RP:Two Drow, and Triple Prizes

From HollowWiki

Gevurah and Lanlan, set off towards the door in attempt to kidnapp a Razurath but manage to make off with three, while of course they do leave one behind, but they got two for the price of one.

Part of the Saurian Onslaught Arc

The Cathabraka Door:

Gevurah and Lanlan met at the D’Artes stables. The priestess traded in her robes and full skirts for a more practical outfit: a modified qipao, black with blood red embroidery, with large slits on either side of her legs to allow a free range of movement. She wore black leather pants beneath the dress for riding. Because the mission calls for stealth, Gevurah also wears her Piwafi of the Shadows, a drow cape enchanted to make her look like a shadow when activated. The stables have prepared a black and stone purple lizard for the matron. Lanlan surely has his own ride (if not, he can borrow a riding lizard, but with much shame for being such a scrub). Gevurah also expects Lanlan to bring their bait - he had said he has a disposable mage on hand. None of Gevurah’s entourage will join them. The route the drow will take will circumvent Craughmoyle proper, briefly enter the deep dwarven mines, then climb back up to enter the western tunnels of the great mountains. The lizards have no problems scaling walls and ceilings, though their jockeys may have a tough time staying on the saddle, unless they’re as experienced as Gevurah who looks as composed on the ground as she does on the ceiling. Lanlan, who has seen her ride her giant spider Halbyrn, may notice that she does not enjoy this mount the way she enjoyed her rides on Halbyrn. What ever happened to the spider? When they near the western tunnels, she activates her piwafwi. Both she and her lizard disappear into a newly formed shadow that moves along the cave wall and blends into natural shadows in its path.

Lanlan had some intelligence reported to him on this place, but hasn't been leaving his house much lately. A much more impenetrable barricade stood between him and the outside world: a gruesome and sudden propagation of plague-riddled vermin. Something definitely designed with him in mind, he knew. That they were dead almost made it worse. Can't relieve any rage by killing them for troubling his sight. But the calamity seems to have abated, so he and Gevie had time to do something fun. Lanlan does in fact borrow one of Gevurah's lizards, his beastmaster has been absent, and there's no point in risking a ride on a half-tamed beast when he trusts hers to be fully capable. He shows up in what's effectively a disguise, but one she's familiar with. Normally he'd like to wear the fancy rigid outfits of a gentleman, but for practicality it's a tattered looking gray robe, ribbons lazily drifting against an ethereal wind. His lieutenant accompanies him as well. His house's members were all comprised of freaks: half-drow especially, but even some werewolves and undead. His man today was a vampire, one of the many who'd prefer the savagery of the drow to the Vailkrin covens. They both follow Gevurah matching almost each step, but with some difficulty. Lanlan has minute experience riding creatures, but none would ever call him an athlete holding on isnt easy when they aren't on solid ground. His years of illusion magic make subterfuge almost effortless, and he easily masks his appearance and further muffles the footfalls of the beasts by mingling their sounds with the characteristic ambiance of each environment they step into. Everywhere they travel bats flutter and screech, tumbling rocks echo, and water drips into an unseen shallow pool. During the last leg of the approach, Lanlan beckons his lizard to slow, and his vampire takes the reins of the lizard as he slowly levitates to the floor under a veil of invisibility. He'll be magically carving runes over the course of a couple minutes that will change their immediate environment as he sees fit.

You :: The Razurath trio continued to clear away the remains pushing it all towards the door and then the red would run his hand along the wall seeing things that only razurath might have been able to see. The wall would glow and the trio would walk away from the door as the runes glowed and the wreckage soon vanished in a flash of light. "Now what," Said the Red. The female looked at him, and then to the yellow. "Well Goldvein" She said poking the red on the arm. "Hardly anyone has seen a Razurath before, they'll probably just want think we are some wingless dragon, so i say we hit up the nearest tavern and then we all get busy." The Red Goldvein shook his head, "Is that all you think about, just getting busy?" The Yellow who was mostly silent said, "Did you not have much experience with Dark's, they are always into that because they can't help it, its there nature." Goldvein snorted, "No, I didn't, but anyway, sure, lets go find a tavern, its not like they are going to be opening the door again for a week or two anyway."

Gevurah :: A shadow sweeps along the cavern wall as it approaches the three saurians. Gevurah tries to avoid the Razurath’s runes as much as possible, but they’re simply everywhere. The shadow (Gevurah and her lizard under shadow illusion) skirts really close to several runes as she advances near invisibly. The piwafwi also masks (imperfectly) her heat signature making her near invisible to drow heat vision as well. Once Gevurah is less than 100 feet away from the Razurath with her lizard clinging vertically to a wall, close to the floor and upside down so that if Gevurah reaches over its head she can touch the floor. The matron reaches under her piwafwi into her bottomless satchel and fetches a handful of sulfurous ash. She brings the fistful of ash close to her lips and whispers a spell as her free hand twitches into different arcane shapes. She then reaches down over the lizard’s head and smooths the sulfurous ash into the hard stone ground. A black sheen fans out over the floor in an arc across the width of the cavern. It passes under the Goldvein and yellow Razurath’s feet (but not the dark’s feet). The stone quickens into a viscous substance then transmutes into deep, sinking mud. If the saurians don’t act quickly, the Goldvein and the yellow’s legs will soon be stuck deep in the mud, which, on Gevurah’s command, will turn back into stone, trapping them both.

Lanlan remains aware during his furtive work, and once Gevurah begins her weird magic, Lanlan signals his vampire with an ethereal whisper only he can hear. The vampire stalks with his lizard to a spot on the cave nearly directly above the razurath and produces a translucent orb with what seems like a bolstering thunderstorm contained within it. He dexterously maneuvers his fingers and the orb flutters down just before the dinosaurs' sight. At first it just bounces before them, then a cheery mischievous laughter emanates from it, and a tiny pixie with warbling dragonfly wings appears out of thin air, holding the orb. "Hahahahaha! I got you!" The mischievous creature exclaims as it laughs and drifts happily backwards toward Lanlan.

You :: The movement across the runes might have been missed at first on the dark one and goldvein, but the oberserving Yellow, made a more notice of the runes which began to glow and causing the yellow to look more closely, at the air ahead of him darting around and pulling the two by their tails back a bit avoiding the sinking floor. "Hold up, there is something ahead of us." it said, the red soon noting the orb, causing the three some to step back a bit further, and the female, being the first to say, "You guys did bring your spears right? Right?" The red shook his head, "I thought this was just a clean up and nobody ordered me to take it." The yellow sighed, pulling out his spear. "I got one, what do you think, slow bake, or thrust of wind." the yellow said pointing his spear towards the area formerly ahead of them, the head glowing with magic runes. "How about Goldvein you charge, and take whatever there is and I will will, try to not lose it."

Gevurah scowled as not one but both saurians evaded the sinking mud. No matter. The matron’s arsenal is wide, but she can tell her position is suspected. Time to move. As her lizard scales the wall and climbs up and over across the ceiling, she reaches back into her satchel and this time pulls out three long, thin steel bars. She positions herself right above the yellow dinosaur and whispers yet another arcane script. The rods glow blue then she throws them down over the yellow dinosaur, The rods fan out and multiply and crash down at a speed faster than gravity. They collapse into a teepee over the yellow dinosaur (or if he evades this, they form a teepee over where he was a second ago) imprisoning him (or nothing). The rods are magically enchanted to withstand brute force and most magical spells aimed at breaking metal or other materials. The lizard continues its arc over the ceiling, down the opposite wall, and Gevurah circles back towards Lanlan to whisper in drow, “Take the dark one. I can handle the red.”

Lanlan finishes programming his grand rune and forces copious amounts of magic into it. The air in a wide circle encompassing all of them starts rapidly cooling down. In the time it takes for Lanlan to dismiss his invisibility, it's already ten degrees cooler, and still going. The vampire drops from the ceiling to reunite before the yellow dinosaur, and remotely grabs his orb and returns it to his grasp. A gooey black darkness covers it at his command and he lobs it toward the center of the three razurath. It shatters like glass and explodes into a mass of 8 thin sticky tentacles that flail around in a 10 foot circle. They snap around limbs and self-adhere. Normally they'd be stretchy and soft, but while Lanlan's weather freezes the air, they rapidly turn into hard black manacles as strong as steel, but brittle with enough to shatter with enough crushing force. In Lanlan's time on the surface he learned much about its fauna. He didn't know dinosaurs but they were reptiles, and like all reptiles, they thrive in warm environments and slow down in cold ones. He would have them cold enough to hibernate if he could, making easy targets out of them. Before it would be too cold even for him, he worked out a spell that was much more his forte; the only sign of it was the more rapid billowing of his robes as they amplified his power. He designed an illusion just for the dark razurath, causing a dozen neede-like icicles to form before his eyes and then before he could react to suddenly impale him. They zing through the saurian at precise points on his body, perforating him and leaving blood dribbling, dime sized holes in each place. His talents made the effects seem real enough, and it was up to the dinosaur to realize they were fake, before being convinced they were real enough to make him actually perish.

You :: The air did grow cold around the Razurath, but to any surprise, though their movements were not halted as they struggled against the tentacles and neither did they grow tired, Razurath were clearly not reptiles or didn't seem affected by the change of external temperature, however the pooling water however did cause a freeze causing ice to form underneath the razurath's feet, and because they were wearing clawmuffles they had no traction, forcing the three some to slip. even as the dark saw through the illusion and made the quip, "Oh boy another drive in..." she had the red fall on top of her, and then slid into the pyramid shaped object which because of runes working against runes caused a brief slow up, in the formation, locking the three some, in the pyramid all at once. It seemed luck and also the pure chance of three delinquents being on patrol was a score for the drow today.

Gevurah mushes her lizard towards the pyramid and makes it a point to not look impressed by Lanlan’s skill, though she is. She extends a hand towards the trio and mutters a quick spell that summons a sphere of silence around the pyramid. No sound can escape nor penetrate the sphere, and thus no one can hear the saurians scream, nor can they cast spells with their voice. She circles the pyramid and appraises each razurath like a woman appraising produce at the grocer. “I like the red one with the stripes,” she says to Lanlan in drow tongue. “Pack him up. Leave the others.”

Lanlan grimaces slightly at The Accidental success of his spells. Still perception was everything so he'd still take the credit. Once neatly in the pyramid trap, they are essentially helped helpless to the images land land projects. To them it seems like giant centipedes with hardened exoskeletons verse out of the earth and plunge into the Trio's scales, through their sinew leaving wriggling Impressions that stretch their skin painfully. Finally they burst out of their mouths and start munching on their nasal cavities and lips and eyeballs and obstructing their breath. The mental on slots would continue until they fainted, then the vampire minion would wrap the red one up in ropes and tie it to the lizard saddle.

You : While the yellow shuddered at the sight and seemed to faint away, it was the red who did the odd thing, and opened it mouth and shoved the dark one inside, with a swallow it gulped down the female, and then, finally the it relquished control and passed out. An odd thing to do perhaps. But nonetheless it happened. It was as if the red went to hibernation, their minds could see through illusion and yet, they simply obeyed with the intent.

Gevurah looks disgusted as the red swallows the black. She jokes to Lanlan, “Is this a sex thing?” She laughs, sort of. More of a cackle and a sputter. With the red saurian in hibernation, Gevurah casts a new spell to temporarily paralyze the beast. That should make the ride home easy. Lanlan will lead with their prey in tow. Gevurah will bring up the rear to make sure it doesn’t escape somehow. Once they’re in Trist’oth, the Goldvein razurath (and the dark female inside of him) will be handed off to the beast master in Trist’oth Arena. They will be magically shackled and prepared for sport in the great gladiator arena!
