RP:Unwanted Memories

                                ==Red Ogre Inn==

You are surprised to say the least when you enter this room. From the outside, the Inn looked friendly, but a bit run down and certainly nothing like this. A marble counter is at the opposite end of the room, behind it a middle aged, cheerful looking man stands. He has a guest book, bound in red leather in front of him, and a peacock quill in his hand. A giant stands next to the counter, most likely to carry your bags and to dispose of any troublemakers. Lavish red carpets furnish the marble floor, and gleaming white pillars support the roof. Lining every wall are long luxurious couches with expensive looking polished metal armrests. Scattered all around the inn are small circular tables with marble tabletops around which are well-crafted wooden chairs. These tables have been placed at a decent distance from others allowing a comfortable sense of privacy for those sitting and conversing at them. Some of the chairs are empty but many are filled with patrons of the inn and a few locals who have popped in for a drink or meal. A few potted plants are placed around to add a bit more color. To the east, through two large mahogany doors, is the paved road.

Stryker grows frustrated with the inn keeper of the Red Ogre, the Minotaur releasing a snort from his snout before slamming his fist into the counter top and shouting once more in accusation to the employee. "Don't tell me any more damned lies, you cheery kook! My bloody kin said he saw the scoundrel come in this building late in the eve and he hasn't departed! If you're harboring the poor bastard then may whatever god you follow have mercy on your soul! Now I'll ask you again, where is he?!" The giant by the counter would rise from his seat and stare down to Stryker in warning. Emerald greens are quick to meet the challengers and a guttural growl emits from rasp vocals; "Don't even think about it stretch..." The giant raises a brow and shifts his gaze between the inn keeper, Stryker and the small white rat that is rested on the Minotaur's shoulder munching on a small piece of bread. The inn keeper dismisses the giant in an attempt to maintain peace and resumes insisting he is unaware of the culprit Stryker seeks whereabouts.

Mythayus walked into the tavern he was tired and well depressed. He had hoped the talk with his brother would have ease his troubled mind, but it didnt. It only made things worse. His attention was broken by the shouting minotaur. As sheriff it was his job to keep the peace. Though he hadnt taken that responsibility back from his deputy yet. He approached the minotaur. His royal blue eye focused on the minotaur, "Excuse me a...Kind... Sir. I'd like it very much if you'd stop harassing my bar keep. If there is something wrong perhaps you'd like to take it up with me." He gave a warm smile but his eyes were shooting the minotaur a warning.

Javier's arrival is preluded by the release of a tremendous spiritual aura. The magically- inclined would feel the divine origin, while those not attuned with magic would just feel a tremendous pressure. A few in the tavern shift uncomfortably, while others have already come to know this feeling, and feel secure knowing it is so near. Eyes turn towards the door as it opens, and the man known as the Lion of Larket, makes his way inside. He seems a bit different now. His once longer hair cut short. His beard a little more fully grown out, yet still kept up. His seems, bigger, in retrospect. As his intense training has gained him more muscle mass, to counter his usual leaner build. And, as yet another change. Gone is the broadsword and shield, and strapped upon his back is a large, thick bladed greatsword that travels the length of his entire frame, leaving only five inches from the tip to the floor. Indeed, even though a sweeping cloak conceals the majority of him from view, the paladin of Arkhen seems a bit more impressive than he did before. Those eyes of his, forever more tinted-gold due to the celestial powers that flow within him, peer out into the crowd. They fall upon the minotaur, the sheriff, the giant and then back to the minotaur. Word had reached the Knight-Commander, it seems the local tribe seeks someone, and trouble was brewing, for this minotaur was not the only out and about Larket, searching for someone. Confident steps take the man towards the bar, where he asks upon his arrival. " What seems to be the issue here, sheriff?" He stood six foot three, an impressive height for a human. But even he had to still look up at the minotaut standing before him, but he did so without the slightest bit of fear in his eyes. The tribe and Larket have an allience. Javier will nto see it so easily broken.

Emilia was dressed her in normal attire of leather boots with denim pants tucked neatly away inside of them, fitting to her slender legs so perfectly. Her blue plaid shirt was tied up between her breasts revealing the toned tanned stomach of the woman along with a series of black lines on her left hip, a tattoo perhaps. Golden blonde curls a tangled mess around her from a day of working at the farm. In her arms she carried a crate of berries that she intended to drop off at the Inn before heading back to the farm. As she entered, just behind Javier, she found herself a little uncomfortable with the minotaur and his actions in general. Instead, she moved off toward another part of the Inn to drop off the crate so she could avoid the beast and then turn to head out just as quick as she had come in. Seems Javier and the sheriff were both busy, no need to bother either of them.

Javier turns to faced Emilia, as she makes her way towards her seat, and says. " A package for you, is waiting at the bar." He never takes his eyes off the minotaur. He trusts that the warrior is much like his people, and that he seeks justice. For him to even be here, means that someone did something vile to his people. Again, to Emilia he says. " I think it best for you to get the gift, and head home for a bit, I am probably going to be busy."

Emilia offered a warm smile toward Javier as he had indeed noticed her even though she had tried to keep out of sight. Careful movements lead her to the bar to pick up said package that was waiting for her before she made her way to the man. A kiss was planted to his cheek before she would take his words to heart and head home to the farm. "See you there?" She asked without really asking, but telling him.

Javier smiles and nods to the woman, before he returns his attention to the task at hand. He does say to the woman. " Dinner then, your place?"

Stryker is quick to turn and face Mythayus' the minotaur sizing up the sheriff and offering him a similar look provided to the inn keeper, a statement that he did not fear a mere law keeper. As his maw is peeled apart and he readies to unleash a fury of accusations he is cut short by the arrival of Javier, his gaze shifting to focus upon the paladin with intent. The beast quick to provide a once over to the heavily armed man as he intrudes and provides a small exchange with the weak looking farm girl who makes it clear she wishes to take no part in the on goings of the tavern. As she makes her exit he would refocus his attention to the duo before him, now ignoring the inn keeper allowing him some relaxation visible by his shoulders falling. "You're damn right we've got a problem here! This lad is harboring one of the dark elves occupying the forest outside the city limits!" An elongated finger sticks towards the once again frantic keeper. Stryker slides a hoof against the floor before stomping it in frustration. "These cowardly dark skins have been poaching the wildlife -AND- innocents that pass through the forests thick! My tribe and I have been patrolling the best we can to keep this menace from causing more harm to the woodland and come to find they are laying their head to rest right here in the damn city!" Another snort that sends a bit of snot flying towards Mythayus is presented as fists clinch and the Minotaur glares between the two. "I won't stand for this! We will tear the place board by board if we have too Paladin!" He addresses Javier, the spiritual beast able to recognize his mana signature despite his bloodline not carrying a drop.

Mythayus takes a deep breath but keep his smile even as snot is sent his way. "Even if there is a dark elf here.. Do you really think they'd still be here after all the yellin you've been doing? If have a problem like this call myself or one of the gaurds or deputies, thats what there here for. We couldve handled this in a more... civil fashion. Though i doubt they will still be here i'd be more than happy to search each room. There is no need to disassemble anything. I assure you. Now if you'd calm down i'm sure the bar keep will assist us in any way he can." Myth shoots the keep a glare, as saying if the minotuar was telling the truth, there would be hell to pay.

Javier has called Larket his home since he was born, he knows this place and the majority of its people very well. Telling him that Thomas was harboring a drow almost brought a smile to the man's face. Almost. Thomas would never harbor anyone who would have harmed a fellow Larketian. And such, the paladin raises his hand, to silence both the minotaur and the sheriff. " If, and it is a mighty big if, there is a drow here, we shall find them, and escort them to the boarder. If, they are attacking our people, be it minotaur of Larketians, it will be dealt with, on that you have my word." To Mythayus he says. " Have your deputy tag along with a few knights, search the tavern top to bottom." To Stryker, the man says. " You know you, and your people, are welcome in town, but such actions are an insult to the pact we have with the tribe. We do not go into your territory, and muscle our way around, do we? No. We do not. The chief should have come to us, and we would have acted. For now, you are to stand down, enjoy a drink, and let us handle the law within Larket. Or you can return home. Those are your two choices." Most Larketians liked the minotaurs. Hell, children would venture out into the forest, knowing it was safer because of Jonn, and the tribe. But this, this was unprecidented, and just insulting. Javier did not know what was up, but he sensed a greater issue lurks beneath the surface of this encounter.

Stryker narrows his gaze and moves between Mythayus and Javier, the minotaur contemplating his next move wisely. His every intention was to pull the axe resting by his side and start splintering every single door within the Red Ogre Inn in an attempt to find the drow, he knows is lurking within. But after a moments thought he finds the wiser decision to allow the law keepers to handle their business as needed. His long tongue offers a quick lap against his pierced septum before he lowers his head in a bow. He had no respect for the law officer nor the paladin and he found their slow method of reaction a disgrace. However, he would admire their willingness to hear him out and obvious dedication to finding the culprit. "As you wish Paladin. I will return to the woodland." His emerald hues lock with Javiers', "But the point remains. I will follow, find and kill any drow that venture through the wood. This includes into the streets. You're right in declaring respect for the pact, I only hope you lot are keeping up your end of the bargain." Turning to Mythayus he nods once more; "If you find him. I request he be brought to us, this is a matter of the forest, -not- the city." Tapping the hilt of his axe on the ground three times the Minotaur turns to face the bar keep and nods once more; "If I am mistaken, which I am not, I apologize for the intrusion." The beast then makes his way to the entrance of the inn and escapes into the night retreating back to the forest.

Mythayus continued his smile, "Very well." he responded to the minotaur. Which he the gave a loud high pitched whistle. At which several deputies came running, including Jason. Myth let out a sigh, " Alright, we need to find a drow said to be lurking somewhere in this area, Presumed somewhere here in the tavern. We are gonna search here. Once that is done i want you to search the area then, the whole city. You got it?" He turned to start searching. "Now lets go!"

Javier watches as the minotaur leaves, and as Mythayus goes about ordering the search. After this is done, the paladin turns that gaze to Thomas. He has known this man all his life. He believes he would not harbor a killer of his own people, at least not willingly. That golden stare of Arkhen's champion burns into the barkeep. For now, the man simply seems to think to himself, as he awaits Mythayus' report on the search of the tavern.

Mythayus searched the tavern high and low if there was someone here, they're long gone. Mythayus sighs knowing that he was right and that there were no drow in the tavern. He then sent his men to begin they're search of the city, before he walks back to the bar. As the deputies were leaving to start the man hunt myth calls, "Good job, Jason. Keep it up."He looks to Javier. "No sign of a drow in the tavern, but of course we both knew there wouldnt be."

Javier said to you, "The drow would not openly attack, unless it was a rogue. And with no proof, I shall not bother the Archmage, Tiphareth, with such nonsense. Many may not like it, but there is a mutual respect that lingers still due to Tiphareth and Jacklin's... well, their own respect for one another. Keep a vigilant eye, but keep one on that minotaur as well. It seems he likes trouble."

Mythayus nods, "I will," He turn to look javier up and down since this is the first time, he gotten to notice the knight change into paladinhood. He smiles and jokingly speaks, "Looking good." He turns to thomas, "Sorry i didnt back sooner. Perhaps we could work on a system to let me or my deputies know when your in trouble. but we'll save that conversation for another day. I like a drink... preferably the strongest you got. "

Javier has indeed undergone changes within the past couple of weeks, due in part to his intese training both physically and spiritually. It seems he has been granted power, as he has increased strength, endurance, agility and speed. The exact limits of these increased physical attributes has yet to be seen, but he has tested them somewhat. As far as any actual abilities, aside from his aura, which he is learning to control, he has only seen a small portion of. He hopes, that in time, he can find out what exactly he is capable of. But, until then, he trains. He looks to Thomas and says. " Put it on my tab, old friend." Before he looks to Mythayus and says. " So, tell me sheriff. Do you enjoy it here? Do you think you can call Larket your home?"

Mythayus looks to Javier, "Of course, It become my home the more, i am acepted. The more people can see that i am trying to fix what i've wronged. You know? This is a beautiful city and has the potential tobe so much more as long the effort is put forth to make her better. She reminds me very much of the city of my childhood." His voice got shaky towards the end.

Javier said to you, "You never really speak of then. Your childhood. But, if it is a matter you wish not to, then I understand. As well, the city is not the only one who sees your are really trying. I knew, deep down, you would be the best man for this job. And even in light of all you have faced, you've remained strong. You have earned my respect, sheriff."

Mythayus smiled at Javier, "You'll never know how much that means to me." He paused, " My home was destroyed, a long time ago, 192 years to be exact. I havent...i've been afraid to call somewhere else home ever since. And now i fear i may lose my brother for good. I know he has done wrong by the city, but he is still my friend and i worry about him." He could feel the liquid starting to form, and quickly shook his head. and had a content smile, "Sorry about that" he spoke in his normal happy go lucky manner.

Javier said to you, "It means you are a good man, and a good brother. That man, Alphonz, has done terrible things. But, he is still your brother. I will never tell you to sever any bonds you have, nor penalize you because of his actions. You are your own man. Free to do as you wish. You took an oath, when you took this job, to protect it and its people and enforce its laws. To bring justice, and fight injustice. So long as you keep that promise, you will find Larket always welcoming you, and even protecting you. And you will be as family here. I am sorry to hear about your home. I truly am. But, I am honored to call you a brother in arms, as well as my friend."

Mythayus gave a true smile, " I'm not loosing him in the since of severing ties with him, He's being consumed by the void, everytime he uses his powerful shadow magic, he loses a bit of himself to the void." He closes his eyes, "I admire ..." He was interrupted by the tavern door swinging open and a man covered in dust walking in panting heavily, he was holding a small box, also cover in dust. The man was clearly human. "I...I...I'm looking for....a man....known as...Myth...ayus..." The man passed out.

Javier looks over to the man as he enters, and turns to Mythayus as he hears him call his name, and says. " I'll let you handle this one.." With a smirk.

Mythayus blinks for a few moments before standing up and walking over to the passed out man. Knelt down next to him and gently checked to see if he was infact still breathing and had a heart beat. After confirming both. He picks the man up and lays him down in a booth. "Javier would you mind bring some water over here." He then walked back and picked up the small box, on it, it said 'MYTHAYUS' nothing more nothing less.

Javier nods and brings over a glass of water, the closer he gets, the stronger he senses it. A holy feeling coming from the box, as if whats inside has been blessed by a god. He raises a brow, but seeing as no threat, as of yet, is aparent, he hands the sheriff the water and waits.

Mythayus walks back over to the man and takes the water from Javier. He take a rag from his bag, dipping it in to the water. He gently starts to pat it on the man head trying to bring some form of conscientiousness back. After a few moments the man begin to stir. He shoots up and looks at the two men standing before him. His voice was hoarse from lack of moisture, "Are....either....of....you....Mythayus...?" He coughed from the lack of moisture in his mouth. Myth nodded, "I'm am, called Mythayus. But before you speak anymore, let me get you a fresh glass of water." He walks over to the bar and get a small glass of water. After all myth knew his mouth was dry and didnt know how long it had been since the man had water. He didnt want to make him sick by giving him to much.

Javier watches what goes on with interest, his eyes stay upon the mysterious package.

The man eagerly drinks the water just as myth thought he would. The man coughs again, The man smiles, "Good I finally found you! I'm an archaeologist, and i was doing some digging around the fallen city of Gristal. I found that box. It has your name on. Are you really Mythayus? If you are then you'd have tobe over 200 years old..." The man watched Mythayus not truely believing this was the man he was looking for after he looked way to young. Myth tilled his head, none of this was making any since to him. "I am over 200 years old, i am infact 213 years old. Gristal? Where is that? A box for me?" The confusion was apparent in Myth's voice.

Javier turns to Mythayus, knowing that this will pain him, as he seems to know only fragments, from what he has said. He continues watching. Listening. Wondering.

Mythayus swallows, and closes his eyes, "I...I...Gristal..." was that the city's name. "I dont know, if that was the my home name! I was the Adopted son, of the head of the order of knight i was from. Both were destroyed... I was not there the day they were destroyed i was helping a farm, a 3 day journey away from the city. When i returned they were both gone. The city was nothing but burnt rubble, and was littered with the bodies of the knights. I was the only survivor." His voice stern and not like his normal voice. "I buried them all were i believed the graved yard was. I found my adoptive mother, still cling on to life, She died in my arms, the only thing i remember her telling me,was what she said then, 'Do not let what you are, change who you are.' Which bring me to your next question I have lived for so long because i am a dragon." He looked down almost ashamed to admit that, thats what he was.

Javier moves over, and places his hand upon Myth's shoulder, his aura offering a calming sensation. The gesture hopefully allowing the man to rear in his emotions, and gain the strength to continue.

The man was shocked to say the least. "I think were talking about the same place....Well, i'm not gonna ask you anymore questions for the moment. Seeing as how well upset you are...." It was clear the man was slight scared of Mythayus now that he knew Myth was infact a dragon. "Well, Mythayus, i actually came here to see if you could open this box, well not this box, i'm mean the chest inside it, we had our mages try and break the magical lock, barrier thing, not really sure. Well they couldnt and said i should try finding descendants of this mythayus. So here give it a shot." He opened the box and pulled a small silver chest. In draconic etched in the top is said 'Mythayus.' The chest radiated with a holy aura. Javier's aura and hand helped calm myth for a moment, before he saw the chest. "That's My mothers!" He spoke angrily. The man coward away fearing he may receive a taste of the imfamous dragon rage.

Javier clentches his friends shoulder, as he says in a calm voice. " Ease your rage. For it will consume you. Move always forward, and never dwell in the past, lest it stifle the present, and change the future." He was speaking of his friend letting go, for now, of the bad things in his past, and trying to figure out what is going on now, so he can move forward in his life, into a brighter future.

Mythayus closed his eyes and took a breath, he always tried very hard not to get angry, but this man was pushing alot of the right buttons to set myth off. "I'm sorry, I will try to open it, I will let you know this, i am no mage, that was my mother. She studied the ancient dragon magic, along with human magic. I am only magical because of my dragon blood. So i dont know how i will be able to help." Myth took another deep breath. The man was shocked that Javier was one not afraid of the dragon standing next to him and was able to calm the dragon down to apologize. The man finally spoke shaking the admiration for Javier away. "They think it just needs your aura...Not really sure, to open it." Mythayus walks up to the small silver chest. He stares at it for a moment for before gently lifting the top. Sure enough it opened with no issues. Before anyone could look and see what was in it Myth already had everything out. "MY AMULET!!!" In his left hand he had a clearly broken amulet. and in his right hand 2 scrolls. As myth touched the chest the holy aura seemed to go into Mythayus, signifying that it was infact for myth and only myth.

Javier looks at his friend, Mythayus as he walks over to the chest, and is glad to see the holy aura about it all welcomed him. It was a good sign. The man looks to the stranger, and examines him. How did such a man come about such a rare treasure? He wonders. But for now, he simply smiles and is glad his friend is ok.

Mythayus starts smiling, "I havent seen this thing since..." He looked down. "Since i almost killed my father... He's the one who broke it...after he broke it i lost it and almost killed him. He had me knight then sent me away to that farm..." He clutched the amulet to his chest. "Why did i want to be a knight so badly, if i had just waited, none of this would have happened. My father would have been strong enough to fight against the dragon that attack the city. I would have been their to help. Some knight i was..." He took another deep breath only letting a single tear fall. The stood up, well i'm gonna leave you two alone now i still have alot of research to do. He realized that getting those item away from the dragon was going tobe easy and would have to figure something out. He'd start to try to leave.

Javier said to you, "Is the amulet just for show? Or does it do something? And the scrolls?"

Mythayus shrugged, "I've had this amulet for as far as i can remember past it being broken. When it was broken, it felt like i was consumed by anger and rage and was given an extreme amount of Strength. I was always the strongest of all the squires. But i was never strong enough to hurt my father. Until he broke it. So maybe it was?" He looked to the scrolls he opened the first and it looked to have weird markings and weird designs, and the wrods made no since to the man. "Well i cant read the one it has weird markings on it." He held it out for Javier to take and look for himself. He then opened, the other scroll, "It's a note written to me by my mother." Tears started to fell his eyes as he began reading it. If javier was to look at the words it was all written in draconic. As were most of the words in the other scroll as well.

Javier said to you, "We can have Lydrain take a look at all this, if you'd like. For now, I must go. Emilia is waiting on me, and I have a few other duties to see too before I call it a night."
