Entrance to the Park

Khitti had been at this camp for little under a week and was already beginning to experience that overwhelming sensation she got when in a large crowd of people. Despite now officially declaring herself to be one of Hildegarde's future protectors of Frostmaw, there was still that nagging feeling that she was ever to be an outsider. These feelings of hers drew her again to the outskirts of the war camp. With her bow in hand, and an arrow knocked back, the tip of the projectile is aimed towards an invisible mark at a tree. She had been there for some time, and once the rest of the camp had awakened, a small crowd had gathered. Mostly children and a few elderly folk made up the group, but she paid little heed to them for the time being. For now, it was her, the bow, and the tree. The familiar sound of a loosed arrow fills the air, as well as the subsequent 'thunk' as it embeds itself into the tree soon after. Her skill is applauded lightly, but the vampiress attempts to keep her attention on the task at hand. Nothing could distract her now from her training. Well, almost nothing.

Xalious bathed in the warm glow of the spring sun with bright blue skies providing a feeling of joy and content to the happy citizens that wandered there. Though their beautiful day would meet an odd bump in the road as a massive twelve foot bear comes roaming across their paths with groans loud enough to vibrate theirs chests. Resting upon the bear's back is a battered and broken man with swollen cheeks that are tinted purple from bruising, cracked teeth and busted lips that have spilled an untold amount of blood that had matted his raven black hair along with mud and dirt and his odd choice of clothing and make up long since ruined as he gasps like a fish out of water for air despite being unconscious. The citizens don't seem to pay much mind to the creature and his load opting to dodge out of his path rather than answer his cries for help which urges him to move deeper through the town inching closer and closer to the applauding crowd and a certain vampire who would hear the wail of the beast in three... two...

Khitti was right in the middle of firing off another arrow when the ever approaching scent of blood filled her nostrils. It smelled so sweet...so delicious...so...familiar. And then, as if on cue, she heard that mournful wail of the faithful creature known as Adagio. Her bow faltered, soon dropping to the ground as she spun about to see the dire bear galloping towards the camp. "Adagio! Stop!" was called out as she took off towards him and his broken companion, as quickly as her vampiric speed allowed her. She gave no care to the people that was in the way, shoving them to the side as nicely as one can in such a situation. The dark ranger stopped just in front of the bear in an attempt to halt him, that fear that had lingered before surfacing somewhat, but she swallowed it back. This was no time to be overcome by her emotions. Her dearest and best friend was nearing the end and she could sense it.

Adagio has been in a constant state of panic since the day he pulled Alex from the garden, the bear searching endlessly for a sign of help, for a friend of the beaten bard but with such a short list the task proved to be anything but easy. Khitti's voice reaches the beast's ears and his front paws buckles into the ground skidding across the grass in a slow stop until he spots the vampire and begins crying out loudly to her without a pause, unable to hold still as he seems to beg her to take notice of Alex upon his back.

Khitti knew right away that Alex had been beaten in his tournament bout. She vaguely knew of his opponent, that arrogant knight Ayras that she had met just once, and for only a short time. Did he put up a good fight against that other redheaded vampire? She could tell by that first and only meeting with the knight that he was strong and when she had found out that he was to be Alex's opponent, she had worried. Of all the creatures in the world that he could've been matched up against, it was the sole thing that frightened him most: a vampire. All of this runs through her mind as she looks upon the bear sadly, giving him a soft pat on the head. Was she...being brave for the bear? She didn't really have any choice. Her own feelings on the matter would be dealt with in time. For now, she whispers softly to Adagio, "Give him to me, Adagio. I vill take him to zhe camp. You stay here for now. Please.", as if the bear understood her. Or at least, she hoped he did. The vampiress then moves to the side, hand moving up towards the bard, attempting to take him when and if the bear complied. The smell of Alex's blood was overwhelming her, almost to tears, but she hid it well behind a mask. She had learned that trick from the best.

Adagio follows her commands and lowers himself forward to allow her to scoop up the bard with ease. The mans skin isn't it's usual pale but a full blown white like the clouds hanging over head, most of his wounds have fallen victim to infection due to lack of treatment and the vampire wouldn't need to struggle much if at all to lift him due to obvious weight loss. His limp body is hers to control as the man doesn't make a sound other than his struggled breathing, the only sign that he's still alive through the gored mess.

Khitti fought hard to keep composed, to keep face as the solemn and strange foreigner in front of the people of the camp as they watched the vampiress handle the situation. No one dared to go near the twelve foot bear. "Oh, Alex..." is whispered to the male with a heavy sigh before she's taking the necessary steps in front of Adagio again, "I vill be back for you, Adagio. I vill bring you something to eat. Stay here. Ve vill take care of him." With that said, swift feet lead her away from the somber animal, taking her and her dear, unfortunate friend to the healers that had lended themselves to Hildegarde's cause.
