WEIGHT: 130lbs
HAIR COLOUR: Snowy white
EYE COLOUR: Light grey
SKIN COLOUR: Alabaster

Wren is sturdily built in a feminine way, with curves in all the right places. Her snowy white hair, when loose, reaches the small of her back. However, it is more often than not worn up in intricate styles. Her wings are the same colour as her hair, with pale pink overtones. Though not many have or will ever see them as she chooses to conceal them with leather straps that are secured around her torso and covered with billowing robes. Because of this she is often mistaken as a human. Her face is very angular, with large eyes that make her seem younger and more vunerable.

HISTORY

Beginnings

Wren was born in Armantium to father Koel Zippora, an retired avian soldier who trained the new recruits to the army, and mother Linnet Zippora a renowned healer for the empire. Her parents were very attentive towards her, teaching her many skills, including basic combat and healing. Because her father was away for many months of the year, her mother focused all her energy and attention on Wren when she was not working, because of this Wren was introduced to music, and took an immediate liking to it, and so for her 7th birthday she was given a rusted old flute that had first been her Grandmother's and then was given to her mother. Soon, wren's mother spent all of her spare time teaching wren music and some basic magics. Wren was exceptionally gifted, so her mother decided to send her to a teacher that specialised in bardic magic. She began studying the magic of the bards, her music taking on the role of wand or staff. By age ten, her music teacher discovered that Wren had a particular gift at influencing the wind with her song, and encouraged her to focus on this.

Grief and Music

Wren continued with her music, learning to use her use her emotions to influence her music and in turn the way it influenced the air. She could create soothing swirls of air that sent dust and debris dancing, she could make the air pound like footsteps against the ground adding a drum like beat to her songs. If her mood was low or angry her music would take on a strong throbbing beat that sent the air up in flurries of energy, or if she was feeling happy or calm her music would make the air caress her or others around her, she learnt many pretty tricks. But she wanted more. She had spent her entire life in the confines of Krizar. She dreamed of exploring the rest of hollow, hoping to learn new ways to use her music. But she felt guilty about leaving her mother and father behind. After all, they had put some much love and energy into her upbringing and were continuing to support her through all her lessons and recitals. It would be like throwing it all back in their faces. So she stayed in Krizar, and continued to live with her parents. But one day a messenger was sent to collect her early from her music lesson. This had never occured before, so she was very worried. She was told to go straight to her home. When she arrived she found the crumpled sight of her mother sobbing on the hard ground. Wren felt tears spring to her eyes as she could guess why her mother was in such a state, her father must've died. But how? A few hours later when Wren had finally calmed her mother enough for her to be able to speak, she learned that her father had been sent on an errand to Vailkrin for the general, and he was attacked by a vampire. She was told that her father had fought for his life valiantly, but had sadly lost the battle. Wren was devastated, for weeks she didn't leave her home or her mother's side. She couldn't even bring herself to play her beloved music.

A twist of fate

Years went by and slowly Wren began playing her music, sadly the same couldn't be said for her mother, who had never gone back to her beloved work as a healer. Which made it even harder for Wren to contemplate leaving. However, on the eve of Wren's 25th birthday, she came home from her music lesson to find a note taped to the locked door of her home. Wren cried as she read that her mother had left Hollow, unable to cope with the memories of her father. But she felt very grateful to her mother, in spite of the sadness. Her mother had given her the chance to fulfil her dream of travelling. She knew that her mother had seen the wanderlust in her eyes when she played her music. And although she had never told her mother how she felt, she knew that another reason for her mother’s departure was to relieve Wren of the guilt she would have surely felt if she left. Though still in tears, and with nothing but the clothes on her back and her flute in her hand she left Krizar.

Arrival in Kelay

Wren’s first stop was the famous, yet small city of Kelay. She had heard that the city was mainly inhabited by elves and humans, creatures she had only ever heard and read about. She walked the short distance to the centre of kelay, easily finding the tavern. She settled inside, simply observing the patrons. She didn’t talk to anyone that day. But soon became more confident and approached the patrons that weren’t inebriated. Though she didn’t meet any bards, she met many magical creatures that taught her to use her bardic magic in ways she never thought possible. With the help of adept healers that she met and befriended, she refined her healing song. And learn, albeit cautiously, how to use her music in defence from a shady dark elf that had approached her in the tavern one day. After her lessons with him, he seemed to vanish completely from Kelay. She wasn’t to see him again, which made Wren sometimes think that he had just been a figment of her imagination. although she could use her magic in defence, she didn’t concentrate on this aspect, being the sort of person to avoid conflict at all costs.

Present day

Wren is currently living on Rynvale island, taking time off from her travels and song searching. Since her arrival in Kelay she has made many good friends, and unfortunately lost a good few too. She hasn’t received any word from or about her mother, which saddens her deeply. But she carries on with the memory of her father and the love and teachings of her mother. Although she hasn’t been able to find a bardic teacher to help her further her air influencing, she hopes to continue her search soon. And one day she hopes to return to her home in Armantium, to show her beloved teacher how far she has come and maybe even see her mother again.
