The Hero of Freedom Championship

Larket's first annual Hero of Freedom Championship! No sovereign nation or city-state in all of Lithrydel cherishes freedom as much as Larket. King Macon and Queen Josleen seek their Hero of Freedom who embodies the fighting spirit, generous heart, and courage that freedom requires.

The tournament will take place across Larket, from its arena to the fort to the Enchanted Forest the Red Tower to the cemetery and so on. Each fight will take place in an arena prepared with environmental dangers to raise the stakes. Heroes beware!

The championship will kick off August 1st.

Prizes

  • Champion: 250,000 gold and a +10 custom Weapon AND +7 custom Armor (wear position of their choosing) AND the Larketian Medal of Freedom
  • Second Place: 100,000 gold, and a +5 custom Weapon AND +4 Armor (wear position of their choosing) AND Custom Pet Easter Egg

Rules and Details

Format:

  • Tournament will be single elimination rounds.
  • No entry fee required.
  • The duel dates and times will be announced days prior to allow duelists and watchers to prepare. Any scheduling issues need to be sorted before the day of the duel, and no-shows will be disqualified, while a possible Back-up Entrant takes their place.
  • The location for each duel will be announced at least one hour prior to the duel beginning, but any environmental effects will only be announced just before the duel is set to begin.
  • Duels will be the traditional 3 rounds and final defense (format outlined here), with 15 minute rounds.
  • All duels will be posted on the Wiki, please record and send your duels to Josleen.
  • Duelists are allowed to add further stakes to their duels if they so desire. If no additional stakes are agreed upon, 'auto-hit round to the winner is the default stakes.
  • Guests may organize betting pools if they so desire.
  • RP from and within the audience is permitted and encouraged! It goes without saying, of course, that the audience should not interact with the duelists for the sake of fairness.

Judging

  • Duelists will choose their own judges ahead of the duel. It is important that you and your opponent agree on judges. If you cannot agree on your judges, please inform Josleen ASAP.
  • If no judges are available that you can agree on, it is suggested to begin the duel, record all posting times, and send it to judges afterward.
  • Duelists may not judge other duels in the tournament, as any of their characters.

Josleen is available as a last minute fill-in if no judges can be found or if judges fall through. She prefers not to be called on to judge cause she's got enough on her plate running the tournament and other Hollow things! Thanks for understanding!
