Physical Description

Human Form

At a lean five foot nine inches Taikoa is not exactly short, but hardly the tallest specimen. His ebon hair is shaggy, and those who pass might think it in need of a trim as it hangs in some places to his shoulders. At sixteen, all he is capable of growing on his face is the slightest hint of what a man might call a beard, and so he tends to keep that at least well groomed and clean shaven. Eyes of an icy blue peer out from behind a rough curtain of bangs, the left brow crowned by a scar that starts at the bridge of his nose and ends just shy of his temple. His skin is darker than most from his homeland, but not quite what you would call tan. His frame is wrapped in lean and wiry muscles.

Wolf Form

Watching you from the shadows you might sense a presence, but the midnight fur that coats this wolf’s body only helps him blend in amid the darkness. If you look closely, you might catch a glimpse of the icy blue eyes that separate him from the inky night around him. He’s not the largest of wolves, but neither is he a pup. A strong young male that could kill quickly if the desire so struck him. A slow, loping stride carries him towards whatever destination he has chosen, large paws moving with surprising silence.

Personality Description

Before he was bitten Taikoa was a typical rambunctious young boy. After he was turned into a lycan, the child began to grow aggressive and easily aggravated. This only grew worse as he shifted into his teenage years, where it was paired with the rebellious attitude typical to that phase of life.

While Taik might not seek out fights, he is quick to take offense. The teen plays tough, but even he knows his limits. Still, he puts on a show rather than tucking tail and running. His favorite parting phrase when backing out of a fight is, “You’re lucky I don’t feel like fighting…” or else some variation there of.

Though he doesn't care to admit it out loud, and would take offense to anyone else saying the same, he struggles with the idea of being a Lycan. Even after six years...he questions whether he can be considered anything but an animal, a beast. His volatile moods frighten him; but he can't bring himself to ask for the help he needs in taming the wolf within. The teen's stubborn pride will simply not allow it!

History

Background (Pre-RP)

Taikoa was born in a land far to the north of the realms of Hollow, where cool breezes teased the tall grasses of the wild plains and rolling, forested hills separated the people from the tundra beyond. The Ulv were a noble family, though among the lower ranking nobles, and he was their fourth son, the fifth child over all with an older sister as well. Out of his five siblings, it was this sister, three years older than himself and the next youngest child, whom he was closest to.

She would tell him stories, and he would drag her out on wild adventures inspired by those tales. Always, though, their parents warned them not to venture too far into the wilds, and by all means to avoid the tundra and the forested hills that stood between them and it. At the age of ten, Taikoa decided that was just the adventure he needed, however.

Try though she might, his sister could not convince him to go someplace less dangerous, and so she bravely followed after him instead. As they approached the start of the sloping hills, she tried again to plead with him, but he pressed onward, telling her to turn back if she was scared. She decided to do just that, turning back home as Taikoa stepped into the shadows of the trees.

Deeper into the forest he ventured, feeling braver by the minute. Then there was the snap of a twig, and he whirled to face a bandit. Immediately he was recognized as a noble’s child, and with a leer the man spoke of kidnapping and ransom. But Taikoa had not come entirely unprepared, he pulled a dagger from a sheath at his side and prepared to defend himself, at which the bandit laughed and pulled a rapier of his own. In one swift movement, the boy was disarmed, and a slice had been placed over his left eye.

The bandit gave a shout to what Taikoa assumed was a companion, but a large dog appeared instead, launching forward and latching it’s jaws onto Tai’s arm viciously, tearing through the skin. Again the bandit shouted at the dog, which suddenly released the child, slinking back a few feet before transforming into a man who grinned evilly at Taikoa even as he murmured apologies to his fellow bandit. Apparently, the bite had not been the intended outcome, and they had only meant to capture him. The boy was too frightened by now to register what the repercussions of being bitten by a transforming man might be.

Just then familiar shouts were heard through the trees, and Taikoa cried out in response, recognizing his father’s worried tones instantly. Realizing they would not be able to whisk away their captive without being caught, the bandits both shifted into large dogs and took off running, sending out a howl, no doubt to gather other hidden members of their party.

Taik’s father arrived on the scene, moments later, and after scolding his son, and being filled in on what had happened, the seriousness of the situation finally set in. The canid forms of the men had not been dogs, but rather wolves, and they were lycans. This bite he had recieved meant he would become one too. After his father had carried him home, he went through a gruelling period of transformation. The painful process of turning from a full human into a lycan took a few days if not more.

Even after his change, his parents and siblings loved him, trying their best to cope with his more feral attitude, which only got worse as he entered his teens. By his sixteenth birthday, however, they could no longer handle him, and had to send him out on his own to work out his aggression for fear that he might lash out too severely. They recommended that he find a mentor, instead he took to traveling, hopping from ship to ship as the crews got tired of his attitude.

Finally he arrived in Hollow, and decided to take a short break from the sea to explore the land.

Upon arriving in Mainland Hollow, Taikoa struggles to make acquaintances despite his harsh and standoffish attitude.

Relationships

What does Taikoa think of your character? If he's met them, then their name and a brief summary of his thoughts about them will be listed in one of the following categories!

Family

Eventually a list of his blood relatives from his homeland will be put here. It will also include any Hollowites that he feels a familial type connection to.

Friends

These are people he trusts enough to call his friends, it may take a while to earn this rank.

Acquaintances

Generally these are people that he's familiar enough to recognize at least by appearance if not name.

Enemies

You've done something to get on his bad side if you're on this list, or perhaps he's gotten on your bad side instead. Either way, the two of you don't get along!

Nearly Strangers

The poor people on this list seem to have not made much of an impression on Taikoa at all. He's met them, but he wouldn't remember it if he saw them again.

Wish List

Explanation: This list is more for my own benefit than anyone else's. It will help me keep track of the things I am working toward getting for Taikoa, and how much they might cost.

Obtained!

  • (Pet) Feral Form - Thanks to Hildegarde for delivering it, but I have a feeling she had it second hand from another player. I now have something to indicate when I'm in wolf form!

RP With Me

  • I'm very RP friendly, and even if I'm not listed as looking, I might be willing!
  • If your character doesn't know something IC, please don't use it in the RP. The information in this profile isn't common knowledge among the people of Hollow, at least not at this point, so bear that in mind.
  • Please keep drama at a minimum, don't mix IC and ooc. And if you have a problem with another player, don't drag me into it. As a general rule, I never put people on ignore, as I feel it interferes with proper RP. Plus, I just want to try and be friends with everyone!
  • I humbly request that you bring your best writing skills to the RP. My posts tend to mimic my partners, shorter posts earn shorter responses, and longer posts earn longer responses. I am not good at huge posts, but I'll try to let my post length stay close to yours! But please at least use proper grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. It makes things so much easier and more enjoyable.
  • I am easy going for the most part, so I'll try to roll with what you give me. Don't abuse this fact, because the more often you do things that I don't appreciate, the less likely I am to RP with you if I can avoid it. What things don't I appreciate? I believe you can figure it out from the above bullets, but just in case please avoid the following: OOC/IC confusion, god modding, drama, using ooc knowledge as IC knowledge, grammatically poor posts.

OOC Contact

If you wish to contact me OOCly, your best bet at this point is hmail and tells. I might give out messenger or something, but I'm not posting it here.
