong comment of, "He's missing the muttonchops." That aside, he at least remembers that he's holding onto that package- one he now extends towards Satoshi, with a quiet comment of, "A gift for the hostess, on behalf of moi et the wizard."

Tiphareth extends his bent elbow toward Thea in the manner of a traditional escort. "Shall we then?"

Svilfon offers Satoshi a smile and a tip of his hat, makes every possible effort not to look at Kasyr at all, before he strokes his beard and nods at Daisy in a wise, venerable fashion. "Manliest.. yes.. good." He seems distracted for a moment, before he shudders; the expression smothered instantly by a smile at the kitten. "Looking fine you are, lady druid."

Callamyre paled noticeably moreso when Daisy toyed with a rogue curl that had fallen from her pins, and the creature's comment caused her to close her eyes, briefly, in bashfulness. But once she opened her hazel eyes again, Daisy was off on another adventure, this time bestowing her attention upon the hostess. It was only really then that Calla dared a less furtive and more obvious glance around the room, which was quickly filling up with guests. She had heard little of the people here, only that Hollow was, in general, a place filled with danger, and the woman pursed her lips into a thoughtful pucker, self-consciously pushing that wayward tress behind an ear, her curls hooking around to tickle her neck. The vampire-in-disguise continued to, in what she hoped was a casual manner, glance around the fête, noting to herself how each person already seemed to be well-acquainted with everyone else. This, in turn, made her feel even more out-of-sorts, as, despite her work (or perhaps because of it), she did not interact with many new people; she especially did not interact with people of such high-standing. Looking down at her gown, she wondered if maybe she was underdressed for the occasion. After all, there was royalty present!

Misaki smiles a little at Daiy's antics. The amount of energy Daisy was giving off made the Avian feel little more relaxed... though talking to someone she didn't really know, still scared her. And with Daisy off greeting people, the avian was alone. Her pale fingers ran over her braid, and going down to the emerald bow that held it in place. She gazed at the silky ribbon for a moment, then her eyes returned to watching everyone else having fun.

Daisy folds her paws at the small of her back with a lowered chin and a side to side sway. D'aww, she's blushing under that fur. "Thank you." She glances over her shoulder at her tush area. "I found a dress that matches."

Thea accepts the offered arm by sliding her hand gently in the space provided and delivers a nod of confirmation, "Aye, we shall.."

Eliason nods in agreement, his eyes once again roaming about the room, quietly noting all of those present. His eyes linger on Misaki for a moment, smiling as the avian is now appreciating the dancing going on about her. To Xannol, the acolyte replies, "Yes, it was and to be honest, I am more suited to the Kelay Tavern setting. I feel like I should be serving drinks around here or something."

Svilfon leans forward, then, and whispers something quietly for the druid's ears alone.

Tiphareth offers a deep nod in Svilfon's direction, a bit surprised by the newly acquired facial hair... though nothing about the wizard would truly surprise him at this point. Looking back toward Thea, he gestures toward the feast with an outstretched arm. "Would you like any sustenance or refreshment? There appears to be quite a variable selection. "

Xannol waved off the acolyte's comment, "Nonsense. This is a place for all. If you just serve drinks, you'll miss all of the fun and excitement. And maybe a few awkward feeling conversations with some people you don't know." The vampire once again let out a hearty laugh, though this one seemed just a bit forced.

Daisy bites her bottom lip and giggles like a little school girl. The things wizards say! Her grin widens as she wraps her arms around his neck. "My secret forever." Another cheek, another stolen kiss. But look! Misaki is still alone. So what does she do? The wizard is abandoned with promises of dances later so that Misaki can be taken by the hand. "Come!" And whether she likes it or not, the avian is tugged over to Eliason and Xannol. Introductions are made. "Lovelies should know each other." She turns, then searching for more familiar faces.

Satoshi accepts the parcel from Kasyr as she rises to her feet, like her beaded skirts rustle into place around her feet. Now isn't the time to be opening presents, however, so instead the kit sets it down on her seat, where it is promptly enveloped in the chair's ice for safe-keeping. The amber flowers of her gown's bustle glitter as she moves to stand beside Kasyr, black gloved arm slinking up to hook through his while they look at the newly bearded wizard. "...I'm not sure -further- hair would help him. At least the dwarf look works," she offers, trying to keep the amusment out of her voice.

Tiphareth dropped 100 Amazing Aramoth Appetizers.

Alicia waves a hand in greeting to the hostess but refrains from walking over until others have said hello. Instead, she casts her eyes around the quickly filling room.

Svilfon returns the nod to Tiphareth, and the pixie on his arm, offering both a smile as he does. He almost comments on how dapper the Ke-Tiph-er looks, but instead merely tips his hat once more.

Misaki glances over to the refreshment table... she noticed many different kinds of pie there. The avian liked pie... she picked up one of the slices of one she has never seen before. She tentatively took a bite, curious. Delicious.

Misaki picked up 1 Winter Berry-Pie.

Satoshi warns people that eating Aramoth Appetizers will put hair on your chest, beards on your chins, and... well, the rest is a surprise!

Thea is quite impressed by the offerings displayed, evident by a raise of brow, "Oh my it does look quite inviting, hmm? I think perhaps just some dark ale for the now. I do hope it is from Trist`Oth. I've not had any in what seems ages."

Ekhart quietly 'flutters' into the Academy's hall, his pretty slippers making loud noises as his dwarven feet hit the flooring. He observes closely every person here and then, not so quietly, but very, very, VERY stealthily makes his way to the feast where he observes the food very closely, though not even taking a drop for himself.

Satoshi picked up 1 Amazing Aramoth Appetizers.

Satoshi is going to feed one to an elephant, to see if that's where mammoths come from.

Misaki blinks as she was tugged to be introduced to two men by Daisy, still holding her pie. "Um... hello," she said, giving a slight curtsy - doing the best she could without spilling her food on the ground. "I'm known as Misaki."

Kasyr gives Satoshi a sidelong glance, "Just you watch, he's going to make himself sick on appetizers, now."

Thea 's smile meets with the wizard now tipping his hat at she and her escort, dipping her head in greeting then noting that beard! My goodness would Myrall be swayed by that display!

Satoshi wrinkles her nose at Kasyr, a look terribly at odds with her formal attire. "We'd have to find him a Yeti wife, then."

Svilfon snickers quietly as Daisy flees off, hardly surprised, before he wanders over to where all the food rests. Growing a beard built a man-sized appetite, and so he begins to fill a plate, which seems to appear out of nowhere, with a pile of food big enough to feed a small army. Satisfied, he wanders over to the edge of the room to sit down and eat while his pale gaze lazily floats around the festivities.

Tiphareth looks on at the spread of food and drink for a moment, "It would seem unlikely that such a drink would find its way this far from home, but I suppose anything is possible. Unfortunately, I no longer derive any enjoyment from such things as fine spirits... or even a smoke."

Istvan just happened to hear about a party going on today! So here he is, because what party is complete without a mime? That's right, no party. Istvan, therefore, was dressed in his black pants and stripey shirt (no makeup, though, he's not -that- good at mime). He opened the door and took a step forward--and bounced off of nothing. He placed his hands against the nothing, tilting his head at it, then felt around until his hand grasped an invisible doorknob. His body reacted as if he was completely taken aback by this--hadn't he already opened the door?--though his face, as usual, was motionless. He turned the doorknob and stepped through--and bounced off again. He looked down, grabbed the invisible doorknob again and threw it open--and threw it open--and threw it open--and threw it open, each time visibly more frustrated than the last, until he took two steps back, charged the door with his shoulder and punched through however many invisible doors were left, performing a Willy-Wonka style somersault and bouncing to his feet, dusting himself off and bowing to whoever might have noticed.

Kasyr grins wryly, even as he begins to lead Satoshi forward- casually bringing them by that mountainous accumulation of food- and the people thereabouts, "I think he'd end up the wife, Cherie." Kasyr might just have gotten himself within earshot of the wizard, for that.

Thea 's smile fades as Tiphareth's words find her ears, "No? I suppose the pipe I bought you has long since been retired then, aye?", She looks on the crowd with a rather melancholy expression, having briefly forgotten the ethereal state of her former Master. She and Diirohen once had conversations of his lack of physical enjoyment once his lichdom was achieved. What now piques her curiosity, is what does please the Drowlich?

Eliason offers Misaki a formal bow and nervous smile. "Lady Misaki, I am pleased to meet you. I am known as Eli. I was watching you a moment ago, you seemed almost as ill at ease in this situation as I." Once the words leave his lips, the acolyte realizes just how creepy they may have really sounded. His face flushes and he tries to stutter something out to save the situation. "Umm.. I mean... that is.. I wasn't watching you.. I was just... I mean, I noticed.." Finally giving up, he shuts his lips tightly and waits for the avian to run for her life.

Alicia picked up 1 Amazing Aramoth Appetizers.

Svilfon flashes Kasyr a rather unamused, yet secretly entirely amused, scowl as he hears those words.

Misaki snorts softly. "I understand what you meant," she said with a smile, "it is a pleasure to meet you, Mister Eli."

Svilfon noticed Istvan, and offers a leg-of-boar in one hand, steak in the other, parody of applause to the man.

Daisy 's eye is caught by the entrancing of that Istvan. Oh what is he doing? She can only smile. So silly so much of the time. She should say hello. Off she goes! Crossing the room, yet again, in that prancey-dancey manner until FLOOF! Right there in the middle of the floor, right in front of everyone... yes everyone... that tail of hers goes up. Green and blue feathers standing proudly in a large fan behind the kitten take a look at everyone in the room. "Oh god..." She turns, displaying them for the guests while trying to get her obnoxious tush to calm the eff down. Istvan will just have to wait.

Satoshi is, thankfully, already biting into a cherry tart when Kasyr speaks, so she can smother her laugh and do a decent job of masking her grin behind the pastry. Not that this does a damn thing to hide the mirth clearly dancing in her eyes, a mirth that's turned into astonishment at the unusual entrance made by the mime. Such a battle with invisible doors is surely a feat that must be recorded in history!

Xannol quickly introduces himself, "And I'm Xannol. It's a pleasure to meet you." He offered a warm smile to the woman, hoping to ease the stuation and lighten the mood.

Thea blinks several times after taking notice of Ekhart and his..dress? The Queen, not wishing to seem rude averts her gaze to the contents of her cup. Takes all kinds, she supposes.

Eliason takes a deep breath, recovering what dignity he can with his display. "I apologize. I am still ill at ease with all of this formality. But please just call me Eli. Are you enjoying yourself?"

Misaki bows her head to the vamipe. "It is a pleasure to meet you too, Mister Xannol." She glanced around at the people again. "And to answer your question, Mister Eli, I'm just not used to crowds. They make me nervous... and with royalty here, too boot, I feel, well..." She smiled a little sheepishly, "...plain."

Tiphareth shrugs slightly, "I actually smoke it from time to time, just out of habit... but alas it provides none of the enjoyment it previously imparted. I suppose it would be best passed on to a new owner, as such a fine smoking implement is now wasted on me."

Satoshi looks affronted at Daisy's tail display. "You bring a tail more magnificent than -mine-?" Satoshi's aforementioned vulpine tail coils almost meekly out from beneath the amber-gemmed bustle it's been tucked beneath, as if it too wants to see the competition. Oh no, silken fur, no matter how pristinely white, cannot compete with the glorious fantail of a peacock. Those greens! Those blues! It is entirely unfair! ...And it has Satoshi smiling anew, as she blows Daisy a kiss from where she stands arm in arm with Kasyr.

Svilfon cannot help but shift his gaze to look for any avians in the room as Daisy's rather splendid tail fans out in all its considerable glory. He wanted to see if his theory yesterday was correct... even as he shakes his head at himself, before turning to his food.

Kamakio thinks she is too afraid of being stepped on by a giant or...anyone else, really, to venture out into the open. ._.

Xannol waves off the Mister Xannol comment, "oh, please. Call me Xannol. Or Xan, whichever you'd prefer." A smile once more crossed his face, as he turned and reached for his glass of wine that was there the whole time.

Ekhart giggles as he notices the entrance of the mime. If all else fails, at least the mime will be silent, unlike the others. He giggles again, as he rummages in the bosom of his sparkling, frilly dress, 'flittering' around the table with all the food. But still he is so stealthy it is impossible for anyone to notice he is there. Yes, of course nobody notices... Some white chips appear in his hand, small bits of hard ivory, which he throws over the vast quantity of food with a mad cackle. Quick as he can, he then 'flutters' into a corner of the room, barely able to contain his mirth as he waits for someone to break a tooth, so he can retrieve said tooth from under the pillow later.

Daisy pushes and pushes at her tail, but it just won't go down. "I know! I know!" She look up at Satoshi with apologetic eyesmiles then relaxes, catching that blown kiss with a paw and tucking it in the top of her dress for safe keeping.

Svilfon perks up again as he hears Tiphareth's words... a pipe would certainly finish his look! Though, he would probably lose it, so he decides it's best to refrain from commenting.

Thea spies Kasyr and delivers a cordial nod of greeting in his direction before once again addressing her escort, licking her lips in hesitation before finally leaning in and asking quite flatly..

Eliason quickly waves away Misaki's comment. "You think you look plain, Milady? I should say not. You fit in well here." He turns quickly to Xannol. "Don't you think so, sir?"

Istvan scanned the room, identifying with his eyes those that had been his audience, giving each a nod--and a special one to Daisy, who--oops!--was preoccupied suddenly. Isty tilted his head--she hadn't had one of those last time they'd met--but since she seemed busy with that, it was time to go mime-teract with the crowd. He wandered over towards the wizard, leaning on an invisible cane. When he got closer, he stood up, tapped the invisible cane on the table--and then looked down to the ground. He held up his hand and ran his other along an invisible path, as though his cane had just deflated and turned into a noodle. He shrugged, grabbed it with both hands, threw it around his neck and tied it around his collar, turning the cane into an invisible necktie, which he adjusted once and then released, extending a hand to shake with the wizard.

Callamyre 's attention was snared by Istvan's showy arrival, and she looked on in obvious curiosity. When, at last, he completed his debute with a bow, she tucked her book under her left arm, freeing up her hands in order to clap for him; after all, it was worth an ovation. Her smile, though, was still distant, hiding in the right corner of her mouth. She had once been prone to joyfulness, but as of late, it seems her moods were somewhat darker, much more reserved than in the past. Her attention did not linger any further upon the mime, however, and soon enough, her hazel eyes were stumbling around the guests once more. It almost seemed as if she was looking for someone, but she had little faith in actually spotting someone she recognized. As she was doing this, she noticed the alarming amount of tails now being displayed, and her lips formed a thoughtful 'Oh', before she quietly murmured, "Oh, my." Yes, yes, that would definitely be jotted down in her journal later. This whole thing was proving an interesting distraction from the sadness which has recently been plaguing her. Pulling a small, but somewhat more obvious than before, smile to her lips, the befreckled woman tilted her head in amusement.

Xannol nodded shortly after sipping from his glass, "Oh, Most certainly. Better than I."

Svilfon only just refrains himself from wiping his hand on his robes... though they had not spoken, Satoshi's house-wards had given him the look... he better not make them messy after the effort they'd put in making them clean! So instead, he takes out a napkin, wipes his hand, before extending it towards Istvan with a grin that shows his appreciation of the man's skill. He is a little wary about shaking the hand of a man who leans on invisible, noodle turning-into canes, but still, the offer would be returned, even as he nods his head in silent greeting.

Satoshi looks from the chip of ivory lying plainly atop her pastry, to the frilly dwarf culprit, to the Frost Giant guards stationed throughout the room, remarkably unobtrusive for heavily armored humanoids that stand at a nearly twenty feet tall.

Misaki looks down at the ground, her cheeks turning a soft pink as she blushed. "...um, thank you," she said quietly.

Kasyr casually plucks his Fez off his head, before offering a wave to Thea, and her party partner. And then it's simply dropped back onto his head, his ears serving to bounce it around a bit, before it settles squarely in place. Alicia's offered a more reserved nod, though the Revenant doesn't really wait to see if she catches it. Instead, the Revenant's attention simply drifts down to the sheathed blades resting at his hip- to pat at their hilts. Their presence was somewhat reassuring. Certainly moreso than the cravat. If he needed to breathe, the damn thing would have choked the life out of him.

Thea listens thoughtfully, digesting this information before allowing a smile to creep over those full lips that part with a softly uttered, "I see.."

Svilfon shifts his gaze briefly to Satoshi, and lofts a brow he wishes was white and bushy, but instead is the normal colour of his hair. A silent question as to whether she wants him to remove the ivory.

Istvan

Satoshi glances at Kasyr's hand patting the blades on his belt, and her own slips from his arm to pat Ko'tar's hilt in return. She might be dressed in a gown, wearing jewelry, and with her normally free hair pulled up into a decorative display, but that doesn't mean she's going to leave the sword behind. Especially since she's under the firm impression that Ko'tar's frozen hilt matches nicely with her outift--she hardly -needs- a blade to be able to fight, after all.

Svilfon absently tips his hat to Kamakio as he spies her on the edges of the room. Clearly, he approves of her choice in hatwear.

Istvan 's name floats ominously around the room, apparently.

Satoshi meets Svilfon's silent question with a nod. Do your thing, wizard~.

Eliason stands awkwardly for a few moments, unsure of what else to say. Obviously he had embarrassed the woman with his actions and words. Silently, he berates himself for acting like a fool. Trying to recover the situation once more he lifts a hand toward the people dancing. He intends to ask her if she enjoys watching people dance, but the words actually come out more like, "Would you like to dance?"

Xannol smled wdely at the acolyte's comment. He took a few steps beack, in case the two rushed off for the dance floor.

Daisy gives up on trying to make her tail behave and kind of. Er. Waddles? Over there to Istvan and Svilfon. Don't laugh! You try to walk with one of these things sticking out of your caboose. At least it matches her dress. That covers all her bits. How do tails and clothes work anyway? Hrm... Right! So she goes up to Istvan and, "You came!"

Misaki looks at the name floating aorund the room. "So that's how it's spelled."

Ekhart casts a glance at the nearest guard and giggles again. Because there is no way the guard can see him, nobody sees him. He is so very stealthy, you wouldn't believe how stealthy he actually is.

Misaki miles softly. "Sure," she said, setting her pie down, "I'd love to dance."

Svilfon grins briefly at the nod, before offering Istvan a brief smile of apology. He turns from the mime as his hand extends and plucks from the air itself his Double terminated Tanzanite point wand. It was a ball! His wand was going to be the fancy one he acquired not that long ago. With a few quiet words and a deft gesture of the magical impliment, he waves its tip over the food. A dull light, almost un-noticable unless you're looking right at it, springs up around the feast, before wrapping itself around the ivory. Svil was, after all, rather careful with anything that costs people their teeth... he knows what it's like better than anyone to lose them... so he ensures he gets almost every last bit - some may slip through - before he motions once more with the wand. The ivory collects into a nice pile that resembles a statue of a wizard. Not that wizard statues are an obsession of his. And there it remains, looking for all the world like it's guarding the food... perhaps it is.

One of the guards stares at the giggling dwarf, blinks heavily, rubs his eyes, and promptly looks away. It's impossible to tell whether this is because Ekhart is actually super stealthy, or the poor, sheltered Frost Giant is too bewildered to know what to do.

Mark had been walking about earlier, attempting to investigate the tavern at which he had so mysteriously gained consciousness in just two days earlier. Upon reaching his destination, however, he was greeted by an unexpected... and large stranger. As he headed for the tavern door, a wyvern caught his attention with the flapping at its wings. Mark too but a moment to look at the creature before he decided it was best to continue with what he was doing. Insistent that the it was what he was looking for, however, the Wyvern caught him by the pant leg and took to the skies. Being one not to panic, Mark simply crossed his arms as he pondered his current situation. If he attacked the wyvern, he'd end up as a pancake somewhere in the forest below so he really had no choice to accept what he presumed to be an invite to the creature's nest for dinner. It wasn't long before a wyvern was could be seen in the skies of Frostmaw carrying what looked like a piece of black cloth in its mouth. Wherever they were headed, the darkly clad man hoped that they'd arrive soon before any more blood rushed to his head. As if in response, the sound of tearing cloth caught Mark's attention. Before he could try to take back what he was saying, however, he was already plummeting towards an unknown building covered in ice and snow. From within, the unwary patrons of the festival within were busy eating, drinking, and chatting. One patron, despite the ice and snow, noticed a growing dark shape outside although he couldn't make it out. Turning to one of the other nearby patrons, he points up at the large windows and asks, "Hey, what's that?" Curious, a few other nearby patrons look in the indicated direction and too notice the dark shape that seems to be rapidly approaching and comment their opinions, "It's a crow." "It's an airship." Outside, just as Mark hit the building he thought to himself, "It's going to hurt." Sure enough, the man crashed through the large window of the large academy, causing pieces shattered glass and ice to be scattered about while the poor man flipped and tumbled across the floor until finally a wall promptly stopped the man in his tracks. As if answering the unasked question, Mark sounds almost a bit annoyed as he mutters aloud, "Yes. It hurt." He coughs, leaving a small blot of blood on the wall before he blacks out in a tattered mess of the black cloth that adorned his body and growing pool of his own blood. Somewhere amongst the hushed surprise of the party, a voice can be heard scolding someone, "Aren't airships ahead of our time?"

Tiphareth leans in toward Thea, "Excuse me for a moment..." then makes his way toward the hostess and her companions. Nods are offered to Satoshi, Kasyr and Svilfon as he approaches. Not wanting to interupt, he awaits the opportune time before the resonant voice of Tiphareth emerges from within Keter's youthful form. "Greetings... all of you, it has been some time since I've had the company of any one of you. I trust you've been well?"

Eliason 's eyes widen in genuine surprise at her answer. "Umm, okay then.. ," he manages to stutter out. Recovering himself quickly, however, he extends a hand to the Lady. This he can handle, no words, only actions. Careful to lead her to an area away from the bouncing giants, he extends one hand out and sets one on her side waiting for her to become comfortable before moving.

Ekhart gazes at the pie the avian ranger just set down. Now here's a chance... He hops up from his crouch, and 'flutters' over to where she set it down, jumping on top of the table and thumping over it on his way... He laces the pie with more pieces of ivory from his bosom and returns the way he has come, cackling madly and absolutely sure nobody noticed him doing that.

Istvan whirled around to face Daisy when she spoke, and nodded. He turned and moved over by her shoulder and gestured a big rectangle in front of them, then peered at it closely, using a finger to point out where his eyes were. He then stabbed at the invisible rectangle and jumped back, making a bursting gesture above his head with the other hand. Then he ran in place, opened an invisible door, and sat down--in the air--crossing one leg over the other, even, impressive! Then he stood up, bowed to an invisible person, and ran in place a little again, then briefly reenacted his battle with the invisible doors, minus the somersault. The story of how he got here complete, he turned back to Daisy and gestured with both arms wide at her, then tilted his head and pointed at her tail, turning both palms upward, a question.

Misaki looks around in shock to the man who had come in through... the window? And was now lying in a pool of his own blood. "Oh, my," she said, startled. The ranger pulled away from Eli with a quick "I'm sorry" and she ran over to the man, nearly tripping over her dress as she did so. A soft blue light was gathering around her left hand in her panic - her healing abilities, however meek, she was ready to use to help.

Xannol Backs up even further, taking a slight bow, "I'll leave you two, to it." After which he made his way over to a wall, no one wall in particular, and leaned against it. resuming his watch of the activities.

Alicia raises an eyebrow at the dark clothed man's abrupt and somewhat unseemly entrance. "Glad I'm not clearing that mess up," she mutters before returning her gaze to the rest of the guests.

Istvan was momentarily distracted by a window smashing, but since it happens all the time here, he didn't look twice.

Svilfon offers Tiphareth a small smile, "Well enough, Master Mage." An ambiguous enough title in case the drowlich didn't want the truth advertised. "It has been too long." He grins again at that. In the middle of asking, "How fares yourself?" Mark makes his dramatic entrance. The wizard, having lived in Frostmaw for years, grins at the man, before looking back at Tiphareth. It seems little surprises him now about the chaotic nature of this frozen kingdom... even when it's its guests.

Kasyr would have sauntered over to Mark's body to poke at him with a sheathe, likely in whatever wound was the most prominent (given that they can double as emergency science sticks)- but Tiphareth does a pretty good job of arresting the Kensai's attention. The voice clicks, as does the memory of Tenebrae's going away party- which explained that whole, definite sense of familiarity he got at a glance, "Well enough, j'suppose. How have tu been faring?"

Meri is here. She just strolls in. It's a boring entry. The blonde's entire purpose of being here was because Raphaline asked her to be. Something about her playing. Meri took the time to get gussied up and everything. Where was that bard anyway? The blonde looked around and saw nothing of the half-elf. She was also told there would be free drinks. Since her Muse is not here to harass, she does the next best thing. She drinks. After she locates a drink, she sets about her work.

Eliason mutters in frustration. If one were close enough they would hear the acolyte uttering some not-so-polite words to the Gods about their treatment of a loyal servant and their awful timing. He watches the retreating form of Misaki as she heads over to work on the bleeding man. With a sigh, he turns back and makes his way back to Xannol. "Well, that sucked!" Is all he can say.

Callamyre was growing more and more uncomfortable as the room continued to fill with people. As such, she inched backwards and ducked around the leg of a Frost Giant, quite gracefully despite her cumbersome skirts, and moved toward the tables laden with food. Although none of the offerings appealed to her, she took to occupying herself and pretending to search for something to eat. Eventually, the woman took up a fluted glass filled with, well, she really did not care, she just wanted to look like she was enjoying herself. Everyone else seemed preoccupied, and here she was, completely out of sorts in the present company. So many peculiar people milled about or danced, and vacantly she picked up on their conversions with her acute hearing. As it stood, though, she was hoping to drown out most of that in order to truly enjoy herself: sometimes the sounds were just so deafening. Swallowing past a lump of anxiet that had settled in her throat, she took her glass and meandered toward the edge of the gathering once more, occasionally taking a sip of the drink to keep busy.

Kasyr shoots a look at Svilfon, who managed to get the upperhand in the conversation (By not having the last word)..

Satoshi's weapon is halfway out of its sheathe before the window-shattering stranger has even hit the floor, her expression unnaturally devoid of emotion as narrowed eyes follow his trajectory. When the wall serves to stop him and blood begins to pool, Satoshi's hand released Ko'tar and instead is lifted to gesture toward a guard. No words are needed, the giant simply nods, backs away, and retreats to find one of the Academy's shamans. Misaki is quicker to the punch however, so that by the time an aged feline arrives carrying a medicine bag, the avian is present. Whoever the freefaller is, Satoshi seems to think he's in good hands now--or doomed to be in worse hands, if his arrival turns out to have been malicious in nature. Nodding at this, her divided focus once more finds the Eldermage even while one ear remains cocked in Mark's direction. "Quite well, Patron, thank you. And thank you for attending~. It's always good to see you, we all so rarely get to cross paths."

Daisy blinks at Istvan and his miming. Well this is new. Charades were never her thing so she has no idea what he is on about. She does understand the questioning of her tail. There is always a questioning of her tail. Damn Kuzial. Her lips part to explain when that crashing of the window happens. Not wanting to be damaged, the tail quickly folds down behind the kitten, leaving her defenseless against any flying shards of glass. Of course one jabs her right in the arm. Blood! Blood gushes all over her new dress!

Svilfon does his best to ignore how synchronized his and Kasyr's words were... he's still a little fragile from yesterday, it seems. Next they'll be completeing each others sentences... he shudders.

Nowfaleena trailed into the ball, running a bit late. But that was what she got for bringing her children with her. Strend had fussed at having to put on dress clothes, and Lyla had taken forever to get ready, and insisted on doing her mother's hair in an extravagant up-do held together with onyx hair pins. Strend's wrist was held firmly in one hand, as the boy complained and continuously asked when the fighting would begin. Lyla's hand was gripped in her mother's other hand, and the girl looked around in awe. Each of the twins appeared around thirteen years of age. Strend was more elven looking in his features, with the only signs of feline heritage being a tan furred tail, and retractable claws. His sister also bore those marks of felinism, as well as the tufted ears of a caracal. Strend wore a white dress shirt, and black trousers, with silver buckled shoes. Lyla wore a simple white dress, tied with a cream colored sash. Her shoes were the same cream color. Their mother wor a snugly fitted black, velvet gown, and a pair of silver buckled heels, black, of course. Anyway, they made their way into the ball, directing her children to a vacant table, "Now, stay out of trouble." She warned them, "And don't wander off. I want to be able to see you at all times among the crowd!"

Callamyre also adds in that, upon Mark's nontraditional arrival, she turned back toward the main room in alarm, but as it appeared someone was already tending to the fallen man, she kept her own expertise on such things to herself.

Satoshi offers to get Kasyr and Svilfon a room. A honeymoon suite, even, free of charge~.

Xannol pats the man on the shoulder, "Ah.. But not all is lost, friend." He stepped away a monet, return with an ale, "Here. Lighten your mood and don't worry." The vampire took a sip of his own drink, before glancing over at Misaki and the man lying on the floor.

Nowfaleena glanced about for familiar faces, ears twitching in search of voices she would recognize. It was more difficult, though, to find those one knows amidst a crowd. And she didn't want to stray too far from her sulky son and awestruck daughter.

Ekhart 'flitters and flutters' merrily over to the scene of the accident to see whether this poor, poor old chap has lost any of his teeth. It would seem he has, though nothing that cannot be repaired by a good healer. Very stealthily, Ekhart places his pillow over the tooth on the ground and then hops around it, waving his wand (the diamond mallet) in a few circles, performing the magical rites that go with this, without anyone seeing him do it!. He then reaches into the bosom of the dress again and hauls a coin from very deep under the beard that is tucked into the dress for convenience. Quick as a flash, and completely unnoticed he grabs the tooth from underneath the pillow and replaces it with the coin, before happily picking up the pillow and 'hovering' back to the corner.

Eliason turns back to the party, taking the tankard of ale from Xannol. Taking a quick drink, he gestures toward the man upon whom Misaki is currently working. "That was something, eh? No lack of excitement around here. If I had properly studied my healing arts instead of concentrating on sword-work, I'd lend a hand."

Alicia smirks at Satoshi's comment. "You appear to have lost your husband to a bromance, my Lady."

Callamyre felt remarkably overwhelmed by everything, and her head was spinning. Anxiety welled up in her, constricting her chest and throat, and she quietly snuck off into an adjoining room.

Istvan took in a sharp breath as Daisy is suddenly hit with a rogue shard of glass! Oh no! His mind flashes through several possibilities--A, do nothing. That would be seen as callous by pretty much everybody, even though he knew she could take care of it herself. B, offer to help--that would require slipping out of character, something he wasn't quite willing to do yet. C, take her arm in his hand and look closely at it, then look up at her and point to the wound, then himself, then the wound again, asking if she wanted his help with it without having to speak. If he could smile, he would--best solution taken.

Satoshi, in a moment of sudden inspiration, pauses in her conversation between mage, wizard, and kensai to turn and face the section of floor now littered with glass. For a moment the magus grows still before a soft humming can be heard coming from her, a series of lyrical words hidden beneath the sound. Her form is outlined in a haze of azure light, tendrils of which reach out to begin plucking up the glass pieces with surprisingly deftness and speed. In short order, the remains of the window have been collected, rearranged, and sealed in a thin layer of ice. Proudly, Satoshi places the object on the table to sit beside Svilfon's ivory wizard: a glass fox, standing proud. All cleaned up~.

Satoshi said to Alicia, "One of my own creation too, I fear!"

Xannol shook his head, "I've no idea what just happened, or who that man is. But absolutely what a scene. Though, I'm not sure what he was trying to accomplish." Finally, he had finished that glass of wine he'd ben working on for some time now

Svilfon tips his hat to Satoshi with a crooked grin hidden beneath his beard, appreciation of her statue to stand beside his own.

Svilfon is not amused at Alicia's words!

Eliason takes another long pull at his ale before shaking his head and speaking. "It's a cruel joke, that's what it is. For some reason the Gods hate me today." The words are spoken jokingly, though the acolyte silently wonders at the truth to the them.

Satoshi can't be sure, but she thinks the statue of Aramoth positioned directly behind Eliason might have frowned.

Eliason is quite sure that if he had seen that he would have fainted dead on the spot.

Tiphareth grins slightly, the look a bit devious rather than sincere, though he is genuinely glad to hear they have been well. The mirrored responses of Kasyr and Svilfon seems to amuse him slightly... how much time have they been spending together. "It is good to hear all is well for you all... So, what do we have to look forward to in the coming days of this grand festival? I hear many events abound.".

Mark :: The man in a pool of his own blood didn't have the attention of the partygoers for long as the hushed silence returned into a lively chatter again in no time, some patrons simply shrugging their shoulders at the scene, others exclaiming how fantastic of an entrance the unknown man has made, while others whispered amongst each other about how tacky his clothes were and how he was obviously desperate for attention with an entrance like that. Only a few still had their attention on the strange man. While a female was rushing to Mark's Aid, there was already a couple just standing over him, staring at the man and his blood. The man, wearing a rather nice looks suit, pours his glass of wine on the unconscious Mark, turns to his female companion and says "Did you know alcohol is good for treating wounds?" The female seems ecstatic over her first aid lesson while Mark remain unmoving in his own self-made lake. A rather large piece of glass was embedded in his shoulder, but he wasn't awake to feel it. A hobbit happens by however and takes a moment to look at his glass, opening his mouth and parting his lips with his fingers to check if he had any food stuck in his teeth in the reflective surface of the glass before moving on to converse with other patrons.

Thea too seems quite intrigued as she stands by Tiphareth's side quietly awaiting the reply to his query.

Daisy doesn't even notice Istvan anymore. She is very busy being in pain and trying not to bleed all over the place. Thanks to Satoshi, the glass is plucked out and carted off with the rest of it, leaving only the wound for Daisy to fix. A pet of her thumb and a few swipes of her tongue stops the bleeding. Lucky there wasn't too much blood. Who worries about vampires anyway? Not to be brought down by the events, she looks back to Istvan and smiles.

Thea was absent when any shenanigans regarding broken glass took place, otherwise she would totally be healing someone likely.

Nowfaleena spotted Xannol, and if he looked her way, a small wave would be given before she turned to her children, "You may mingle. But stay out of trouble, and in my line of sight." Strend grumbled, crossing his arms, "Nothin to do here anyway. Just a bunch of stuffy people in dress up clothes." Lyla rolled her eyes, "Oh, Strendy. It's such a romantic thing, though! A ball!" She sighed at that, and her mother bore a bemused smirk as she headed off in Xannol's direction, "Hello." She greeted the vampire.

Kasyr glances between Satoshi and Alicia, before he pulls out a pack of cigarettes from his waistcoat. Suffice to say, the lack of input required from him in this conversation frees him up for smoking and looking miffed.

Xannol shudders for some reson, 'I.. I don't think so. Perhaps it's a way of saying it's too crowded. Perhaps wait for a place less crowded. Like.. Kelay Tavern. Easy going.. Music playing.. Very few people. Perhaps the moment was not right friend. But what do I know? I've been alone, literally, for years. When came to this land, I just wanted to be friendly with everyone after not having anybody. That, and to prove a point. But what I'm saying, is don't let one moment ruin everything."

Misaki pulls her dress up over her knees so she can kneel into the blood to examine the man's wounds. She clicked her tongue in a strange fashion as she noticed the glass shard in the man's shoulder. "He's going to need more alcohol than one glass," I said, "several strips of bandages, and hope on the gods he'll survive." Her hand hovered over the man. Several of the smaller wounds reacted, closing on the spot. The novice healer's eyes twitched slightly. She was really out of practice - she'd need help, in order to save this man's life. Xannol then turned back over his shoulder, greeting his feline friend, "Nowfaleena, hello." A smle overcame his pale face.

Svilfon very nearly asks Kasyr for one of those, especially after seeing Tiphareth's slight amusement over something that is no laughing matter!-, but instead he merely stands quiet, waiting to hear what the queen has to say.

Satoshi's hands have all the stealthy quality of Ekhart as one weasels its way up and behind Kasyr, where it gives his tail a firm yank. It's silent Satoshi-ese for, 'Stop pouting, you big baby.' After all, she can't exactly -say- that, when she's busy answering Tiphareth's question, "A variety of things, really. I've arranged a snowball fight in the arena for the less bloodthirsty folks, there's also to be a casual dance in the gardens. A sled race with wyvern-drawn sleighs, a few types of combat, and a joust, to name a few. It's my aim to offer a little something for every type, let folks see what Frostmaw has to offer beneath its frozen danger~."

Satoshi's feline shaman will earnestly aid Misaki in any way the woman can. Being employed at the academy of Aramoth and being a resident of Frostmaw means this aged healer has seen a wide variety of trauma.

Istvan :: Well, that took care of that. Istvan looked around--whatever audience he'd had was gone. No reason to mime anymore. The camera stayed still, pointed at where his chest was. He ducked down, offscreen for just long enough to remove his mime shirt and jump back up into the screen, now wearing a white, dressy collared shirt, a jacket hanging folded on his arm. Why? Because it's a perfect camera trick for the situation and admit it, you can all totally see it in your heads. He waved to Daisy and opened his arms to hug her. "Hola, señorita Daisy," he greeted her vocally. "It's been something of a while, hasn't it?"

Nowfaleena offered a slight smile as well, "How are you, Xannol?" She questioned, before feeling a tug at her hand. Turning, she saw her daughter, who was staring at the vampire, "Mama..." The young half breed murmured, "He's a vampire...they killed Daddy." Her mother sighed, "As I've recently learned..." She replied, "Not all vampires are as evil as the ones who took your father from us."

Meri eventually sneaks off to chain smoke rather than lurking about like an awkward wallflower.

Satoshi would happily correct Nowfaleena on that incident, if she knew who they were talking about.

Nowfaleena would still blame vampires, even if Satoshi corrected her, since Strend Sr. wouldn't have needed killed if he hadn't been turned vampiric himself.

Kasyr snap's his fingers, a faint trail of electricity sparking into existance around his index- if only so he can bring it to the tip of his cigarette. He manages to light his smoke, sure, but he also quite nearly sears off an eyebrow; Satoshi's yank' causing him to abruptly twitch. And his pack of cigarettes are no more fortunate, as they're jerkedly tossed up upto the air. Suffice to say, it's enough that the Kensai offers a tilt of his Fez- and then promptly sidesteps to go and fetch it before it falls in the food. Or into a punch bowl! That'd ruin ruin his smokes, ..And, y'know. The punch. But. Details!

Xannol smiled a bit uneasy at the child's comment, then look at the feline, "I'm sorry should, I go somewhere else? "He questioned, not wanting to upset her cubs. As soon as he finished his sentence, a different smell filled his lungs.

Svilfon offers those he's talking to a brief smile, "If you'll excuse me." He tips his hat to them all, before wandering around the room. He offers grins and greetings to those he knows, hat-tips to those he does not, and keeps a loose eye on what's going on. For curiousity's sake, more than anything else - he has no fear of danger here, with three of the most powerful mages, the most powerful druid, the... well... Kasyr... all standing around. He is content to merely walk and enjoy the sights of new people in Frostmaw, picking out as he does potential people to face in combat during the next few days. (ooc Idle time, folks! Breakfast!)

Daisy 's tail decides the coast is clear and then floofs up once again right when she wraps her arms around Istvan's middle for a hug. "Too long of a somethinged while." Lucky for her, small shards are small and druid arms heal quickly.

Ekhart still sits in the corner, shifty eyed and giggling occasionally. Twirling his diamon 'wand', his eyes wander over the whole hall, waiting for someone to break a tooth, or possibly, maybe, perhaps a chance for someone to lose a tooth otherwise. His pillow needs more teeth...

Mark :: Yet still there was no reaction from the unconscious Mark as he was being tended to. The couple that had stood there for a few moments no longer found the scene entertaining and chose to wander off to chat with other patrons, the man calmly telling his partner, "He'll be fine. It's not like he was attacked by a pigeon or something."

Istvan held her close for a moment, then, continuing to hold her hands in his, he nodded to her backside, which was staring him in the face. "Long enough for you to acquire a new... ah..." He floundered for words and failed miserably to come up with a colorful euphemism. "...tail," he finished, lamely.

Nowfaleena shook her head at Xannol's question, though her daughter was still clinging tightly to her, "No. They need to learn what I have. There are -some- good vampires." She still didn't care for the race, but there were exceptions.

Misaki glares in the direction of the couple. "...idiots," she muttered to herself, turning back to the unconsious once. She nodded once to the feline shaman, quietly indicating the wounds that had glass shards. She was already closing the wounds that didn't have anything in them... her gown, completly forgotten, was soaking up the blood, giving her dress a weirdly brownish-greenish-reddish look around her legs.

Daisy shakes her tush a little, swishing the feathers about. "I helped a necromancer." That is all she says since that is all the explination most people need. Got a weird thing going on? Mention necromancers. Heads tilt back then nod with an 'ahhh' sound. Yep. That is all you need.

Xannol glancd over toward Mark and Misaki's direction for a moment, beore returning his attention to the feline. "Yes, some,' he agreed with her, flashing the friendly mile he could , toward the little one, hoping he doesn't futher scare the cub.

Satoshi gestures at the band of minstrels, a signal for them to start a new song--that triangle-wielding orc was getting to curious about Mark's stability and edibility, she noticed. In response, the musicians begin an upbeat melody, a twist on a traditional Frostmaw folk song that is notorious for getting boots tapping and bodies moving. It's a clear invitation for those not yet dancing to pay the floor a visit, and perhaps learn a new move or two from the others joining in.

Nowfaleena looked to her child, explaining once more, "He's a friendly vampire...he even helped protect me from one of the not so friendly ones." Lyla offered a small smile to the vampiric male in return. Her mother's focus shifted to Mark, and she sighed, "What have I gotten into?" She grumbled, the injured man being a guest at her house. Meanwhile her son was finding the injured man interesting, watching him closely, facinated by the blood.

Istvan was in fact one of those people who didn't get necromancers and so was one of those who did in fact tilt his head back with an "ahhh" sound and nod. Yep. Just as predicted by the formula. He lifted one hand above her head, an invitation to twirl--he didn't mind if feathers got in his face. "Well, they suit you wonderfully. Very pretty." Slight pause. "I believe," he said, then paused again, "I promised you a dance at some point," he said, listening to the music.

Xannol saw the child, intruiged. "That I did," he said as he lifted his top hat, and bowing slightly to the young one. "She was truly evil, and I can't see harming other people in such ways."

Svilfon makes his full way around the room, just as the music begins to pick up a rather dancible tempo. He continues his greetings to folks, before making his way back to where Satoshi, Kasyr, Tiphareth and Thea stand. He pauses for a moment, before asking, "A dance, anyone?" He very pointedly does -not- look at Kasyr while asking this.

Satoshi, for Kasyr's sake, accepts the wizard's offer with a little wave and nod.

Daisy brightens with the new song. She does indeed twirl with a paw in that offered hand, giggling an apology when the feathers ruffle Istvan's face. "You did!" And he is tugged out to the dance floor.

Nowfaleena smiled as her daughter offered a small curtsey in return. The girl murmured a soft, "Well, then, thank you." Her tail swayed and ears twitched. Her mother's focus turned to her son, "Strend! Stop staring." She sighed softly as her son huffed and crossed his arms over his chest again.

Svilfon grins at Satoshi, before extending his hand to take her own. When given, he'd make his way with her towards the middle of the room, weaving around the people there already dancing. He offers Satoshi a brief bow and another small smile, "Lady Icicle."

Satoshi is led onto the dance floor by the wizard, and is silently grateful is glorious new beard isn't floor length, lest they have to worry about stepping on it. When the right spot is reached, the magus pauses, places her hands appropriately--minus an affectionate flick of Svilfon's shoulder, just to say hi. "Well, wizard, let's see what you can do~." Oh, she so wanted to say, 'Show me what you taught my husband~.'

Mark stirred in his unconsciousness a good while after the healers had been about their work. He simply sits straight up, gets up to his feet and opens his eyes as though nothing had happened. He takes a moment to observes his surroundings, left, then right before looking down at the pool of blood at surrounded him on all sides before turning his head to the two healers responsible for ensuring his health was not reset along with all of his other stats. He offers a hand to the two kneeling healers, but no words.

Istvan wasn't tugged too hard--he was perfectly willing to go dance with her--and followed her out to where the dancing was happening. He continued to hold her hand and placed his other on her side (or... wherever it was supposed to go for this sort of dance, considering that while the character knows what he's doing the narrator certainly doesn't), listening for the downbeat before leading her into the dance, of whatever sort they happen to be doing. I should take lessons.

Xannol continues to smile, "Well, in return, your mother is one of a few people to show me true generosity." He turned his gaze to Nowfaleena, "And for that, I am thankful."

Misaki stands up on her own. "Are you alright?" she asked, "you should it somewhere so we can..." all at once, the energy she used to heal the man caught up with her, and she started to sway, and she fell down into the pool of blood, her shiny white hair turning red with the blood soaking up into it.

Ekhart stands up again and 'flutters' round the table again, before looking straight at one of the giant guards. A smile appears on his face as a plan forms in his mind. He takes another handful of ivory chips and throws them gleefully up in a shower of white sparkles as he hops over the table, making his way to the giant. He has noticed the teeth of the giant are rather badly taken care of and probably prone to falling out, though perhaps in need of some persuasion. He 'flies' up to the guard's face by climbing up his leg, hauling himself up by the belt and crawling over the giant's uniform to eventually come face to face with him. "If you want some coin for your teeth... all you have to do is place them underneath the pillow you know..."

Nowfaleena watched as her daughter continued to grin at teh vampire, "Well, my mama is just a good person like that~" She chimed, swaying her tail to the music. Strend was up and moving toward Mark now, "Wow, that was alot of blood!" He exclaimed.

Daisy places her hands appropriately as well and easily takes to the dance. Specifics are never needed with these sorts of things. You just watch and smile and know the spinning good time is oh so much fun. Not only does the kitten dance with Istvan, but she spins round and round with Satie and Svil as well! Her dance with Istvan beautifully complimenting the other pair's moves.

Svilfon offers another smile, this one perhaps a shade tight... almost as if he knew what she wanted to say... they do have a habit of knowing such things. But soon enough, after his shoulder is flicked, his own hands too well placed, he speaks. "As you wish, Satoshi queen." Without pause he begins to move upon the ballroom floor; his movements graceful for a wizard as he leads Satoshi around, mixing amongst the other dances easily, almost as if they were not there. Though he doesn't dip her as he did... well... as he showed someone how to do yesterday, he does spin her once in a tight circle, even as he grins. "A fine ball you host, lady icicle. Though, I do not doubt Aramoth will be wanting a different kind of dancing to be done soon." His face beneath the beard brightens at this... he's looking forward to facing new folks in Frostmaw.

Svilfon says to Daisy as they pass her, "You, lady druid, are going to be next." The words are accompanied with a smile.

Daisy flashes a sunbeam at Svilfon. "I look forward to it, manliest of Wizards."

Xannol nodded, "Yes she is." His attention was drawn by her son, more notably, what he said. He glanced over, jus as Misaki fell. He began to come to her aid, bt he just froze, staring at the scene before him.

Xannol wants Svl to take him by the hand, take him somewhere new..

Misaki knows that reference and feels awesome. ^_^

Mark lifts the feline healer to her feet while the other falls into the pool of blood. The first thought that crosses his mind is, "Isn't it a bit early to be swapping bodily fluids?" But it was no time for jokes, the poor female was getting red highlights as everyone else partied around them. While hobbled by the loss of blood, Mark still manages to reach down to pick up the fallen healer and carry her, princess style, to a free seat where he seats her. Again, he takes a look about the strange surroundings, the events of the fall from the wyvern still replaying in his head as he did so. While some faces catch his eye, he's only able to identify one. His mechanical gaze turns back to the woman drenched in blood and he just seems to stand there for a few moments, doing nothing. It takes a moment of time before he acts, bringing up his tatters cloak and tearing a piece off to begin wiping the crimson liquid off the woman, starting with her face.

Satoshi doesn't notice the predicament of one of her guards. The poor lad is under strict orders not to harm anyone unless they were being openly hostile. Is a dwarf in a frilly dress, asking for teeth under pillows, considered hostile? The giant just can't be sure! Instead of answering, for fear of the dwarf's response, the guard instead plucks Ekhart up by the back of his dress and lowers him to the ground. This is where Ekhart is then nudged with an armored boot to encourage him to scurry off elsewhere, as if he were some sort of deranged bunny rabbit liable to bite. And Satoshi is unaware of any of it, her attention on dancing with the wizard, matching his steps and timing those twirls with her own fluid movements. "Soon, dear wizard, soon~," she replies with a laugh. One can hardly forget the purpose of this festival, with Aramoth's stern face looking out from every niche in the room.

Istvan dances with Daisy for a long time! Because his writer has to eat dinner. He'll be back shortly!

Xannol thinks that's -the- most hostile thing..

Nowfaleena looked at her son, "Strend!" She shouted, scoldingly. He flinched as the fur on his tail bristled, "Yes, Mama?" She sighed, "Here, get over here now." He slumped and made his way toward the caracal woman. Leena turned her gaze to Xannol, clearly he was tense. And not one to be too worried about manners, and certainly not the one in charge of upkeep of the grounds, she called out, "Would someone clean that mess up?" She was refering to the bloody pool, of course.

The shaman healer tugs on Mark's sleeve, trying to get his attention, so that she can inform him that there are places to rest downstairs should he or the lady require it. Another guard from nearby steps forward then, to offer his assistance if there is lifting to be done. While Frostmaw is a realm quite used to bloodshed at the dinner table, they still are capable of helping when needed.

Svilfon is equally ignorant of the poor giant's predicament, not that he'd do anything to aid the guard. He'd probably find the entire situation hilarious. But he is concentrating; he is rather good at dancing, as most wizards secretly are, but he is dancing now with a queen... in her own kingdom... at her own ball... now is not the time to realize he has grown two left feet. So he continues forth, leading Satoshi even as he laughs back. "Imposing, isn't he." The wizard's eyes flick to the statues. "But he will enjoy what is to come." The wizard gives a bearded nod at that, even as he must ask. "Do you think I should keep it?" As if he has not clarify what he's talking about. "At least... until it's singed off." He can't help but snicker at that.

Xannol began breathing a bit heaver, eyes afixed to the scenes. His head says, "Help them." But his instincts say otherwise. But it's best, for now, he turn around, take a seat, and have some wine... Bottles.

Ekhart 'flies' up to the giant again after being placed onto the ground. Giggling, he waves his 'wand' making the guard's rotten teeth fall out (in effect he gives him a thumping good whack in the gob with his mallet) The giant's rotten teeth fall out and the 'tooth fairy' jumps to the ground cackling. One by one he gathers the teeth, very stealthily of course, and then he places them underneath the pillow. Dancing around, waving his wand, he eventually replaces the teeth with a small pile of coin and giggling he makes his way to the other side of the hall.

Satoshi said to Svilfon, "I think he already approves, what with that odd bit of blood-spilling already. Although I'm sure he wants blood that isn't accidenta--" Her words are cut off as Satoshi's ears swivel in Nowfaleena's direction, attracted by the shouted name. Strend? But that elf is died. She can bear witness to that. Amid dance-steps, Satoshi looks in Nowfaleena's direction, expecting to see the reanimated corpse of Strend... only to see a small child. "Ah. Different fellow." Satoshi shrugs, and returns her focus to the dance at hand. Somewhere off to where Mark landed, a hobbit in a bow-tie is quietly mopping up the blood while munching on a stolen pastry. Back with the dancers, Satoshi looks closely at Svilfon's beard, a move that threatens to knock their heads together from proximity. "I think you should keep it. Goes with your tail. Kind of... evens you out, y'know?"

Misaki 's eyelids flutter as the blood was wiped off. She opened them halfway. She looked down at her dressed, stained with blood. "...there's several Gold down the drain," she muttered to herself with a sigh. She looked up at Mark, who had been wiping blood off of her. "...you should go rest," she said, "that wasn't a fall out of a tree you had."

Satoshi's uncertain guard is uncertain no more. He's pretty sure being hit in the face with a mallet, however shiny, counts as hostile. A fact that leads to the armored behemoth reaching out with a hand in an attempt to take hold of the odd person, so that Ekhart can be removed from the ballroom. As much as the giant would prefer to simply step on the dwarf, they're supposed to be behaving this evening... until the Fight Fest is announced, of course.

Daisy 's tail decides to make a flashy show while Istvan spins the kitten across the floor. Sometimes it is up, waving hello to those they pass by, and sometimes it is down, swooshing along like an elegant train of fabrics. Daisy mostly tries to ignore it, focusing on her dancing.

Svilfon is careful enough to stop their heads knocking together, even as he grins; no hint of self-consciousness evident as she inspects his mighty beard. It had been combed and had the twigs in it removed, he was proud of it. As they continue to dance through the room, he replies again, "Then, as the queen wishes, so shall it be." He is about to continue, when he finally spies the 'tooth fairy' having hit a giant in the face with his mallet. The wizard grins brightly at this... he knew giants well... he knew such actions would not be without consequences, even as he mutters loud enough for Satoshi to hear. "Host a ball, brings all the weirdos out of the woodwork, as it were. Too much pixie dust, that one has taken, I think." He shakes his head, the movement in time with the song which seems to be ebbing now towards its conclusion. "I think he might be first... after the ball, that is." The look in the wizard's eye leaves little question as to what exactly he'll be first in.

Satoshi is jealous of that tail, good lord.

Nowfaleena sighed as she continued to scold her son, "Strend, you're obcession with fighting is bad enough without an obsession for blood." She pulled him over to the table, pushing him into a seat gently, "Do you -want- to end up like your father?" The boy rolled his eyes, "Always with that. Mama, I am not Daddy! I can handle myself!" It was all the caracal could do not to growl at her son. She cast a glance at Xannol as he ate and drank. "You okay?" Lyla settled into a seat beside the vampire.

Xannol drank his wine straight from the bottle, "Oh, yeah. I'm alright, now. Just, uh.. Haven't seen that in wuite a few years." He shuttered off feelng of old and announced, with a slight sound of nervousness, "Welll, this is a ball, right? Shouldn't we be having one, eh??"

Mark listened to the words the feline had for him and it was actually a good idea, to get away from the noise... so much noise... and the people... he saw dead people, vampires, undead, you name it. He wasn't all too happy as he was approached by a giant, however, as the last time he was in contact with something that large, he... well he ended up in this situation. He considered drawing his weapon, but from what he observed of the other patrons, they didn't seem too startled by the heaping tower of muscle so it probably wasn't a good idea to drawing their attention now. As the healer regained consciousness and spoke, Mark gave her a small smile, or at least that's what it seemed like. A small chuckle escaped his lips as he leaned in to speak silently to her so as to not expend more energy than needed, "You don't exactly seem to be in perfect condition either..." He picks her up again in the same fashion, straining himself so as to not have to be manhandled by the guard and he heads downwards to the resting area he had been informed of. He does, however take a moment to shoot a glance back at Nowfaleena and her children before making his way downstairs.

Satoshi winds to a stop as the music does before bowing to the wizard. "Thank you for the dance~. You're as light on your feet as I imagined. I hope that lesson was well ingrained," she can't help but add as a parting shot. Saluting Svilfon, Satoshi makes her way back toward where she's left her chain-smoking husband, only to catch Nowfaleena's remark as she passes. Without missing a beat in doing an about-face, the kit turns around and sidles up alongside the table. "I couldn't help but overhear." Tall vulpine ears are wiggled to emphasize this. "Did you say Strend? As in the elf fellow with the odd tail?"

Svilfon replies to Satoshi with a bow and a smile, "Thank you too, lady icicle." As she wanders off, so too does he, towards the side of the room.

Svilfon had pointedly ignored the words about the lesson.

Daisy swooshes Istvan into a chair to let the poor man rest. Kitten dances can be exhausting! Especially when they run on the kind of happy this one does. No. Not pixie dust. Just... happy. <3 Spotting her chance, the lady druid saunters up to the manliest of wizards and extends a paw. "My turn?"

Nowfaleena gave a small nod to Xannol, "I suppose you're right. She looked to the cubs, about to tell them once more to behave when she caught the ice queen's words. Blinking, the caracal turned toward the woman, "Yes...that would be my former mate." She twitched her ears, and flicked her tail. "Why do you ask?" The children exchanged glances. They'd never really met anyone else who knew their father.

Satoshi is about to answer in perfect truthfulness to Nowfaleena, when she realizes there are children staring at her. Likely Strend's children, judging by the clues. Satoshi's concept of right and wrong is vastly different from most but... she's pretty sure there was some rule of society about making remarks about dead fathers in front of their children. Satoshi presses her mouth in a thin line, biting back the answer, and instead says simply, "I knew him, is all." Satoshi nods then and backs away. Perhaps she'll find the feline again another time, or send a letter. For now, she'll behave herself, and make the tactful Cuki proud of the lessons he'd taught her. Damn monk.

Svilfon has but a moment to rest after dancing with the queen of frost and snow, before he is asked by the finest peacockitten who has ever existed. He responds with another bow, somewhat formal, low enough that his beard almost touches the floor (but very carefully does not), before he straightes and takes her paw in his hand. "Your turn indeed, Daisy the Druid." He leads her back out, just as the next song is beginning to be played. He once again gives a slight bow, before placing a hand upon Daisy's back, while the other still holds her paw. "I think your tail is more glorious than my beard..." he winks, "but I can lose such competitions to you." At that, he begins dancing once more, flowing through the room this time with Daisy.

Daisy should probably let the wizard have a break at some point too, but selfish kittens are selfish and chances like these just don't happen enough! Except that she danced with him just the other day and now she is having another! Pleased with such compliments, that tail remains fanned out behind the kitten as she dances with the wizard, pridefully looking at him look at it. More glorious than that beard!? "Oh I don't know about that," she purrs at her friend, scrunching her nose when the tail actually whaps her on the top of the head.

Kasyr takes note of Satoshi's distractedness, and promptly slips away- though he makes sure to give her ear a playful pluck as the glacial magus literally evades Nowfaleena's questions. Really, the fact that there's still a large smear of blood across the ground has gotten the Kensai's interest at this point- something which has him meandering across the room to go and investigate.

Nowfaleena blinked again, "Oh...I see." She had the feeling there was something more the woman wanted to tell her, but let it drop. Turning to her children she warned them, "You two behave. Perhaps you can dance together." Lyla wrinkled her nose, "Dance with my brother?" Strend huffed, "Why should I dance with her?" Their mother rolled her eyes, "Suit yourselves." Turning to Xannol she smiled slightly, "So, you want to make this a ball?" She offered out her hand, "I don't think my mate would mind you stealing a dance." Despite her normal dislike for dancing, she was willing to make an exception to set an example for the cubs.

Svilfon moves in a way of rare grace and skill.. he spins Daisy, evades the feathers of her tail without seeming to evade them, before he places his hand once more upon her back, all while grinning at the tail thwapping the top of her head. At least it wasn't leaving her upside down from a dandy-made-coatrack while she was wearing a dress! This one, at least, had a bit more... tact. And really did suit the druid. "I'm a wizard... we never lie..." Which is, of course, a lie, but his earlier words are true nonetheless. "I am glad you came to the ball... we do not dance enough." Except... well... almost every time they are together they dance, when not jumping from the clouds. But Svilfon enjoys it, as is shown by the grin which is bright enough to show beneath his beard.

Satoshi gives Nowfaleena and her cubs a last look before she withdraws. Although she does pause long enough before the two children to offer them an unusual parting remark, "If you must get into trouble, as all kits are prone do, make sure it's trouble you can get yourself out of." With this and a nod, Satoshi winds her way around the perimeter of the dance floor to where Kasyr is. She moves to stand beside her and gaze down at the smears of blood not fully cleaned up yet (Aramoth's floors are loathe to release they grip on blood, it'd seem). "Y'know, if you're hungry, I made sure there was blood wine and raw steaks for a reason."

Daisy is especially glad she was able to attend! Considering things of importantness were threatening to keep her away. Weathermancers must be thanked. "Tell me, Wizard." She swats at the thwaping tailfeathers before giving them a good shake. "What did you do to earn the manliest beard ever?"

Kasyr is staring at the blood, as though trying to silent will it to move. There's even a bit of finger wiggling, in a mimicry of that thing mage-y people do, when he's pretty sure not many people are looking. Which, basically, ultimately does nothing. It's about that point Satoshi happens upon him, something which letting out a long sigh, and an even longer trail of smoke, "...It's not food. I just wanted to see if it'd do the whole..er, wiggly thing. You know." Kasyr pokes at the blood with his shoe a bit, before he redirects his attention back to Satoshi. "...Not really working. ..Et I should probably not do this with my shoes."

Nowfaleena as she waited for Xannol to either accept or reject her offer of a dance, she watched as her cubs wandered over to the refreshment table, taking some water and stew to fill their bellies.

Svilfon misses a step when the druid asks her question, and damn near trips over his own feet. But he catches himself quickly enough, even as a flash of red rises to his cheeks. "I... ahh.... well...." To distract her, the wizard motions with one hand to those making music to up the tempo, and thankfully, one sees and does. So the wizard, instead of gracefully dancing slowly, begins to move quickly across the floor, spinning and twirling with Daisy, weaving through other dancing pairs, twisting himself as he does with all the skill the flustered wizard can muster. For a long time this goes on, before the music again begins to slow and he grins at the druid, hoping perhaps she forgot her question amongst the quick dance they just shared.

Satoshi is about to respond to Kasyr, when the smallish puddle of blood suddenly retracts as if bitten--can you bite blood? It sits in the form of a little glob, quivering and crimson, and staying away from Kasyr's shoes. "I think you scared it," Satoshi points, more amused than alarmed. "Do it again?"

A nearby Frost Giant notices Nowfaleena's cubs at the food tables. Being rather young himself and always eager to impress foreigners, Jarhn moves to stand between them and the enormous roast mammoth crowning the feast, a cleaver fit for a giant held proudly in his hand. "Evah seen a mam'th carved up?" he asks them, grinning broadly through his yellow beard.

Satoshi isn't sure how terrifying an image that must be for a mother, to find her two kids standing in front of a giant with a meat-chopping knife.

Nowfaleena makes certain to keep a close eye on her cubs as the giant approaches them. Lyla blinked a little shyly, twining fingers into her brother's shirt. It was Strend who eyed the giant and his weapon excitedly, "Nope! You gonna carve it up with that big...uh..axe-knife-thingy."

Meri returned! She reeked of cigarettes, having been chain smoking elsewhere while waiting for Raphaline. This time when she rejoins this party, it is with a new guest and finally a familiar face. No more lurking about like a wall flower for this tattooed woman. The blonde enters, one tattooed arm linked with the oh-so-stunning Raphaline.

Jarhn's grin widens further, obviously approving of the boy's response. "This here's called a 'cleaver', m'lad. None too good fer cutting up foes, but darn good at showin' a roast mam'th whatfor! Watch close!" Eagerly the giant takes his knife to the mammoth, slicing with expert precision through the glazed and crackling skin, and into the meat beneath, savory juices spilling out. In seconds, he's carved out two fat chunks of it, offering them out to Strend and Lyla upon the flat of the cleaver. "Ah'll bet you've tasted nothin' like this."

Kasyr eyes the blood, and tries to poke it again. It's super effective! In the sense that he manages to poke it with his shoe. "...Yeah. That's... That's a thing." A few more pokes amount to little more than splashing, before the Kensai offers a sort of helpless shrug to Satoshi, "I meant to talk to Tenebrae about this- since I figured it would be her sort of thing, but well. Ehhh."

Lanlan arrives at last. He might've gotten lost, which would've been oh so strange for someone who's made his home in Frostmaw the last few years. So, he doesn't get out much. Generous terms for the almost-agoraphobic elf. Such a big crowd! One might call it a -giant- crowd. He chuckles to himself, he'll have to save that for when someone talks to him. Might as well start with a drink!

Daisy squeals with delight as the dance is sped up. Oh how she does love to twirl and whirl and... Oh sorry about that tail in your face there, buddy. Where are they going? Where have they been? What were they talking about? Oh who cares?! She forgets the questioning and where they are and even the obnoxious tail for a moment. And in that moment, the wizard and druid dancing duo (just for you, Svil n.~) leave a path of snowy flowers in their wake there on the floor. Where'd they come from? Who cares. She grins right back at Svilfon. "I love all the dances."

Kasyr , as an aside, is still smoking. That's right, he started smoking at about the time that Meri left the building, and he's still going. Being a vampire had some pretty good perks. Namely, the lack of cancer, or respiratory problems normally inherant in such prodigial amounts of chain-smoking.

Satoshi continues to watch the blood and it's now clear lack of response, almost looking disappointed. Up until Kasyr speaks, causing her to shoot him a sideways half-glare, "Mention her again, and you're gonna owe me -two- dances~." It's mostly a joke. Mostly. "I'm sure you'll sort it out eventually, though. Enjoy the mystery while you can. Life's a bit dull without curiosities to keep us thinking."

Lanlan considered asking one of the...staff...what was the big secret about this mystery meade. But after considering some of the options he decided it was far better left unsaid, and he moved about elsewhere to avoid being associated with it.

Raphaline enters, arm in arm with Meri, wearing the dress that the tattooed woman had helped pick out. Black material, with a deep green embroidery of vines, her red curls swept off her neck to reveal emeralds on her ears and around her neck. "So where to first love?" She says, turning to Meri and whispering her words.

Nowfaleena || Strend grinned and held out a plate for the large slice of mammoth, "That's cool!" He grinned up at the much larger giant. Not even bothering with fork and knife he tore a chunk of the meat with his teeth. "Thish ish good!" He said through a mouthful. So Lyla held out her plate as well, a small smile on her features. When she was given a piece of mammoth, she used the appropriate utensils to cut a slice and put it in her mouth; chewing thoroughly before nodding, "Yes, very good."

Istvan seeing Daisy so happy with Svilfon, nodded to himself and decided that he should probably go find some sort of large monster to fight. So, quietly, using all his powers of mime to move as stealthily and covertly as possible, he loses himself in the crowd and slips out the door--after grabbing some food for the road.

Misaki emerges from downstairs in her normal clothes... her emerald bodice with black lacings much like her dress earlier, a pair of soft black leggings, and her black slippers. She was clean, for hte most part, except for her hair, which was still half-covered in blood. Also to note, was a darkly shining crossbow on her right hip, and a quiver of shining black metal bolts on her left hip. She glanced around at the crowd, which had seemed to thin slightly when she left. She was pleased to see her friend Daisy was still here, which made the ticked-off expression on her face vanish.

Svilfon 's smile shows somewhat sheepish suprise as Satoshi-esque snowflowers sweetly spring in their wake. (<<). "As do I, lady druid, as do I." Even as he speaks, this dance is coming to an end, the song fading before another can begin, and as he did with Satoshi, the wizard ends it with a bow to the druid and a warm smile. "Another we shall share... but I smell... something... sensational." That mammoth meat... he couldn't help but gravitate towards it. "So perhaps after some food, Daisy druidhealerfeline, you and I can share another."

Nowfaleena deciding that Xannol must not be up for a dance, moved toward where Raphaline and Meri were, "Hello." She smiled, making frequent glances to her cubs, who were currently talking with a cleaver-weilding giant.

Kasyr offers Satoshi a brief pout, as though tamed by that most monstrous of threats. "Some mysteries beget others when they're solved. I'll probably never run out of things to infuriate moi." Another meaningful glance is given to the blood on the floor- which is sort of mysteriously absent, now. ...Yup. Definitely infuriating.

Meri was young. Cancer was the last thing on her mind. Even if that line of conversation came up, she'd probably just end up grumbling something about dying young anyway. A smirk curves at her red lips as her baby blues settle on Raphaline. Her answer came swiftly, without hesitation. Now that she had Raphaline, drinks were in order. "Drinks, Muse. Then wherever ya want." She didn't know like anyone. In fact, she was only here to accompany her friends and listen to her play. Which is why, as Raphaline's date, it was her duty to not dress to outshine the performer. She was dressed in your classic black dress.

Jarhn beams. While he wasn't the one who prepared the mammoth--that honor goes to his half-brother, Bill the Almost-Giant--he is still proud of its results and the approval given by the cubs. As such, the giant places another slice of meat on each of their plates to reward them before he stops to contemplate the pair of tusks sitting regally beside the carcass. "Ya know..." he says, thoughtfully. A thick hand reaches up to break off a small, smooth chunk of the tusk. "Trad-- tra--... Normally," traditionally is a tough word for one of Jarhn's intellect, "we give a piece o' the tusk to guests tha' prove their worth at a feast. Yer a mite small for tha' just now, but Ah'll give ya this, then next time ya come to a feast, ya show me ya've learned to cut up a mam'th. It's a challenge." The tusk is held out between Strend and Lyla, although Jarhn can guess who will accept the tiny trophy.

Nowfaleena || Stend, of course, eagerly reached for the piece of tusk, "Oh wow! I'll show you I can carve a mammoth!" He nodded, though he wasn't sure he'd be back. But this experience had at least salvaged an otherwise boring night. Lyla smiled softly, "Thank you." She wasn't sure she'd be able to eat two chunks of mammoth, but she accepted so as not to be rude.

Raphaline leans towards Meri, grinning. "Aye, drinks. Gotta lube the musician before she plays, no?" She glances to the table of food and drinks, eyeing all the colors and smells. "Come on." She grabs a hold of the tattooed woman and would proceed to drag her over to the table, reaching for the first two tankards and handing one to her. "Cheers love, to a go night." When Leena would make her way over, Raph would grin, all cheers and happiness to be here. "Hello Leena. I see you have the youngins with you." Having spotted the children near the mammoth. "Looks like they are having fun."

Daisy should probaby take some sort of a break anyway. It has been hours and she has done nothing but dance. Oh but what is this? Satoshi and Kasyr standing over there. She must have a dance. So the wizard is left to the foodstuffs so Daisy can pop her little head between the pair to speak when an opportune moment happens. "I thought maybe I could have a dance?" She smiles between the two before lifting a paw to Satoshi. "If you don't mind." Her eyes question Kasyr.

Satoshi squints at the spot where the blood had been. She'd only looked away for a secon-- Oh. There it is, she can feel the presence of the fluid, now that she's paying attention. Carefully the magus crouches down amid the crackle and rustle of her gown's movement, to stare pointedly at Kasyr's shoe. "Oi." A poke from a clawed finger is given to said shoe. "Let go. He's dancing with -moi- tonight, not you. Don't make me freeze you into the shape of a bald-tailed jack rabbit, or something equally embarassing."

Lanlan spotted Raphaline over there. Where she was, next to her friend Meri and her other friend Nowfaleena; not that he knew those were there names. Drinks all around then! Well, for him and her right? Only two hands after all. He couldn't find what she drank last time... "Here ya go," he says to her handing her a cup. "It warms you up I think." He took a sip of his own. "Well," he says when he notices she's got a cup already, "I'll just save this one." And he looks around and plops it on a conveniently placed table.

Satoshi very nearly topples over when Daisy suddenly appears between herself and Kasyr, while she's crouched and scolding blood. With her tail relatively buried beneath her gown's bustle, Satoshi's finding her balance is slightly offkilter, which is why she's forced to flail her arms to right herself before she can stand and address Daisy properly. "It'd be my pleasure, Sundrop~."

Svilfon slowly makes his way towards the roasting mammoth. He's seen the children are enjoying themselves, and doesn't wish to intrude... he can imagine what it would be like being amongst folks like this when you're so young. So instead, he merely stands close to the mammoth, keeping an eye on it, making sure no giant dragons come and eat it before he can enjoy a slice or two of the fine meat.

Nowfaleena gave a smile to the musician, "Yes, they do seem to be." She smiled warmly, "I'm actually glad I brought them, though Strend has been a bit of a handful." She sighed and shrugged, "But, that's to be expected."

Misaki notices that no one has noticed her return. So she wanders over to an empty space of wall and leans on it, being careful not to put some blood from herh air on the wall by mistake. Though by the way people weren't reacting, she didn't think anybody would care but her. From there, she folded her hands in front of her and leaned against the wall, watching the festivities continue.

Meri wiggles her brows at Raphaline at this talk of lubing up the musician. The tattooed woman trails alongside Raphaline, hand in hand, until she gets her tankard. Then she releases her hold on Raphaline's hand. Nowfaleena is greeted with an easy going grin on her approach, winking to her, "Well hey there, love."

Kasyr follow's Satoshi's gaze, and just sort of watches as the blood peels off from his foot, and promptly tries to sink into the floor, by virtue of any crack or grove it can find. It's sufficiently weird to watch. "...It listens to you, but no me." A pause, and then the revenant quietly adds, "Lame."

Meri adds on that she also regards Lanlan with a rather amused look. Meri shoots Raphaline a questioning glance, smirking all the while.

His work done with the tusk, Jarhn straightens back up and goes back to carving up the mammoth, to be dished out on plates for those awaiting the meat. For Svilfon, the cleaver-happy giant makes sure to deliver part of a leg joint. All of Frostmaw knows how partial the wizard is to roasted boar's leg. Jarhn wants to prove that Bill's mammoth is superior.

Raphaline had expected her friends, but had not known that Lan would be here. Suddenly, for a split moment the bard felt caught between reactions. But, as quickly as it came, it was dismissed and she offers a grin to the gray elf. "Hello Lan. I see you made it to the ball as well." She disregards her tankard, and reaches over him to take the one he had specifically brought over to her. With greetings made, she turns to the other two women to make introductions. "My favorite ladies, this is Lan." And she left it at his nam.

Kasyr stops griping long enough to realize that Daisy's here- her request earning a small smile aimed at her, and a helpless rise of his hands, "By all means, madamoiselle. I'm sure you'll make an eye-catching duo."

That pastry-pilfering hobbit from earlier happens to wander past Misaki when she leans against the wall. Over the hobbit's shoulder is slung the remains of his jacket, which had been used to mop up most of the blood--except the bit Satoshi and Kasyr are harassing currently. When the halfling spies Misaki, he pauses, holds up the blood jacket, and asks around a scone stuffed in his mouth, "Didja want the blood back, or naw?"

Nowfaleena gave a nod to Meri at the greeting, "Hello there." Strend continued to watch the carving of the mammoth with fascination. Lyla was quietly eating her slices of mammoth.

Misaki glances down at her crossbow, which had shifted on her hip. For a moment, it was still. Then it seemed to... melt, into a formless puddle before rising up again as a tall man with dark hair and skin as pale as her's. He wore a blindfold, so it was impossible to tell if he even had eyes. "You shouldn't be a wallflower, Mistress," he said with a slight bow, "perhaps I may entertain you on the dance floor?" Misaki glared at the male. "...not with blood in my hair, Satoru," she said, "I'd hate having to clean it off of you when you go back to -that- form."

Nowfaleena gave an inclination of her head by way of greeting to Lan, "My name's Nowfaleena."

Misaki shakes her head at the hobbit. "...no," she said, "I have no interest in the blood."

Daisy doesn't wait for Kasyr to approve of the request! As soon as Satoshi says yes, while keeping herself upright after the oh so verily scary kitten startled her, a little paw is slipped into the queen's hand so they can skip -damn right skip- onto the dance floor. As if the tail knew, it folded up neatly behind Daisy while dancing with this woman. Daisy's sunshine shimmers over Satoshi's ice as they dance, throwing little rainbows all over everyone like just them standing next to each other is some sort of prismatic occurance. You don't see pretty like this everyday, folks. Stop what you're doing and have a peek, yeah?

The hobbit shrugs, nearly dropping both his jacket and his scone in the process. Once one is safely back on his shoulder and the other firmly in his teeth, he says, "Suit churself." And off the hobbit goes once more.

Meri is more than happy to take the tankard that Raphaline disregards. She will totally...rock a tankard in each hand. Classy. The tattooed woman can't help but observe the way that Raphaline seems to prefer the drink Lan just brought her and that observation only causes that smirk to linger on her red lips. "Lan. Nice to be meetin' ya. Hope yer enjoyin' yer night."

Lanlan smiled briefly, broadly and looked to each of her friends. "Nowfaleena? Nice to meet you." Very formal, forced introductions. Very unfluid. Those were probably her kids over there seeing as she was a feline, they were felines... Yes so even though he was obviously quite the detective, he still couldn't deduce what exactly did that mead compose of?

Svilfon offers Jarhn a tip of his hat as the plate which appears in his hand is enveloped in a huge piece of mammoth leg. He licks his lips, before speaking. "Thank you, master giant. A gift in return." A little awkwardly, Svil balances the heavy plate in one hand, before reaching into his robes and pulling forth a surprisingly large bottle of wizard-grade absinthe, strong enough to get even the most iron-bellied giant drunk. He offers it to Jarhn with a smile and the words, "Share it with your brother." Before he happily skips over to a chair to begin devouring the leg. He does manage, part way through, to give a thumbs up to the Jarhn, silent testament that yes, Bill's mammoth is suprerior to Drargon's boar leg... but also a look that says he better not tell the retired warrior barkeep that fact!

Svilfon dropped 1 Wizards grade absinthe.

Satoshi joins Daisy, but not before she looks over her shoulder at Kasyr to childishly stick her tongue out. And thus, the kit and the kitten have themselves a dance, all colorful and shiny because what else can you expect when you bring sunlight and ice together? ...No, not melted ice. This is ice of the deep north, it does not melt! It shimmers and shines, and it shows you all just how lovely the Northern Lights are~.

Svilfon mumbles, "Pretty," but whether he's talking about his food or the dancing pair, that would be anyone's guess.

Satoshi can't be called a stuffy, prim, formal type queen, that's for sure.

Raphaline catches that smirk and gives Meri a look, one of which that says there is plenty to explain. But then, music begins to play, and the bard cannot help her next desire. First to down a bit of the drink and then next to request a dance. "Who is willing to step out there on the dance floor with me?"

Nowfaleena offered a small smile to the elf, who might, if he is such the detective, notice that her cubs are only half feline. Her son bears very elven features save his tail and claws. When she noticed the passed out vampire awaken once more, she gave him a smirk from across the room.

Lanlan doesn't forget Meri! "Hello Meri, yes I am. This is a -giant- party, isn't it...? Giant, cause...Frost giants. Haha. Joke." Well, he's had enough awkwardness. Time to dance! Just kidding. "I can't dance yet. This is only my second drink! Meri? After you."

Lanlan will detectivate way more better next time.

Xannol had no idea what the smirk was for, so he waved all oblvious-like.

Meri was no dancer. Even if she was Raphaline's date, Meri was forced to shaker her head and decline the woman's request. She'll find a suitable partner though! She already has one in mind. The blonde places a hand on Lan's shoulder and urges him forward toward Raphaline, "I bet this feller would be more than happy to dance with ya, dove." Oh yes she did. "C'mon now boy," she says to Lan, "Don't be shy. Show the lady yer moves." If all went successfully, Meri would end up joining Nowfaleena at her side, winking ever so innocently at her.

Kasyr pulls out a flask from his waist coat the very moment Satoshi and Daisy book it. Really, in a normal circumstance, the bar that's already present would be more than enough- but then, what's in the kensai's flask is far than normal. Which sorta spells bad news, when he proceeds to spike one of the punch bowls- given that it's with Wizard Grade absinthe. ...And then a few other punch bowls, just for good measure. With that out of the way, the Kensai casually begins to drink- curious to see if the parties going to get livelier.

Daisy spins and twirls with Satoshi, laughing and just enjoying having a good time for once. The song stops and Daisy just hugs her friend there in the middle of the dance floor. The embrace is sweet and long, but not too long that it becomes uncomfortable. "Thank you," she whispers, knowing those ears can pick up things just as easily as her own. More stolen cheek kisses. Oh kitten. Can't you keep your lips to yourself? She smiles with a little shake of her head before prancing over to her avian friend. "Misaki. Are you having a good time?"

Kasyr used Wizards grade absinthe.

Nowfaleena was simply smirking because he had dozed off at a lively party. Turning to her firneds she gave a nod, "If you'll excuse me." She turned and made her way toward Xannol once more, "Hey," She grinned, holding out a hand to him, "Still want to make a ball of it?" Her cubs were still at the food table, working on their double portions of mammoth.

Svilfon catches what Kasyr is doing and silently approves.

Satoshi ensures Daisy gets a tickling from fox whiskers for those stolen smooches, before the kit rights herself and looks around for her husband. Where has that little sneak gone off to-- Aha! Satoshi weaves her way over to Kasyr, eyebrows lifted in question. "Drinking? Is the thought of dancing with me -that- terrifying?" She adds a pout with her words, for emphasis.

Satoshi thinks if Svilfon approves so much of Kasyr, they should just get married already, jeez!

Misaki looks up at Daisy. "...I suppose," she said, "I was, until some person went through the window and ruined my mood." She glanced at her familiar, the blindfolded man who was just her crossbow. "...Daisy, this is my friend, Satoru." It would jsut be weird to explain that Satoru was her crossbow.

Xannol smiled, taking the feline's hand and standing, "Well, of course. I've missed a bit."

Svilfon smiles at Satoshi - the gaps in his teeth will surely quell her rising ire!.. he couldn't steal a troll from an ogre.

Nowfaleena didn't typically dance, but she could make an exception. She lead the vampire to teh dancefloor, smiling as she twitched her ears to the music, "If you'll lead?" She smirked at him.

Satoshi squints. Kasyr is certainly a troll of the personality type, but did Svil just call her a ogre? :P

Kasyr carefully reseals his flask, sets' it back into his coat, and then pats it to make sure that it's staying in place. It's only then that he steps away from the punchbowls, and over to his wife, "Hardly, mon amour. I'm just hard-pressed to keep your attention with all your adoring friends. En fait, I'd be quite delighted if tu would give me the honor to accompany moi for a dance. I'll try not to detain you for too long." It's one part sweet-talking, and one part getting -very- far from the scene of the crime.

Daisy knows wizards and necromancers and queens and dragons and pirates - sometimes they're all one person. Rest easy, dear Misaki. Nothing you have is going to startle the kitten. Want proof? Look at the smile on her face and the FLOOF - damn that tail! "So..." She glances to the wizard then back at the avian. "Do you think avian men would think I'm sexy with this tail?"

Raphaline feels a little caught between Meri's throwing Lan at her, and otherwise. She knew what the other woman was doing, so to make it less awkward, she takes Lan's hand into her own. "Come on, I promise I won't step on your feet."

Svilfon suddenly returns to being one hundred percent focused on his meal! If you knew it weren't possible, you'd swear he was trying to hide by growing ever smaller.

Svilfon shares a tiny percentage of his focus on the question Daisy asked Misaki, and its possible answer.

Misaki started laughing. Damn, Daisy was a real mood-lifter. "I'm not sure," she replied, "I'm the only one of my kind that I've seen so far in these lands..." Satoru nodded once to Daisy. He was obivously human...ish? Definetly not Avian, at least.

Satoshi might have made a squeak of delight at the offer, but with how quickly she rushes forward and her gown rustles in response, it's hard to hear the smaller sound over it. Kasyr's arm is eagerly taken ahold of, and it's all Satoshi can do to take a deep breath and compose herself, because after all, no matter how bubbly excited she is that Kasyr's agreed to dance, it isn't her role to lead the other onto the dance floor. Consider the sweet-talking super effective, Kasyr. Satoshi likely wouldn't notice if the rest of the academy burned down around her right now.

Xannol had never danced, to be honest, but no one knew. Before he passed out, he had watched the others a bit. So he goes for broke, taking her handng and starting to move. Just, one oot in front of.. the other. Don't think, just move, listen to the music.

Daisy can't remember if Misaki was sitting or standing so she'll either climb up into the avian's lap or lean against her. Either way, she does it in the cutest way possible. "I knew another avian. Eomon. He was a lot of fun." She purrs that calming purr of hers softly against Misaki's chest or arm (depending on the avian's sitting status). Those tail feathers of hers droop. It is hard work being a tail!

Nowfaleena let him take one hand, resting the other on his shoulder. She -had- danced, but rarely. Of course, she had the natural grace of a feline on her side. She let him begin to lead her around the floor.

Lanlan wasn't going to object...audibly. "You're gonna be embarrassed." Any empathetic person might be embarrassed soon. "Wait, wait!" Just a scoop of that punch, ya know, to wet his whistle. "Wow -cough- that stuff had a little something...extra." Back to the dancing! "Let's you lead to start off..."

Meri only does these things out of adoration. Really. She luffs Raphaline. Plus, she had to get Raphaline back for her comments in the tavern the other day. She knows which ones. While Raphaline dances, Meri drinks. From both tankards. She alternates. First the left. Then the right. Repeat. She will also idle a touch. So Meri is on like...auto-pilot-drinking-mode.

Raphaline is quite alright with leading, so after she pulls him onto the dance floor, she places one hand on her waist and the other in her hand. As for her hands, one slips up to his shoulder while the other curls around the hand in hers. "Now, follow me. I will keep this slow." She takes a step back, and then to the side, moving with the music.

Satoshi thinks Meri would do well in the Ale Drinking Contest for the festival~.

Kasyr gently leads Satoshi amidst those already dancing, before he finally takes her hand within his own, draws her close- and then takes the plunge and starts moving along with the rythym. Between the lessons he's received (including a few with Satoshi that had slipped his mind about the lesson aspect) and his overall profession, it's never really been the footwork that's been the large problem- so much as the Revenant's habit of trying to rush. And so, he simply takes his time- dancing with Satoshi at a leisurely pace. It may not be the upbeat energy of the druid or the Wizard, but it could certainly be worse.

Xannol had no idea what he was do, but he moved wth th woman to the music, around the floorturning, and moving, then turing some more. The vampire was well out of his comfort zone, but events like this don't come around often. And dancing with someone in the street can get dangerous.

Svilfon finally finishes his huge portion of mammoth meat, and with a satisfied smile he leans back in his chair, pulls his hat down a shade, and seems for all the world like he's fallen asleep. Those closest to him would perhaps hear a light snoring - which he thinks is entirely appropriate now he has a beard. He remains still, but anyone who came close to him is briefly eyed, just in case... it is Frostmaw, after all.

Nowfaleena let herself be led, moving as gracefully as she could. Turn, and move, and turn. She smiled at the vampire, "You're not doing bad."

Satoshi is the furthest point from complaining a person can possibly be. Kasyr doesn't need to be an Empath to know this, either, what with the look of contentment on the kit's face before she burrows it against the revenant's shoulder. If she were still physically capable of purring, you can be sure she would be doing so right now. And so it's no wonder the magus falls into easy step with the kensai, azure and amber to his black and gold.

Daisy purrs for Satie just watching the couple dance. <3

Lanlan finds a groove eventually and they both just meld into the music rising up and down with the notes hypnotically. Like a low flame in the still night. Quietly he speaks into her ear, "I didn't tell you how beautiful you look tonight." And he still didn't.

Xannol starts to get the hang of dancing, a bit, "I guess." He began to lead slightly better, knowing when to move, turn, and maybe a few of those fancy moves here and there. The music filled his ears, and rhythm controlled his legs. Hey, he was beginning to ease up and enjoy the feeling around him.

Gorzhageigk arrives atop a Wyvern from the east reasoning, as is his nature, it better someone else labor to his profit than himself. He rolls off of the wheezing beast and straightens the dust-ridden tailcoat stretched over his swollen gut. As he enters the grand hall, one would be doing exceptionally well not to contort their face as the stench of mothballs and spoiled meats seeps from the man's finery. From his mouth dangles a cigar, vanilla by scent, and from the corners of his pursed lips oozes the signature brown tarry refuse that so commonly plasters his face. He shambles forward, every click of his cane bringing him closer to the buffet line and its crowned jewel - the massive mammoth resting thereon.

Meri would so be game for an ale drinking content. She just needs to find out on an IC level. Drinking is one thing that Meri will never turn down!

Kasyr 's actually enjoying himself, despite all his griping (and there was griping) about lessons and all the other little complications. Sure, he'd started doing this for her sake (and to distance himself from the punch bowls), but there was just something altogether -nice- about being close to her. "Je t'adore, mon chere. Pour tous les jours~ Mon coeur appartient a vous." And with that bit of sweet talking aside, the Kensai just keeps leading her through the motions~

Nowfaleena smiled and gave a nod, "See, it gets easier." She grinned at him, "Just don't expect to dance with me too often." Her cubs had eaten their fill of their enormous portions of mammoth. They had curled up in a corner and dozed off, Strend clutching tight to the piece of tusk he had been given by the giant who had carved the mammoth.

Raphaline moves in closer to him, listening to the sweet words. She turns, so her lips almost brush against his ear as she whispers her own words. "I am glad you came." It was a lot for her to confess to, and even more so for her to say to someone else. She doesn't say anything else as she continues to move.

Daisy /can be seen over there, by herself for the first time since she arrived to this party. You really should give it a rest, kitten. Flitting around to everyone like some sort of painted harlot of Rynvale does not become you! She lifts her chin with a snort and stands, smoothing her dress down before heading for the refreshments table. Only there is one problem. The tail is not ready for refreshments. It thinks fat kittens are fat and un-complementary to the grand plumage occupying her rump. There is a FLOOF and the tail is up again, pushing the kitten down on her paws and knees. She scowls back at the feathers, swatting at them as cats will do if you dangle a feather at them. Only these feathers aren't dangling. They are staring. Staring and swatting right back. "Ow!" Took a feather to the eye, she did, causing her to leap at and tumble with those pesky tail feathers. And thus, my friends, is the kitten's first contribution to the fight festival.

Xannol said, "It does," with a smile as they turned, began to circle back around to where they had started. Her second comment made the vampire laugh softly, than with a slight nervous overtone, "Oh, no. Of course not."

Meri is mid drink when Gorzhageigk enters. Her player will from now on refer to him as Gorz. Because. Anyway. She's mid drink when he enters. Now Meri is not overly squeamish but is still takes all of her willpower to not gag on her drink at the stench. Mark appears from below.

Satoshi is content beyond words, and yet somehow she's made the happier when the music fades. It's not because the song, and thus the dance with Kasyr, is ending, but rather it's because the music is -changing-. What had been a pleasant, easy waltz now picks up in pace, instruments primarily drums of thrumming out in staccato voices. The melody is the Frostmawian Blade Dance, a traditional music often played at festivals and during the Winter Solstice, where the dancers playact a battle to ward off evil spirits and win Aramoth's approval. Satoshi's familiar with the song, and with a laugh she disengages from Kasyr only to draw Ko'tar from its sheathe, the icy sword ringing. "This might be a dance that's more your style~." The blade is brandished at Kasyr, the gesture obviously playful despite its fierceness.

Nowfaleena grinned at the vampiric man, turning and circling with him. She smirked at that hint of nervousness, but said nothing. Her nose wrinkled as Gorz entered accompanied by a horrid stench. The cubs still slept in their corner of the room, until Daisy tumbled past them. Then they woke up, and couldn't help laughing some at teh sight.

Svilfon opens one eye to gaze at Gorzy, and is silently thankful he's already eaten, before his eye shuts again and he enjoys the music... a song known to him, one of battle, perfect for Aramoth. But over-full wizards need their rest, so he continues such, even if now he's paying a shade more attention to the dancers. Should be interesting.

Gorzhageigk notices very little in life save that which can be eaten or that which can be made to be eaten and, therefore, cares very little for the light-hearted frivolity and those partaking in it. In truth, he could probably care less for such things but it would likely take too much work and, therefore, be too much of a bother so he instead resigns to not caring only just enough. To that end he does, unfortunately, notice the Queen of Frostmaw frolicking about with her commodious counterpart. To her he offers a nod; it is the highest sign of respect he could offer to one who would prepare such a feast for him to enjoy. The great brown approaches the buffet, flicking his cigar to the floor and plucking plenty of precociously prepared hors d'oeuvre from their plates as he saunters over to the main event, and is quite pleased with the savory selection he samples.

Satoshi knows she's prepared a worthwhile feast, when the Brown approves!

Kasyr draws his left hand down to one of the Katana's at his hip, encircling it tightly about it's sheathe, whilst his thumb presses up against the weapon's guard. In tandem, his right hand rests upon the hilt, resting in a relaxed manner that more than fits the lazy grin currently painted on the Kensai's features, "I led the last dance, Mon amour. Let's see you set the pace this time." Even as he speaks, the Kensai's right foot is already in the process of sliding forward, even as his left slides back and to it's respective side.

Xannol comes to a stop with the feline, he's sure about this new dance he's seeing. He faces the feline, smiling, "Thank you. That was something I've never thought I'd do. And it was great." He turned toward the other, "These people. This place. It will all be memorable." Except when he was unconscious, of course.

Lanlan gets a look at the dancers who know what they're doing, and he get's the idea. What was an illusionist good for if he couldn't pretend to fight? So he gives Raph the old eyes, and slips one hand into his satchel, pulling out a simple wand. It apparently elongates into a sharp steel sword! "Well? You know what to do!" Just so she knows, he waves his hand through the illusive blade.

Nowfaleena smiled to teh vampire, "You're quite good at it too." She replied, turnign her attention to the spar, then glancing at her cubs, who are still safely tucked away in the corner, watching Daisy fight her tail and laughing at her.

Meri places her now empty tankards on a table at random. The tattooed blonde is more than content the dancers in this new dance. It certainly seemed far more lively than what they were doing before. Meri smirks as she observes Raphaline and Lanlan in particular.

Satoshi matches Kasyr's stance, Ko'tar at the ready in front of her. Face set with a determined grin, she begins to pace to the left, one foot traveling smoothly over the other beneath the skirts of her dress. Said gown was not picked purely for its appearance, however, as Satoshi proves when she suddenly slips forward, any pre-warning of her movement lost within the layers of masking fabric. With the swift step in, Ko'tar is sent darting forward in a shallow swipe at Kasyr's hip before sword and magus skip back just as quickly as they'd arrived. This is, after all, a dance as much as a matching of blades, a prolonged show is just as vital as drawing blood.

Gorzhageigk greedily grabs a great mass of grub and turns to the tables in search of a chair from which to observe the ongoing scuffle. The chair complains under the copious weight of the wyvern but holds fast for the moment.

Xannol made his way to a very nearby seat, and glanced around at all the things happening, sighing with happiness. He pour himself one more glass of wine, stating, "This, is a great evening." He wonders if and when an event of this magnitude might grace the land of Hollow again.

Kasyr 's reaction is simple enough, the Kensai shoving off his right foot- in essence sending himself nimbly skidding back onto the left foot which was already positioned behind himself. It's enough to get him out of the way of the shallow cut, and serves more than amply for the revenant's retaliation as he makes a quick pair of hops forward, his thumb promptly shoving his blade clear of his sheathe- so that his right hand can wrench the weapon clear in one smooth cutting motion seemingly aimed towards her midriff. At least until the weapon promptly flicks upwards- the Kensai intent on slamming his blade against Ko'tar to knock it's wielder off balance.

Meri creeps on out, abandoning this shindig for the final time this evening.

Nowfaleena , keeping an eye on her cubs, sat near Xannol, "Surprisingly, it is." She agreed, smiling warmly. Her ears twitched to the battle music, and she sighed contentedly.

Daisy tumbles and rolls her way right between the two kids. What? Who brought their kids? Are kids allowed at this thing? Well. They're not making any more trouble than the royal couple. So what is the score? Tail: 1. Daisy: 0. The kitten sits there with her paws between her thighs and looks between the boy and the girl. "Are you being good?"

Nowfaleena || Strend rolled his eyes at the question, which sounded far too much like his mother's nagging. Lyla gave a smile to the kitten, "Yes. Well, I am anyway." Strend took objection to this! "I am too, Lyla!" Xannol raised a brow slightly, "How so?"

Nowfaleena let out a puff of laughter, "I don't normally enjoy such a fancy to-do. And my mate couldn't be with me here, though I'm not sure where he is." She shrugged, "Honestly, I only came because Lyla begged. And Strend wants to see the fights."

Sade wandered into the hall, almost looking a bit lost as she eyed the sumptuous food and extravagant decorations. Unclasping her cloak -- the typically filthy garment having been replaced with one of deep azure and flowing fabric -- she revealed a dress of black leather and silver. It didn't fit quite right, but the unruly blonde locks had been twisted in an intricate style and pinned back, making it clear that the girl's angular face and gray eyes were to take the place of any jewelry. Smiling as she poured herself a glass of rum, she swayed to the music and surveyed the crowd.

Satoshi finds her blade being knocked away, but instead of losing her hold upon it or resisting the strike, she instead moves with it. The result is the magus twirling full circle in a flare of skirts and hair loosened from its clasps. Ko'tar had started above her head from the deflecting blow, only to now come down in a diagonal cut as Satoshi faces Kasyr anew. As the frosted blade is swung, the bell hanging from its hilt rings in time with the music, as if the blade were born for this dance.

Daisy giggles at the twins, pulling them in close for whispers that only they will hear but are totes typed out loud for the lolz. "You know this is a fighting festival, yes?" She eyes the table of foodstuffs before shifting those green hues at Gorzhageigk. Eh? Eh? Ideas a'brewin?

Nowfaleena || Strend grinned broadly, "I know! That's why I'm here, to see the fights! Mama won't let me fight myself, but I can watch, right?" Lyla giggled, "I just wanted to come to the ball. But I guess there's no one here our age..."

Xannol chuckled, "Ah, so I see. I don't think the fights start for a while though," he looked over to her cubs, "and they seem to be all tred out."

Nowfaleena smiled at him with a soft puff of laughter, "Hmm...They do seem tired, though they've found someone to hold their interest it seems." She replied, looking to where the cubs were entertained by the peacock tailed kitten.

Daisy certainly takes that as a suggestion for a new face! Perhaps there should be. Suggestions of fights while looking at food are not observed, which means the kitten should skedaddle. She waves to those she knows before vamoosing.

Kasyr can't help but smile a bit at Satoshi's counter, the kensai more than appreciative to see how her swordplay's refined itself over the years. Which is why the Kensai doesn't even feel bad when he pops his second Katana out of it's sheathe, his left hand moving to catch the hilt- if only so he can draw it up to intercept Satoshi's strike. "Poke." Well, that's what the revenant's doing with the sword in his other hand, as he proceeds to thrust the weapon in a rapid fire barrage of blows aimed for her upper torso, more meant to force her to disengage than to wound. "Poke. Poke. Poooke."

Xannol laid his head on the table, his words trailing off..

Satoshi hears the dance's music approaching its close and knows she only has a move or two remaining until then. As such, she responds to Kasyr's jabs with the right sword by skipping back a step, disengaging Ko'tar from the other sword to bat at its companion, before she circles to the kensai's left--she'd like to see him continue those jabs when he has his second katana in the way. Not that she waits to see him adjust, as she's already rushing back in, gown rustling and Ko'tar raised. But the icy weapon isn't raised to strike, it's intention purely to lock swords anew, in time with the music's rising rumble of drums and sudden end.

Corbin enters at such a late hour! Cause. It takes forever for a kid to get to these things on his own! Don't worry. He totes has permission. Mom and Dad are in the other room dancing all romanticish-like. Corbin on the other hand... he leaps into the room! On his arms and legs there are bits of flat stone glued to his skin. He's wearing a pointy hat and in one hand is a drowish dagger. Kid gets around, y0.

Nowfaleena smiled as she noticed Xannol dozing off again, "sleep well." Meanwhile, Strend instantly perked up at seeing Corbin enter, "Corbin!" He shouted, jumping to his feet and running over to the boy. His sister blushes softly and stands, following her brother, smiling softly. Maybe she would get to dance tonight after all!

Kasyr follows Satoshi's moment, and responds in turn- the blade on his left side slammed into hers forcefully, whilst an inward step with his right foot brings his body in closer- so he can apply just enough force between their weapons that when they drag up together it sparks, "Nice to see all those sword lessons get put to use, cherie." Even as the music comes to an end, the Kensai still keeps those weapons locked, "It's flattering, really, that my lessons have helped you keep sharp."

Corbin should probably pay a little more attention to his posts since he just showed up on his own with his parents in practically the same sentence. Wrongs will be righted! He grins towards the sound of his own name. Yes! People he knows! "Strend! Lyla!" The boy leaps over the snoozing wizard, able to keep that hat on his head. Magic? Nah. Kid has a big head. "Is this place cool or wha...ooooh." Those big brown eyes spot the food. "Oh man..."

Xannol begins to mutter inchoherent words, inlly falling asleep , his head on the table.

Satoshi flashes a grin and moves forward to press a kiss to the kensai's cheek before she steps back, freeing Ko'tar. As the blade is returned to its sheathe, it emits a ringing trill of ice over metal and then a soft click when it locks into place. Kasyr is given a bow then, as the end of the dance calls for, while beneath the masking locks of her hair she offers him a smirk and wink just for him. "Did you think I continued with those lessons because I enjoy being injured~? Honestly!"

Misaki appears once again against the wall she was leaning against earlier, her crossbow strapped tightly to her hip. Her hair was still red from the blood that had gotten in it earlier, but there was less of it now. Her white hair had turned a darkish pink color. She waas running her fingers through the new color, frowning slowly... it just went from the bottom of her earlobe to the very tip of her hair, which was around her waist area, but she was thinking of just cutting it off. Too much of a hassle to clean throughly.

Kasyr steps' back from Satoshi, if only to do a brief flourish of his blades, ending with them sliding back into their sheathes. It's only then that he returns his wife's bow, a particularily mischievous wink offered to her, "Some people are into that kind of thing, Cherie." He straightens up, offers a careless shrug- and than simply extends the crook of his arm to her, "So, worked up an appetite? Because I'll confess, I have been eyeing some of the things on the bar." Like dem steaks. ...The Mammoth had been tempting to. But well, than Gorz happened.

Thea slides off to a quiet corner with her escort, engaging in a bit of light conversation that may soon prove informative.

Corbin is probably gonna fight Kasyr for Satie's love if Leena doesn't come back soon!

Tiphareth escorts the Pixie to another room of the Academy, where they may more privately exchange words.

Satoshi accepts the offered arm happily to join the kensai at the food table. While she's not exactly hungry, the kit does help herself to one of the Snowflake Apples--at least it's guaranteed to be free of Ekhart's ivory shards. A moment before she takes a bite, however, sudden realization hits her and the apple is promptly stowed behind her back. The magus gestures for the minstrels to cease their playing, and as the song falls quiet, Satoshi clears her throat to collect the attention of the rest. "Ladies and gentlemen, We just wanted to thank you all for attending the royal ball. As you likely know, this is not simply a party, but a celebration for the completion of the Royal Academy of Aramoth. It is with this school that we hope to invite masters of every combat art from around the realm, so that they may teach their skills and learn new ones alike, as the God of War would want. Along with celebrating the construction's end, Frostmaw is hosting a festival in honor of Aramoth. There will be many events, for every type of person, but most importantly it will feature a contest for those with fighting spirit. Tonight serves as as that contest's beginning. The Blade Dance that just took place was that start, and so I happily announce that the Fight Fest is on! We invite fighters of every shape, size, and skill level to take part, to seek out combat in any form that they can, to challenge any opponent they encounter, and to care not about the victory or defeat, but simply who has the ferocity to fight more than any other! This will continue for the next four days, and on the eve of the final day, we will announce which combatant engaged in more battles than any other. That person will be given a considerable purse of 60,000 gold, part of which is a gift from Larket courtesy of the Steward Kelovath. Thank you, once again, and please enjoy yourselves here for as long as you desire." Satoshi nods to mark the end of the announcement and the minstrels promptly begin their music, to the background cheers of the Frost Giants in attendance.

Kasyr just sorta chills out at the food bar, snackin' on steak. Omnomnom.

Satoshi rejoins Kasyr, crunching on an apple. Omnomnom indeed~.

Corbin pushes up the sleeves to his too big tuxedo jacket and marches right up to Satoshi. Moved by her speech, he was. "I wanna fight! I'm a good fighter." He waves his dagger around. The one that still has Kuzial's blood on it. That stuff doesn't wash off for nothing! Not even with mother's best scouring sponge that he had to hide cause drow blood ruined it. "I practiced with the boulder man!" Which explains the stones on his skin.

Satoshi finishes her current bite of apple before grinning down at the boy. This is precisely the point of the festival, for those with fighting spirit to come forth, no matter what people might think of their chances. "Good!" Satoshi declares with a fierce grin. Another bite of the apple is taken with a satisfying crunch. "Then you go out there, and you battle every person you can! I expect to see you again in four days, to collect your prize."

Corbin is nearly fearless. He stood up to a bear once! A werebear. It was a grand fight! With punches and growling and... okay so the bear picked him up by his pants and carried him to the edge of the woods. It was still a fight! The boy dances around Satoshi, waving his dagger in the air. "I'm gonna! And when I win that prize, I'm buying my mom a dress cause moms like dresses!" His dance stops there in front of Kasyr. "I like your hat." That dagger is pointed at the kensai. "Fight you for it!"

Kasyr looks at corbin, before he promptly sidles over towards one of the punch bowls, "Sure. Just have a little toast to your imminent victory first." ...Yeah, Kasyr's a -baaaaad- person. Though it's certainly better than frying the kid.

Satoshi's squints at Kasyr. Right up until realization dawns and she's suddenly looking everywhere but at Kasyr. She'd seen him loitering by the punch bowl earlier, although she'd thought little of it. It's only his sudden insistence now that Corbin drink, that Satoshi figures it out. You don't stay married to the revenant without learning to find the full meaning behind seemingly innocuous comments. Softly she clears her throat again, to say, "Once you've had your little toast, perhaps you boys should step outside to fight? You wouldn't want to accidently stab a dancer, would you?" A ruse, really. Satoshi intends to use the time it takes Corbin to drink, to allow herself to slip away from the ball for a quiet moment--and she intends to take the revenant with her, before he has the chance to maim a child. Hopefully, Corbin will be hit so hard by whatever Kasyr spiked the punch with, that he won't make it to the door in the first place.

Corbin puts his dagger away with a laugh. This guy will be easy to fight! He looks into the punch bowl. There's no toast in there! It is punch! "Okay. Sir. I'll have some... toast." He giggles and pours himself some of the beverage. The glass is held up high and he toasts without knowing what it is. "To winning!" The cup is lifted to his lips. Down the hatch!

Kasyr might be getting dragged by the arm by Satoshi, but that doesn't mean he can't resist long enough to pilfer a glass and get a little toast of his own going on. It's only when Corbin finishes that the Kensai stops resisting, and the Kensai deigns to add, "...Sooo. Wizard-y Absinthe. Does he need to get to the healer?"

Kasyr is a terrible person.

Redhale springs from one of the coloured lanterns in a burst of purple flame, scoots his way across the floor and proceeds to cut some sweet moves to the wild stylings of the house minstrels before slinking away and disappearing into an open bottle, which does a little jig itself before being re-stoppered and put back on the drinks table.

Kasyr ...isn't sure whether he saw that, or if that's a side-effect of Wizard-Brand Absinthe.

Corbin takes one step towards the door, threatening Kasyr in the drowishest way he knows. "I'm gonna face with your stab and a chicken!" Yes it worked that fast. He's eleven! And on the floor, konked out. He only thinks he's a wizard.

Satoshi cautiously nudges Corbin with the toe of her boot. The kid seems to be breathing. That's a good sign, right? Probably a good thing Satoshi never actually became a mother, now that we think about it. Again she nudges Corbin, purely for kicks. "Do you think I should count that as a fight? I mean, he -did- challenge you, and he fought. ..Technically. Sort of."

Corbin is breathing and alive.

Kasyr snaps his finger, and then leans back, "He wanted a battle of brawn, et got bested at a battle of wits. Et, that I'd get bested at one of those? Inconceiveable." There's a pause there, before the Kensai coughs and casually adds, " ..I guess at a really lazy drinking contest, by extension. With a kid." Hey, still totally inconceivable that he'd win. Anyways, while Satoshi nudges at Corbin, the Kensai casually walks over to the kid, if only to lazily put his hand above the kids head, "Breathin'. Call a healer anyways, then stick 'im with with an I.O.U. for the bill." The revenant's certainly not paying for it.

Satoshi decides, in a moment of charity that would make Ko'tar proud, that Corbin has earned that point toward the Fight Fest. The boy is given a light pat on the head from Satoshi before she stands up, murmurs, "Rest well, tiny warrior~" and rejoins Kasyr. Although the ball is still ongoing, for the magus, this is the end of it. She needs to be back out in the cold and snow, with a kensai for company.
