RP:A Curious Meeting

Kelay Tavern

Kamalia slips into the tavern, everything about her shrouded out by baggy black robes and a hood. Quietly, her bare feet would bring her to the board where hidden strawberry hued eyes would look over the notes, in silence. The woman keeping her space from others, nervously.

Kamalia glances about herself, then pulls her hood further over her face, shadowing even more of it out. Quickly she'd move to try and leave to head back to Vailkrin, her gloved hands fiddling with the crimson hemming of her black robes.

Tcverntus appears quite unassuming as he traverses the narrow doorway into the tavern. Out of his element, the vampire is flooded with the culture of the living, and the disgusting odors that go along with their feeding habits. Tcverntus's robes just barely sweep the floor as he goes, the tall, gaunt figure making his way towards the bar, and as far away from a table filled with gluttonous dwarves as possible, and cannot help but grimace at their finger licking, and open mouths which chomp down upon greasy chicken.

Kamalia nervously dodges the gaunt vampire, and quickly slips away to head back to Vailkrin's forest, which the lycan calls home.

Hanging Corpse Tavern

Kamalia slips into the Hanging Corpse, and moves shyly to a bar worker, to ask for a glass of water. Handing them a few copper pieces. Once the water is given to her, the shrouded lycan moves to a lonesome table, to drink her simple water at. Her strawberry-red eyes glancing about from under her hood.

Tcverntus has not only come across the shrouded lycan again by seemingly sheer coincidence, but has also managed to miraculously outpace her, given that she left Kelay a considerable amount of time before the vampire did. The entropic druid doesn't turn his head to gaze at her, but instead watches her with his peripheral vision, eyes turning sharply to the left.

Kamalia sips her drink with shaky hands, the female clearly not used to being around people. She had been slower, for she was halfway through the forest when she had gotten thirsty. Being that she lives farther into the woods, there really is no good source of water in there. The lycan's nose would twitch, however, as she caught a scent of someone familiar. None too sneakily, she'd glance about the tavern, only to nervously see the gaunt vampire that she slipped past, back in Kelay. With a gulp, she'd go back to drinking her water, red eyes constantly sliding back that way accidently.

Tcverntus slowly turns his head at last, caution rising into mind when he confirms her identity as the same lycanthrope that he briefly encountered before, and becomes wary of being followed. His own crimson gaze remains none too subtly locked on Kamalia, making it known that he isn't trying to hide from anyone, "Did you follow me?" His raspy address pulls no punches, and is icily, coldly to the point.

Kamalia freezes, swallowing hard as she feels the vampire's eyes upon her form. Her large eyes widening, under her hood. Without looking at him, she quickly shakes her head. "N-no, sir. I apologize, if it seems so." Kama seeming to have issues with eye contact. A twitch under her hood is made, due to her having wolf ears.

Tcverntus is quite observant, "What is that beneath your hood? Do you harbor rats?" He grins at his own insulting question, "You are alive and yet you wander among the dead. Most interesting all thing considered. Are you here for business? Sight seeing? A death wish?"

Kamalia shakes her head "I don't have rats beneath my hood." She'd say, simply. Carefully, she sets the glass down, lest she drop it from the shaking of her gloved hands. Kama wouldn't seem fazed by the insulting question, though. "I know of living beings who come here frequently.. But, no, I am not here for business or such.. I just.. Well.. I live here." Kama would blink, and shake her head "Well, not here as in the tavern, of course.. But I live here, in Vailkrin." A quick glance is made at Tcverntus. "I believe you reside here as well, if I am guessing correctly.." The female would not take down her hood, as she spoke, but would add in. "I am Kama'Lia, by the way.. Kama'Lia Adrastea.." in hopes of being polite.

Tcverntus shrugs, "I do. This forest is what created me in a sense, made me who I am now, and it is where I am strongest. I am Tcverntus Mangler, and I strangely have never seen you before. I have remained in that forest for the past four hundred years and have watched this land change. There was once a werewolf pack that called the forest home. I remained undetected and left them to their own devices. Now they are gone and I am still here. I have never meddled in the affairs of undead or living because it has never been my concern. My concern is Vailkrin's forest. However I have recently begun to take an interest in the houses of this land. I am indeed a true citizen of Vailkrin now instead of a forest watcher alone."

Kamalia would fiddle with her sleeve's red hemming, looking downward at the table. "Well I um.. Have been living in the clearing known as the 'Creature's Lair'.. I'm not afraid of the large spiders and beasts there.. But, I don't really leave very often and I'm good at keeping out of the way. I have never seen you in the forest either. It is um.. Nice to meet you Mister Tcverntus. I hope you do not mind me living in the forest..." The lycan's tail twitches beneath her robe as she does better to look back towards the male she's speaking with. "I actually used to live in Southern Sage..."

Tcverntus seems indifferent, "It seems you have lasted some time there. You may be of use in guarding the forest while I am away. I do not own the forest but it would be a shame if the drow decided to come up and.. harm it. They do not respect any tract of forest as they call the caverns their home. I remember when they marched an army to the surface to attack the Sage elves.."

Kamalia nods "Their taking over Sage is why I live here, in Vailkrin, now. I hope they do not take over the Vailkrin forest.. I rather like it." Kama would say softly, her accent being a little thicker in that sentence. Sounding somewhat like a russian accent, though more delicate.

Tcverntus nods slowly, "They have no use for it since they own much of the Underdark. I believe that their invasion of Sage was more out of spite for the elves than any real desire to stay there. In the end only they would know."

Kamalia bites her lower lip and mutters "Well that's not very fair to my race... I didn't know we did anything wrong." suddenly, her cheeks would flash red as she realized she just said that outloud. She, normally, didn't speak to herself. "I do miss Sage, but I am growing rather accustomed to Vailkrin.. I don't believe I want to live elsewhere.. Well, except I'd like to go to Frostmaw at some point in my life... Um. May I ask what you do?"

Tcverntus shrugs at the question, "When you have eternity at your disposal, being asked what you.. 'do' is rather complicated. I see time in a different way than mortals. I see time in spans of decades, and centuries, rather than weeks, and months. I may watch an entire generation die before I decide whether to explore a new town, or stay at home. But make no mistake, I hold no authority, or influence in the affairs of the undead. I am no elder and despite my age, there are younger individuals that have managed to ascend to heights of power normally reserved for those who age in thousands of years. My powers are unique to my kind, which is why I have managed to live so long without ascending the cultural ladder, as I am a druid. I can shapeshift, command dead, or corrupted earth, and plants. But I am not a necromancer. I do not command corpses of the dead. But I can appreciate their art given that I command dead trees at times." He grins slowly.

Kamalia listens in intrigue to the vampire "I haven't lived very long, compared to others of my bloodline. As I am only a child in comparison to others in my race.. So I don't know of what it's like to live so long. I apologize that I didn't think through my question." she thinks about his druidic abilities, amazed by how much a difference there is by simply being on the fragile line between death and life, as vampires remain. "I too am a druid, actually.. I learned most of my magical abilities from my parents, as I was their apprentice of sorts.. But I am not the best with magic. I can summon plants, and I can control them somewhat.. Mostly for defense, mind you. And I can hear the voices of the plants, though they do not actually speak. I can shapeshift too, but that is not from being a druid.. Other than that, I usually dabble in apothecary and medicinal things.. I wouldn't mind being able to be as brilliant of a healer as my parents were, you see." A blush would once more appear. "I hope I did not just bore you with my prattling."

Tcverntus doesn't seem to mind, "Yes I can smell your lupine nature now that I think about it. There are not many of your kind left here that I can tell. There are shifters of other sorts that roam the lands, representing several different beasts, some more than others. I do not envy them as I can take more than a mere single form. I can take the form of many different creatures when the situation calls for it. I can even take the form of an animated tree, which is a most powerful form, however the strongest of vampires still have an advantage. There is a form that I cannot take and that is form of the revenant. A bat-like monster of uncanny strength. They are the pride of my species."

Kamalia blinks as the vampire caught her scent, she had forgotten about that part of herself. Slowly, she removes the hood from herself. the female being a ghostly pale, yet having a simple beauty to herself. Her strawberry colored eyes being large, yet wolf-like in shape. She'd also having thick black hair, that would appear to be long and disheveled, but braided. It would also seem to be so long, that she had the rest of it stored under her robes to keep out of the way. Splitting her hair, on the top of her head, sat her black wolf ears. Hiding that her true race is elven. "I have never known what a revenant can do, it does sound very strong and terrifying. I do not think even an lycan of a far older age than myself could beat one." the lycaness not going into depth about what she meant about an old lycan. She didn't know if he knew how the disease progresses in lycans, or not. "I have heard of druids becomming animated trees, though it's nothing I can do. Sadly, lycans don't have a great magical prowess, no matter what race... I find it very impressive that you can shapeshift, it does come in use to change from a humanoid form now and then."

Tcverntus chuckles darkly, "I am not the only vampire that can shapeshift but unless there are other vampires who have made pacts with entropic nature, I doubt that any of the others can shapeshift to the extent that I can, given that most vampires traverse other paths of mysticism. There are some vampires who are of a more.. vulpine nature. Fox kin of a sort who retained their ability to take their fox shape after being sired. It is the same with certain felines. However as a druid who has specialized as I have, I can take fearsome shapes, some designed more for spreading fear, and others are designed to kill. Sometimes psychological warfare is preferred over physical."

Kamalia nods as she listens "I actually have never thought of a vampire to be a druid, though. Despite our differences I am still happy to know you chose nature.. Even though you can command dead things. Either way, life and death is all part of the balance, so it makes sense.. I have much to learn about the vampire race, however. I am afraid I know very little about your race.. I, however, made a pact of sorts with the Hind. I suppose you can call it that, at least. I am a rather normal and plain druid, I suppose. I take vows of healing, and helping others."

Tcverntus nods again, "Only entropy heard my call after my embrace. The forces of life are deaf to my voice as it should be. The dead no longer have use for life as theirs is past. I have a much different outlook on nature than most I suppose. One might say that I embody entropy in ways that a necromancer cannot because they manipulate that which has not chosen to aid them." Kamalia actually gains a small smile "Indeed, that seems to be true. I was taught to always ask of nature, its spirits, and the earth and plants before doing anything with them, including picking them. I suppose it is part of how we druids are meant to be, no matter what our abilities are." Kama once again takes up her glass and sips the clear liquid. Tcverntus stands now, his arms hanging stiffly at his side, while the vampire walks towards the exit, "I have decided to wander about outside of Vailkrin for a time. Current events have become interesting and I would like to watch."

Kamalia nods, but stays where she is. "Very well then, stay safe, sir." the female finishing her drink.
