RP:Annabelle meets Sidney & Aevo

From HollowWiki

Sidney and Aevo's voices can be heard coming in from the distance, their conversation slightly heated. "I dun get that at all, mate. She ain't even say it t'yer face. She says that she be wantin' t'have things cool between ye's..and then takes off? Tis a damn mystery t'me, mate." Aevo's words were quickly responded to by Sidney. "I don't know. I... don't care anymore. The only thing I know is that ...love..is a nothing but a fairytale made up to give others hope." The two hadn't spotted Annabelle yet as they closed in on her position, too busy griping about some woman named 'Saiyuri', love, and drinking.
Annabelle’s emerald gaze is lifted by the sounds not kin to this place. She looks over her shoulder to the east from the place she sat resting comfortably against the tree. The book is lowered. Here, she thought she was to have silence, and even in a less traveled place such as this she is made company to drunks and strangers. Her posture is righted, as much as it could be considering it wasn’t a fraction of an inch off than what it should have been. Her eyes stay fast on the two men and she makes an attempt to not concern herself with the actual words. Business, it would seem, was not hers. She clears her throat politely, making her presence known. Had they any secrets they would be hushed by the knowledge of hearing ears.
Sidney and Aevo would soon halt in their tracks, the abrupt sound of the woman clearing her throat cutting of their ill-tempered conversation. Sidney had his strange, eerily shifting mask over his face, cobalt blue gaze peering out through the small eye holes upon the woman. He said nothing, simply nodding politely toward Annabelle in a form of greeting. Aevo, politely offered the woman a smile and a salute, pallid blue gaze shifting to notice the book. "Evenin' luv." he greeted her, soon adding, "Hope we ain't disturbin' ye. Just out fer a lil' stroll with me mate, is all." Annabelle smiles politely at the two and closes the book. “No bother, I am sure. If I truly wanted to be alone, I suppose I would be in the privacy of my own home.” She stands, gracefully and offers them both a formal curtsy; slight bend at the knees and a proper bow of her head. Red locks were bundled in a neat-mess of curls atop her head, brilliant emerald hues soon find the shifting mask of the silent human and her smile becomes slightly more crooked, but no less pleasant. “Fascinating piece you have there… May I ask who enchanted it for you?”
Sidney continued to stare at Annabelle as she rose to her feet and curtsied, offering the polite nod of his head in return. "Har har, aye, ye do raise a pretty good point, lass!" Aevo responded vocally; playfully then to mime her proper nature when he folded one arm before himself, the other tucked behind his back and he bowed. The lycan was a nut. When Sidney was addressed he continued to do nothing but stare, silently. He didn't want to answer her question. He didn't want to talk to anyone. He was depressed, sullen, and completely moody. A deep breath was inhaled, finally deciding it best not to take out his mood this evening upon a stranger. "It was... a gift. From a friend..." he admitted.
Annabelle found Aevo’s propriety… or attempt at it, to be quite amusing. There was nothing proper about the male but he did earn a pleased smile that an attempt had in fact been made. Two thin arms fold down her front, crossing over at the wrists still supporting the heavy book. Approaching Sidney she leans forward, her eyes dancing along the rifts that possessed the mask. “Friends… you must have so many with your stunning personality and talkative nature.” She smiles warmly. “It’s ok, I don’t bite.” A hand once left clutching the bindings of the large book frees itself of its duties and she gestures toward the mask. “May I?”
Sidney held his gaze firm against Annabelle's, the approach made him uneasy. His hands were tucked then into his pockets, balling into fists at first when she spoke. "Not really." he muttered, casting a sidelong glance to Aevo. "Just two." Aevo reached over and took Sidney by the shoulders, giving the human a friendly squeeze. "Me bein' his best o'course." the lycan said proudly, his grin spreading from ear to ear. Once Sidney was released from the other's grasp, he returned to staring Annabelle in the eye, head nodding slowly with her latter question. "Very well." One hand was pulled free from his pocket, reaching up an under the mask to pry it from his face-- revealing that of a youthful male in his early to mid twenties. He would then hold the object out for Annabelle to take and observe.
Annabelle smiles brightly at Aevo, such a cheerful one, not like his brooding friend. Her hand reaches out to take the proffered mask, eyes lingering on Sidney’s face a mild moment before quickly taking in the sights of the piece. “Interesting…” She turns it over to view the inside, soon finding that the enchantment was indeed located there and not on the external surface. “It is a reflection of its wearer’s mood.” She turns it face up once more, staring down into the still abyss that ceased movement having been removed from Sidney’s person. “We used to make these in ring form as children… they are very amusing. I can say I have never seen it done in this manner before…. Two friends you say? “She chuckles lightly “Are you keeping the other in your pocket then?”
Sidney readily let go of the mask, Aevo offering a bit of a wink when she smiled at him. Listening then to the explanation she had given, the assassin nodded his head, as if to confirm what she had been describing. "There be rings that reflect yer mood?" Aevo asked curiously. "I never heard o'such a thing. Tis interestin' though!" Sidney tried to keep a straight face. He was angry, and right fully so, but Annabelle's comment seemed to amuse him. Seeming to pick up Aevo's bad habits, he cracked a smile and said in return. "Indeed. Sharing an intimate moment currently; sorry to have to make it so public." Well this would then set the lycan out, the male laughing out loud and patting Sidney on the back. "Atta' boy Siddy. 'Bout time ye started t'cheer up!"
Annabelle was at a loss for his humor, she feigned a laugh, light as it may have been as she returned the mask to its proper owner. “My name is Annabelle… some people call me Bella. I am not sure why, I don’t like it.” For a split second it almost appeared as if she would frown, but an unbecoming gesture was left from her long ago. “Forgive my rudeness; I have a certain fascination with the science of magic.” Her examining hand reclaims the piece of literature, taking its place on the book as if it never left, and quite unknowingly as well. She had carried books so often that it wasn’t awkward anymore. She looks to Aevo “Something has him down; it is good to have a friend to talk it out.” A soft smile flirts across her lips; it was pleasing to see good deeds in a world, given the rants she read on the tavern board in Kelay only a few short hours prior.
Sidney retrieved his mask and promptly tucked it away in his satchel, the same appendage then lifting to dismiss the apology. "It....is fine." With her interest in magic known, the assassin's gaze turned weary, yet he would introduce himself in a polite manner. "I am Sidney. Nice to meet you... Annabelle." Aevo would pipe up next, another salute given. "Pleasure, Annabelle! I be Aevo!" Bending over to pluck a thin blade of grass from the lush forest carpet, the lycan help the sliver between two fingers, and soon, it would begin to glow. "Ye like magic, aye?" he asked, then to flick the blade of grass outward, the entire thing bursting into small, harmless sparks of white. His ghostly haze of blue looked down to her book momentarily, taking note of it once more while he addressed her latter words. 'Aye, he be havin' girlie problems an' all. So I been tryin' t'cheer 'im up a bit." Sidney lowered his head, not pleased with the lycan mentioning his issues to the woman. "Aevo..." he said quietly.
Annabelle watches Aevo’s trick and smiles, it was odd to see magic used for no real purpose, a waste really. She smiles at him regardless and nods happily. “The science of magic actually; I like to study how it works.” His further explanation of ‘woman problems’ bring a flushed glow to her cheeks. “The opposite sex can be very distracting, or so I hear. Relationships have never been an interest to me… probably not found the right one, who knows.” She turns away; the conversation was becoming awkward to her, mostly because her head was usually in the books rather than in the real world. She makes her way to the tree she once resided and lays the ancient book down. “I am sure whatever you are dealing with, Sidney, it will work itself out. Women have a funny way of expressing themselves I am sure she will come around.”
Sidney shook his head in protest, his worlds cold. "No. it will not. It... is over and done with. I suppose I am still mourning the loss." He would make no further comment, content to stare down at the ground in silence. "She left 'em. Took off back home an' all." Aevo added, thinking Sid's words would moreso sound like she had died. Which is just quite possibly how the younger man felt to begin with. "I'm sure ye'll find a th' right one, one day, luv! Yer pretty, an' yer seemin' t'be one who were well brought up. All polite an' such. Not t'mention, ye seem all smart; What with yer interest in readin, and studies!" Aevo smiled genuinely, the compliments soon given explanation. "Eh, that is t'say if ye dun mind me sayin' so. I be a bit forward at times."
Annabelle looked sad to begin with, thinking the girl had actually died. With Aevo’s explanation though, she seemed sadder still. “Well, if she left, why not find her… it seems logical if you are bound to this woman somehow. “ She never saw herself as the advice type, especially not in this particular area. She smiles proudly at Aevo “I am my father’s pride and joy, all he requires now is a grandchild, but I suppose my brothers will have to help in that department.” She blushes at her prideful rudeness. “I am academically gifted, so I have been told. But otherwise I am quite unattached to the world around me. Nothing holds my interest more than knowledge.”
Sidney looked over at Annabelle, gaze narrowed as he listened to her advice. " I do not know where to find her. I do not know the way to her homeland. Besides, things were elft on a sour note. I am resigned to simply give up." With that, he nodded sternly. By all technical speaking, this had been the man's first lost love, and it pained him to no end. Aevo frowned slighty as he listened to Sid, offering him another pat on the shoulder. Annabelle's explanations would soon turn that frown upside down as he once more started speaking to the woman. 'Well, congrats! be ncie t;know ye've got a wonderful mind, eh? Though, I might suggest that ye find just a lil' conenction to th' world around ye. Otherwise too much knowledge will make ye go insane! Happens t' th' best o' them."
Annabelle didn’t know how to react to Sidney’s dilemma, it had no cure or equation; it simply was just as it was. She felt helpless to be unable to assist him. “Maybe it is for the best, when one door closes another door opens, so they say.” She shrugs lightly, trying to avoid more conversation about the subject. She turns to Aevo, her flushed cheeks unable to be hidden when she adds “A mind is best when it is young and able to absorb… the rest can wait, I am sure. Besides, what few attempts I have made with general companionship usually ends with them having distaste for knowledge in general.”
Sidney dropped to the earthen floor, folding his legs under one another. "Perhaps. I will...keep this in mind." he said to Annabelle, quietly, thoughts soon beginning to surface in his mind. Aevo lifted a brow as he remained standing for the time being. "Oh? Why is that, luv? If ye dun mind me askin that is." The lycan sifted his weight, arms folding voer his tribally tattooed chest. "An' yer words are pretty wise, y'know that? Tis nice t'see someone with a bit'o intelligence now an' again."
Annabelle didn’t need to know how smart she was, by now she had accepted the gift and grown a fondness for not talking about it. She seats herself slowly and gracefully across from Sidney, righting herself properly against the tree, knees tucking thin legs beneath the layers of fabric from her dress. Her eyes linger on Aevo’s tattoos for a time before she catches herself staring. “Do you need money for a shirt?” A strong breeze passes through the crossroads and lifts his kilt enough to make her screech slightly and turn away. Her cheeks were so red she could have been bleeding from them. “I can give you money for pants as well, if it would suit you better.” Her voice was shaky and she looked at anything and everything that was not in his general direction. “You should probably sit down… or something.”
Sidney didn't look up at Annabelle, when she sat down, still entwined with his own thoughts. 'nay, I jes ruin them anyway. What, my body unappealin' or somethin'?" he asked with a raised brow. When she screeched Sidney finally looked up, wondering what in the hell had just happened. Aevo, wincing as he brought a hand down to keep the kilt tame, laughed out loud. "Uhhh...sorry 'bout that, luv. Though, ye ain't needin' t'scream, y'know. It's just natural!" The lycan shook his head, his other hand coming up then to wave the notion off. "I got lots o'money, luv. I prefer me kilt, more room t'run than in some sort' o restrivtive pants." To keep that from happening again, Aevo made his way forward and sat down, next to the pair, a wide smile in place.
Annabelle shakes her head, “I have never seen anyone with those markings, at least… not so many of them” She kept her vision averted from Aevo in the best, most polite way she knew how. She kept her eyes on Sidney. She was still blushing, though not to the extent as previous when she assures him “No harm, no foul. I can’t expect you to control the very winds.” She seemed uneasy, and rightly so. Reaching for the book she lays it gently in her lap, clutching to it for dear life like some sort of savior that would rescue her thoughts from wandering. It was odd behavior not to wear garments that properly covered one’s self, more so to be so free to bear all, be it natural or not.
Sidney looked to Annabelle when she looked at him, giving her a strange glance before then placing his eyes upon Aevo. He still remained quiet, choosing to stay out of the conversation for the time being. The lycan reached over and touched the woman's arm, gently, bearing no ill will or hidden motives. "Oi, ye ain't gotta be so bashful ye know. I ain't gon' judge ye, or 'bite' as ye said earlier. I ain't ashamed o' ma body, or the nekkid, form, you shouldn't either." With those words, Aevo withdrew his hand.
Annabelle had become even more uneasy than before. With his hand on her bare arm she froze. It was not normal to touch another person without permission. Annabelle had never seen a naked man, and most certainly had never been seen by one either. She bites her lip hard and follows his fingers, up his arm before making eye contact with him. A tingling released from her pale skin, more of a static feeling began to build before the touch was broken. “I… I think it has been a long day, the night is getting late. I should probably head home.” She was beyond nervous when she stood with less grace than she had been displaying. She gathers herself as properly as she could and offered the two a formal curtsy once more. “It was a pleasure meeting you, maybe we will run in to one another again at a later time. “ She points to the book, holding it higher. “I still have much reading to do.”

Sidney looked up at Annabelle and nodded slowly. "Very well. God evening, Annabelle." Aevo frowned, he didn't mean to make her so uneasy. Casting the pale blue of his gaze over the woman he offered an apology. "I'm sorry, luv. I didn't mean t'make things so awkward for ye. Ye dun have t'go... Though, if ye really must, it were a real pleasure meetin' ya, as well. Ye take care of yerself, and I certainly hope we run int' ye again."

Annabelle nods to the both of them, quite flustered she heads west, almost in a hurry.
