RP:Feeding the Flames

Frostmaw Tavern

Daisy will start then! With an entering post of entry and a giant shove of that way heavy door. Frostmaw doors have to be heavy to keep the cold out. This one is no exception! You'd think one of those giants could help a kitten out but noooo. They're too busy checking facespace on their nosepads. Psh. Anyway! There's the kitten and she goes right to the fireplace. Did anyone tell you I put a fireplace in here? Totes did. It's just... not official or anything.

Satoshi is going to have to see a terramancer about a fireplace, because Daisy's appearance has just removed that cozy, center-of-the-room firepit over to the damned wall! How rude! Satie happened to have been enjoying sitting in front of that fire, thanks very much. With something like a great deal of dramatic huffing and grumbling, the kit rearranges her chair to comply with Daisy's new setup, which in turns lets her spy the druidic kitten and offer a hearty salute. "Sundrop~. How goes your gardening efforts?" No one's died yet, as far as Satoshi's heard, so something -must- be going right.

Daisy didn't mean to move the queen's fireplace! Though she does know of a badass one that hangs from the ceiling that can be installed in the castle that is being created. Definitely have to look into that. The kitten finally notices something other than the fire when she is spoken to. That bright smile of hers dims all the candles. "Your highness! It goes wonderfully! Videlio and I found a piece of amber the size of a basketball! Can you believe it? Ayras should be able to put a lot of electricity in it, I think. Oh! And I found someone to help dig too." Oh yes. This kitten has been very busy.

Satoshi has no clue what a basketball is, but she's pretty sure it must be huge if Daisy's excitement is any form of measurement to judge by! (It's really not, because Daisy's always excited about -everything-). "That's fantastic, Sundrop~. Be sure, when Ayras is shocking that chunk o' amber, you give him a good hard butt in the tail end." For revenge, but Satoshi follows it with a quick, "That helps him focus his lightning better, so it'll help a fair bit~." Or shock her, but shh. That's a surprise.

Daisy really is excited about everything, isn't she? She nods rapidly, sending a dusting of flower petals floating around them. You just know there's always flowers in her hair. "If it will help, then I will do it!" The kitten makes a mental note as she digs in her bag for marshmallows and a stick. Oh look! Conveniently enough, there are two prongs at the end of this stick. Hey. Don't question how she fit that stick in that bag! Ahem. A marshmallow is placed on the end of both prongs for roasting. "Are you really building a school?"

Satoshi watches the marshmallows roast with quiet interest. And she's not the only one. Deep amid the burning logs a pair of fiery orange eyes open and nostrils flare as they sniff the air, a forked tongue of flames darting out of a reptilian mouth as it tastes the air. Carefully, the fire wyrm hatchling creeps through the embers, sniffing and stalking, joints moving with the same crackling noise as the wood surrounding it. Closer, closer... It's over in a flash of fire, one marshmallow gone up in smoke seemingly as the wyrm snatches it off the prong and disappears back into its burning nest. Drargon's spoilt the little thing to the point it's getting bold about thieving from patrons, apparently. "Aha~. Keep an eye on your goodies, Sundrop, or the fire will steal them both," Satoshi says through amused laughter, only afterwards remembering to nod at the kitten's question. "Aye, we're building a school for combat, so folks from all over the land can come here to study other methods and teach their own."

Daisy 's eyes brighten as she watches that little creature steal her marshmallow. Sure she could have pulled the stick away from the fire, but look how cute that thing is! She nearly squees with glee. "Oh I don't mind." The marshmallow still on the stick is pushed off and left by the fire in case that little cutie patootie wants another. Daisy has more marshmallows for roasting. "Oh good! There was a man smoking a pipe in the middle of some rubble. He said he was a knight and kept talking in some strange language."

Satoshi isn't sure who is going to spoil the wyrm hatchling more, Daisy or Drargon. Whichever it is, the kit knows there'll be trouble once the creature grows too large to hide in the firepit anymore. Hopefully that's in years to come... and not months, like most young saurians fed on a steady diet--if marshmallows, ale mugs, wine bottles, and broken furniture count as a 'diet'. For now, however, Satoshi just leaves it be and focuses on the druid's remark. "Did he wear a strange helmet? And lug around a big, spiky, black rock on his back?"

Daisy retrieves some grahm crackers and chocolate from her bag while the marshmallows cook. Hey! Druids don't just eat fruit. "Um. He had a hat and oh! Oh his name was Ignatius." Good job with the remembering thing, kitten! Have a cookie. Or a s'more. Which is what she makes out of all that stuff she has. One of the sandwiches is handed to Satoshi. Daisy doesn't know what the Queen's diet consists of, but it is rude to have a treat in front of others and not offer. "He was nice, but a little creepy."

Satoshi accepts the offered treat, only to surreptitiously give it to the waiting hatchling a few moments later, as the kit herself feeds only on flesh and blood since joining the Undead. The remark about Igantius being 'creepy' gets a laugh out of Satoshi then. "Nocturne? He's a bit odd to look at, yes, but he means well. A gentleman, if ever there was one. You will never have to fear, so long as he is around. He won't let any harm befall a lady, and mostly certainly not in Frostmaw, as he serves here as our Knight-Captain. In fact," the magus pauses mid-sentence to shoo the wyrm away from sniffing at her hand, its snout threatening to singe her gloves, "ahem. In fact, I intend to name Ignatius the headmaster of the school once it's complete."

"Oh good! I was hoping he was telling the truth. Sometimes you can't tell about people until it is too late." She leaves one last bite for the hatchling and tosses it into the fire with a giggle. "Has anyone named it?" She gets as close to the fire as she can without burning her whiskers off.

Satoshi glances toward Drargon to catch the barkeep watching the pair anxiously. For a large, fierce, and powerful Frost Giant warrior, the fellow has a terribly soft spot for winged creatures, most noteably said wyrm hatchling he's been trying to hide in the tavern's firepit. The kit flashes him a grin before answering Daisy, "She's called Aodhan. Mind your fingers though. I doubt she knows the difference between them and food." When you're a wyrm, there -isn't- a difference between fingers and food.

Daisy wouldn't ever hurt her! Drargon has nothing to worry about. Besides. He's seen Daisy in here enough times to know Daisy by now. "Aodhan... She's so pretty!" The kitten takes that warning seriously as she rolls some fruit from her bag into the fire. "Oh maybe she likes meat too."

Satoshi said to Daisy, "I doubt she ca-" Before the words are even out of her mouth, Aodhan has darted forward, jaws gaping, and scooped up every scrap of food left within her reach, all before she zips back into the flames. There is nothing the red and orange scaled creature won't try to eat, be it truly edible or not. From somewhere within the logs and embers, an eager crunching can be heard along with the occasional hiss of a very happy saurian. Satoshi shakes her head. This can't possibly end well once Aodhan has grown too big for the fire. "Ahem, but yes. I doubt she cares -what- you feed her, so long as you're feeding her. Drargon's gotten himself a bottomless pit for a pet." And a waiting insurance claim. "Have fun with her, eh? Just be careful. As for moi, I've got business to attend to." Standing then, Satoshi reaches out to ruffle Daisy's hair. "It was good to see you, Sundrop. Take care~."
