Rules of Leadership

From HollowWiki

Description

  • Area leaders are players entrusted to administer a city within the game.
  • Area leaders work alongside admin to bring rp and arcs to a specific city.
  • These are going to be standard rules and will apply to all the cities. This set of conditions will allow for the leadership of each city to be involved in its development as well as set conditions that they must remain active in order to hold the position of Governor/Liege/etc.
  • Current recognized leaders are listed here, and only those listed will be recognized officially.

Rules of Leadership

  1. Area leaders must be actively roleplaying in the area they wish to lead, and must inspire RP in others.
  2. Area leaders should be of the race and alignment of their area, as detailed in the table below. For instance, in Trist'oth, drow and evil would be ideal. Certain cases can be accepted (at admin discretion).
  3. Area leaders should reside within the area they are applying for.
  4. Each area should strive to choose a deputy leader. Deputy leaders are also subject to admin approval, and in the event that the area leader does not have a suitable deputy, admin may appoint a candidate they deem suitable.
  5. Area leaders must be an active roleplayer in their area. If a leader (or someone on their behalf) fails to log an rp on the wiki related to their area in over 60 days, they may be replaced by their deputy, or if the deputy is also inactive, by another player of the admin’s choosing.
  6. Area leaders are considered IC and OOC leaders of the community. Thus they must exhibit good behavior and work well with admin. Admin have right of refusal to officially recognize any leader that does not uphold the exemplary behavior of a community leader.
  7. Roleplays directly relating to area/guild maintenance must be conducted through the Hollow game interface to count towards the activity requirement. Otherwise, it will be considered out-of-Hollow writing. This applies to both leaders and deputies. Attempting to post the RP after the fact through the Hollow interface if it is found to have originated off-site will result in a warning and possible removal of position.
  8. Anyone interested in becoming an area leader must complete the form listed at the bottom of this page.

Funding

  • Each area receives a 10,000 monthly stipend to assist with their RPs within the area. Inactive areas do not accumulate a stipend.
  • This stipend is kept in a separate funding account. Area leaders can donate to that account and request that account's balance by hmailing admin.
  • If an area leader is purchasing customs with this stipend, they need only specify that in their hmail to Customs.

Town Development

  • Area leaders who request room changes should direct room changes and additions to Builder. All changes should be discussed with admin and can be made at the discretion of the administrative team for a fee of 50,000 gold per edit, which will be subtracted from the city funds.
  • Setting up shops will be an additional 50,000 gold on top of the edit fee. See the Customs Price List for pricing for new shop items. Existing items may be added to the shop free of charge at admin discretion. Admin reserve the right to limit the number of items offered in a shop.
  • Area leaders do not receive income from area shops. If an area leader wishes to have an income-generating shop, they must apply for it and pay for it like any other player. Using city funds to pay for individually held shops is against the rules.

  • Area you wish to rule:

  • Do you have a deputy leader in mind? If so, who and why?
  • Any Additional info:

Instructions: All of these questions MUST be answered to the best of your ability. The Administrators will then take into consideration your request. During this process you may be mailed by administrators asking for additional information that must be provided.

Given that this is a serious application and may well influence the development of Hollow, there is a fee of 10000 gold which will be deducted from your inventory or bank account. Players who are unsuccessful in their applications will have half of the fee refunded to them. Please note, that the funds you lose will enter the city funds/treasury and will be used to the benefit of the area. If you do not have enough gold at the time but are serious in your commitment, a payment plan can be organised with the administrative team.

All forms must be sent to Applications with Area Leadership Approval as the subject.

Disclaimer: Please note that you are not guaranteed area leadership just by applying and you cannot appeal this decision; it is final. Having RPed once in an area does not constitute enough to be able to rule or lead it. Players do not have a right to area leadership, it is a privilege that can be removed if the administrators see fit.
