Talk:Astral Bodies

From HollowWiki

I rewrote one of these - admins, if it's okay, please feel free to use it. I might rewrite the others, too, as they're a bit sloppy. But we'll see.

Arh'Nuk

Stained red with the blood of mortals, Arh'Nuk shines a dull crimson in the night sky. Strange arcane symbols have been carved deep into its surface, and are even visible from the ground. Devoid of light, they show as a darkness on the scarlet surface of the moon, and within them seas forged of a dark and thick liquid ebb up from magical voids. Since time unknown, ambitious mages have copied and attempted to use these symbols, often calling forth power far beyond their ability to control. Very few understand what they truly mean and what connection they share with the magic of Hollow – the secret kept within the highest ranks of the Mage's Guild. Arh'Nuk travels around in a shared orbit with the large Vaalane, and many legends speak of the two moons' eternal race across the night sky. Svilfon (talk) 02:11, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

  • I suggest that the gravity of Hollow be set back to 100% of Earth instead of 190%. Other than being a 'neat' thing, I don't think it serves any purpose, and nothing else is changed anywhere else in game lore to support it.
    • Humans are still around 6' tall and weigh the same.
    • Giants are implausible enough under regular Earth gravity, requiring denser, stronger bone structure to stand.
    • Air pressure would be thicker at sea level, providing better support, but large flying creatures would be even less likely against double the gravity.
    • If you use the 'magic' card to explain the above, then there is absolutely no reason to have 190% gravity, as it changes nothing about the game.

  • I was under the impression that Hollow was actually named Lithrydel? Or is that the country? I would highly appriciate clarity in this --Uchawiman
    • Hrm. @UchaWiman:: I -think- it's the continent, but I can't really be sure. We still need expansions on all the countries.

There is, after all, apparently 4 continents. With 2 being (according to my understanding of the game): Lithrydel & Rynvale. >> What about the other two?

@Cyllarus:: Depending what the people on hollow are at their base composition would affect how they could function at a different gravity level. If they've all adapted to such a harsh amount of gravity, it could, in fact, sort of explain the rpg physics involved in people surviving the things that they do (Given that they are a more durable breed, composed of more durable matter, no?) I mean, really. Who says we're even carbon based, given the denizens of hollow were friggin created by gods. Frankly, there is likely elements that exist on hollow that do not exist on earth. I see no reason to change this. If anything, it just provides something interesting, in case someone tries to import a human from another 'dimension' or whatnot. (Without divine interference, which could, in fact, automatically compensate for such things).
