Vesper the Evensong - (Weapon)
Creator: Satoshi, and Mastersmith Gikal
Last Known Owner: Kasyr
Description:

Meant as a replacement for Gospel, Satoshi commissioned Frostmaw's mastersmith Gikal to concoct a weapon suitable for her husband. After months, what came of this is masterful blend of avian Titanium, Ghroundium, Frostmaw Black Ice, and elven Mithril; 'dragonsteel', as it's been dubbed. Highly durable and supernaturally keen, its only drawback is its weight, being too heavy for most mortals to wield with ease, and thus best suited to races of superhuman strength such as lycans or vampires. Forged into the form of an exceptionally wide and elaborate broadsword, Vesper's weight is considerable, but as it was created for the revenant Kasyr, it's a minimal worry--especially as the weight makes for further lethality in the kensai's hands. Along with being created for durability and power, Vesper was crafted to be attuned to lightning, its hilt shaped from the horn of a Kirin and its pommel stone a purified chunk of Venturil amber, charged with lightning from the Kirin and thunderstorms alike. Vesper's sheathe is carved from the branch of a Ya-Te-Veo tree--specifically the dryad Pyoshia's, to better contain enchantments and resist natural fire.

History:

Once the blade was crafted, Satoshi took it into Frostmaw's Ruins and spent two months singing over the metal and bathing it in the blood of Ice Devils, imbuing it with the endurance of glaciers as well as weaving a peculiar pair of dark traits into the blade. Firstly, when called upon, Kasyr can use the captured lightning within the sword to absorb the natural light in an area. Like dusk falling, or a heavy storm rolling in, the zone around the kensai will dim and darken, shadows will lengthen, and visibility will be compromised. Although the darkness is not nearly as absolute as the inherent Drow orb ability, Satoshi felt being able to alter the brightness of the combat field might prove useful to the revenant, resourceful as he is with shadows. It has limited to no effect on illumination created by arcane or divine means, however. Secondly, due to the unusual keenness of the dragonsteel coupled with the spirit-devouring nature of Ice Devils, Vesper's bite is able to cleave through even the intangible as if they were solid. The drawback being that, the more the blade feeds on such essences, the heavier it grows until it falls dormant, time being necessary to process what it's absorbed before it can be drawn and used again.

Additional Information:

Currently, the weapon is serving as an impromptu seal for the entity, Xicotl - though, the sheer scale of the Primordials Spiritual form has caused the weapons weight to grow to unfathomable portions. To such an extent that even now, it remains moored at the depths of a crater, subtly sinking deeper into the stony debris with each passing day.
