Ymheshphilun leads Ramsi astray, and Ramsi makes a choice...

The RP

Suddenly there was a noise. A horrible, dreadful, almost nauseating -noise-. It was like the driving wind that heralds a deadly snowstorm. It was like the whispers inside the mind of a killer psychopath. It was like rotting leaves brushing decaying bone, or an army marching to war against all that lives and breathes. It was awful, this noise. And to make matters worse, it was growing. It came closer, steadily growing louder and nearer... nearer and louder. Then--right as it was directly underneath them, right as it felt like the very earth was shaking with this terrible sound--it stilled instantly, leaving utter silence. Even the birdsong had ceased. It was a horrible, dreadful, almost nauseating lack of ambient sound that could be -felt-.

Oruki feels a macabre sensation come over the wooded area. The boy then watches from a few yards off as the creature rumbles up to near Ramsi. "That's that mean old centipede thingy Ramsi was talking about!" He whispers to himself. He then turns and runs away towards the tavern.

Ramsi would know that noise from anywhere. Her mint eyes shifted towards the sound. "What do ye want?!" She would scream, not seeing the centipede yet. She glanced as the boy ran. "Shay, go see if he's alrrright..." Shay went and chased after him. The small girl then would take out her sword to lean on it.

There was a rather comical *clunk* noise from underneath a tree, as if the huge centipede had misjudged his entrance point. A feeling of ~Ow!~ radiated from the still subterranean arthropod. ~Filthy tree.~ There was the smell of wood burning, and it subsequently became evident that the centipede had injected firevenom into the tree, burning it from the inside out.

Ramsi would read the centipede's mind. She slightly chuckled a bit. ~Nice one...~ She would think. Then, she would back up, glancing around again. ~What do ye want, eh?~ She would ask now serious. The girl seemed very good and healed up. Color back to her cheeks, except she had three scarred streaks on her cheek where she got slapped by Sammi. She stared at the ground waiting for the centipede to give her an answer. Still leaning on her sword.

Ymheshphilun smashed his way up through the burning wood, finally getting through. He spat out some of the flaming tree-matter, and faced her directly. ~I came to check on you, of course. You're quite important to me.~

Ramsi smirked in a grumpy tone. ~Like ye care. Ye gave meh heck, ye know that? I finally realized that.~ What language for the small girl. No wonder she's been getting smacked. She had a frown on her face, though, it was kind of hard, since he was kind of funny to her tonight and she -was- having a good night.

Ymheshphilun took on a sort of taken aback tone with his mind. ~I help you! I give you strength, do I not?~

Ramsi sighed a little. ~I suppose... Though, still... My life is not good. It's slowly getting back to normal. Ye've hurt many people, ya know, though?~ She added in a rough echo. She then gritted her teeth, slightly scared to look at the bug.

Ymheshphilun gave her a sort of emotionless stare. ~I was made to hurt people. It is all I know. Your enemies have much to fear from me.~

Ramsi paused and pondered. ~I don't even think I have enemies, though. However, I could be mistaking I am missing bits of memory.~ She shrugged.

Ymheshphilun peered hard at the red scrapes on her cheek. ~Obviously you must have enemies,~ he whispered in her mind, gliding effortlessly closer on his multitudinous legs. ~Who else but a foe would have marred your face so? An enemy that maims isn't worth any games.~ Why he slipped into poetry as he circled was quite unknown.

Ramsi kept her gaze on him. She slumped a little. ~Though, I freaked her out. Sammi didn't mean to hurt me, I don't think, anyway.~ She would pause on this for a long moment. Lifting her hand up and placing it on the scrapes. Her eyes shifted down and then lifted back up.

Ymheshphilun slid around, continuing to mentally caress her thoughts, herding her in the direction he wanted her to go. ~Sammi has threatened to kill you. I heard her, in the night. She said it herself. What kind of 'friend' would say that?~

Ramsi made a sad look. ~B-but she told me she wanted me to be her daughter...~ The echoing voice almost strained with sadness. ~Though, she did try to choke me when you were there before...~ She watched him just go around and he -was- getting to her.

Ymheshphilun kept at it. ~Of course she wants to make you her daughter--what better way to make sure you're unwatched by others? Then she'd simply bag you up and throw you in the river, or worse.~ He continued going around and around. ~And yes, she did. You see? Even though you were yourself, she tried to strangle you. She's a foe, Ramsi. An enemy. Not to be trusted.~

Ramsi shuddered and frowned. A tear trickled down her cheek and went over the scrapes, dripping to the ground. She would shake her head. ~How do I get rid of her?~ She asked viciously. Finally, once again, she was on his side. She gritted her teeth tightly, giving him a hard stare with the mint eyes. The tears were gone like they were never there in the first place, she was now filled up with anger and hatred. Nice centipede.

Ymheshphilun's triumphant feelings would have to wait until later. She was on his side without him even pushing himself into her mind, but they were still connected. He stopped circling, and stared back. ~If you want me to, I will deal with her for you. I will make sure she's out of the picture--for good.~

Ramsi was still a little unsure. She glanced away for a second. ~Well, it sounds kinda wrong... Maybe we can deal with her both? Let me see what you are gonna do with her?~ She would slump down again. Getting a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach, her ears pinned back. What was this little girl doing?

Ymheshphilun slid closer. ~Wrong? Protecting your life is nothing short of absolutely correct. In order for me to project images into your mind, I have to connect. May I?~ Noting her body posture, he took on a more cheerful tone. ~If it makes you feel better, she doesn't necessarily have to die.~

Ramsi would back up for a second. ~You may, though, hold on. I don't want her to die, just do something so she can't hurt me. She has a lover, you know. I don't want to take that away from her.~ She would then pause, taking a step forward, she has done this before, but still she was scared to do it again. She closed her eyes tightly and took a deep breath.

Ymheshphilun went down to her level, and gently slid his antennae into her head, making the connection. ~I could make her your servant.~ A picture of Sammi kneeling before Ramsi was shown. ~This would be the most beneficial to you, I believe.~

Ramsi felt a slight pain, but she was alright because it went away. ~This way she won't hurt me and she can't escape...~ She froze in her position, opening her eyes and shifting them to look at the picture. She would smile slightly.

Ymheshphilun changed his appearance in her mind to another child feline, like herself. ~Is that a yes?~

Ramsi nodded very slowly. ~Yes, yes it is. May I be there when you do this?~ She would ask in a pondering echo.

Ymheshphilun made his image grin. ~I will try to have you there. It will be most gratifying, I promise.~ With that, he disconnected, morphing before her eyes back into his normal shape. ~And so it begins...~
