Physical Description
Gheneroc is a rather large dragon, standing roughly 35 feet tall from front foot to the top of his head, the cave dragon presents a rather fierce visage. His body length is approximately 80 feet long from the front of his chest to the tip of his tail. He is a quadroped, but can use his forelegs to grip things. Gheneroc's scales are usually a stoney grey to obsidian black for all his time buried beneath the world. Gheneroc's eyes are almost blood red in color.
Gheneroc's face is featured like many other dragons, he has a blunt-tipped snout that features two nostrils. His eyes sit on either side of his head, providing almost full view range around his body. His hide is much thicker and heavier than other dragons, almost even plate-like in structure. Rather than just one basic layer of dragon scale, Gheneroc might have a few, this helps to bulk out his appearance.
Prelude
A story from the mouth of the dragon.
"I am stone. I am earth. I was born many ages ago when dragons took to the skies. We ruled the world, and as the sky darkened with my kin, my forefathers took to the earth. They forsook their wings for power over the earth beneath their feet. We created what is today known as the 'Underdark'. I ruled my own kingdom long before others existed. When the dwarves came, we taught them how to shape stone. They betrayed us, war was declared. They fought my kin, and we were driven away. We were driven deeper and deeper until we were forgotten. When such a time came, I slept. The ages passed and I have awakened to this new, strange world. I assume the rest of my kin have perished in the ages."
Character History
Born between the ages in which the dwarven clans were forged and the war that broke out between the dwarves and dragons, Gheneroc possesses much ancient knowledge lost in the telling of history. Gheneroc induced a heavy self-hibernation that lasted for tens of thousands of years and though the world above changed, his slumber was never disturbed.
Having lived for 1,000 years of his life before his hibernation, Gheneroc possesses knowledge of many ancient magicks that are potent and useful. His terramancy comes from his blood, and he learned that by simply growing into it, but his other magic was acquired. Gheneroc's history also involved ruling his own micro kingdom. He has knowledge of ruling an area, and how to treat any potential followers.
Up to the Present
Gheneroc has taken over a cave in Xalious from where he seeks to re-establish his own empire. Now, with a steady following, Gheneroc is building more power.
Gheneroc took a consort. Larewen.
Gheneroc's initial plan has changed. Details are not to be discussed on the Wiki, but it involves a Paladin of Arkhen.
Gheneroc saved Emilia from Ohan and in turn, was able to capture and mark Ohan.
A small brood of hatchlings were born in Gheneroc's acquired cave, the Ancient Black Dragon's Den and Gheneroc has since adopted them. Parenthood has invariably started to change some of Gheneroc's priorities.
Gheneroc lost his consort. Larewen left and became unmarked.
Gheneroc's frequent absences have been attributed to his growing number of followers, the preparation required to take a seat of power within Craughmoyle, a region that he continues to see as his birthright.
Gheneroc has taken to training Nasada and has the necromancer under his mark and protection.
Powers and Magic
Gheneroc is officially a Mage. He primarily practices earth-bending magic also known as Terramancy. This is in addition to his natural draconic powers.
Gheneroc's understanding of magic dates back to the very beginnings of Hollow. It is not words that create the spell, but the will and focus of the caster. The words, to Gheneroc, are meaningless. Traditional Arcane Magic, Gheneroc refers to as "Elven" magic. According to Gheneroc, it was the elves that devised that shallow form of magic, but allowed anyone who knew the right words to become powerful. In direct comparison, however, Gheneroc's method is far harder to learn and far more trying on the caster, however this would enable anyone to cast a spell without speaking or moving with just the right amount of focus and sheer willpower.
Magic
For the purposes of this page, Gheneroc's magic will be classifed by a parent-type such as Arcane (spoken word, ingrediant-based), Rune (written word or character, can appear mid-air), or Natural (given by blood or race). Gheneroc, due to his age, has memorized many spells that have simply been lost to the ages.
- Rune Magic
- Chain of Domination: The Chain of Domination appears as a link, or several chain links tattooed upon a person's body. The more links that are present, the more the magic is enforced on the individual, and the more difficult the spell is to release without consequence. This rune enhances the bearer's natural abilities, but it also allows Gheneroc to fully dominate the bearer, sometimes against their will.
- Chains of Binding: This is essentially an immobilization spell. Chains of Binding has had multiple ways that it can be manifested. Sometimes, a magic circle appears beneath a target and magic black chains are summoned to fully restrict the target's movement. The other is a rune similar to the Chain of Domination, but with binding as the intent.
- Gheneroc can add an elemental rune (fire, electricity, ice, or unholy) to Chains of Binding to allow them to passively damage the target.
- Chains of Shielding: Quite literally, chains are summoned to defend Gheneroc from an attack. These chains are made of magic metal, and are capable of deflecting both physical and magical attacks.
Powers
- Breath Attack: Gheneroc's breath attack is the same as other Cave Dragons. It is a caustic, poisonous and acidic gas that quickly erodes most things and tends to melt organic material.
- Scale Armor: Gheneroc's scales are a bit tougher than the standard dragon's scale, not to mention there are a few layers to protect Gheneroc's soft skin. These scales are resistant to acid damage and magic-based attacks. The layers tend to soften blows from most elemental attacks.
- Dragon Strength: It should be said that Gheneroc possesses immense physical strength proportional to his size. He can lift and move objects roughly twice his body weight.

Faces of Gheneroc
There are a few that have become so involved with the tyranical dragon's schemes that he enacts his will through them most directly. Using the Chain of Domination, Gheneroc has been able to effectively "take" a more mortal form.
- The Beggar - Simply put, this poor human fool was found wandering Xalious begging for anything he could get. To spare him any further despair, Gheneroc offered to alleviate all his problems. With a ritual that lasted the better part of three days, the beggar's mind was emptied as his body was made a vessel for Gheneroc's will. This man has salt-and-pepper hair and beard. He wears clothes becoming of a beggar, and usually blends in. His skin is sun-kissed, and he usually appears to be starving. When the beggar no longer has a mind of his own.
- John the Good - Another human, this time sought the dragon to slay him but greed overcame this man's ambition. Gheneroc offered him wealth beyond imagining to work as an agent of the dragon instead. Eager to accept, John accepted Gheneroc's mark. John is a human with long oily black hair, a beard grown upon his young face. He is usually clad in gold-gilded armor, provided to him by Gheneroc. He is a very charismatic person, often able to smooth talk his way anywhere.
Player Notes
- I will ask for permission before using the Chain of Domination. Always. It will work as long as the opposing player consents. Any characters seen with the mark have consented to bear it.
- While Gheneroc may be a bit more magically powered, he has not trained in physical combat. His physical prowess involves bashing, smashing, clawing and biting. Very basic.
