Ah, there is a contradiction in this page... Basically, the -entire- page is devoted to how they were created by dark, evil gods just to destroy things and be evil/chaotic, yet the alignment says they can be good or evil, with the addition that most of them are evil. This is, to me at least, not needed. Make them an evil race; as clearly they are, and remove that little part about any alignment. If you wish to create a new race of ridiculously powerful evil beings, at least keep them as such. If you wish to create a counter race of good super powerful beings, fine. But otherwise, keep them at least within the canon you are creating them for. That's my opinion, anyway - feel free to take it or leave it. It doesn't overly effect me either way. -Svil.

  • Note taken. I'm up for listening for good races too. And this isn't a ridiculously powerful being. They are just magically enhanced creatures. Plenty of weaknesses. I wasn't the only one that created this race either... It was a group effort. --Vuryal (talk) 00:19, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

To Vuryal: They are weak against ice magic and holy magic. That is their weaknesses listed. They are virtually immune to all physical damage and have very powerful spells to cast; and I'd assume are virtually immune to fire magic and any dark magic cast their way... that is how it comes across... so, to me, that counts as ridiculously powerful, yeah? A new player who gets one of these, let's say it's me, starts off being able to defeat any swordsman, weapon master, ranger etc,. and are immune to the dark magics which all but a few use for most their power. If I made an alt like that just out of nowhere, everyone would say I was god-modding. Which I would be... see where I'm going with this?

And yeah, I am not accusing -you- of making a dumb race. The race is fine; you've basically just made a race that is demons, being given their power from Gods. That's cool, I don't mind. Just some balance would perhaps be good. That, or make sure whoever you get to play them isn't afraid of high stakes duels. Then it isn't such an issue, really, because they can be destroyed, studied etc... after that. Rather than just 'boom, new powerful race, none of them duel, everyone is screwed not by RP, but by a decision made out of character to gift them this character'. :)

Take it easy - Svil.

(Also, as a note: I'm not trying to attack you here. I just figure if you get feedback after creating another new race in Hollow it will help to ensure that they work better than the last one. Don't think I am being an ass! I am not - or at least, that is not my intention, comrade. :) )

  • Perfectly fine with that. And their major weakness is that when they use their magic, their bodies begin to harden and deteriorate. If they continue to use their magic, their bodies will become completely solid (wasting the "ash" body) and making them highly susceptible to swords/arrows/etc. They aren't great melee fighters, so they would be at an extreme disadvantage in a duel in this regard.

And I can pretty much guarantee that this race will *not* be overly played. Much like the lich and other special races, this one is highly regulated. It was billed as another option for those people that have been around a while and that I don't see abusing their powers.

And no attack on myself was noted. I'm open for dialogue and such. If you (or anyone else) has suggestions as to how to control this race, I'm more than open to it. They aren't meant to be OP, rather just an advanced pyromancer with a unique body. --Vuryal (talk) 02:03, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
