RP:Bonding on the Beach

From HollowWiki

Following the Grand Opening of the Thalra's Treatments and Tinctures, Rorin and Thalra who among the last stragglers take some time to stroll down to the beach to catch up since they saw each other last, and may have started a budding relationship.

Sandy Beach

With almost everyone gone, Thalra takes a shot of bourbon from the bartender and steps up to behind Rorin. "You were my knight in shining armor tonight for trying to keep that Drow under control." She smiled, "Thank you." She waited for his reply, before asking. "The beach is quite nice tonight would you like to join me in a stroll?"

Rorin enjoyed his dance with Thalra and the event and felt inclined with the cool of the evening to follow her somewhere less occupied. When they were alone, he laughed at her words. "A high profile guest was attacked, a large amount of food was ruined, and the offender begrudgingly took him the prize. I'm not exactly sure it was a winning battle," still he smiled, "but thank you for saying so. Accompanying you would be a pleasant endeavor day or night," he told her as he would place his arm around hers. He wasn't quite shy or nervous, but if he stopped to think about it, he wasn't really sure what he was doing in the company of someone so breathtaking.

As Thalra moved with Rorin to the beach away from the cleaning up of her shop and the dropping explicit chef. Moving with Rorin arm and arm she said, "It's been a while since I saw you last, have you made any progress in Larket?"

Rorin sighed a bit, "I've not really been hanging around the place. It's gotten even more dangerous there for anyone who isn't being forced to worship their dark god." And the royals in return, he supposed.

Thalra nodded in understanding, "So where have you been?" She asked as they stepped onto the soft beach sand. "I noticed you well not exactly formal but very classy at best, a man in leather is something to behold." She laughed with smile.

Rorin ruffled his already messy hair, "I've been around I suppose. Training in Kelay has taken up much of my time." He snorted a little with embarrassment, "I honestly didn't know it was a formal event or I would've worn something a little more flattering. Speaking of, your outfit is uh, really wonderful," he tried not to stare for too long and remind himself she was more than beautiful, she was also generous, kind, thoughtful- all around a pretty wonderful woman.

Thalra chuckled, and blushed mildly, "I let you on a little secret love, Its not really a formal dress, i mean here its recognized as such, but back home across the seas, its something one wears to go to bed in." She winked. "Or at the very least, something to wear when your retiring your bed chambers. " She smiled with slight bit of embarrassment. "I got so tied up with party arrangements i forgot to get a designer clothing for the night."

Rorin could definitely see it as something one would wear in a more private setting for sure. Either way, it uh, fit her well, yeah. "Well not every social engagement requires the latest dress and gown," he replied humbly, "Sometimes even a simple old piece can suffice." He did own some formal wear, though it wasn't anything new or exciting, as a paladin of Arkhen it wasn't right of him to wear anything not prioritizing function, however as a knight of Frostmaw, there was an odd opposition to this, requiring rather fierce and noble attire. These thoughts and more ran on in his head as he looked towards the horizon, lost in his own little world like so many other times.

Thalra nodded, "Its why i chose it looked nice and it served a purpose." She paused, "Tell me a bit more about being a paladin, of whom you serve and why."

Rorin sighed again with the heavy questions as his clear silver eyes focused in on their mental purpose. "Being a paladin is not something one chooses, it is something one is chosen to do. I was taken in by the temple of Arkhen as an orphan, and raised with them, taught and loved by them. Vagabonds and children of war became my ever changing family, and the wise words of the elders and ancestors were what I had to guide me. Still, they say that it is as if I were born for this task. Born to take this weight upon my shoulders, that I should act as an agent of the gods. I choose to serve Arkhen however as I am because it is a way of peace, of light and life, of love and wonder. I have seen many terrible things and been subjected to much strife, but through it all I know that should I seek council, the path of light shall always be there to guide me. I could ignore my calling, but I would not ever consider to do so, because even as a child I idolized the tales of heroes of old, the wise, the beautiful, the strong, in both faith, and body. They inspired me to be more. To do more. To never allow another person to suffer my plights. That is why I am who I am," his young eyes were full of wonder and purpose, burning to ask questions and receive answers of the world, even if it took his whole life to know his purpose or fulfill his calling, he would devote himself to helping everyone he could along the way

Thalra listened and finally nodded. "Thats is noble, I only wish I could have made a choice like that long ago." She paused, "A hundred and fifty years ago rorin, I was as bad, maybe even worse than the drow I met today, I shudder every-time memory replays what i did it." "I wish for anything so Divine would snatch up many drow young ones and take them to the surface let them grow up outside the culture and in nonthreatening hands, Memory loss could never have been a better blessing for me, not knowing who I was, I lived a different life and when I regained those memories, how could I choose hate, when I felt so much love." She wiped a tear from her eye, as she stopped from walking.

Rorin turned to her and held her other hand between his, "we are not all a product of our upbringing," he told her, "people change, time passes, such is the way of things. Forgiveness is for all of us," he thumbed away one of her tears gently, "you are free. You are your own person, not shaped by others, but cultivated by many hands in the soil of your heart. Perhaps it was divine providence which gave you this second chance, or perhaps it was a happy accident. Either way, do not mourn your past, or who you were. You've forged your own path, and now the only person who is left to forgive you, is yourself." He smiled at her gently and knew that he spoke from the heart, many truths that prove themselves elf evident in the tales of old, and the lives of the past.

Thalra thought about his words for a moment, "Your right, It's difficult, but you are correct." She looked at him, it was kinda of hard not too they were after all the same size. "Rorin, what god blessed you with such entrancing silver eyes, and heart that is able to reach into another's and touch it so?" She smiled, "I have a room in above my shop a guest bedroom of sorts, I would appreciate someone filling it when your here in cenril." she offered a small kiss to his cheek her soft lips touching his face.

Rorin laughed cheerfully, he wasn't sure why anyone would think a boy his age would sound deep or wise. His eyes opened wide with a small gasp and a blush at the gentle kiss of his companions lips upon his cheek. He looked at her, almost bashfully, "I'd be happy to," he managed to reply.

Thalra smiled, "I would appreciate your company, just as I do now." She looked toward the beach, and listened to the crashing of the waves. She enjoyed for a few minutes his company along the beach. Then she said, "If you would like to return, I bet that the chef left some pastries out, and um, maybe i can help you get settled in." She said, holding leaning against him Rorin shuffled a bit, his shyness coming on fairly easy now. "I'd like that," he said softly, hoping there were those chocolate stuffed soft breads. A place to hang up his coat and unwind would be nice too, as the events of the grand opening had been somewhat tense, and he could use somewhere to relax that wasn't a temple cot, even if he had grown used to it. You smiled a small smile and slowly led him to her place, with most of it cleared up and what food remained, She thanked the chef, and paid him double as the event had put much food to waste with the magic snake, She offered Rorin, a plate and let him select what he wanted before the rest would be placed in an ice house out back. She opened the freight elevator and motioned for him to join her. "I know its a little odd in these lands, but it's safe."She pressed the button and the doors opened to a spacious living room not more than a minute later. "Welcome home Rorin."

Rorin thanked his gracious hostess and walked around the small apartments, happy to have somewhere to hang his head. It wouldn't be long before his coats were up and he was down, sleeping soundly to the sound of the Cenril shore. {{Region:Cenril|RPs}
