RP:The Art Of Remembering

Part of the The Day I Tried To Live Arc

Summary: Meri gives Khitti her first art lessons and the two discuss the subject of amnesia and memories.

The Tranquility, Cenril Wharf

Khitti had been waiting impatiently for Meri to show up. It wasn’t necessarily Meri’s fault, it was merely because Khitti was that excited to get a proper art teacher! Meri wasn’t even late, but Khitti was pacing back and forth on the top deck of the Tranquility. The violin wasn’t on her person or near her just now, but it didn’t matter since they weren’t leaving the ship--Khitti looked like the Khitti that Meri had grown to know and love. Maybe Meri wasn’t going to show up? Maybe she didn’t want to be around Khitti now that she was different. The redhead had taken to pacing, but it didn’t last long. Instead, she plopped herself down onto the deck, just near the gangplank, peering down at the water beneath the plank.

Meri was a little late, and that might have been Meri's fault just a bit. Poor Khitti will just have to stew and fret over if the tattooed blonde would show up or not for what could seem like an eternity. That's how it works when you're excited and someone is late, right? Finally the blonde comes into sight and it becomes fairly obvious why she was running a bit late. She of course decided to bring Kadence along to speed the journey between Cenril and Larket up, but she was left safe and sound at the stables. Which means that Meri has to haul a bunch of art supplies through the streets of Cenril herself. I mean sure she could try and show up and do the thing with her mind and the telekinesis...? But that's not her style. Anyway, there Meri is carrying a bunch of stuff -- because she is not sure what Khitti has on the ship, she can't remember what she purchased during her visit to the store -- if anything. Better safe than sorry, and most everything Meri brought she brought two of. One for herself to use and one for Khitti.

Khitti saw Meri’s feet before she saw the rest of the blonde and immediately jumped up from her spot and chirped loudly, “Hi!” She stared at the woman for what might seem like an eternity to Meri, considering all the stuff she’s carrying, but no memory seemed to shake loose like she was hoping. She quelled a sigh that threatened to bubble up out of her throat and put on that warm smile again for the artist, “Yikes, sorry! Brand and I have been busy and I completely forgot to buy more supplies while we were out. Thankfully, you’re obviously better at remembering this stuff than I am.” That was kind of a joke, you see. Khitti’s even grinning now. “Here, lemme help.” She’d outstretch her arms towards the other woman, the appendages open and waiting for things to carry. Not much longer after that did Khitti lead Meri down into the lower decks of the ship to the library.

Meri was more than happy to unload a bit of the gear onto Khitti. The woman would get a bag and then she would also have the pleasure of carrying her own easel. "Oh that's okay. Sometimes there is no point in investing in a whole bunch of supplies until you know what forms you are going to take a liking too. It can be expensive to be experimental." Which was sort of the perk of taking classes down at the Rebel Room -- a fee for the lesson and a fee for the materials and it's still cheaper than investing in a whole set of watercolors only to realize that you prefer a paint with more viscosity. Or perhaps they don't like paint at all -- maybe it's all pencil work. Which means, "I have a bunch of stuff laying around anyway." Meri grins right back to Khitti. Down to the library of the ship they go, Meri following after Khitti and then promptly unloading and setting up with the expectation that Khitti would try and deal with her own easel. "Besides, I believe you bribed me with something tasty. Like cheesecake, I think it was?" There is this expectant glance around the room, where is this tasty goodness, Red?

Once they got to the library and unloaded the supplies, Khitti blinked a few times at the mention of cheesecake. “Oh! Be right back.” She’d leave Meri to set things up as she pleased as she scurried off towards the galley. The library itself was decently large for being on a ship, the shelves stretching from the floor to the ceiling, filled to the brim with one of Khitti’s favorite things: books. On the far wall, looking out towards the sea was a magically reinforced window that also stretched from the floor to the ceiling, giving the room enough light to work with when the sun was out and a lovely view of the ocean at dusk. There were comfy chairs here and there, and a couch or two as well. Off to the side was a table big enough for them to use for the supplies, and chairs to sit on while they messed with the easels. “Here it is!” Khitti finally returned, a tray with small blueberry cheesecake, some sandwiches, and a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. Brand might’ve mentioned that Meri liked whiskey.

Khitti would return to find that Meri has set up her own easel, should they decide to put them to use. They could stand, they could sit, whatever felt most comfortable. What Meri is doing is instead laying out a number of supplies on that big ol' table. Khitti did say that she wanted drawing lessons, so that is a bulk of what Meri has brought. Pencils, a whole array of them. They come in different thicknesses, some are a softer lead, some a darker, there was a variety for Khitti to pick from. And colors! But if Khitti wanted to branch out Meri has also brought charcoals and pastels for the woman to fiddle around with. Regardless of which medium she picks, blending tools will probably be very useful to have at her disposal. Some have a rounder tip, some a more pointed, again they come in a few different sizes. Khitti is probably all eyes on the supplies while Meri is all but drooling over that cake. "Trade. I'll take the cake, you can have at what you see on the table and well... then get to drawing. Whatever suits your fancy this time around really, I want get a feel for your style."

Khitti definitely was all eyes on the art stuff, and nearly drooling too. The stuff that was sold here in Cenril really -was- that expensive, so she hadn’t gotten around to getting more. “Holy hell,” Brand’s potty mouth was wearing off on her again it seemed, ”I didn’t realize there were so many different kinds of pencils.” As Meri would assumingly dig into the foodstuffs, one of Khitti’s hands dangled just above the selection of graphite pencils as she eyed them for just the right one. Finally, after much deliberation, she chose the one with the letter B on it and set to work, grabbing a nearby sketchbook. Deciding what she wanted to draw took even more time, but not much. Every so often in between drawing out lines where they were needed, she used her finger and blended in areas, erasing spots here and there as well. The sketch wasn’t completely detailed, something for Meri to get a feel for, like she’d said, but there was definitely one thing for certain: it was of Brand. In some places the lines were a bit shaky, or the pencil had been pressed too hard in one spot and not enough in the other. There were small things to be tweaked, but it wasn’t entirely awful. “I, uh, really liked the style of my tattoo, so I’ve been trying to match that. I’ve been practicing, in between my duties here and Brand and Onyx helping me with my archery.” The tattoo, of course, was the mermaid one. It was funny that she’d pick her own drawing to work from. Meri is indeed digging into the foodstuffs, blueberry cheesecake and whiskey goes quite well together....because in Meri's world everything is good with whiskey. There is pause given when Khitti brings up how she likes the style of the tattoo, and her lips twitch up into a faintly amused smirk that she quickly tries to hide. What was she allowed to say to Khitti again? To some extent Meri wishes that Brand was present in an actual physical sense, not just a face in a sketchbook, so he can give Meri funny looks or interrupt or...help her not say something she is not supposed to say. "I mean, there is a reason that you're so fond of that style, you know. It's going to come naturally." At least this is Meri's thinking and given that Khitti did want to receive lessons in drawing, well the artist felt inclined to let that point settle in some fashion. Cheesecake is set aside on the table so that she can move closer to Khitti, allowing herself a view of what she is drawing as she is drawing it. That whiskey is brought along with her though -- that was important. The sight of Brand's face in Khitti's sketchbook has Meri grinning again, and then promptly teasing the redhead, because.."Got yourself a little bit of a crush do you? Red and Brand sittin' in a tree." This is said with a sing-song voice and everything. And then a little bit louder. "K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Not that Meri is surprised about this like at all. #KhittiBrand

Almost as soon Meri started teasing her did Red’s face turn bright… well… red. “It’s, uh… more than that. I-I-I--” She can barely talk now, and if it was possible for her face to gain anymore color, it would. “I told him that I love him… and he actually said it back too.” Brand actually managed to say those three words? No way. He must be an imposter. “I know it seems really sudden but it just -feels- right. I felt it when I first met him even. Re-met. Whatever.” She let out a nice long exhale, a bit of her hair blown out of her face with the air, “I guess that means he’s okay with me as I am now, yeah?” Well, if him saying ‘I love you’ didn’t tell her that, then the make out session afterwards would’ve. She left that part out though.

Meri just smirks again, because to Meri it was not at all that sudden nor did she think that Brand was an impostor because he said those three words. 'Death' will do that sort of thing to a person, make them inspired to say things that they're normally more reserved about saying. "I mean I guess that is really a question that you should probably be asking him." Because who better to voice his opinion on that outside of Brand himself? "But yeah, I suppose that is what those three little words are supposed to mean. And Brand is not the sort of person to say things that he does not mean." Meri was also not the sort who likes to meddle too much in other people's relationships, not that she disapproved of a single thing as Meri really sort of viewed KhittiBrand as like the perfect couple? And yes, perfect couples are allowed to have redheads get feisty over like...everything. "Anyway, I don't know what sort of wisdom you're hoping that I will be able to impart upon you. You're plenty talented. I do hope you know that." And with that point made, Meri moves back across the room toward the easel she set up, she did haul it along so she was going to put it to use.

Khitti shrugged a bit as she stared down at the captain’s likeness on the sketchbook, “I mean, yeah… I guess I can. I suppose I should just be grateful at all that my disappearance and the amnesia didn’t frak up his side of things much--or at least enough that he could get over it in time. He practically ever leaves my side unless he’s got business to take care of that Onyx can’t deal with, like today. I think he would’ve tried to put today’s art lessons off if he couldn’t be here if he didn’t trust you.” With that same finger as before, she smudged a few more lines on the drawing of Brand, perfecting it little by little, though she’ll probably just redo it in time. “Really? I mean, the practice definitely helps. Pencil seems easy though compared to things like oil pastels. The crayons just seem so difficult to work with. Watercolor was difficult too at first; sometimes I’d have too much water or not enough.” Khitti shifted her attention over at the blonde finally as she headed over towards the easel, the redhead following soon after, “How long have you been an artist?”

Meri knew in the back of her mind that Brand trusted her, that did not stop her from worrying over what should or should not be said. What has he told Khitti? What do other people know? All of these are top concerns in the back of Meri's mind, which is probably part of the reason she was trusted...She'd consider these things. At least the best that she can. This did mean that Meri was more selective about what she was chatting about, which could be making her a poor conversationalist. Ah well. Meri is at the easel now and has her favorite medium in hand, a piece of charcoal. Black charcoal, the substance which normally ends up staining her hand fingers black for a brief time. What Meri ends up drawing? The details would slowly form, starting with a boat bobbing in the ocean. "Well, I don't know how much I would count myself an artist. It's not like people have any of my pictures hanging around anywhere." Maybe a murder-doll does. "I guess some people have plenty of my ink in their skin, but there are plenty of people that wouldn't count that as enough to call myself an artist. But. I have been drawing since...Oh, I don't know, I was so. Just a youngin'." More of the picture starts to take shape. There is a Khitti in this boat. Definitely a Khitti, leaning over and dangling a bracelet. Next to form is not the mermaid, but Brand. That mermaid would come though, she'd just be the last detail that Meri would add to this equation. Obviously this was the very same mermaid that Khitti had on her arm, for Meri was depicting a very particular scene. Except someone was obviously not drawn into this madness, it was just Khitti, Brand and a mermaid. But since Meri likes black, Khitti is left to wonder.

“No, but like you said, most of your art is on people’s skin. That’s definitely a sort of a canvas and in a way, it’s definitely ‘hanging’ there. People who say that’s not art are idiots. That’s like saying music and writing aren’t art either. There’d be no entertainment of any sort or any color filling the world if there wasn’t artists of all kinds.” It was clear Khitti felt very strongly about this. “And, you’re very lucky. I don’t know how much I actually drew before--” she paused and motioned at her head, indicating her amnesia “--but I don’t expect it was very much. Brand’s been showing me things little by little lately. Things that I had interest or skill in before. Art doesn’t seem to be one of them--at least not drawing, anyway.” The original sketchbook, the one with those stars on her wrists and where the mermaid drawing of hers had come from was still packed away down below in the cargo hold of the ship. As Meri worked on her own drawing, Khitti watched carefully, taking in how the blonde made her pencil strokes and noting how her own differed. And then the fact that Meri was drawing Khitti and Brand came into view and Khitti couldn’t help realize that the scene felt entirely familiar, her red brows furrowing in that vaguely concerned sort of way.

Meri was drawing and thus not paying that much attention to Khitti's expression, those blue eyes are pretty intently focused on her work though her mind is still able to devote some attention to their conversation. "I can't speak to how much time you spent drawing, I think you must have spent at least a decent amount because you designed all of your tattoos yourself. Only the skill with the ink is mine, and to be honest I think you could probably have picked that up just fine yourself if you wanted to. It was never something we discussed though, you learning how to tattoo. So perhaps a casual hobby is a nice way to describe your relationship with drawing. There was more of a fondness for music." Which Red probably already has come to realize. "And baking. You once told me that you dreamed of opening your own store." But she did not want to compete with Mallard's Bakery. Meri shrugs, "Anyway. I don't mean to sit here trying to shove these details into your brain. But...that is what I mean when I say that this is going to come back to you. You will find that style again." Truly Meri hoped that Khitti would find her memories again, but it was what it was. What could either of them do? At this point the meat of the picture is complete, it is just Meri fiddling over the finer details. A bit of shading here, a few more lines there, some detail work on the surface of the water. It's around this point that Meri takes a glance at Khitti and notices the expression on her face. "If you don't entirely hate this picture, I am going to leave this one behind." As in she is giving it to Khitti and Brand.

“I do want to own my own bakery. And I do love music,” Red said distractedly as she continued to stare at that drawing. Something… felt missing. “I want to be a bard… or something close enough to it. But…” She shook her head, sighing as she got up and walked back over to where she’d left the sketchbook, “It’s fine. I’ve started remembering things. And almost remembering things. And barely remembering things.” To some people, that might all sound to same, but to Khitti--and maybe even Meri, given the fact she too had amnesia once--they were all different. “It’s not been much. Mostly dreams that leave my memory almost entirely. They were different once, before the three of you found me again.” ‘The three of them’ being Brand, Lionel, and Meri herself. “There were faces that I couldn’t see. The one that was clearest was the one with green eyes. I’m pretty sure now that was you, Brand, and Lionel.” Shrugging, she peered down at the drawing of Brand, then flipped through the pages to a clean sheet. Silent now, she picked up the pencil and make her own rough sketch of Meri’s artwork, using it to try to draw out that memory that was hanging there just out of reach. She didn’t say anything about Meri leaving it here, not yet anyway.

Khitti would be left to try and unravel the mystery of what (or who) was missing from the drawing, Meri did not seem to be offering up that information. Meri finds her way into a seat, just to one side of her own picture so that Khitti can have a clear view of it. "I can speculate who the one with green eyes is..." Meri did not have green eyes, nor did Lionel. Which left only one. "Art isn't the only thing that we have in common. Amnesia is another. It was a couple years ago and I found my way again." Meri does not see the point in going into detail, and this story that she is still not telling is the same reason that she has a blanket hatred for mermaids. "It is a pretty frustrating feeling and I don't know about you, but never did I have so much doubt in like everything. People kept trying to show me things and tell me stories that they wanted me to accept as truth, and if these stories did not make me remember they'd get sad. If I had dreams I don't remember but I was definitely inclined to drawing certain images frequently. So maybe? I didn't really understand what they meant at the time." Meri frowns as she recounts. "And it was so annoying because the oddest things had a way of jogging my memory, like music. It was frustrating how unpredictable the memories were with coming back." A beat. If Brand was telling Khitti certain things, maybe it would be okay to speak a little more freely, "You wrote Brand a song once." Well perhaps it was more than once, Meri is not entirely sure of that detail, but Meri only knew of the one time.

“Brand doesn’t tell me anything. Not really. I can tell when I’m asking too many questions and he just smoothes things over. I don’t dwell on it. Mostly. It’s hard not to when I dream about things. Or when Brand suddenly is encased in a giant water bubble that wasn’t his to begin with.” There’s a story there, one Khitti doesn’t know fully, so she doesn’t go into it. “But, he wants a fresh start. He’s very adamant about it. So, if things were that bad before, then purposefully setting out to try to remember doesn’t feel right, even if I want so badly to do so.” Khitti frowned, lightly tracing her index finger along the lines of Brand’s face. “Starting over is fine, but I just wish I had more to go on. I’m glad, at least, that you guys know who -I- am to an extent because I really can’t tell you. I can tell you that I like reading and drawing and singing and now playing my violin, but it doesn’t -really- tell you who I am. I don’t even know if -I- knew who I was before I lost my memory. And, it also really makes for an awkward first date with Brand, heh.” She studied the bracelet that had been drawn, fixating on that more than anything now. “I really wanted to see the mermaids, didn’t I? Something is missing, though. Something important. I kind of remember an argument. And maybe a fight.”

What Khitti was trying to explain to Meri was both confusing and relatable at the same time. Brand wasn't telling her things though? And yet he was showing her things she used to do little by little? This causes Meri's brows to furrow in confusion, because just what exactly was Brand trying to do with Khitti? She could understand not wanting to dump -all- of the information on the redheaded woman. The temptation to frown is great but Meri resists, if only for Khitti's benefit. Meri is teetering back and forth, starting to wonder if it is right to keep Khitti much in the dark. Her words are carefully chosen, "Deliberately trying to seek out answers doesn't always work. It can lead to nothing but shattered hopes and a slew of frustrations. You want those memories to come back when you see something that is supposed to be familiar to you...and then when they don't, you are just this whole mess of emotions...Or at least I was." Meri shrugs. "Avoiding it is not the answer either though, I don't think." Meri exaggerates a cross-eyed expression. There is a lot that she would like to say, about how what Khitti wants in this should probably outweigh what Brand wants. It's -her- memory, not Brand's. But Meri is still trying to select her words carefully, not wanting to cause too much upset to anyone -- from Khitti to Brand -- for she did not fully understand the situation. "...Especially since you have said started to remember things. Or almost remember things." But Khitti was an independent spirit who did not need Meri sitting there urging her to chase or avoid those memories one way or another. "Something is missing, yes. There was probably a bit of arguing. And there was definitely some fighting."

Brand’s plans were surely going to backfire at some point, but that still remained to be seen. Khitti didn’t understand what Brand was doing anymore than Meri (or even maybe Brand) did. She did nod eventually though to Meri’s mention of her getting frustrated and having her hopes shattered. “Yeah. It is really frustrating, but I guess I just need to be patient. Trying to remember most times just gives me a headache.” She shrugged, eyeing the sketchpad again with her own rendition of Meri’s drawng on it. “Hrm.” Well--wait. Duh. How else would Meri know about this little scene from Khitti’s memories if she wasn’t there herself? “It’s you.” She thought about it a little more and then it hit her. On her own picture, she started drawing Meri into the scene. The blonde did not seem happy about Khitti dangling the bracelet over the side at all. When she finished, she sat back and eyed her work, then smirked at the blonde beside her, “You can only leave that picture here if you finish it first.”

Meri nods in acceptance of the first part of what Khitti has to say, most times trying to remember gave Meri a headache too. It's not a subject that Meri wants to linger on for much longer, because, again, Khitti was her own woman. So instead of trying to make Khitti talk more about the frustrating and painful talk of forgotten memories and if she should pursue them or not, Meri finds her way to her feet again. The blonde woman picks up her abandoned piece of charcoal and makes her way back to the picture she has drawn again. This time she begins to sketch herself into it. "Yeah. I mean I guess it is possible you could have told me about this story and I got real creative, but I was there." There and definitely not pleased about Khitti dangling that bracelet over that water, for different reasons than Brand. I mean yes, Khitti's safety was a concern to Meri....because Meri hates mermaids. "All three of us ended up in that water shortly after that moment. It was pretty crazy. There was definitely some fighting. All of us fought some mermaids. In the ocean. Under the water. We had some fancy masks though to keep us from drowning."

Khitti grinned at Meri as she completed the drawing, doing her best to try to recall the mermaid adventure (or near death experience, however you want to look at it) without hurting her head too much. “I guess that explains the tattoo.” She wondered what happened to that bracelet, but she merely shrugged. Maybe it was lost when she went missing. Who knows? Brand definitely knows, but she doesn’t know that. He likely wouldn’t tell her either. “I’m glad you agreed to help me with my art and I’m sorry things are still foggy. Maybe it’ll clear up soon?” Khitti offered Meri that smile of hers--if there was anything truly different about this Khitti, it’s that she seems happier--and finally grabbed that sandwich she’d made for herself, doing away with it rather quickly. “Oh! I almost forgot. There’s another cheesecake for you to take when you leave. You can leave my half of the supplies you brought and then you won’t have so much to carry!”

Meri gives a slight shake of her head when Khitti says 'that explains the tattoo' for that was not the entire story, not to Meri's understanding. The redhead's apology earns her an empathetic smile, no apology was needed. It would be nice to whole Khitti whole again but at least she was alive? And the last bit that Khitti has to say, that is met with a chuckle and a wink. And then once Khitti is done speaking her part, Meri pipes up. It's during this explanation that Meri moves back to the table full of supplies and begins separating out what is staying and what is going -- and to be honest, most of it is staying. Meri will take that second easel, Khitti probably didn't need two. But yeah, why would Meri not be generous with her friend? ...That's how people can tell that Meri actually considers them a friend. Yup. "You had the idea for your tattoos before our encounter with the mermaid, but I must say that she did definitely have an influence on the design. I don't think you would have chosen the colors that you did if not for her. Something about your favorite fairy tale? Or being obsessed with fairy tales. You were excited to actually get to meet a real mermaid, either way. And yes, that is a great idea. I think I will leave a lot of this here. I don't want to carry it back. And you're damn straight I am taking the cheesecake. I don't think the last cake you left me with made it through the night. My guy and I were fatties that night. Hopefully I don't eat it all on the way home..."

Khitti stuffed her face as Meri set to work sorting things out, “Hm. Probably the fairy tales, yes. Brand and I are actually going to a Halloween party in Vailkrin. We’re going as that mermaid and her prince, from the story.” She was definitely excited. She didn’t know how long it’d been since the last time she’d went to an event like that--it’d been a loooooong time, for the record--but she wanted to see how the city of vampires celebrated such a holiday. With her sandwich finished finally, she went to a side table by the couch and grabbed a leather pouch from on top of it. “Oh, and this is for you too.” There’s money inside. A lot. “Hopefully it covers the cost of the art stuff. I can certainly give you more if it’s not. Apparently I’d had quite a bit before I went missing. Managed to pay off that wench Mrs. Mallard when I quit. She’s not at all as nice as she appears to be.”

Meri accepts the money, if only because she knows that Khitti is not the sort to take no for an answer, but the gold is ultimately set aside for the time being. No interest in counting it to determine if Khitti owes more than what is being given, not a top concern. Once Meri has packed up the few items that she does want to take, she fixes her gaze back on Khitti. The first part makes her smile, it was good that Khitti and Brand were reconnecting. "That sounds like a fun time, Vailkrin is not really a place that I like to venture to all the much so I doubt that you and I will see each other there. But I hope that it is a good time for the both of you." A beat, Meri tilting her head slightly to one side. "Mrs. Mallard was giving you troubles? Really?....Mrs. Mallard? ...That bakes such sweet things?"

Khitti and Brand would come to find out that it was not as fun of a time at that Halloween party as one might expect, but… that’s just how parties and balls and the like go in Lithrydel it seemed. “Oh, she’s a horrid woman, Meri. I’m certain she just took me in as a PR stunt to keep her name and shop relevant. In the beginning she was all nice and smiles and such, but when I started working for her, she was just awful.” She frowned a little, “I was so in debt to her, between owing her for lodging at the inn and needing new clothes and such, that she cut my pay by over half, and some days, I barely had enough money to eat. She’s horrible to the rest of her employees too. With as busy as that place gets, they should certainly be paid more, but she’d rather line her own pockets.”

Meri was obviously having a hard time believing this, but if this is what Khitti was saying then...she'd take Khitt's word over her own impression of someone she hardly knows any day. "Well, I am glad that you managed to get your way out of there. You want to own your own bakery, not work for someone who is going to mistreat you." Meri shrugs her shoulders lightly. By now the woman was finished packing up and though she was in no rush to run off, the longer she put it off, the later it would get, and the colder dinner would be by the time that she got home. If she did not fill up on on cheesecake on the way...Naw, it would make it home for dessert. She can share. "Suppose lining pockets is half the point of owning a business but that doesn't mean you need to mistreat people in the process. I guess I won't be eating there anytime soon...Anyway chick, I should hit the road. When you are ready for your next round of art lessons, you just let me know. I can come out, you can come out. Whatever is clever." The items that are going back home with Meri are taken into her possession, bag over shoulder, easel under arm.

Khitti nodded at Meri’s words, “I definitely want to do that. I need to talk to the realtor in town here and see if there’s some place small I can afford.” As the blonde stood to leave, Khitti smiled and stood too, “Whatever they can make there, I can do here on the ship too. The majority of the ingredients I already have here, or doesn’t cost much to get, so if you’re feeling like you need some sweets, just send a raven with a list and I’ll have some sent to you.” She certainly wouldn’t be charging Meri either. It’s not like she didn’t bake for damn near a hundred crew members on the Tranquility; one more wouldn’t hurt. “Travel safe,” was said lastly, and she’d even attempt a hug if Meri allowed it--well, as best as she could anyway with the stuff she was holding, “We’ll definitely see each other soon.”

That hug is returned, albeit briefly and with one arm because Meri is still carrying gear. She is leaving a lot of things behind, like that picture, a bunch of supplies...Oh and that gold that Khitti was trying to pawn off on her. "You've got it. And if you want someone to go check out potential business spots with you, just let me know. I do have a little bit of experience on that front." Meri wiggles her brows and then shows herself out, she has a decent knowledge of her way around the ship by now. She does not know every nook and cranny like Brand does, but she won't be getting lost either. "I'll see you soon."
