General Appearance: Voranus has long since been bald, and part of swearing off tribal life was denying himself the piercings and tattoos of his tribe. However, despite his lack of tribal tattoos, Voranus has marking carved into his skin, dagger cuts through his hide that he placed there himself for wards and other magical purposes.
Voranus was born in the jungle of Venturil to lowly parents of the Shandalaari tribe, pulled by the tribe’s shaman at an early age due to an expected affinity for magic, therefore Voranus never really knew his parents. Instead of compassion, Voranus was taught shamanism by the tribe’s head Witch Doctor, including the passing beliefs that overtime Voranus decided he never really cared for. Tribe-mind and tribe-life were out of reach for the young troll who could never get over the fact that he was being forced to become what the tribe needed him, he was forced to step out among people and the masses annoyed him. From the jungle of Southern Venturil Voranus ran, his feet carrying him far away from life as a healer to his life of magic, from his life of dealing with people to the swamp of Gualon. Voranus had excelled as a shaman, but his affinity for arcane was beyond that of a healer, beyond that of his tribe, and in the swamp he got to practice what little he could, and create some of his own. Wards became an obsession, crocodiles seemed to multiply in Gualon as Voranus held rituals, summoning and creating familiars to embody the arcane he could feel welling up within him and this was the only release, fleeting magic. Voranus has come to cherish his time alone, he is a disgruntled troll, but a need for more fulfilling magic, a need for blood has driven the hermit out of solitude, currently he is lurking around Vailkrin a feeling of dread overcoming him as he seeks to satisfy his deprave need for cursed magic, something stronger to push him over as the madness of arcana calls to him.
