RP:The Uneasy Eyes

Coastal Square

Here is a large, informally laid out square with a small fountain at it's centre,it's water sparkling. Wrought iron benches are scattered around and there are several rockeries with a variety of succulents growing in them. To your East is the rear of an inn and to the North a round building. Glimpses of the sea can be seen to the West and the road runs South further into Chartsend.

Nowfaleena sat on on of the benches, her eyes closed, but her ears ever alert to her suroundings, swiveling this way and that. She was on her own for the time being, her cubs back at the bungalow where the small family lived. She breathed deeply of the cool night air, her tail twitching behind her.

Tyler continued down the still busy streets of Chartsend with his arms crossed neatly around his torso. He was garbed in a two-toned robe set of green and black with a scarf that matched covering the lower half of his face. Beneath the cloth, a smile as he replays the events in the public garden that happened mere moments ago. His eyes are focused to the amulet around his neck as he plays the scene in his mind over and over, this leads to him not paying attention to his path. A few feet in front of Nowfaleena's seated position, Tyler and a rather large minotaur would bump shoulders. As soon as the human raises his head to apologize for colliding with the strangers he is cut short with a snort and grumpy; "Watch it!" The minotaur thrusts his meaty palms against the shoulders of the smaller framed human sending him to the cobblestone below with an "Umph!" The human stares as the Minotaur continues down the street laughing about with his companion, taunts and insults of the man being loud spoken before they fade from view. The good mood had been eradicated as Tyler now sits with his bum burning from the fall. A heavy sigh is given sending a fog of breath rising to the sky as he brushes at his robe legs. A glance from caramel colored eyes is offered to Nowfaleena and the man is thankful for the scarf hiding his features as a bright shade of red claims his cheeks.

Nowfaleena let her luminescent gaze drift open as the sound of a minotaur bellowing a warning. She saw the human knocked to the ground, and looked at the minotaurs as they faded into the crowd. Letting out a huff, she commented, "Well, that was uncalled for." She watched the man climb to his feet and look at her as he disted himself off, "Do you always make friends so easily?" She teased with a smirk, despite not knowing the man.

Tyler finds himself lacking in the want for socializing but the teasing tone of the feline cannot be resisted. "Oh, yeah... daily." His voice carries a hint of anger but it would fade as quickly as it came as he eyes the woman once more. "What, uh..." He glances on either side of the street ensuring that no one was in proximity of the duos conversation. "What are you doing out here alone?" He nods to the night sky over head. Before raising an open palm toward her to ward off any offense. "I-I mean I'm sure you can handle yourself an-an-and everything but..." Dammit. It was happening again. The social anxiety the human suffered from was catching up in his chest and he is forced to take a deep breath and slow down. "I just haven't seen many, well any, of your race around here... I know down in Kelay they've got some pervs' lusting over your breed and well... I've had some recent experiences around here that I wouldn't wish on anyone." His insides feel like they're on fire, he's only just met this woman and it already explaining how the twisted desires of the fools in Kelay work? What an idiot.

Nowfaleena chuckled at his reply, not caring whether he was angry with her or not. She didn't get the feeling he would attack her. At his question she offered a shrug, "I -" But before she could get any further, he was stumbling over himself to explain the question. She smirked and let him fumble over his words, "I'm well aware of the perverts in Kelay." She replied, having had her run ins with them, "Perhaps I am here to escape them...unless I am to expect men of equal perversion here?" At this she flicked her tail playfully as she smirked at the man, trying to make him more nervous. This was fun.

Tyler raises his hand with a finger aimed to the sky; "Uh." It falls behind his head and begins to rub at his neck nervously; "I mean, I don't... people... erm..." He surrenders. "Ugh." His hand falls back by his side and the human begins to question how he could manage transform from a happy state of mind to one of pure panic within literally five minutes. He offers a shrug. "I dunno', I don't associate with these people much. For all I know we could have the filthiest of pigs among us." He nods in the direction the Minotaur escaped off into. "I'm sure he isn't the best of gentlemen." The humans legs are shaking violently from the blow and his anxiety. He moves to take a seat by Nowfaleena and reaches up to yank the scarf from around his face. "Names Tyler... village idiot. And you are?" He turns to face the feline allowing a better view of his complexion. It would be hard to believe that the ramblings of a child escaped from this young man of a human. He has light stubble across his face upon a clear complexion with caramel colored eyes that hold a soft, yet panicked gaze.

Nowfaleena laughed at his fumbling reply, "Relax, I'm teasing. Though you are likely right about the minotaur." Her maw curved into a smile as the man introduced himself. SHe examined his features appraisingly. He was handsom, not that that was of any import to the caracal, "I'm Nowfaleena." She replied with a grin. Her luminescent gaze shifted to meet his caramel eyes.

Tyler would lock eyes with the feline so long as she would hold the stare and it makes him uneasy. Her features were much different than any other creature he'd met in Hollow so far and sitting this close to her made him feel near fearful though he presses to hide that emotion. Finally breaking his stare, the man finds it hard to speak, but is quick to swallow the rising lump in his throat. He struggles to pronounce her name correctly; "Well, Now-full.. no-fell... Nowfal... Ma'am. It's still dangerous for anyone to be out here alone at night. As said, I've had some encounters recently that don't make much for good nights." He nods to the street before scratching at his neck anxiously. "Do you live in this city? If not, do you plan on traveling alone? ...Because that's not too smart."

Nowfaleena couldn't help chuckling at his struggle to say her name as he tore his gaze away from hers. "Call me Leena, if it's easier." She looked around as he mentioned the dangers of the city, "I tend to blend with the shadows." She replied, though his point was well taken, "I don't live here. I actually live just outside of Kelay, near the Milous plains." Her head tilted to the side, "Are you offering to escort me?"

Tyler's eyes would go wide at the mention of the Milous plains and the mention of him escorting the feline back. "Oh, god, erm, no, I..." His face falls into his palms as he whines and audible cry before rubbing heavily at his eyes and then turning back to the feline. "First off, that's ages away. Second, I shouldn't be escorting anyone 'less I'm being bait as though a distraction. I likely couldn't fight my way through a paper bag." It seems there was an issue here. Nowfaleena had found herself out in Chartsend, miles and miles and miles away from home and Tyler despite his awkward anxiety found it hard to let her travel alone. Then it hits him... the dream and the slavers. He offers a soft hum before turning to face the feline, his eyes locking with hers for a few moments. "Actually... I'll be setting out on a trip that will take me through the plains soon. I'm not sure when, should be no more than a day or two, I'm simply awaiting confirmation of my companions. If you've the patience, you could travel with us and we could drop you off then? I mean... with the tensions between Vailkrin and what not..." Unknowingly the mans teeth would sink into the left side of his bottom lip as he fights the urge to simply get up and leave the feline to fend for herself. "The tavern here rents rooms for fairly cheap... fifteen gold a night, I believe."

Nowfaleena chuckled at the man' insecurities. She paused to consider his offer. Her cubs were at home with their nanny, and she didn't want to leave them with just Burnadette for too long. Her ear twitched as she thought thing through, "I can wait one night, no more than that." She responded, knowing it was probably in her best interest not to travel alone, though she had been used to doing so.

Tyler ponders for a moment before nodding in agreement to her terms. The human rising from his seated position on the bench and extending a shaking hand to Nowfaleena in offering to escort her to the Slippery Eel. "C'mon then. I'll get you set up with a room, then I've got somethings to do. It's usually a little rowdy at night but the rooms are small and to yourself so you won't have any issues... trust me, I live here..." His confession of his current living arrangement of being confound to a small room of a smelly old pub didn't bring much grace to the human, but alas, the truth was just that. He waits to see if the woman will take his hand so that he can lead her to the tavern. His caramel hues locking to her own once more as he finds himself uneasy in the stomach yet again, those eyes were killer.

Nowfaleena took the offered hand as she stood, nodding at his offer, as close as he would get to a thank you. "No shame in living in an inn...most people in these lands probably do so." She met his gaze with her luminescent sight, a smirk on her features. She didn't mind a little rowdiness. She would have to send a note to her home to let Burnadette know to spend the night, though.

Tyler would suppress a shutter as Nowfaleena returned the stare. Despite his mind racing with questions and assumptions the man managed to bite his tongue and would turn to walk to the eel in silence.
