Fight:Aarika Vs Toth

From HollowWiki

Synopsis: Aarika and Toth have a spar. The Matron is pleased with his performance and accepts him into the collective.

Toth continues to wander what seems to be aimlessly, marking each foot step over and over until he finds himself familiar with ever inch outside of the main compound. His hands running over everything that they can find, making them all known to him..smirking as his fingers find every crook and cranny of it all. Face turning towards the sky he sighs, every now and then he wishes he could see the stars, sun, moon, views..anything, but for now he'll do what needs to be done. He makes his way back over to the shooting range, gripping his bow firmly in his left hand and drawing an arrow from his quiver with the other, speaking in an ancient elven language the arrow starts to glow a feint color before he releases it and allows it to fly to meet it's target..soon as the arrow was released his hand had already reached back into the quiver drawn and notched another before sending it chasing the first.

Aarika had quietly watched Toth as he explored the barracks with a smile, she was pleased to see him adjusting to his new surroundings. Her body leaned against the frame of the main hall while she observed the training yard, the elf's movement back towards the archery range beckoned her in his direction. Along the way she collected a short handled axe, also a round shield, painted half blue and half white. The matriarch would be back in her battle gear today, the ruby dress and cloak left behind though she was always true to her boots. She wore a strong leather body suit with an intricate breast plate and her skirt was made of the same sturdy leather that fell in strips to her mid thigh; not that Toth would be able to see. "Head's up!" She called playfully as her left foot stepped forward and her right arm swung back, with a fluid motion she threw the hatchet right for the Collective's newest archer. It was time to test his skill.

Toth perked his ears as he heard footsteps fall, turning his head towards the sound..listening he as he feet took more of a battle motion he heard the feint sound of something with a bit of weight leave a hand. His body turns so that he faces the hatchet, taking a side step as he reaches back and draws two arrows and notching them both. His eyes open and if one were to look close enough see a light blue aura surround them as his words continued to flow, one off the arrows likewise taking a blue tint before they were released. The plain arrow heading for the hatchet, the blue one heading in the direction of the thrower..if this arrow would find skin then a slight sleeping spell would make Aarika drowsy at worst in it's current state.

Aarika grinned in response to his reflexes and dropped to a knee hiding her slender frame behind the large round shield. The glowing arrow thudded and cracked through the wooden shield protruding out the other side, with splinters, just barely missing her cheek. Her oceanic eyes widened and she released a snort, "You missed!" She called out from behind her shelter before she moved towards the weapon rack with a side roll the noise of such action would surely give away her location. Her eyes stayed glued to the ranger and his movements while a small clatter would signal she had obtained another weapon. With a kick of her leg the matriarch sent a stone flying to the right of the elf, she hope the sound would camouflage her location and aid in some misdirection as she wound up again pitching yet another axe after Toth. A short sword was claimed next and her feet set in motion carrying the blonde close to the ranger in a serpentine path. She would't go easy on him, for that would benefit no one and his lack of sight wouldn't change any intensity of a opponent in battle.

Toth listened to the commotion she had made, playing this game before he reaches around and grabs another arrow and jabs it into the ground before side stepping and taking a run while notching himself yet another arrow. His words taking another course as the one on the ground starts to vibrate and a hint of red takes it over before it makes a loud explosion..no real force behind it, more of his own diversion really, the notched arrow starts to turn green as he whizzes it towards Aarika. Reaching into his jacket and pulling out a pouch, drawing out a small herb he tosses it into his mouth before shoving the pouch back, reaching back he pulls another arrow and spits the root onto the tip of it before notching it and letting in fly..the black much on the arrow seeping into it as the arrow turns a violet color..causing temporary paralyses if contact is made. The rock the woman had thrown swiping across the top of his head as he ducks himself towards the ground.

Aarika laughed out in amusement as the ticking time bomb erupted, sure the bang caught her attention, but not for long. He tipped the head of his arrow leaving her to wonder the effect of such actions if it stuck true. With adrenaline coursing through her veins she trusted her shield upwards for another arrow to bite through her mobile wall, a close call. A forceful 360 rotation of her entire body had her frisbee the round chunk of wood right for Toth's frame hoping to knock the man off his feet. Aarika gritted her teeth and pushed on, quicker now with the sudden weight loss from the shield. If he wasn't careful she would be in striking zone where two hands would draw the sword over her head threatening to slice the man in two from head to groin, that is -if- it wasn't a sparring sword.

Toth pulled four arrows from the quiver as it fell to the ground, a single arrow left in it..giving one of the arrows a toss his words start to fly faster, the thrown arrow starting to take flight by itself..this color being of a gentle brown and ducking behind the woman before making a u turn and started to fly towards her back. The other three arrows being notched and flying in generally the same direction but all aiming for different sides of Aarika, the shield flying towards him and connecting with his shin as he made a feeble attempt to jump it. Falling to the ground he picks the shield up and ducks behind it before reaching down into his shoe, pulling out a dagger wrapped in some sort of herb that is dripping wet..waiting for her to make contact with the shield he does his best to back away.

Aarika was forced to abort her initial attack, instead of the vertical sweep of her blade she warped her aim in diagonal motion, two of the three arrows were dismembered and a front roll had her miss the last before her. However the little heat seeker on her heels followed in turn, as her somersault propelled her into her own shield the arrow pierced her arm and sunk into the battered wood. A battle growl pulled from the depths of the blonde matriarch and another spin of her blade snapped the arrow in two freeing her from the compromising position though the bolt remain through the flesh, blood slowly trickled down her arm to collect along the rim of her bracer. With another boisterous laugh she ceased her attacks, "Sneak!" She was pleased rising to her feet while her hands dusted down her frame, "Nice shot. I'll give you an hand." She announced her actions for he wouldn't simply see the offered hand. When they both were back on their feet she'd flex her arm into a certain position to slide the post through her arm with a soft hiss, "Let us grab an ale."

Toth took her hand up, once standing he leaned heavier on the leg that wasn't hit by the shield before squatting down and stowing his dagger back into his shoe. His face moving towards the sound of her voice as a small grin swells over his face, "Not to bad yourself." He wiped down the front of his body and hoping along beside her as they move along towards the hall and away from the battlefield, picking up the bow he had dropped as his feet find it before his hands, "We should do that again sometime, I could learn a thing or two in hand to hand..I'm not that good in that aspect." The quiver would have to wait for him to return for it, but for now he would leave it be seeing as it was empty. His eyes having gone back to their blank stare as his ears continue to perk, listening for anything new as the two continue to converse along their way.
