RP: Teaching a Genasi Lesson Two

From HollowWiki

Summary: Emilia as promised meets up with Xzavior for another lesson with her training. Too much, too fast for an unpracticed Genasi, another life and another time this meeting would be as easy as pouring afternoon tea, but it overheats the frozen woman to her breaking point ending the storm along with the lesson. Xzavior is left with an unconscious Genasi in his care.

Xzavior was asleep on his couch with Leifa curled up on his chest rising and falling along with his breathing. He had just came back from the wildlands with Sabrina and even though they spent a day and a half just sleeping that other half of the day was spent fighting Rohk for it and that took a toll on him. As the sun passed through the bay window Leifa stirred and gave a cute little yawn before jumping off and moving to a less light filled area to get a few more hours od sleep, leaving Xzavior with a feeling of longing as the weight on his chest disappeared. With a groan he got up slowly and scratched his side, still not used to having his fingers catch on the newfound scars.

Emilia had an incident with black ink one day where in writing a lock of white had dipped into the well and stained the dark coloring. Hours of scrubbing and nothing would remove the streak of black from the woman’s pure white curls, so what did the tiny Genasi do? Soak the remainder of the curls in the ink to match the accidental patch. So now the Genasi had with curls black as ink walked backwards down the path toward the cabin of Xzavior with a slow steady pace and a soft hum on her lips. With her came the gentle winter breeze guiding the woman as she traveled in the most odd of ways on this day to see the Naga she’d not visited in a long while. Hopefully he was home.

Xzavior was up and about, albeit slowly. He had first made his way into the kitchen to make himself some coffee before heading back into the living room and catching sight of Emilia throught the window, bringing a smile to his face. It has been way too long since he'd seen the woman and was definitely glad to see her again. He wanted to check her progress and see how much she could control it. Feeling a lot more energetic he placed the cup aside and opened the door offering her a smile. He wasn't wearing a shirt, cause this was his house and he wasn't expecting anyone over and he really didn't care otherwise. From last time she saw him he'd looked like he had been in a battle and came out with a varied assortment of scars all looking like cuts except for the one on his shoulder that Rohk had gave him when he bit his shoulder. "It's been too long, how have the days been treating you!" He offered her a kind smile and motioned her inside.

Emilia only when she reached the open door turned around to walk like a normal person as she entered his home. Jet black curls a tangled mess in her face, “It has been awhile since I have last seen you. I see you have chosen to add more battle wounds to your figure.” The Genasi remarked to the new scars that could be seen on his exposed torso. As if the frail woman lived in the home she walked past the man and plopped onto his couch with a content sigh to its comfort after a long walk to the cabin. “I have been well. A run in with a jar of ink and exposure to another ancient dragon’s investigation…turns out that not only am I made of ice at my core, but I can actually heal people with it. Not suck up their soul!” A small laugh from the little woman as she laid back on the couch, making herself more at home for the moment remembering back to the one time she’d healed one and thought she’d stolen part of their soul to never retry such an act again.

Xzavior raised a brow when she mentioned that, "Heal people? That's great! Sadly I don't think I'll be able to help you with that but I'm pretty sure Sabrina could if you need help on it." With a chuckle though he made his way over to the kitchen to grab his coffee and asked if she wanted anything before heading back into the living room and sitting on the chair by the window. "Well, I didn't choose to add these. Most of them. This one was kinda my fault." He pointed to a longer mark down his side he had gotten from a duel swordsman. "Everything else just found their way to me." He gave a shrug and took a drink as Liefa came from her hiding to find out who the new presence was. Leaping on the couch she gave Emilia a curious sniff before butting her hand with her snout.

Emilia blinked as her hand was greeted with a head butting. Rolling onto her side the little woman found the culprit of the assault and greeted Liefa with a gentle smile before gently petting the head of the creature, “Why, Hello there little cutie.” Idly with one hand she petted the friendly critter while turning her attention back to Xzavior, “Life works that way at times. Giving you things as a gifts that you do not always expect to be receiving. One of my chickens gave me a new gift!” The woman said as she shifted the back of her shirt up to reveal her back. However, it was hard to tell which scar was the new one. Her entire back from shoulders down to her waist was nothing but a layering of scars on top of scars. It was nearly impossible to fathom how one could sport as many scars in one area as the Genasi did, but for some it was also shocking when her back was revealed to be marred like it was when the rest of her was near flawlessly smooth.

Xzavior chuckled softly as he saw the little wyvern leaning into her hand and purring like a kitten. "Her name is Leifa." She was an ice wyvern so even if Emilia was cold she would just enjoy the feeling. Which she was unable to do when Emilia moved to show off her collection of scars giving a small warble of sadness. Despite having his own, scars on the back were a lot different from almost everywhere else. Especially when they looked the way they did. With a hum he gave her a bit of a joking grin, "Was it a tasty meal that night?" Unless it was a source of eggs that chicken would have been dinner for him after that.

Emilia let the shirt fall back into place hiding the scar filled back from sight once more and returning her attention to petting the wyvern again. It was nice to be able to pet something without being afraid of accidently giving it frost bite. “It actually did made one good meal for the kids. I cannot say when the last time I enjoyed a warm meal was. A life of cold diet leaves food less interesting and enjoyable than one would think. Only so much can be created with things of frigged nature. I should learn to cook more cold things.”

Xzavior hummed a bit when he thought about only being able to eat cold food, "Well hopefully we can get you to the point you don't have to worry about what you cook anymore. You'll just be able to make it." Leifa was again purring softly at her touch and was leaning into her hand the longer she ha contact before crawling up and sitting on the woman's lap. "Stealing me hatchling are you?" He gave her a joking smile, "So how far have you come with it by the way?"

Emilia welcomed the critter into her lap, even leaning down to kiss Leifa on the head as she cuddled the and petted the creature. “Just borrowing your hatchling…” there was a smile and a wink. Then there was the question of how well she was able to control her ice nature, “Oh, well I have found that I can spend a couple hour in the public with boots and clothing on without making it snow or having to empty my boots from being filled to the brim with snow, but after a few hours I start to panic and make an exit to get some space…”

Xzavior was glad to hear she was making some progress in controlling it, so with a nod he gave her an encouraging look, "Well we can get started again on another session like last time, without the side effects hopefully. And you may borrow Leifa for now. She seems to have taken quite a liking to you." He waited patiently for her response and even if she didn't want to do it like last time he had a plan for that too.

Emilia looked like she had just taken a bit of a lemon when the tongue of the wyvern darted out as she bent down to the kiss the critter and it went up her nose. The Genasi for a moment was speechless staring at the Naga blankly without blinking. It took her a short time to refocus after having her nose cleaned to find herself again, “I am not sure that last time was the best of options. I am really not so good with the whole relaxation aspect. Are you sure there isn’t another way to go about it? Less dangerously?”

Xzavior made no reaction about what Leifa did. It would be a bit rude to laugh at that. He could understand her concern about what had transpired last time being a bit risky but he felt that sometimes taking risks was the only way to get things done, "If you're worried about me or my cabin then I'm going to say that you don't have to be. I've handled tougher situations then a rough looking snowstorm and a cabin can easily be rebuilt. But if it is yourself that you are concerned about then I might have a better way. But I don't want you saying you're concerned about yourself if it isn't. Even Leifa here has handled her fair share of storms." Leifa tilted her head back to look at Emilia and gave a small yip as if agreeing.

Emilia would have flat out laughed her rear end off if Leifa had gotten her tongue accidently into the nose of Xzavior…and not even felt a little bad about it, but that was the Genasi for you. “Alright, find. But what if ice spikes start flying and impale someone or poke out an eye of someone or the snow causes the roof to collapse? Or someone gets frozen to the ground?” The Genasi could name a good deal of things that could go wrong if the little woman tapped into the core of her ice nature if she relaxed enough into it, but somehow that was supposed to help? Letting herself relax enough that all her power unleashed itself? “I guess let us give it a try.” She was comfy! And with a groan she got up from the couch after setting Leifa down first.

Xzavior 's reasoning was that by letting her do this it would help burn off some of that energy she had so that when they really went to go about it she wouldn't accidentally cause a massive snowstorm or anything like that. Gaining control of something you already have and haven't used since you've had it isn't an easy task. "Well if that does happen, we are alone out here. Only one at risk is me. I'm a healer, Sabs actually gave me control over the Sage route. And if I get frozen to the ground you have all the right in the world to laugh at me cause that should never happen. And if you snow in my cabin then I'll rebuild it later.' Leifa wasn't too happy about being moved either, giving a disappointed babbling noise as she was placed aside but with a look from Xzavior stayed in place. Coming to a stand he went to the door and opened it for her and waited for her to leave. He could be polite.

Emilia offered a soft smile as Xzavior opened the door for her, what a gentleman. Out the front door the Genasi paused to pat her leg to beckon Leifa to follow the pairing out of the cabin…just in case she caved in the roof with snow she would hate for her to be trapped inside and have to be dug out. Em would await both pairing to exit the cabin before making the walk along the path that lead to the clearing where they had practiced the previous time in the clearing off to the side of his cabin. “You know, you are really a good sport to brave the consequences that could come from this with me. Most people would honestly be too afraid of the snow and ice to want to delve too far, so…I want to thank you again.”

Xzavior just smiled and nodded to the wyvern who jumped happily and flapped her little wings over to Emilia and padded after her excitedly. Following them himself he looked over at her as she started to address his, as he called, not-caring-what-happensness, and gave her a smile, "Snow and ice has been my element for a long time now. So it would be a shame if I couldn't handle it. That and I love to help people. You don't need to thank me." Leifa would follow Emilia to wherever she chose and would wait for her expectantly. Before Emilia could get Leifa to go away Xzavior would call, "I'd rather you held onto Leifa. The eye of the storm is always the calmest and though she might be in ice wyvern she is still a child." Leifa would even look up at her with pleading eyes.

Emilia looked down at the small hatchling with pleading eyes as the two of them stood more central of the clearing. With a gentle smile on those frosted lips the dark haired Genasi squatted down and scoped up Leifa into her arms, cradling the wyvern like she would one of her draconian children with mind of the wings and tail. With the small one safe in her arms Em rose back to her full height with her eyes closed, falling to silence as she took in slow steady breaths. The Genasi listened to the sounds of the world about her from the faint forest breeze to the gentle beating heart of Leifa in her arms. Inhale, exhale, relax, inhale, exhale, relax. Slowly the temperature in the Sage forest started to plummet growing ever colder until the moisture in the air started to turn into falling flakes of snow and the ground below feet and snake tail frost over.

Xzavior twitched his tail slightly as it did to keep the frost off of him as she went on. Watching her progress carefully for anything that might need to be resolved before it became too much of a problem. He had matched her rhythm of breathing and remained as silent as possible during, not wanting to disturb her. Leifa was having a great time as she felt the air grow colder and suddenly snow started falling. She was babbling quietly, but happily as she kicked her little feet out at the snow and biting at it when it came in range with tiny clicks of her teeth. Despite how serious he wanted to be, watching her act like that brought a small smile to Xzaviors face.

Emilia almost didn’t notice the squirming of the wyvern in her arms, perhaps the critter was too closer in nature to holding one of her children back when they were babies. The snow that was falling at a steady pace remained the way it was as the breathing of the woman slowed further, the ground beneath her feet went from being frost covered to ice coated and the wind started to pick up. It was not long before the temperature within the clearing was colder than some areas within Frostmaw as the wind whipped around the dark haired woman sending jet black curls dancing around the woman in a flurry. In a moments time the eyes of the Genasi’ flashed open but they were a solid glowing as her feet were lifting off the ground. She was holding the wyvern close against her chest as the snow about her feet turned to ice shards flying around her, swirling around with the snow forming a cyclone with the little duo in the center of it. Winds gusting, ice shards shooting away from it, tree branches bending, ice spikes forming and growing larger from the ground, and a deadly storm within the clearing growing worse however, contained.

Xzavior watched her progress unwavered. He was glad though that he had made Emilia hold onto the little wyvern. She would have tried to dive head first into the storm, so being at the center of it let her have that and have all the more fun while there. She was warbling happily as she watched the storm pick up and the temperature drop and Frost just stood there watching intently but remained aware of the ice whipping around and the effects she was having on the environment around them. Mostly so he knew what he had to dodge or stop from hurtling towards the relaxing elemental. He knew full well that with enough sessions like this her powers would be manageable. And after that, controllable. The ice spikes, whenever they got close enough was turned to snow with a single touch and paid little mind. So far this was gong a lot better then last time

Emilia | The storm raged on. The wind gusted sending dirt and rock mixed with snow and ice flying around the clearing. Snow piled up and ice chunks impaled into tree trunks. Worse and worse the storm grew until suddenly it all ended like a snap of someone’s fingers. The Genasi’s eyes fell shut as she fell from the sky to the ground below into a pile of snow below. Enough energy had been spent that she’d passed out from the storm. Even as she fell from the sky the wyvern was cradled safe from the landed as to not be harmed. As it all calmed down the frozen woman lay unconscious in the soft pile of snow, her flesh a gentle shade of blue over its natural shade of white.

Xzavior had been ducking and dodging the random bits of debris that came his way, bracing himself against the wind and giving himself hods on the ice so he wouldn't go sliding. He was about to call it off as the storm was starting to get a bit out of hand. It was a good session today, this was a fine stop for today. And apparently Emilia thought so too. As she fell to the ground he cursed lightly under his breath and made his way over to her. Leifa had slipped from her grasp and was nudging Emilia’s chin giving soft whimpers of concern. He frowned slightly but raised a brow when he saw she wasn’t white but blue! Humming he picked her up and brought her back to the cabin, Leifa jumping on his tail and riding him. No point leaving her out here even if she could handle it. Once inside he shut the door behind them and placed her on the couch and placing a hand on her head to check her temperature. If what he thought was right she would feel warmer than she had when she first came in.

Emilia was warm, to the point that Xzavior could actually feel heat coming off her skin. The Genasi had not had heat exit her body since she’d turned into an ice-creature. The warmth of being alive had vanished when her human guise did. Since then she has been cold as Frostmaw if not colder. Her skin burned beneath his hand.

Xzavior had wanted this result but not this fast. She really let out all of that energy and it was not as nice and gradual as he had hoped. With a disapproving hum he started to move a hand along her body cooling her to a more moderate temperature. He wasn’t going to bring her back outside unless it was truly necessary. He continued to do it for a while longer until he felt her body would stay that temp or until she woke up. Leifa had taken it upon herself to jump up and slide in between Emilia's arms. Leifa herself was cold, though a lot less then what Emilia had been.

Emilia would slowly lose the feeling of the warmth from her flesh, but she didn’t wake even with the wyvern curling up between her arms. She would be out for a time.
