Hollow Command List Instructions Type the selected command from the left hand column on this page in the textbox in the bottom frame in Hollow in order to perform the command.

Communication

Command Performs this Action Example Command As Displayed on Your Screen/Others' Screens
say message Public speech directed to everyone in the room you are currently occupying. say Hello. You said, "Hello."

John said, "Hello."

say to character message Public speech directed to one person in the room you are currently occupying. say to Jane Hello. You said to Jane, "Hello."

John said to Jane, "Hello."

shout message Public speech directed at everyone in a two-room radius from your current position. shout Hello. You shouted, "Hello."

John shouted, "Hello."

tell to character message Private speech directed to another player anywhere in Hollow that no one else can see. tell to Jane Hello. You told Jane, "Hello."

John told you, "Hello."

whisper to character message Private speech directed to another player in the same room as your character. whisper to Jane Hello. You whispered to Jane, "Hello."

John whispered to you, "Hello."

clan message Private speech directed to all members in your clan that are presently in Hollow. clan Hello. You told your clan, "Hello."

John told your clan, "Hello."

ooc message Public speech directed to everyone logged into Hollow for an out of character message. ooc Hello. You said OOC, "Hello."

John said OOC, "Hello."

/ action Displays an action that your character performs, visible to all in the same room. Note: Write your actions in third-person, the way you want others to see it. / waves to everyone. You waves to everyone.

Action Commands

Command Performs this Action Example Command
eat item Character eats an item in your inventory to restore hunger. eat biscuit
drink item Character drinks an item in your inventory to restore thirst. drink wine
use item Character uses an item in your inventory for various effects depending on the item. use sage mixture
sell amount item Sells an item from your inventory. Note: Must be located at a shop that will buy the item from you to perform this action. sell 1 rusty dagger
buy amount item Buys an item from a store's stock. buy 1 rusty dagger
read object Reads a list, sign, board, note, etc. located in the room with you. read note
search object Searches an object named in the room description, which may result in the discovery of an item. search skull
rest Begins resting to restore HP, Stamina and Magic points at a rate of 3 points per minute. Note: You cannot move while resting.
getup Get your character up after resting. Restored points are then added to your stats.
duel player Enters a player versus player duel with another Hollow player. duel Jane
fight monster Enters a player versus monster duel with a Hollow monster. fight mountain lion
weather Displays the current weather in your area.
time Displays the current time in Hollow.
date Displays the current date in Hollow.

Special Commands

Command Performs this Action Example Command
change email Changes the e-mail currently registered for your characer.
change password Changes the password currently registerd to your character.
config Allows you to configure background, font and link colors as well as images for your players screen.
ignore Allows you to no longer see text imputed by another player for harassment purposes ignore Jason
ignore list List Lists the current players that you have used the “ignore” command on.
unignore Removes a player from your ignore list, enabling you to see their text again unignore Jason
i or inventory Brings up a list of your current inventory.
stats Brings up a list of your current player statistics.
clear Clears all of the text currently on your screen.
quit or logoff Logs you out of Hollow.
who Brings up a list of users currently logged into Hollow.
drop Drop an item(s) from your inventory drop 2 rusty dagger
get # item Picks up an item and places it in your inventory get 1 rusty dagger
give player # item Gives another player an item from your inventory give Jason 1 rusty dagger

Pets

Command Performs this Action Example Command
leash pet Leashes your pet. Appears in your stats and to other players that are in the same room. leash dog
name pet theName Names your pet after you have leashed it. name pet Rocky

Clan Commands

Command Performs this Action Example Command
add character Adds a character to your clan. Note: Must be clan leader to use this command. add John
remove character Removes a character from your clan. Note: Must be clan leader to use this command. remove John
clan message Private speech directed to all members in your clan that are presently in Hollow. clan Hello.
clan list Displays a list of clan members (Only leaders see this.) and a link to mail all members of the clan. (All members see this.)
leave clan Removes you from the clan you are in.

Equipping/Wearing Clothing and Armor

Command Performs this Action Example Command
wear item Places a piece of clothing, armor, or weapon on your body in an appropriate position. wear ragged shirt
takeoff item Removes a piece of clothing, armor, or weapon that has previously been equipped. takeoff ragged shirt

Reading & Writing Messages

Command Performs this Action Example Command
read object Reads a list, board, sign, note, etc. that is in a room/store. Lists contain the items that may be bought at the current store. read list
public message Places a message on a public board. public Hello.
readmail Opens Hollow's version of e-mail called HollowMail (or, more generally, HMail.) This allows you to read messages that have been sent to you, or send messages to players that are either online of offline.
compose Shortcut command to send an HMail.

Class Skill Commands

Command Performs this Action Example Command
cast healing hands on character Allows a priest or paladin to cast curing spell on another player. cast healing hands on John
cast cure on character Allows a ranger or druid to cast curing spell on self or others. cast cure on John
cast song of health on character Allows a bard to cast curing spell on self or others. Does not apply in mob battles. cast song of health on John
mine If equipped with a pick axe, character may mine in various places for valuable minerals.
fish If equipped with a fishing pole, character may fish in various places.
recall Character is instantly telported back to Kelay Tavern. Cost of performing recall: 1/2 stamina.

Miscellaneous Commands

Command Performs this Action Example Command
learn skill Allows you to learn a skill in a skill area. learn mine
change money Allows you to exchange one type of coin for another at a bank. Note: 1 gold=10 silver=100 copper.
store money Allows you to store coins at a bank.
balance Shows you a current balance of coins stored at a bank.
withdraw Allows a character to withdraw coins stored at a bank.
bug Allows you to report a bug, or request a new feature for Hollow.
help Allows you to send a question to one of the Hollow administration boards.
premiums Allows you spend and transfer credits for premium services.
