RP:Turn the Scale

Summary: Once again, Leo and Xzavior have a chance meeting at the Bulletin Board. Curious about the location of the Delicatessen, or 'Deli', the naga leads the pirate to the new 'Sweet Shop'.

Aunt Grizzy's Sweet Shop, Larket

Leoxander followed after the naga, taking a moment to notice the way he kept his hand securely on his satchel. He did so subtly, however, not making his curiosity on the matter obvious in the least. It was the building coming into view that he was studying soon enough, a glance at any connecting street given to try to determine the crossroads before he would step inside the shop. "Is this off main street?" He idly asked, nose soon twitching at the smell of fresh baked goods. If there was a counter, he made his way toward it, trying not to look intimidating though his leather attire and the large obsidian bow on his back didn't help soften his image. Blue eyes absently took in the cozy scene and there was a slight knot of doubt etched between his brows.

Xavior gave a nod as he walked in and kept his distance for a moment before smiling a bit and just coming over himself. Having a far better time making himself look less intimidating with a charming look here and a smile there. Of course, that didn't change the fact that it was probably very strange to have a naga and the lycan in such a place together. "Well, this place doesn't seem so bad honestly. Though probably not the replacement for the Red Ogre. After all, the place doubled as an inn." Going off to find a seat, he placed the satchel to the side of him as he sat down, tail curling around the seat and waited for Leo to join. He wasn't hungry, so why waste some coin?

(Missing Post: Leo purchases cinnamon baked goods, offering Xzavior one.)

Xzavior didn't bother worrying about poison or the likes. Taking the cookie, he bit into it right away and gave a shrug, "If they have, then I guess I missed out on that." Idly watching the man in front of him, he wondered if the man had anything else on his mind. He wasn't the type to just sit around at a sweets shop and just talk with someone. Xzavior however, was able to just sit down anywhere and look as though he fit in. If you discount the tail. "So. What do you even do when your inland? You've been here for a while now at least." And just watched.

Leo murmured lowly to Xzavior as he finished that sweep of gaze across the small shop. He was convinced this wasn't his mark by then. "Longer than you even know, mate." Chewing the last of his cookie, a flask was taken from an inside jacket pocket and opened for a drink to wash down the sugar and cinnamon taste. Not terrible, for a cookie. He hadn't had one in a while. "This an' that. Whatever needs done, I guess. Spent some time watchin' the crab's shop. Used to do some sailin', but that's a bloody bust till I can make the funds for a new boat." He didn't add those little details of being a pirate, a captain, and part of the Rynvale war. It wasn't for certain that he trusted this naga, yet, despite that the new healer had been a good source of information. "So if her royal highness isn't too fond of you, why do you stick around? Don't worry she might notice or catch wind of you in her Kingdom? Or you just the type to enjoy pissin' the nobles off?" He dusted the crumbs off his hands one at a time on the legs of his pants.

Xzavior pointed to him with the cookie and said with an amused chuckle, "Oi, she started it!" Taking another bite he gave a bit of a shrug before saying, "Well, I don't make it a habit to piss of nobles, but those two weren't the first, nor the last. Is tick around cause I got people here that I like. Other then that, I wouldn't be here in the first place. If she's all too concerned with me being here, she can talk to Macon about getting me kicked out or something." So, he was right about the whole sea thing. He could scent the salt water on him. "But, I know whatcha mean. Been there before, till I got into a bit of trouble and decided to lay low." Looking over to the pirate, he said simply, "I got into a lot of, well, fights." Wasn't a total lie.

Leoxander leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms back over his chest in that familiar way, studying Xzavior. He seemed like a nice guy, willing to heal, help, have a chat. But some part of the pirate definitely believed that he was capable of getting into fights and trouble. "You do kinda stand out, mate." Another change of subject, but he kept his voice quiet since it wasn't the most intelligent idea to discuss the favor of royalty in their own city. "Can't say I know much about this King, or even his bride. But you remember what the warrior said about it in Kelay that night? That this place was in danger. Kind'a a strange thing to say right after the place was wrecked with the ground shakes, don'tcha think?"

Xzavior slowed a bit when Leo brought up the fact that Lionel said such a thing. "I must admit. It is something rather strange to say." He'd have to go ask the man what he meant by it when Xzavior next had the chance. He was on good standing with the knight so it might not be much trouble to find out. The king, he didn't know much about either other then the fact that he had seen him with Gevurah in the underdark. However, that wasn't the reason that he had such a fond distaste for Macon. That part was more personal.

Leo felt there was something Xzavior was holding back, but he was fairly good at reading the look in eyes or expression. The rogue was quiet and contemplative for a while, before he leaned forward on the table. "Maybe you could help me figure this out." This wasn't an ideal place to discuss business. And... this naga wasn't really suited physically to 'blend in', but he also didn't seem to carry much of a reputation, unless one counted the way the Ha-Naga had described him. "Can't say I know your price, but almost every man has one. And I could use an extra pair of ears around if yer willin'. Call it a personal interest in the city's wellfare." His flask was returned to his inner jacket pocket, then. He didn't offer to share it with Xzavior, because that took a certain amount of trust that hadn't quite been established, yet. But so far, Leo didn't have a bad vibe about the cryomancer.

Xzavior raised a brow when he asked him that before shifting a bit and picking up his satchel, "Is that so?" He asked with a chuckle at the way he described it. Sitting up a bit he placed his arms on the table and said in a more curious tone. "And what sort of interests are we talking about here?" Pricing wasn't all too important. But he seemed to have figured out what made the man interesting. Nothing like some under the table work to spice up a relationship with the other. "I think something like that can work." Now, in terms of blending in, he had some interesting tricks up his sleeve that he'd keep to himself. Helped a hell if a lot to keep his name away from public ear.

Leoxander shrugged casually as he started to stand from the chair. He never stayed in one place for too long. "I wanna know what's goin' on aroun' these parts. I got a few people here I like, too." That wasn't a lie, even though 'like' seemed a strong word for the pirate. "But I take you for a traveler, an' whatever you think might interest me or bring me an extra handful of business, I'd be willin' to share the work if you manage to stay clever about it. You know my name. That don't mean anyone else has to, savy? Think I could make it worth yer while." Picking up his bow and tossing a few copper on the table for a cheap tip, he shouldered the weapon and gave Xzavior a moment to respond, agree, decline or consider it for now. "I think I'll be able to find you if you don't find me, but likely where we always run into each other."

Xzavior didn't mind a little side work. After all, it wasnt a hard task, offering hearsay to a kind fellow for a few spare coins right? "Clever isn't a hard task for me. I'll see what I can't pass along from time to time. And don't worry. Names don't pass easy." Taking a stand himself, he offered a nod before saying, "Well, a pleasure getting to know you a little better. I'll see what I can't do on my part."

Leoxander offered a simple nod in return, and without further hesitation, he made his way toward the door. He did mention to the shop keep. "Damn fine cookie." He might be back for more. But for now, he let the door close behind him.
