Biography
-Childhood-
Kira has only vague memories of her parents, mostly fragmented and distorted flashes of their deaths during the attack by the dragons. She remembers wandering lost for most of a day afterwards, where she was found and adopted by a farmer and his family. In her mid-teens, she showed an innate ability for creating visual illusions, which she used while telling stories to the younger children of her adopted family.
Several years later, a wandering mage learned of her ability, and visited the farmstead to see for herself.Impressed with Kira's talents, she wrote her a letter of recommendation to study with an illusionist the wandering mage knew of. Leaving her adopted family, Kira traveled to the home of the illusionist and studied with him for several decades, learning many techniques she never would have thought of on her own. Then the elderly illusionist passed away, and Kira returned to the farmstead she had grown up on.
Finding it destroyed, she set out to discover who, or what, had attacked the family that had adopted her, all those years ago. After a long search, she tracked the villan to it's lair and went in search of retribution. However, she was not as young and fit as she was as a youth, and the guards managed to capture her. Leading her to their master, an elder vampire, she was interrogated, then thrown into a cell. Several nights later, the vampire stole into the chamber, seeking to feed, but Kira wasn't asleep. Fighting for her life, and fueled by rage, she managed to severly wound the creature, but was bitten during the struggle. Half-dead, and in horrible pain as the transformation began, she trailed after the beast.
Strengthened by the change, she renewed the assault, ultimatly killing the bloodsucker. Then she fled, as it's minions chased her down. Using her newly acquired speed, she managed to elude them, but got herself lost in the process. After several mind-numbing weeks, she adapted to her new condition, and sought to begin anew. A fresh start to her new life as an undead.
