RP:A Trip Back Home

From HollowWiki

Summary: Meri takes a trip with Magikrios to his home in Sylo Alari.

Treehouse D’Chath (to start)

It's the middle of the night. Kind of. Probably about 5am. Magikrios wakes up and sits up in bed immediately. He pats next to him to feel for Meri then suddenly rolls out of bed and onto the floor. "I have to pee." Then he's off! He runs out of the room, through the main door, down the stairs, and finds himself a quiet area to take of business. He reenters the bedroom just as fast as he left then climbs back into bed. He lays there motionless with his hands folded on his stomach. He then whispers quietly, "Are you awake?"

Meri is not a five in the morning sort of girl and so when Magikrios first reaches over to even feel if she is still sleeping next to him, he is met with some very tired grumbles. All is quickly well in the sleeping woman’s world, her husband rolls out of bed to go pee and she is quick to try and return to her slumber. She does not appear to stir when Magikrios returns to bed, it was a pretty normal experience for the married couple. He must have managed to wake her up enough that she is able to process his whispered words. She wants to pretend that she does not hear him, but eventually the blonde lycan rolls over and tries to entangle Magik between a bit of leg, some arms, and plenty of blanket. “Babe, the sun is not even up yet. What are you trying to do to me.” Magikrios was going to have to try a little harder if he was going to get his sleepy wife out of bed.

Magikrios sighs contently as his beloved wife snuggles up to him. He softly smiles and does a slight wiggle to settle further in with his wife. Between Meri's warmth, their shared blanket, and their incredibly comfortable bed, he starts to drift back off into sleep. What a perfect moment. Well, until he remembers what today is. His eyes shoot open and he turns his head to face Meri. "Do you want to stay in bed or.." Time for the surprise, Meri. "...go to Sylo Alari?" There's not much he can do to brace himself for any sudden movement from Meri, but he's ready for the flailing or a lackluster response. Either way, the journey back home is happening very soon.

“Both.” There was not a single part of Meri that was eager to jump right out of bed and end this cozy moment with her husband. However, she was plenty excited to make the trip to Sylo Alari. Magikrios will not have to worry about sudden movements from Meri. The blonde woman pushes her torso up just a bit, enough so that she can plant a smooch to his cheek and then smoothly rolling out of bed so that she can get dressed. We’ll not be going into all the details, but by now Meri has no shame in changing in front of Magikrios. He is her husband. As she goes through the process of putting on a suitable pair of pants, some sort of top comfortable for traveling, and her boots, she is also asking questions like, “Do we have time for coffee at least? And breakfast? Or are you in a rush to get out of here?” Three questions in a row. It seems that some things never change…is Meri still on that question limitation that Magik put her on way back when they first got together? It would not be long before Meri is dressed and trying to remember where it was she stuck that bag she packed. Spoilers, it’s in plain sight. Be nice, she has not even had coffee yet.

Magikrios slides off the side of his bed as Meri gets dressed and attempts to find his own clothes. Was that a clean shirt? Nope. That's just Vhid sleeping on the floor next to the bed. Magik may have had a peek or two at his wife getting dressed while he tried to find some clean pants of his own. Shirt, pants, and..boots. Where are Mag's..Oh. Next to Vhid on the floor as well. The elf takes a seat on the bed as he starts lacing his boots up and begins answering Meri's questions. "There's a pot of coffee brewing now, started it before I came back inside." One down. "I have some food packed for the ride. I want to at least get passed Enchantment before sunrise. Shouldn't take us that long to get there." Did Magikrios say ride? That's all three questions, right? After both boots are laced up, Magik turns to Meri and points, "Your pack is by the foot of the bed, my love. Do you want to take the horses or fly there? I figured we could take our time and enjoy a nice long ride together. But, I'm totally okay with getting there as soon as possible.." He really was alright with either decision. Might be beneficial to get a better look at southern Sage to add some more things to his to-do list. He's determined to get Kelay and Sage back to their former glory. After two wars, it's starting to look a little run down. Anyways! Magikrios reaches under the bed to pull out his own pack and sets it next to him while Meri communicates what she wants to do. Sylo Alari, here we come, one way or another!!

A light smirk twitches at her lips at Magik points out where her pack is and that he already has coffee ready. He probably is hard pressed to see this as Meri is bustling around trying to get dressed. The get ready routine for this morning is kept quick, with the blonde forgoing her usual application of red lipstick. By time Magikrios is done talking, she is swooping up her pack so that they could start progressing toward the front door. “Given the choice between flying or riding, you know I am going to pick riding.” Though Meri has made improvements on the flying front during their time together. “Why don’t you get the coffee ready to go for the road while I saddle up the horses?” It might have sounded like a question but it wasn’t really for Meri leans down toward Magikrios to smooch him on the cheek before she slinks through their bedroom door and then out the hut entirely. No, there is no checking on Fleur. Undoubtedly these two have made responsible arrangements and the blonde sees no reason to wake the sleeping child. She’ll be fiiiine. Once Magikrios had the ever important coffee and road snacks ready to go, he would easily find his wife at the very base of their treehouse abode. She would be standing in the small barn they built especially for their horses. The blonde already had Kadence saddled up and ready for the road and was in the process of situating the straps properly for Storm’s saddle. Wait, no. She is done with that too. All that is left to do is get on the horses and hit the road!

Magik finally puts on his own pack after the quick smooch from Meri. He takes a quick look around the room after Meri mentions she's going to tend to the horses while he finishes up inside getting the coffee and snack made. As Meri slips outside, Magik heads to the kitchen to get their coffees together in these unique coffee steins that are perfect for traveling. Amazing. Coffee made, snacks gathered and thrown into his backpack. Magik then takes a quick lap around the treehouse to check for anything he might have forgotten. Definitely not his bow. That's in his pack already. Probably. Kitchen, clear. Bar and pool area, clear. Sleeping quarters, check. Mirsh and Fleur will be splitting their time between the treehouse, the gallery, and maybe with Khitti at the bakery. Maybe. With the treehouse finally cleared, Magik heads outside and to Meri and the horses, "Ready when you are, love." Magik then proceeds to get on Storm. He gives his butt a little wiggle to settle into the saddle better, takes the reins and he's ready for a nice long ride with his wife.

The ride would not be an entirely silent one, for Meri has always been a little bit of a talker. They might have moments where they can enjoy the peace of the forest in quiet but Meri is bound to make observations and is surely brimming with questions. There is one topic that the couple might touch upon that is worth highlighting. Once they are a decent distance away from any amount of civilization, Meri broaches the topic of their clan. Even though they are in the middle of nowhere, the blonde does not speak entirely freely over this organization that is not supposed to exist. “It has been awhile since we have marked anyone, hasn’t it?” Meri says with a bit of a lifted brow. “And yet, a couple of faces no longer seem loyal to us….I think we should…consider another mark or two.” Meri twists a bit upon her horse so that she can get a better view of Magik’s facade. “You know Leoxander, right? Tall, blonde, scruffy looking, pirate vibes. Usually greets us with at least a nod when we’re out in public? It seems like he is finally making his mark on Rynvale again. And he was quite useful when we were trying to obtain a certain saddle….Enough that we gifted him with that ship when it was all said and done…I think he would be worth our effort and I think we should look to consider more marks.”

Magikrios was in his own little world as the ride continued on, obviously between conversations with his wife. As soon as Meri decided to break the silence, Magik makes a clicking noise in his cheek and turns Storm off of the dirt path they were following into the forest. Hopefully with Meri keeping up next to him, he looks to her as they start walking through the thick forest. He hmm's quietly just before replying, "Things have been rather quiet with the, uh, crew, lately, huh? With Leoxander being in Rynvale, that gives us some eyes out there for once..And a boat?" Magikrios slightly smirks then nods, "If you trust him, then yes, let's go for it." And as if it appeared out of nowhere, they find themselves in front of a small and simple cabin in the forest. Magikrios and Storm stop in their tracks. Magik stares at the small cabin for a moment until he finally blinks and looks over at Meri once again. "You said mark or two. Did you have someone else in mind or should we just keep our eyes out for another?" Before Meri can answer, the forest seems to come to life a little bit more. There are some children laughing in the distance as well as some birds chirping just above them in the treetops. There's a bit of rustling going on behind the cabin, probably a deer or a few small squirrels running around. No other buildings can be seen just yet, but the center of Sylo Alari is just out of sight. Magikrios is home and he's brought his wife this time.

Meri did not follow Magikrios when he veers off the dirt path….Just kidding. Of course she does, the blonde has no trouble keeping Kadence in relative stride with Storm. As they approach the cabin in the woods, a brow is lifted as Meri notes her husband’s reaction to the cabin. Meri does not lose track of their present conversation despite her curiosity. Nor does the sound of children laughing does not completely silence Meri, thankfully she sometimes has half a brain up in that blonde skull of hers and manages to keep her answer vague, “No. I don’t. Just that we should keep our eyes open.” While the topic of the Syndicate of Shadows was one Meri wanted to visit, it was not one she wanted to spend too much time dwelling over. How often did she and Magikrios really get to take time away from Kelay, Cenril, or their busy lives? Meri was happy to allow a moment of silence to fall over them so that she can note the differences in the forests here compared to those in Kelay. The trees were not the only detail that Meri was soaking in, the lycan woman is probably picking up on all sorts of sights, sounds, and smells that the average human would miss. She could probably tell Magikrios if it was really a deer or a couple of squirrels making that rustling noise behind the cabin. Meri being the way she is, the blonde can only keep quiet for so long. Eventually the woman smirks and teases her husband with, “Are we there yet?”

Magikrios looks to Meri for a quick second as she mentions she had no one else in mind, but that they should keep their eyes out. The elf nods in agreement then smirks as Meri asks if they are there yet, "I will turn this horse around if you ask me that again.." The elf chuckles as he starts to dismount. Finally on his own feet, Magik stretches, does a couple twists, and tries to touch his toes once or twice. It's tough getting old. He then looks to Meri, "This is where it all began.." Or ended. Well, the fact that he was a normal elf ended if anything. Magik grabs Storm's reigns and leads her to the closest tree. With a quick tie around the base of the tree, he heads towards the cabin, assuming Meri has dismounted herself with no issues and tied Kadence off as well. Don't need any orcs making off with their rides. Magik steps to the front door of the cabin and walks right in. No door knob jiggle, no peeking through the windows, he just walks right in. Well, it is his house afterall. The door swings open and he says out loud, "Honey, I'm home." It was obvious no one was in the cabin and he looks over his shoulder to playfully stick his tongue out at his wife. "Shall we?" Magik finally takes a step into his childhood home.

The cabin is as simple as can be. Magik and Meri are stepping right from the front door and into the living/common room. There's a simple couch and single chair that face the front window and front door. Next to the couch against the wall sits a simple fireplace. Behind the couch is the dining area that features a small wooden table with just three chairs set. The kitchen sits next to the dining room with a wood oven and limited counterspace. The kitchen is connected to a short hallway with two bedrooms opposite from each other. The bedroom down the hallway and to the right was obviously Magik's when he was a young boy.

As Magik steps into the living room, he looks at the fireplace and snaps his fingers. There's a quiet 'poof' sound and the fireplace is lit. Magik takes a deep breath in as he looks around the cabin, looking for anything out of position.

Meri dismounts her horse around the same time that Magikrios does, lingering near her own horse so that she can begin to loosen the straps of the saddle from about the horse's belly. Making the horses comfortable after their trip is interrupted briefly, so that Meri can slide right up behind Magikrios when he is trying to touch his toes just to give his rump a flirtatious little pinch. Back to business, Kadence is freed from her saddle and tied to a post, and then the tattooed blonde follows Magikrios inside of his childhood home. Meri issues a smirk in response to Magik sticking his tongue out at her, “Yeah? Is your other wife cuter than me?” Meri did not actually expect Magikrios to answer this and instead slinks right by him so that she can investigate his home. The size of the cabin was of little interest to Meri. Her flat in Cenril is not exactly the most extravagant. No, Meri was nosing around at any of the knick-knacks and decor that might remain in the cabin. She might also open a few of the cupboards in the kitchen out of curiosity of what Magikrios might have to eat in the place. While Meri might be married to the owner of the home, the blonde has -some- boundaries when it comes to this investigation. Namely the bedrooms. She does not want to just waltz into his parents’ old room, making him feel some type of way. Then again, maybe he has redecorated since then. “So, which of the bedrooms is yours?” This is asked before Meri even moves down the hallway, the doors could be open and the answer might be obvious. At some point Meri is bound to settle onto the couch, in front of that fire that Magirkios just lit. Poking around the place also gives the woman a chance to stretch her own legs, get the feeling back in her rump. Even horse lovers enjoy a break.

Magikrios returns the rump pinch as Meri slips by him in the doorway, "There's no one cuter than you.." After closing the door behind him, Magik almost follows Meri around the house as she checks it out. The decor is simple and almost non-existent, given there's rarely a moment to stay inside while in Sylo Alari. There's always some type of work to be done, helping hand to give, hunting to be had, etc. The cabinets are just as bare, unfortunately, save for a few jars of preserved fruits, various types of jerky and a couple bottles of wine stashed amoungst them. Magik grabs a small jar of elk jerky, picks a piece out for himself, and tosses the jar to Meri where ever she may be at the time, but with a quick warning consisting of, "Heads up!" Magik snaps the piece in half in his mouth and slips down the hallway towards his old bedroom. He doesn't pay any mind to the room across from it. He knows what's in there and what he's looking for won't be in there, at least it shouldn't be in there. The door creaks loudly as it's slowly pushed open while answering Meri's question, "This one's mine.."

The bedroom is just big enough to fit a fully grown Lyastri in it comfortably. The bed could sleep two people if they don't mind sleeping super close to each other. The window opposite the bed shows off the small backyard that consists of an impressive garden, a small tool shed, and small stone memorial for Mag's step-mother. However, Magik pays no attention to the window, closet, or the head of a trophy deer hanging on a wall. No. He's on his hands and knees looking for something under the bed. There's a little bit of commotion from under the bed as the Lyastri starts scooting things around down there.

Heads up? It seems like that warning is not going to be heeded, Meri doesn’t even look Magik’s direction to see what he has tossed her way. If Meri were not a psion, the jar would have probably collided right into her body and that crashed into the floor. But! Meri is a psion and so a very not fancy trick is used to redirect the course of the jar so that it is set on the counter with a gentle clink. “Well clearly you are not out here cooking extravagant meals without me,” Meri teases over the state of the cupboards. Meri could make do, though, it would be like camping. What sort of Rangers would they be if they could not drum up a basic meal. The blonde is following after Magikrios. The elf being down on his knees and beneath his bed strikes Meri as a prime opportunity. To do what?! More butt stuff? Naw, that one is too obvious. The blonde flops down on the bed while Magikrios is looking beneath it and gives it a few test ‘bounces’. So helpful. Anyway, it’s just a couple of bounces. Enough to be annoying and probably warrant an eyeroll, hopefully not enough that it’s completely obnoxious. When Meri stops, it’s to lean over the side of the bed so that she can also peer under. “It’s okay, you don’t have to try and hide all the lewd drawings you looked at when you were a teenager. I swear I won’t freak out.”

By the time Meri had started bouncing on the bed, no squeaks by the way, weird, Magikrios was almost laid completely flat out against the bedroom floor as he continued stretching to find something. There was probably a smirk and eyeroll from the Lyastri in reaction to Meri's comment and her bouncing on the bed. There's still a bunch of commotion as a few things are scooted. No pervy drawings here, Meri. Right before Meri peeks over the edge, the commotion stops. Magik looks over his shoulder while still under the bed and holds the handle of a black dagger towards the blonde's face. "Found them." Found what? Magik doesn't hand over the blade just yet. No. He waits until he crawls out from under the bed. Before he plops down next to his smoking hot wife, he kisses her cheek then finally sits. He places a fancy obsidian dagger on her lap, or back, if she's still looking under the bed. "I wanted you to have one of these.." The other dagger is then balanced on a couple of Magik's fingers. Perfectly balanced, mind you. There's a slight flick of his finger and the dagger smoothly rotates in place. "I was waiting for the perfect excuse to come get these and, well, here we are.."

Meri could not see the dagger fully from her current position. She could understand that it was a dagger and saw the general shape but it was dark underneath the bed and so the blonde was not able to make out the finer details. As Magik begins to crawl out from beneath the bed, Meri also works on correcting her own positioning so that she is sitting on the bed rather than peeking over the edge. The dagger is plopped into her lap but it does not remain there for long for Meri is picking it up to inspect it in much the same way that Magik is. There is a grin held on her lips as she makes this inspection, “Yeah…? Waiting for the perfect moment? That makes me feel like you have had these daggers for a while now. What is the story behind them?” Before Magikrios has a chance to answer Meri, the dagger is balanced upon her knee. The blonde promptly plants a smooch to Magikrios’ own cheek, “And since when do I care about perfection?” Meri teases but then shushes so that Magikrios actually has a chance to answer her.

Magikrios takes his blade and gives it a few twists and turns while gripping the handle, "Oh, you know, just..I was waiting for the perfect partner to share these with.." Never stop flirting/dating your significant other, folks. Magik winks at his super hot wife and wiggles his eyebrows. Magikrios then takes a breath in and starts rambling about the blade after Mrs.Lyastri D'Chath asks about the story behind it. "My uncle and I crafted these the following weeks after 'The Night'.." The night his father killed his step-mother which lead to Magik killing his father. That night. "I had to keep my mind busy.." The elf then carefully takes the obsidian blade in his hand to admire the darkwood handle, "After I found out Atropos was my birth mother, we ended up sending them out to her home land for a few adjustments, balancing, that whole shpeel. They ended up back here when Khasad decided to show his face on the continent. I thought they'd be safer here incase anything happened to me." Magikrios leans against Meri as he continues on, "And it does this neat little trick where it'll burn anyone without my bloodline or married into it.." Just as Magikrios' bow would do. Can never be too safe. He finally returns Meri's kiss with one of his own to her cheek. He then kicks his boots off, slides his blade into one of them and lays straight back on the bed. He looks up at the ceiling then closes his eyes, "You think the horses will be alright for a few minutes?" Magikrios is the sleepy.

A question bubbled in the back of Meri’s mind as she listened to Magikrios’ story, but for a change she did not ask it. It was probably because Magikrios was kicking his shoes off and stretching out on the small bed in his old room. “The horses will be fine. I’m not ready to go to bed anyway.” That did not mean that Meri was not happy to let Magikrios enjoy one. The blonde leans over and plants a quick kiss to Magikrios’ cheek. “Enjoy your nap. I am going to stretch my legs a bit.” Maybe find some poor critter to shoot with her bow, given the current state of the cupboards. Or maybe she would come home empty handed. Either way, Magikrios would get his nap and Meri would get her walk.
