RP:Wedding Crashers

From HollowWiki

Summary: After having their weekly breakfast at the Rolafir household, Largakh and Lanara both seem to have their schedule's wide open, so they decide to spend the day together. Coming upon an outdoor wedding, Lana gets one of her crazy ideas and convinces Larz to be her 'date' as they crash a wedding. Their spontaneous moment leads to a day filled with love, laughter, and everlasting memories.

Room Description: On the outskirts of Sage Forest, in a spacious clearing, an elegant wedding is about to begin, and guests are hurriedly taking their seats, excited to see two lovebirds tie the knot. A sign written in elegant calligraphy reads, ‘The Union of Jessera Cartney and Nicolai Waters.’ A fine, white cloth aisle runner has been carefully set upon the freshly cut grass, though the rear of the runner has been roped off, so that none other than the blushing bride can walk down the center. Rose petals have been sprinkled all along the area, in vibrant shades of pink, red, purple, and white. Waist-high white pillars sit a few feet from the aisle, and have a lovely spring bouquet of flowers resting atop. About a hundred, white wooden chairs have been situated, evenly distributed on each side of the center aisle, those on the groom’s side shall sit to the right, and those on the bride’s side shall sit to the left. At the front of the aisle is a table, draped with an elegant silver and white embroidered cloth. Atop the table sits a fine gold ribbon, a bottle of champagne, and two silver goblets. A silken arch is over the place where the couples will exchange their vows, decorated with beautiful roses, babies breath, and carnations. The backdrop of this romantic scene, is a serene lake, and two swans are swimming in the water. On the opposite side of the lake is a large, rustic gazebo, with a large dance-floor, a buffet lined with food, and a heart-shaped wedding cake.

Lanara gives Theo and Seldanna a warm hug, pulling back to smile at them both, “Thank you both again for breakfast. It’s so nice that we do this every week! If it’s alright I’d like to return the favor, and maybe make you both dinner, sometime.” She waits for their answer, and links her arm through the crook of Larz’s elbow, giving them a parting wave, before the two leave his grandparents house and head for the barn. Lana grins at the half-orc, giving him a sidelong glance, noting how he had dressed up for breakfast today. “Are you trying to impress me or something, Lard?” She’s jesting, as she also had dressed up, in hopes of impressing her warrior. Donning a navy blue, knee-length cocktail dress, silver three-inch high heels, and holding a matching clutch, she was sure to turn his head. It was rare, if ever, she dressed fancy, though Larz was worth the effort, and maybe Theo and Seldanna had appreciated the gesture, too. Her chestnut locks had been pinned into an elegant updo, with a few loose curls left loose, and she even wore a hint of make-up! She had been away from the man for three days, and breakfast had ended too soon, as it always had, though the rest of the day was mostly free. “So, are you working today? I’m, uh, free… If you maybe wanted to spend the day… Together?” The elf is suddenly shy, lowering her gaze as she leaves his side to head to the rear of the barn to have a quick visit with Firequacker. The duckling looks up at her as she reaches into his wire enclosure and lifts him into her hands, before gently hugging him to her chest. “Hiya, little guy! I missed you! Hopefully, I’ll have my own place soon and I won’t have to be so far from you. No more goodbyes, right?” A chaste kiss is planted on his bill, leaving a slight smear of lipstick, which she immediately proceeds to rub clean with her fingers. Firequacker nuzzles against her bosom, shifting his beady eyes to warily eye Larz, and gives a disgruntled quack. “That’s enough, now. What did I tell you? You have to be nice to everyone, little guy…” Lifting him, she watches as his webbed feet move wildly back and forth, as he fought to find grounding, and she obliges, by placing him back with his feathered siblings. Lana turns to look up at Larz, the pair locking eyes, chocolate and tuscan yellow. For a moment, they just stand in the barn, staring at each other, and she gives him a slow smile, before closing the distance, and pulling him close. “It was torture being away from you for those few days… And then I had to sit -across- from you at the table! We need to rectify this…. Right away.” The heels add to her height, so as she stands on her toes, he only has to slightly dip his head to meet her sangria-stained lips for a tender kiss. “I missed you…”

Largakh was happy to have told his grandparents that him and Lanara were seeing each other seriously because they adore her, but also were excited that he finally let someone in. Anytime Lanara visited them they showed her old clothes, keepsakes of Larz and Theo’s sketchbook of Larz’s upbringing. They dote on her like their own child and fret over where she staying, was she eating enough, was she safe, were the beds comfy? Larz let them pry, they probably see a lot of their deceased daughter in Lanara and it was healing for them, but time came for them to leave even though he could have spent all day there where he grew up. He wanted to have an adventure with Lanara and yes he was gazing at her from across the table at how good she looked. Theoduin and Seldanna smile sweetly at Lanara while happily agreeing to dinner. Without hesitation, he answers the question of trying to impress her, “all the time.” He unbuttoned the top button to his shirt and slipped the hand that wasn't at the small of her back into his dress slacks. His hair was styled to the side in a neat bordering messy look as his look was slightly casual compared to her own. “This is my usual day off, yeah… You are? I'd really enjoy spending the rest of the day with you, want to walk to the beach again?” He leaned up against the barn opening with both hands in his pockets now and grinning at Lanara, how she was with animals and children amazes him. He realizes in this moment he's falling even more for this woman as he lets out a soft chuckle during her scolding. Then she was before him, looking up at him the way she does with those doe eyes and the world melts away… He nearly made a joke about that being some sort of witchy spell, but she was tip toeing for a kiss and he obliges. One hand resting at the small of her back again while the other gently holds the back of her head (not messing her updo.) “I agree, I wouldn't wish this torture on my worst enemies. I missed you as well, Llama.” He takes her by the hand and laces his fingers through her own as he leads her away from the cabin and to the overgrown path until they met a road way. “Let's count the wildlife on our way to Cenril, yeah?” After a while of walking, pointing and chatting, joking and smiling they come across a small clearing… There was soft music playing and he stopped as it was not familiar to him and was that, bells? He didn't want to intrude on whatever, but he looked down at Lana, “do you hear that?”

Lanara hadn’t minded the endless questions that the elder’s had continuously thrown her way, she actually had grown quite fond of them in the past few weeks they had known each other. She answered each one with honesty, respect, and a more often than not, a ‘knowing’ smile with Larz. However, she hadn’t expected the half-orc to announce that they were in a serious relationship, and she was terrified that Seldanna would turn to her and ask something that referred to the ‘L’ word. Thus far, they hadn’t said it, and it was still rather early in their relationship, though she knew that if she were interrogated… Well, let’s just say that her answer would be readily available and surprise them both. She smiles as he says he’s always trying to impress her, and she catches him grinning at her as she plays with the duckling. And then, they shared another weak-in-the-knees kiss, and she forgets that they are in a barn, on his grandparents property, and she melts in the embrace, deepening the kiss. They thread their fingers together, hands clasped, and make their way onto the forest path, pausing here and there to spy a deer, a rare flower, and at one point an adolescent boar. Seeing the pig, she gives Larz a ‘look’ that clearly states that this little piggy is not ready to take an arrow, should he desire to go hunting. After several laughs, and counting ten birds, she pauses and looks up at him, clinging to his arm. “So… About breakfast. You, uh, told Seldanna and Theoduin that we are a couple. It surprised me… Do… Do you think they approve of your choice in seeing me as more than a friend?” (Cue the wedding bells!) Lana’s tapered ears pick up on the ringing of the bells, and she quirks a brow, before gently nudging him to follow, her hand gently squeezing his, as she steps off of the path and a little ways into the forest. The sound grows louder, and she fixes her gaze on a small wooden sign that mentions a wedding, and a small arrow that points deeper into the forest. “Oh my gosh! A wedding!” Never mind the fact that Lanara would have been marrying Eirik around this time, had she not ended their engagement. The elf still firmly believes in love, and spending the rest of her life with another. All hope was not gone when it came to matters of the heart, and in this case, Larz had her thinking things that were likely best not thought of this early in a relationship. “Let’s take a quick peek!” She wouldn’t take no for an answer, though if he were to drop her hand or return to the path, he’d be alone, as she had felt a pull to go and see a blushing bride and a handsome groom exchanging their vows. A glance couldn’t hurt, right?! Fifty feet inwards, and the trees part, to reveal a section of Sage Forest that she hadn’t known existed. A spacious clearing was affixed with chairs, flowers, about a hundred or so guests, and a groom standing beneath an arch, awaiting his bride to make her appearance. “It hasn’t even started, yet!” She’s whispering, so as not to cause a disturbance, and she takes in the beauty of the backdrop, noting the lake, and the building that housed the reception festivities. The wedding was rustic, yet elegant, and though it’s on a whim, she turns to Larz, pleased that he had followed her along and not headed back towards the path. She wraps her arms around his torso, and looks up at him with those pleading doe eyes, her long lashes batting against her high cheekbones. “I have always wanted to crash a wedding… What do you say? We are dressed appropriately. And we both have open schedules. And we can literally make up an alias, have some free drinks and food, mingle… Dance.” A pause. “It will be fun! Come on, Larz… Be my date!!! I promise not to step on your toes, or keep you out too late. I’ll even walk you back to your place in Gualon.” Maybe, stay the night. Though she keeps that part to herself, as she looks up at him, hoping he’d join in on her mischief. “You know you wanna!”

Largakh chuckles in a way that was like, ‘do you even have to ask?’ before he starts, “yes, they actually asked me about you when I first brought you over, hinting that you were looking at me in some type of way when you weren't looking. I couldn't set up my first date without them knowing seeing as it was in the woods behind their property. Plus, they keep trying to adopt you and if it isn't clear already, they love you.” The end of his answer clearly forgotten when the wedding bells were heard and he helped her through the forest giving her hand a soft squeeze in return, towards the sound till the sign was in sight. When she pushes on further, how couldn't he follow? This woman got him to jump off a cliff into chilly waters! She makes him feel like he could do anything and their chase ends at the clearing with all the chairs, the altar and all… Then his only had her arms wrapped around him and was giving him some sort of puppy dog look to which puts him under her spell willingly, how can you not say no to that face!? He realizes this power she has over him and softly grins, “you just watch what you ask of me.” Meaning he could never tell her no. She didn't even have to convince him and as soon as the words ‘crash a wedding’ came out of her mouth he took her by the hand and started to confidently walk towards the ceremony, act like you belong. Luckily, this was a union of a human and draconian and their array of friends and family was from all walks of life so it wasn't hard to blend in. Larz escorted Lana to sit in the back row, all gentleman of him, and sat next to her before draping his arm around the back of her chair, the hand to that arm gently caressing her bicep. He leans in and whispers, “okay, so I'm a merchant that travels for business and you're a bank teller, we met five years ago and we've been married for two. We will be the Ergoths and my name will be Xago Ergoth, what say you?” It was fun making up this pretend life and once he gets her alias name and any other details she wants to add he relaxes in his chair as he watches the groom… A realization washing over him, he's met this man before and grins - this is going to be easier than he thought. The groom, being of human descent, waits anxiously for his blushing bride and the tempo of the music shifts, if it wasn't quiet already then you can definitely hear a pin drop now. Everyone turns to await the sight of the beautiful draconian bride, but Larz still watches the groom to see how he went from nervous, worried and scared to on the brink of tears, happiness and excitement. As the bride passed the last row of seats is when Larz appreciated the bride after looking to Lana to see her reaction as well. This was exciting, making up names, being somewhere you weren't supposed to be and it was fun as long as he was with Lana. As the ceremony starts his arm shifts around Lanara a little to pull her just a little closer while his other hand reached across his lap to hold onto her nearest hand. Every once in a while he would steal a glance to Lana and if she were to be tearing up he would give her a clean kerchief.

Lanara seems pleased to hear that Theo and Seldanna approve of her dating their grandson, as well as the fact that they are fond of her, although her eyes widen at the mention of the ‘look’ she had given him at that first breakfast. Was she -that- obvious?! “Oh.” Is all she has to offer, her cheeks flooding with color. Larz grins down at her, full prepared to dive headfirst into crashing the wedding of total strangers, and she can’t help but melt as he tells her to watch what she asks of him. “I would never take advantage or put you in any real danger…” Although she had taken advantage of his time and affection in the past, as well as the whole cliff diving and swimming through a waterfall, thus putting him in potential danger. But it was light hearted and fun, and this half-orc had her often feeling as though she were invincible. Hand in hand, they stride across the grass and take a seat, studying those in the audience, as well as the elegant attire of the groomsmen and the beautiful flowers that decorated the aisle. All in all, this was a classic wedding, and for a split second, Lana is envious, for this is the exact style of wedding that she would have planned, were it her walking down the aisle. Crossing her long legs, she places one hand on Larz’s thigh, and her other in his open palm, giving it a gentle squeeze. This was exciting! As they go over their mock backgrounds, she can’t help but giggle, and shake her head. She leans in, to reply in a heated whisper, mischief dancing in her dark eyes. “Why do -I- have to be a bank teller?! Do I look like I belong behind a desk, counting coins all day!?” She’s grinning from ear to ear, as she narrows her eyes, coming up with her own alias. “I’ll be Rowena Ergoth. Your… Wife.” She pauses, surprised that he had assumed they’d portray themselves as a married couple, when most men would run in the opposite direction. “My profession will be… Hm…. A romance novelist. I came across you peddling your wares, and I purchased some fancy parchment from you. You read one of my smutty scenes and decided to ask me on a date. I was hesitant… But you looked like one of my favorite characters and I accepted. So now we spend our days together, as I have gotten my fairytale. I retired about a year ago, after we adopted identical quadruplets. Their names are Eenie, Meanie, Miny, and Moe, they are hobbits, and when they aren’t in school, they go bowling with heads of cabbage. You are so indecisive, so you chose those names, plus, you spend your free time doing lame comedy acts. My guilty pleasure is chocolate, wine, and goat wrestling.” Lana falls silent as the music changes, and though most would turn to view the bride as she makes her entrance, the elf looks to where the groom is standing, anxiety etched into his features. And then she notes the change in his body language, the astonished smile on his face, as though he were seeing his bride for the first time and falling head over heels in love, all over again. It’s at this moment, that Lana begins to cry, literally tearing up over two complete strangers. She takes the handkerchief from Larz, and dabs daintily at her eyes, so not to disturb her make-up. The look of love on the groom’s face, the face that he had zeroed in on his soulmate and tuned out the rest of those gathered… -That- is the true definition of love, and that is her most favorite part of all weddings. She turns now, to observe the bride, bunching the cloth into her fist and lightly digging her nails into Larz’s thigh, as the draconian makes her way down the aisle. She was stunning! The dress was so lovely, and the train extends about ten feet behind, picking up rogue rose petals along the way, which only adds to this most magical of moments. As the couple joins hands, another tear trickles down her cheek, and she watches the couple clasp hands and share their final look, before they would be joined as husband and wife. She leans forward on bated breath as they exchange their vows, and as the ribbon is brought forth and the handfasting ceremony follows, she turns to look at Larz, her voice thick with emotion as she maintains a whisper. “They are doing a handfasting! That is the type of vows that were exchanged back in Kelvar… It’s for a year and one day, a promise before the God and Goddess, and at the end of that time, if the couple decides to remain together, the vow is cemented for all eternity. Otherwise, they are free to go their separate ways, and the bond is broken for all time.” The elf pauses, having eyes only for Larz now, and though she returns her gaze to the ceremony, she keeps giving him sidelong glances, as though trying to gauge his reaction on everything that is happening. All too soon the ceremony ends, and everyone rises to their feet to applaud the happy couple, the new Mr. and Mrs. Waters. Lana rises to her feet and claps, excited for these two happy strangers that have taken the next big step in their commitment and who would be continuing their love story. The woman that sits in front of her turns around and they exchange a smile, before she leans in and addresses Lana, directly. “You look so familiar… How are you related to the bride?” Lana pauses, exchanging a long look with Larz, as they hadn’t covered this point. “Oh! Are we on the bride’s side? I didn’t even notice. I had to leave the little ones with a sitter, and we arrived a few minutes late, which is why we sat in the back.” A feigned chuckle, though she’s so charming that the woman seems to be buying her story, and she asks about the ages of the littles ones, completely forgetting that she was asking just how they were related to the bride or groom. “We have been blessed with adopting not one, not two, not even three… But -four- identical hobbits! I’m so over the moon! They are only three years old, so they are a handful, let me tell you! Do you have any children?” She waits for an answer, before gushing some more about their imaginary kids, as she takes Larz by the hand. “Honey. The reception is starting. We don’t want to be late for that, either!” The sweetest of smiles is given to the stranger, who had become enamoured with the ‘new’ mother that Lana was claiming to be, and they exchange a parting wave as they walk around the lake to the reception.

Largakh liked her version of their fake story, so much so that during the entire ceremony he was silently chuckling, but he made it look like he was overcome with emotion by resting his brow in the curve of his hand. Once he gathered himself he just grins over at Lana, how was she so gorgeous, smart AND funny, but that doesn't even narrow it down. When she explains hand fasting to him Lana gets his entire attention, tuscan eyes looking far off into those dark eyes and it takes all his willpower not to kiss her in that moment which felt like it was much longer than reality. It wouldn't be very tasteful to make out during the ceremony! Once it's over and they stand, his hand placed at the small of her back to guide her to the isle and join the others, but they are sidetracked by a nosy lady with an avian husband. One hand kept around Lana, being a picture of a happy married couple, the other reached out and shook their hands, “yes, Eany, meany, Miney and Moe.” He shares some dad stories on how they will throw these mini tantrums and all he has to do is pretend to get hurt to get them to giggle and forget about whatever it was that upset them. Total proud daddy, but the moment was over and they are all being ushered to the reception. Entirely astonished by Lanara’s ability to finesse her way by the overweight ‘bouncer’ (really, he just seemed bouncy), but when you look like Lanara, you could get away with just about anything. Larz was amazed by the set up and since the reception was so large there wasn't really set seating other than immediate family and the wedding party so he pulls out a chair at an unassuming table for Lanara to sit first. Once he takes a seat he sees how the couple already seated eye them curiously, outstretched his hand for a shake, “How are you? Xargo Ergoth, this is my wife Rowena.” He places his arm around his fake wife, resting it on the back of her chair, “how do you two know the newlyweds?” He diverts the suspicion by having them answer questions of themselves until there was an announcement by the wedding party, food will be served and then the band will play after the bar opens up. Largakh makes a point to remind himself to drop some gold in their house fund - he didn't feel right about stealing their meal. A pair of ladies at the next table argue who is going to catch the bouquet while the plates are delivered, delicious salmon(or chicken) cooked on hickory wood planks, topped with dill next to a medley of sauteed vegetables and a twice baked potato. “Mm, Ro, honey, try the squash,” he speared one on his fork and offered it to her with a grin, “I think this is the same caterers from our wedding.” Cute couples feed each other right? The wait staff comes and fills the flutes with champagne and he leans in to whisper to Lana, “all we need is some strawberries, yeah?” He recalls to the date they had that made them official and now he's easily pretending this woman is his wife, but now the table was interested and they ask about the wedding, which he looks to Lana and says, “well, hun?” With a grin as she's put on the spot, he sits back, sips his champagne while drinking in her story. It was when she finished and mentioned how romantic his proposal was that she turned the spot in him and he nearly spit out his drink, but remained cool and collected. He got this far off look in his eye, there was a small crowd around their table now, he realizes, looking as if he was reminiscing so he could buy time. “I took her on one of our many hikes, passing up all the places we happened upon each other when we met until we reached that waterfall. You know, the one with a seventy foot drop? Yeah, I had tea lights and blue flower petals leading the way up to the top of the fall. We had one of our first dates there. On the way to the top told her how much she meant to me and not just the things she does for me, but the things I love about her as a person.” There were ‘aww’s cooing over the listeners, “we reached to top and I looked into those beautiful brown eyes,” to add to the story he looks to Lana now, “I said ‘la-love… My Ro’.” His grin was for her and his mess up, he almost forgot their ruse! “‘You've made me the happiest soul on this planet. You've made everything in my life easy while accepting all my flaws. I cannot think of my future without you in it and I want make this forever. Will you take one last plunge with me?’ and I took her hand,” Larz takes Lanas hand, “and I popped the question.” There was literal swooning and even the bride had joined in, tears in her eyes. “She was jumping up and down with such joy that we ended up tumbling into the water.” This got a chuckle and when everyone stood up to make their way to the dance floor, Larz was still holding Lanas hand, “let's show them what we are made of… Ro.” He winks, but they are stopped by the bride and groom of which give hugs and handshakes, asking how they've managed to stay in this honeymoon phase?! They also hope they can last forever after mentioning that ‘Rowena and Xargo’ seem they will last to the end of time. Once they are alone again he plants a kiss on Lana’s forehead and mentioned, “come on. We must tear it up,” he nods toward the dance floor if she's ready…

Lanara bites the inside of her cheek as Larz discusses his parenting with another couple, and those -awful- names of their ‘children’ make it so hard for her to keep a straight face, yet somehow, she maintains her composure. She’s proud of her man, and the way he jumps right into the story, even making up a moment where Little Moe had drank from the dog’s water bowl, and how he had to explain that big boys were meant to drink from glasses and not from a bowl on the floor. And then he re-entered the kitchen to find that Moe and Sparky were both sipping from a large glass, as they were ‘big boys’ which sends the couple into a fit of giggles. Lana shakes her head, chuckling along, and her eyes dance with amusement, as she nuzzles her forehead against Larz’s thick bicep. As the couple steps away, she gives his arm a gentle squeeze. “Nice one, Xargo. You make it easy to be your wife.” A wink is given, before she lowers herself into an offered chair, and exchanges pleasantries with those at their table. Barton, the businessman at the table, asks about their wedding and she quirks a brow, immediately taking the lead. “Oh! It was magnificent! Xargo and I were married when the circus came to town! A magician had asked for a volunteer and after putting me into these tiny boxes, he proceeded to slice me in half, however, there was a small box that I had to slip through, so the crowd assumed that I had been diced to tiny bits! The compartment was opened and I was nowhere to be seen, as the assistant had moved me backstage… But Xargo, being as protective as he is… Well, he asked the poor magician to battle him to the death! He had thought that his magic trick went too far and that he lost his lady love. Things became heated, and I quickly slipped out from behind the curtain and looked at Xargo, and we sort of just locked eyes, and knew that this was it. We -had- to marry, right then and there. He had imagined his life without me… And he couldn’t go another day without ensuring that I was his… His Only. So, we found a clown, who also was a licensed officiant, and we were married that evening, at the circus. It was… So special… Right, honey? Why don’t you tell them about your proposal?” Taking a bite of the salmon she practically purrs from the taste, and delves into the dish, making small talk with those at the table, before Larz does the unthinkable and offers her a bite of his squash, mentioning the ‘caterers’ from their wedding. She’s caught off guard for a moment, so she leans in and takes the obligatory bite, her lips slowly sliding off the fork, as she meets his tuscan gaze. “Mmmm.” A faint flush rises to her cheeks as he recites their mock proposal, and she quickly diverts her gaze. This was hitting just a little too close to home. He had literally used one of their recent dates and combined it with this charade. Lana is somewhat nervous now, as she lifts her glass and takes a long sip, gathering her thoughts, before the bride nears their table and starts to listen in. What if she blew their cover?! Lifting her head to look at Larz, she looks as though she were a deer caught in headlights, until the bride, with tears in her eyes, pulls the elf in for a quick hug. “Oh. Um.” Lana wraps her arms around the stranger, gently patting her on the back, and smiling. “You look so beautiful. Your husband is such a lucky man and you are so so so very lucky to have someone that loves you as much as he does. I could see it in the way that he looked at you as you were walking down the aisle…” Having regained her composure, she pulls back, and points to Larz. “He looks at you the way my -husband- Xargo looks at me! Have you met? I’m pretty sure I introduced you when we were at Cousin Alice’s party a few years ago. We -finally- tied the knot two years ago. I can’t believe I haven’t seen you in so long. We must do lunch soon, as soon as you get back from your honeymoon.” A peck on the cheek is given to Jessera, and she resumes eating her meal, a wicked grin on her face. They had duped the newlyweds, and those at their table, at least for now! The table to their left has a few women feuding over who is going to catch the bouquet, and Lana narrows her eyes on them, her competitive nature creeping in, and she gets their attention. “Oh! Dolls! Don’t fret. -I- am going to catch it!” Naturally, being that they are ‘married’ she would have no business on the floor trying to catch a bouquet, but she couldn’t help breaking up their little squabble. She’s amused by their glares! Rising to her feet as Larz asks her to dance, she smiles and takes his hand, as several couples step into a waltz. “How good is your ballroom dancing, Xar? Shall I school you, or would you prefer to just hold me tight and sway to the tune? I’m fine with whatever you’d like to do. Nothing can top our circus wedding, our four hobbit children, or your waterfall proposal, after all…”

Largakh had corrected the word ‘asked’ with a humorous tone, “demanded!” To the part of Lana’s story where he challenged the magician to a death duel. His correction got a light chuckle from their listeners and then they made a good impression on the newly weds, but it was when they were on the floor when Larz took the lead, “I’m decent.” His feet lead them in a simple line of steps, his hand at the small of her back and pulls her close while the other takes her hand and holds it close to his chest. Looking down at her like she was the only thing around and nothing else mattered. He sends her out in a twirl and when he pulls her in, her back is against him and they sway like this for a moment before another spin brings her face to face at the end again, but he dips her. Ballet and tap? He’s pitiful, sure, but some ballroom dancing he was decent. They were gaining an audience once more and this goes unnoticed by Larz as the music picks up, but -really- in a couple’s dance it’s the women that steal the show while the men are just the steady variable. He lets Lanara do her thing as the professional dancer to give these strangers a show they will never forget and at one point he whispers to Lana, “should we do the lift?” A minute later, “let's do the lift.” They survey the area and it’s clear, so when she breaks away the spectators gasp in curiosity… It’s time and when she comes at him, he's ready - cemented in their trust he lifts her up on perfect queue and hold her high up, shifts his hands as she’s instructed and then oh so slowly brought her back down to the ground while making eye contact the entire way. When her toes touch the ground the group cheers as Larz plants a deep kiss on Lana, but the claps slowly come into focus and he remembers where they are. With a grin he stands aside and bows deeply to Lana, giving her the credit for the wonderful dance- there is more clapping. He pulls his ‘wife’ in under his arm, “I’m thirsty, how about you? You were fantastic, but you know that.” A wink.

Lanara rolls her eyes as Larz claims that he’s ‘decent’ on the dance floor. She had seen him in that leotard, and he wasn’t the most graceful of ballerina’s! The elf eats her words as he looks at her in that way, as though she were the only woman in the room, and there were some pretty single bridesmaids only twenty feet to their left! She had noticed. But he seemed to only have eyes for her, and she can’t help but smile. She’s just as captivated by him, and seems to naturally ignore the many men that are turning their heads to take a gander at her as she walks past, towards the dancefloor. Immediately, her hand is placed in his, and her other rests on his shoulder, as they lock eyes and gracefully glide over the floor. Her slender hips gently sway, when the music allows, and her form is flawless. Larz, also, seems to know what he’s doing, and she tilts her head to the side as shes twirled back into his arms, locking her gaze onto his, “So. Let me guess… Theo and Seldanna showed you how to dance? Or… You have a penchant for attracting dance instructors?” Her voice is just above a whisper, for his ears only, and as he responds with a dip, she dramatically extends her arms back, trusting that he will not let her fall. There’s a round of applause, and as she’s brought back into her position and he mentions the lift, she hesitates. The waltz didn’t call for a lift, and she didn’t want to outdo the bride and groom on their special day, though they didn’t seem to mind, and were enjoying the show. Lana is happy to oblige, once seeing that the coast is clear, and she sways her hips, twists to the right, and glides towards the left, before dramatically pirouetting back his way, and giving a nod, as he agrees to do a lift. Twirling away from Larz, her dress fluttering upwards to show off her shapely thighs, she spins until she’s about twenty feet away, and then runs towards him, praying that her three-inch heels wouldn’t fail her, and as she leaps into his arms and is lifted, she extends her arms, lifts her head, and smiles. She always felt free when she was with this man, and he had never pressured her into anything. Larz held her in his arms, and allowed her freedom, all at once. -This- was the definition of a compatible couple. This was… Love? Mentally she’s telling herself to stop overthinking, and as the audience continues their applause and she’s lowered into his arms, she presses her lips to his in a tender kiss, once more feeling free, and lost, and oh so infatuated, all at once. “Thanks for the dance!” As he bows, she scoffs and swats at his arm, rolling her eyes, and pointing towards him, as though he was the true star of that dance. She would not take all the credit. They were partners, after all. A few girls, likely in their teens, are fanning themselves, eyeing the half-orc with newfound appreciation, and as they make their way to the bar, one of them, a little blonde, interrupts. “Hi.” Bashful, those big blue eyes are lowered to the ground. “Um. Can I have a dance?” Lana grins, unable to hide her smile, and she gives Larz a gentle elbow and a nod. If her ‘husband’ wished to dance with this young girl, he was free to do so, as she was only a shy child, hoping to dance with a handsome prince. “Xargo. I’m going to grab a drink. I’ll meet you at the bar?” Her fingers trail down his bicep, and she leaves him to either accept or deny the girl, as she places an order for a water with lemon, feeling drunk on emotions and not quite needing to add liquor to the mix. A man approaches a minute later, handsome in a rugged way, and asks her for a dance, though she politely declines. “I would. But my husband? Well… That magician still hasn’t quite recovered after his threat… I am flattered. But, no thank you, Sir.”

Largakh had noticed something else entirely on the way to the bar, the bride, going to have a chat with her family members and he tries to tune in to what she was talking about while glancing at him. The shy teen approached and he was still trying to glance around her and then he’s being nudged, “what?” A glance to the pretty little girl and he held his elbow out for the girl to take before taking her away, but not to the dance floor - to one of the many young suitors on the side. He found one that didn’t look related to her and was around her age, made up some story that she was too shy to ask him to dance and she was off his hands. Alarm bells were going off as he picked up words from the wedding party of ‘cousin Alice?’ They are on to the lie and he was near Lana again which was enough to send the short rugged guy onto a new target. A quirk of his brow at the guy, “what was that about?” Larz is far from the jealous type and he wouldn't care of she had a proper dance with someone because it’s her livelihood. That would be like if she got mad at him for protecting people, “Ro, my love. I think we forgot to leave the medicine for Moe with the sitter,” if she were to look to him he would glance towards the wedding party who were starting to put the pieces together. Larz narrowed his gaze over the bar tender’s shoulder and asks a question to distract him, but once he turned Larz lifted a bottle of champagne before lazing Lanara’s fingers in his as he held her hand to lead the way to the exit as fast as they can. On the way he dropped gold into the newlywed’s ‘house fund’ box. “Hey!” Is heard behind them and Larz lowers to a knee before Lana with his back to her, “hurry, hop on!” He was still grinning! And once Lana mounts him he takes off in an impressive spring into the woods - taking turns and twists and if she didn’t know better she might wonder if they were lost, but soon enough she would start to recognize some of the barely worn tracks that surround his grandparents’ cabin. They continue and have long lost anyone chasing them down while he made their way, her still on his back, through the shortcut to Gualon… Soon enough they were back at the deplorable apartments and he set her down, “that was really fun. Did you still want to stay up all night talking?” He nodded toward the door to this apartment that was behind her and popped open the champagne before giving her his keys so she can decide where she wants this night to go.

Lanara takes a sip of her water, making small talk with the barmaid, before she finds that Larz is back at her side. So soon? She looks to his left and right, as though wondering where the little girl had disappeared to, as the last she saw, they were going to dance. The elf hadn’t witnessed the exchange from Larz to a boy closer to her age, and she’s about to comment when he asks about the man that had asked her to dance. “Oh, him? He asked if you were single! He said he never saw an orc cut it up quite like that on the dance floor, and he was super impressed!” She winks, pulling his chain, and then tilts her head to the side. “Are you jealous?” She’d find it rather exciting if he were to be possessive of her, though she follows her inquiry in a softer tone, “He asked me for a dance. And I politely declined. It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to dance with another man while my handsome husband is in the same room, right? Plus…” Lowering her voice, she leans in, her breath on his ear. “I’m a retired writer, not a dance instructor, hm? And I think he was asking more along the lines of a ‘date’ and not so much for a lesson.” Leaning back, she thinks he’s playing along with their story again about one of their four children, and she joins right in, clearly not getting the hint that their cover was blown. “Moe? No, honey! You mean Meanie!” An exaggerated eye roll is given, as she shakes her head, the barmaid amused by their lover’s spat. “How can you keep confusing our bundles of joy?! They aren’t even the same gender. I know, my love… We said after a dozen we would cut back on adopting, but we are only eight away from our goal, and you really need to start telling them apart. And yes… Meanie needs her medicine for her obsessive compulsive disorder. I will never understand why she feels the need to juggle walnuts for HOURS, and when you try and take them away, after they’ve rotted, it throws her into a seizure! I’m really starting to worry…” A pause, and she grins as she sips at her water again, though as Larz doesn’t return their little charade and he motions to the crowd gathering in the corner, she follows his gaze. Oh dear. They’ve been discovered as imposters! The bride is wildly gesticulating as she talks to her father, and after a moment of this, the elf slides from her chair and gives Larz a nod. He snatches a bottle from the rack while the barmaid is distracted and they walk hand in hand towards the exit, though Lana is now pouting and giving him those sad eyes. “I wanted to see the bouquet toss, and the cutting of the cake!” And then, there is shouting, and a few members of the bridal party are at their backs, anger visible in their expressions. She drops his hand, and turns around, smiling apologetically, and motioning to Larz. “I’m so sorry! But we have to leave! Xargo had a little bit of an accident, in his pants, so we have to head home so that he can change.” She’s trying to stall, so that Larz can at least escape this madness, which was all her idea. She didn’t want the man to get into any trouble. The groom isn’t buying her story, though he gives a shrug, eyeing the witch up and down. “Let em stay, what’s the big deal?” The bride, however, isn’t as forgiving, and she socks her new husband in the arm, leaning in to whisper heated words in his ear. Lana, had enough, and turns to see if Larz had flown the coop, only to find that he’s now knelt on the ground and urging her to hop on for a piggy-back ride. “Um.” Hesitant, she obliges, knowing that she couldn’t exactly dash through the woods in heels, and that the wedding party would be in hot pursuit. Once situated on his back, she clings to his shoulders and wraps her legs around his waist, careful not to poke his thighs or groin with the heels of her shoes. The Rolafir’s home comes into view, and she thinks that he will now put her on the ground, though he turns down another path, and literally walks her all the way to Gualon. She giggles most of the way there, and she’s pleased that he isn’t too winded from the trek, and her added weight, so as he lowers her to the ground, she finds that they are at his apartment. “Thanks for the ride.” Grinning, they walk into the building and towards his quarters, where she is handed the key. She’s already inserting it into the lock as he’s opening the champagne, and she giggles, her cheeks flooded with color from their great escape. “I can’t believe we did that! It was so much fun! We should do this next weekend, too, as it’s the perfect season for a wedding. I’m sure there will be lots more… And, look at you! Opening the bubbly in the hallway?!” She opens the door and steps inside, closing it behind the two of them, and locking it, as she meets his gaze. “What are we celebrating? Our first wedding crash? Our escape to good old Gualon?” Dropping the keys onto his card table, she undoes the clips in her hair, completely demolishing the elegant updo and letting her hair fall in waves. Tucking a lock behind a tapered ear, she sits on the sofa, and undoes the straps to her heels, before kicking them off. “Well… That was the idea. I mean, I can go if you have other plans… I didn’t mean to invite myself over.” A sheepish grin is given, as she awkwardly reaches for the shoe that she had literally just kicked off, in case he wanted her to leave.

Largakh was chuckling in tandem to her giggling, “as long as you're there, I know it will be a blast.” She disappears into the darkness of his crappy apartment and he follows, lights the lanterns and gets them a couple of cups for their stolen drink after locking the door behind them. He loosens the tie he had on and undoes a couple buttons before bringing her some of the champagne, but moves her shoes out of her reach with a swift sweep of his foot, “of course I want you to stay. Invite yourself over any time you wish. You even can take a spare key for all I care,” a grin for her as he waited for those gears to turn in her head, but maybe she trusts him by now. “There is something I've been meaning to mention. Earlier that night, the one where I walked you to the beach, I was recruited to join up with this organization for some side work as hired security…” He would go on to tell her how conflicting his decision was to join the steel collective, but he thought about the good as well. Like donating more, getting a bigger place (wink, wink), taking her on vacation some day and he gets to choose the type of work, so maybe it won't be all bad. Knowing these two they would stay up, drink and talk until the sun came up between kisses and foot rubs all the while reminiscing of their wild adventure for the day.
