Female Drow rush to the ladder with weapons drawn, hoping it to be only a traveler or even a friend but knowing full well the extent of the Scourge grip and taking no chances. Their expressions are mundane if an unrecognized person happens before them or with the slightest hint of happiness if instead an ally has come and either way, they guide the individual through countless tents of darker shades and past more than a handful of Drow from both genders who watch pass them by one quite possibly not of their race with a look of unrivaled sorrow plastered upon jaded faces. With time and after overcoming such obstacles as weapons and supplies sprawled all across the muddy landscape and many an uncut tree in this forestry refuge blocking access, the largest of huts is come upon and entrance into here requires four Drow guards to step back and heed acceptance of allowance. Here and within these walls stands erect perhaps the most important of the quite small number of free Drow still alive; his name is Anareldre. Having come from a more politically active family he surpassed the limitations of his second-class variety and with the matron mother presumed dead and virtually every person of religious significance belonging to this dying race slaughtered during the massacre which saw the replacement of Trist'oth with a headquarters for Hellspawn and the Underdark transformed into a greater nightmare, Anareldre is a beacon of hope for this small resistance movement to one day return the Drow to a position of power rather than see them become extinct in the truest of senses. At present he seems quite against formalized alliances which would reveal his presence and the presence of his people and so he only strikes deals with mercenary groups, perhaps explaining the recent outbreak of hit-and-fade operations near Vailkrin. Those of the well-known rebellion are mostly unwelcome here and are sent off at once. This place, this land, this hidden intent may be cold toward others but nevertheless indicates all is not lost, even when the Immortal Army claims that soon to arrive is the Time of Reckoning. Rising from the ashes here, these people are now in pure jubilation as the Empire has freed both them and their brethren in Trist'oth.
