A Closer Look

What is Celestyn?

To the casual observer, Celestyn is a high elf, if a little taller and more muscular than average.

Her skin is light, and her black curls tumble past her shoulder. Sweeping bangs cover her right eye and leaving the left visibly shining back at the world, a vivid green. Full lips smile at others, and she appears friendly enough.

To those who are observant, though; something may seem off. For Celestyn is more that she appears. There's a struggle in that smile, and a secret in those acidic eyes.

Who is Celestyn?

A difficult question. If Celestyn was asked, her answer would probably be different each time. What defines a person? Is it their genetics? Or how they were raised?

That very confusion is a part of what makes Celestyn who she is. Her mind is a mess of confusion, which she shoves aside to smile at the world. But the why are they, and who am I question always linger.

If you asked what she feared, she would say very little. Her reactions may speak differently though. The way she flinches at an especially large shadow from above is particularly telling.

She considers people watching her only hobby, though she calls it "practicing observation".

If you define the phrase "who are you" as a person's past; then Celestyn is a very complex character. She was born of a mother, sire by a creature who was not what the woman who bore her thought, and rejected by one mother only to be raised by another.

A Tale

The Synopsis

Having lost the woman who raised her to the difference in their lifespans, Celestyn became lost in the world, and confused. She didn't know what to do with herself; what she really was. She had knowledge of what had gone into creating her physically, the unique mix of creatures. But what did that make her, given the stark differences between them?

In her search for guidance a group of ne'er-do-wells came upon her, and convinced her she was destined for darkness. It was in her blood. They taught her the ways of assassination (which she excelled at in theory). The only thing was, she still wasn't sure this was her fate. She fled the group, who to the best of her knowledge could still be after her. Now she continues on her search for self; a trained assassin who has never actually killed; but who is plagued by dueling ideals.

Is destined to become like her father? Is she destined to be like the woman who gave birth to her? Could she dream of being what her mother had hoped for her? There were three kinds within her...who would she be?

Who's You're Daddy?

Celestyn's back story isn't fully developed because I feel like it's going to come back and get her one day in the form of her father. I haven't said too much about the deeper backstory here as far as what I do have planned because the more I reveal, the more likely people will cross OOC reveals into IC knowledge. But basically, Celestyn was planned, on her fathers side. A plan that is taking years to come to fruition. I just don't know WHY/WHAT yet.

Whatever the reason, it could be a HUGE deal. And I'm open to ideas from people who have been considering applying for an alt (through proper channels) or scrapping their current character for a new one.

The Gang's All Here

I mentioned that Celestyn spent some time training to be an assassin (never actually did any killing) before running away the group that was training her. If this fits any group that is currently in existence, and you want to work out an RP, it would be a pleasure!
