Description:

This odious blade, part of a set, is essentially the product of mimicry gone horribly wrong. What was once an innocent, non-sentient mimic sword has been twisted into something corrupted and far more vicious than originally expected. Due to being forced to contain large amounts of unpleasant emotion, and after absorbing a northern ghost or two, Heresy is certainly not the friendliest of semi-sentient weapons and constantly emits a mournful, malignant aura. Its force of will grows daily as it consumes more emotion and it does not always wish to heed its master's orders, occasionally making it difficult to actually use effectively.

Dormant: In this state, Heresy is simply a large, rune-carved yet relatively unassuming ruby of the finest quality, hand picked to be utilised as a mimic blade. Perhaps the only thing to give away that it is more than it seems is the decidedly unpleasant aura constantly drifting from and surrounding the precious jewel, and the unearthly wails or whispers it utters every once in a while. The gemstone is enchanted via those golden runes upon its surface to be unnaturally strong; thus the ruby is able to serve as well as a true steel sword would in combat.

Manifest: When summoned upon, Heresy tends to simply blink into existence, appearing as a brief scarlet glimmer in the air that swiftly assumes its full form of a vitrified ruby broadsword, as though it draws itself out from an entirely different plane of existence. This is, obviously, not the case, but the blade seems to be a bit fond of theatrics. Unlike most swords, Heresy seems to intentionally shatter sometimes, breaking into a group of jagged shards which all remain as sentient as the original Heresy itself, thus serving as multiple, vicious weapons that can coalesce back into a single shape whenever they desire. It is capable of shifting into countless forms, due to its very nature of being a malleable substance to Kirien, but the blade appears to prefer its initial broadsword shape.

History:

Heresy was intended to be simple copy of Kasyr's ouroboros blade Gospel, created on a whim by Kirien. Obviously, it went terribly wrong.

(as an ooc note, Heresy is not an ouroboros blade, or a blade of virtue. those are Kasyr's babies. Heresy is just a mimic lacking the destructive power of those virtuous or odious weapons, though of course it's still quite dangerous.)
