Physiology
Most elves are slightly smaller than the human race; Gwen is slightly smaller than most elves. Standing only an inch above four feet, she makes up for her small size with her agility. Her complexion is very light, reaching a pale status among the other races, though it isn’t as light as that of most elves. Her hair is a shimmering blond and her eyes, shine from her skull in a brilliant blue-green hue. Pointed ears stick out from the pale hued locks of hair. Elves mature at roughly the same rate as humans, though they are not usually considered past adolescence until they reach 110 years of age. Therefore, Gwen, at 14, is barely considered a child among her kind.
Psychology
Elves are much like dryads and pixies in terms of their habits. They value the forest for each plant and animal that lives in harmony with them. Elves live extremely long lives, living life as healthily as they can. They often indulge in the fine arts and more often than not have a wealth of knowledge. Having lived only for a short while, Gwen doesn’t display the patience that older elves tend to have. She definitely has a nurturing and kind soul, however. Her parents are, thus far, a mystery, although the young (and somewhat imaginative) elf claims that they died a long time ago and that the soul of her mother is what grants the staff Baciluna its great power. She first discovered the staffs spell casting power when she and a childhood friend got in an argument. The boy, a human, pushed her in a fit of anger during a game of Dragons and Mages. Sticking the staff forward, Gwen exclaimed, "I wish you would DIE!" and so he did. Crushed by what she did, Gwen fled Rynvale that night at the age of nine. Sadly, the act still haunts her to this day. It wasn't until many years later that she learned of the staff's limitations. Tired of mining for her food all day long, she lifted the staff towards the cavern wall and exclaimed, "Dig!" Indeed, the staff did dig, causing a hole to form in the wall where she pointed. When she tried the same stunt again, nothing happened. After a bit of experimenting, the young girl learned that the staff could only cast a spell once.
