RP:Arahil meets Riotka

From HollowWiki

Aranhil | The Herbomancer worked behind the desk, counting the number of Black Helmets they would have collected this day. The helms were simply thrown in a pile behind the counter where they always sat until Aranhil would move them to the basement below. As he finished he would look up as the door was opened and Aranhil entered as he always did around this time. Aranhil took off his golden Helm and tossed it to the Herbomancer who then caught it and gave a questioning look. "I gathered it from a man this day, place it behind the counter, I plan to pass it on to Riel." The elf would nod understanding who Riel was and placed it behind the counter separate from the other helms. "We have quite a few this day, ten in total since they keep sending their scouts this way." Aranhil would nod assuring him he had heard as he to counted the helms behind the counter.

Riotka pushes past the door. The Dragon in his human guise barely glances at the two chatting. Looking over the various plants as he ran his hand gently over a bottle. Ducking past some odd plant hanging from the ceiling. His eyes scanning the jars as him mind quickly identifies the ones he knows. His hand dances from one bottle to the next then his fingers glide over another. Riotka half smiling at the mention of scouts, as he makes his way past another large pot and on to the counter. "I have a question for you, What is it you think they -do- with all these helmets they collect. Surely not to just melt them down." Riotka's tone was plain. He looked rather weathered, as if he had been outside for months on end.

Aranhil | The elf and the half elf turn to attempt and see the man speaking though they only find glimpses of him as he wonders around the shop. Neither of them had noticed his entry and so now they were both on alert. Aranhil would speak back as was customary when spoken to. "I do not know, all I know is there is a man out there that collects these helms from us and pays us to do so as well, even if we insist payment is not needed. It seems this man wishes the Prekleks gone as well for he pays to see the items that they wear which would surely mean their death. So tell me, who are you, and how do you have such knowledge of these things as well?" The two elven beings had collected their magic up, the Herbomancer spreading it into the plant life around him slow and steady so as to not be detected, each plant that still grew within the shop was meant only to defend it, so they were all weapons hidden in plain site. Aranhil on the other hand had little magic, but what he did have funneled quickly into that of his rings, and not so well hidden was it either as he has yet to gain control of it fully.

Riotka steps silently from out the shadows created by the hanging plants. "I'm Master Riotka of the clan Flaming Claw. But please call me Riotka." He then bowed with superb form. "I didn't mean to frighten you, the smell of plants drew me in to you humble shop, and I couldn't be help over hear your talking with your friend. I happen to be in charge of the Flaming Claw's Preklek unit, thus it is my job to know such things." he now paused and awaited them to take all this in. Riotka had been in this situation before, not often are people of his size or race this quite of foot. Riotka's true crystalline form could feel the pull of the magic in the room and running threw the plants. He remained calm knowing the plants them selves would scene his true intent.

Aranhil | Both of the elves allowed their magic to dispel into the air as they realized who the man was befor them. Now they saw him for who he was, Riotka of the Flaming Claw, each of them knew of the clan, it was the clan that had got them started hunting Prekleks so many years ago. Aranhil said nothing as he looked the man over now and soon enough his eyes would fall upon the pendant around the human's neck. There his eyes would stay for several moments as his elven eyes took in every detail. 'This is indeed Riotka, no other could wear that pendant,' he would think to himself as still he observed it. The other elf would break the silence first, "We know of you and your clan Riotka of the Flaming Claw. It was your clan that got us started hunting the Preks. Your clan spread knowledge years ago throughout the lands, we were of the few that listened and then trained to battle against them." By now Aranhil had long ago recognized the man to be who he claimed to be and so also he knew this was not his true form, 'A dragon!' he thought almost out loud as his blood boiled wanting badly to challenge him to a battle and take on a dragon. However he held himself back, for now he was Aranhil, not Riel, he would contact the Dragon later as Riel did before and challenge the being. And then for the first time his eyes left that of the pendant and instead turned back to the elf, hoping that seeing him would somehow hope to calm him, then he would turn again for the human, "Is there anything we can help you with in our store?" he said trying to hide the anticipation for a battle form his voice.

Riotka could feel the air changing, he didn't need the ability to read minds, he could smell sweat and adrenaline. His head never changed position yet his eyes glanced over the half elf eying his pendent. His eyes swiftly moving forward as the gaze on the pendent was broken. Riotka pushed back some white hair back to the top of his head. One of the give aways of Riotka's true form. Responding to the elf first Riotka nods, "It pleases me to hear you speak so highly of us. We are the old guards of this land. Many of the weak spots on their armor and tactics were first discovered by our units. They are used as common practice to defend the land, that is as much as one can hope far." He smiled, or at least the best he could manage. His eyes move over again to the half elf, looking down his eyes glowed slightly, "Not now." His answer stern yet seemingly intended for an unspoken question. Quickly looking back to the slightly lost elf again behind the counter, "What I mean to say is, I am in need of a new cloak, and I don't believe you have what I require in stock at this moment." Again smiling, this one looking a bit more convincing than the last as he holds up the end of his cloak to the others, showing it's tattered edges.

Aranhil would think to himself as he held a finger up as if meaning to wait a moment, he would then scramble downstairs to his basement where many other things were stocked away, things that would never appear on this stores shelves, but perhaps a different one in the future should he decide to finally open another. The other Elf would explain what was happening, "Below in the basement Aranhil keeps a variety of Armor and weapons he has.. uh.. liberated from fallen people in battle. He cant save them all," he hoped that he saved himself from giving away Aranhil's potential in battle with the last bit of the sentence he had tacked on there. Soon enough Aranhil would emerge through a door in the back of the store with but a single item. "Sorry, I thought I might have something closer to what you want. All I could find in my back stock was this high-collared leather cape, if you would like it by chance, its cost is twenty-two hundred gold pieces."

Riotka offered a waving hand to the cape. "Not a problem, I am not in a rush for this item," He paused and a pondering look came over his face as he stared at the cloak "Something like that should be worn some where nice, is that not correct? Surly that too wasn't taken from ....umm I mean slightly used?" Riotka only stopped for a moment. Then puts his nose to the air. "There is one thing, now that you mention it." Riotka sniffs a couple of time, walks one way, stops and sniff again. Changing directions slightly until coming to a small gathering of pots with spices in there. "Here it is, You have catnip. I know some one who loves this breed of plant." His tone sound almost joyful for a second before his normal composer takes control again. "You do seem to have quite a good stock for a shop so small." Riotka nods to himself.

Aranhil would nod towards the man and answer him as well, "It is used indeed, but not from one dead as I am sure you suspect. No I use to wear this myself, but the length is a tad to long for one like myself. Besides, I feel as if in a tight place when wearing it, and I dont like that feeling." He would place the cape on the counter now and watch as the being wondered once more around the shop. "We do keep good stock, though I could not do so as easily without my help behind the counter there. I sell some things from my shop as well as the cart I push Around Hollow which you may have passed on the way in here." Aranhil watched the being as he did whatever he may do next, and not really understanding the phrase 'catnip,' he assumed it was a word that meant a certain herb or potion back where the dragon was from that he simply had not heard before.

Riotka set a few coins on the counter, then his hand waved off the small amount of change that was due. "I thank you for your time." he paused and held up the plant, "And the plant." Riotka looked to one then the other. "I failed to get your names, It's nice to know the names of those you do business with." he paused and looked to the door. "The hour is getting late and I must be going..." Riotka smiles...But this time really wide. "You don't want a hungry dragon in your store." Riotka then begins chuckling to himself. "I am sorry I seem to not have the hang of jokes every one laughs at." regaining his composure, he begins placing his things in his bag. "I hope to see you again." he said as he nodded to the elf. Turning back to the half elf again he said as he began to turn and leave. "And maybe I'll show you some moves sometime," pausing as a smile crept thew. "Ever seen a prek head pop?" Riotka again laughs as he makes he way for the door.

Aranhil smiles as the human exits intrigued at what a Preklek head would look like to burst. He contemplated gathering the Prek he had in the basement to find out as the dragon escaped from his sight.
