RP:Turning the Naga Queen

From HollowWiki

Part of the Liberation of Rynvale Arc

Synopsis: Arien convinces Jaize, Queen of Alythria, to sever her alliance with the Time Lord. She agrees to use her access to Castle Archmosia to sabotage the edifice from within during the external assault.

Characters: Arien, Jaize.

Location: Kelay; The Grassy Knoll.

Jaize sits thoughtfully on top of the knoll, humanoid arms wrapping around humanoid legs clad in armor for hunting. The Naga's hair is pulled up in a tight, snowball of a bun on the back of her head, her normally silver eyes a dillusional shade of green, changing the woman's cool appearance to one of color and warmth. Her skin even looking a decent tan as opposed to the thin pale of their last meeting.

Arien is doing something not usual for her, taking a walk, a lone and unguarded in the cool of the evening. There had been something about the moon and stars this night that called to her. When she comes upon the Naga, she almost doesn’t recognize her. It is something about the angle of her head, the way she carries her body that betrays her identity. The elf pauses in stride. “Jaize..I have been meaning to contact you..”

Jaize catches the woman's eye and laughs, almost sad that she hadn't kept herself from being spotted and identified. "Ah Arien of the Fold. Grand eyes you possess." She stands then, the clinking of heavy armor the melody of her motions. Even then, she still appears too thin to carry such a weight unburdened. "What did you wish to contact me with?" she asks, making her way down the knoll and towards the woman for better conversation.

Arien closes the distance between the two women, the suggestion of a smile teasing at the pale lips upon the Naga’s compliment; but it fades as quickly as it surfaces as the business at hand takes precedence. “Have you given any further thought to our previous conversation? The Emperor has issued his challenge even more blatantly upon the boards, he threatens death to the land and its inhabitants. I know you have had some concerns about openly leaving his alliance-have you given any thought to the possibility of aiding in its subversion from within?”

Jaize lifts a thin white breath of a brow in question before a knowing look spreads over her face. "You have a plan? I have not spoken with him, but I have seen the posts. I'm not sure if just my involvement will be enough to do anything of value from within. But come, speak of your ideas." A tanned hand beckons the woman to continue, thoughtful eyes holding fast.

Arien smiles..a slow smile that reveals the sheer pleasure she revels in at what may be a fool proof plan. “Yes..we have a plan. Black powder, it is a chemical compound that has proven and potent explosive qualities, the feline Noemi is the sole individual who knows the formula and how it is produced. We have enough of it to level a city-or a castle.” She falls into step beside the woman. “The avians are on high alert, The emperor has attacked their senator, and has challenged Shaelus in person. If war is declared-which seems likely, we will have an alliance between us-which means that we would have access to each others resources.” She pauses, “What I am about to say, must not leave us, or the inner circle of your high command. I wish to organize an air assault on castle Archmosia, from bases at sea. They are prepared for a land assault, their defenses thick and secure. But they are wide open from the air. The pirate captain Leoxander has been hired to get me a fleet. If the avians give me the air resources, and my scientist can make me portable explosive devices, we can destroy the emperor’s stronghold-drive the parasite from his host, and leave him vulnerable and open to attack. Perhaps, Solaris will finish him then” She took a deep breath. The only weakness to the plan, the devices will not destroy the castle from the outside alone. We will need someone to plant devices on the support columns of the castle on the inside. The avians have devices that remotely detonate them in tandem with the outside assault”

Jaize haults for a moment, the news sounding dangerous but effective. A nod here, and a raised brow there, showing the Naga is listening. " And that is where my links with the Emperor come in...I'm to take these devices and apply them in the correct locations to ensure it's destruction." The long thin humanoid legs visible beneath the armor pause for a moment, hips shifting sideways, "Dangerous this plan is but well thought out...And it is a sure thing that the castle will be brought down by this...black powder? There are no leaks within your system to alert him otherwise?"

Arien said to Jaize The information that you have been given is known by none but the command circles of all of the units and clans involved rank soldiers do not even know. It is our primary objective to maintain secrecy until the last possible moment. If we have explosions both inside and outside, the walls will fall, if our scientific data is accurate, which we believe it is.” She turned to face the woman, her gaze solemn. “We need someone on the inside Jaize..will you do it? We will of course get the devices to you and a map of where they must be placed in a timely manner. And make sure that you are well out of harms way before the attack.”

Jaize said to you, "I find no reason to refuse your request. I ask only that you continue to keep this plan under wraps until the need rises to speak of it. A need to know basis..and tell no one that I am the one assisting you. My name aligns with the Emperor's too closely, I will not be trusted by any creature. It is best for your plan that I continue to look as if I side with the Emperor...and I continue as before as if we have never spoken on peaceful terms. I will make a posting on such tavern boards in favor of the Emperor to solidify any doubts the creatures of this land may have until the time comes. Arien of the Fold, bringing him down will be hard even with this plan..."

Arien nodded, her quiet movement belying the leap of her heart at the news that the Naga queen would co-operate. It all but guaranteed the successful demolition of the castle and a serious blow to the morale of the emperor and his troops. “Once the attack takes place, it may be hard for you to remain undetected as an abettor. You must be prepared then to make your official break, and seek the protection of the avian generals. They have given their assurances that you and your race would be protected from the Emperor’s wrath.” Beginning to turn away from the woman she adds quietly. “And yes, it would be wise for now to do what you can to solidify yourself in his eyes as an ally. Do not do more than you would otherwise have done however, as it will draw unnecessary attention. I will send word of where and when to pick up the devices. ” Without waiting for her response, the elf moved away, disappearing into the shadows of the night.
