Description
- Name: Mathias Redbark
- Race: Avian Sky Guard ( An Avian born for the sole purpose of fighting and serving in his races militia )
- Class: Guardian of Nature ( A Ranger that is more aggressive than his counterparts and defends all forms of nature instead of just the forests )
- Age: 28
- Alignment:Good, though he has been known to perform acts of evil for the greater good.
- Pet: Griffin, given the name Alexander for its meaning protector of man. And a job it fills well when his friend rather than master is in danger.
- Clan: None.
- Guild: None, though hopes to take over the Rangers Guild if he can prove himself worthy of such a
task.
- Eyes: Ocean Blue.
- Hair: Dark Raven.
- Skin: Light, though his time in the sun has left him slightly tanned.
- Spouse: None.
Biography
Mathias was born into this world inside a city perched atop a mountain of unmesurable hight, acsess to the fortress like city can only be gained by thoses gifted with flight or to thoses that have sheer determination to make the almost impossiable climb, let alone dodge the rain of arrows from the turrets that encircle the city. Most belive that the place was founded by decendants who fled the acncient city of Krizar as it fell in all it's glory to the earth, but truth of this fact can not be gained by one such as Mathias or his family, as Sky Guards are considered lower class within the confined walls and as such it was deemed that their place with many others was to serve without question. This was a way of life for the Avian and was accepted by him with a pride that was instilled into him from his first breath, and up untill his 20th year of life this fact never changed.
Now as it is known, most Avian's see themselfs as superior to all other races and this fact holds true to Mathias's home city. And herein lies the root of his downfall, the council that governs the people were power hungry and saw all around them as theirs including the other races that populated the lands around the mountain. As such the council gave the other races an ultimatum: Swear fealty and acknowlage their superiorty or perish at the hands of the Avian forces. And true to the other races nature each and everyone of them refused the demands and began to mass their own forces against the city. One by one the other races homes fell under a blanket of death and fire and not a soul was spared, and this is how it went for 3 years, the body count on both sides mounted into the thousands and to Mathias it seemed as if it would never end, until that is he and 4 other captins led a warband into a Human town. Without a second thought the onslaught commenced and all fell, man, woman and child until the Guardian stood alone in the center of town waist high in chared and desicated bodys underneath a blackened sky, a sound behind him made him turn to be confronted by a boy of no more than 15 holding a sword and a river of tears flowing down his face vowing to take him to the depths of hell. The sight of the child who looked almost like the Avian at the same age stired something within his heart, the boy threw a multitude of blows at him yet the Avian did not strike him down as he could have with great ease, instead he did nothing but parry every blow as the child raged at him. This went on for a time and the noise brought what was left of the Avian force to them, and still Mathias refused to kill the boy, but that choice was not his to make as one of the captains came behind the boy and the last thing Mathias could remember was a blade erupting through the childs chest and the look in his eyes of sudden realastion and horror as his soul crossed the gates into the afterlife. According to witnesses Mathias had struck down the other captain with such visiousness that the entire squad lept on him all at once. As reality took hold of him once again he found himself blood stained and ragged in front of the city council bound in chains and asailed by the voices of the city. The council had found him guilty of herrasy of the highest order and he had been branded a traitor, as punishment his family were publicly slain with him forced to watch, but it did not end there. Mathias was dragged to the city gates still bound and was cast over the edge, as he fell the only thought he had was that he had been so wrong and that the city and all that resisded within were pure evil, but now the souls of those that lay on the battle field would finaly have their retrebution, and then there was darkness and a roar of suppresed sound and an icy cold of the likes of which he had never felt. The river at the bottom had consumed him and death had come for him or so he thought, to this day he never knew what had happened under the dark torrents or how it was he came to rest under a tree that he would take as his namesake, perhaps the gods had gifted him a chance to redeam himself or perhaps it was just pure luck, but here on that day Mathias Redbark was truly born and with it came his journey into the forests of Hollow which would keep him alive and teach him all that he could learn.
