We're creepy and we're kooky. Mysterious and spooky. We're altogether... owait.
The Cabal is an RP intensive clan, which has existed for around seven years now. Though we're well-known for our epic RP, we aren't at all snobbish or "elitist" that way, nor is that kind of posting a clan requirement. We accept new and old players, of any level of skill, if we think they have what it takes to "be Cabal".
What does that mean? Here's a few points we take into consideration:
- We do our best to support each others' individual storylines, as well as the larger plots of the clan.
- We value good 'roleplay manners'. Simple etiquette such as waiting to see where people are and what's going on before posting into in an rp, taking the time to read others' posts carefully, and allowing other their moments to 'shine' (be the hero/villain/focus of attention) are expected of Cabal members.
- We don't care to always be the heroes - how boring! We find characters who aren't driven by their players to never lose, and players who aren't driven by their egos to always win, far more interesting to interact with.
- Vital to us is the ability to keep IC and OOC separate. It's one thing to plan an rp, or to discuss outcomes oocly - it's another to use your IC posts as a means of offending and/or needling another player ooc. This sort of idiotic behaviour will have you removed from consideration, very probably on a permanent basis.
- IC and OOC loyalty to the clan is important, hence the saying, "once Cabal, always Cabal".
Membership is usually by invitation only, meaning we don't recruit. If you impress us with a good player attitude, good RP manners, inventive roleplay and a lack of being an asshat you're likely to get an invite. Do NOT nag us. Ever. I mean that.
We often say to people enquiring on how to join : "RP with us until we forget you're not in the clan and try to talk to you on clanchat." Most often, that is a big factor in how we make our choices.
Alignment:
Cabal is icly Chaotic Neutral, if we must do the alignment thing. Really, it's a strange little family of misfits and ne'er-do-wells, with the occasional goody two shoes thrown in, who do epic stuff together and sometimes just goof around. And, of course, we have a totally awesome clan back story to glue it all together.
