RP:Stumbling upon Babysitters

From HollowWiki

Summary Emilia is passing the tavern with her children when Lynn flys into Aarika as she leaves the Kelay Tavern, knocking them both down. Once everyone is up, items are picked up, and a short conversation Emilia offers to help Aarika build a house in her chosen location in return for the other woman's children, who did make the offer, babysitting her three kiddos.

Aarika 's squire would be seen exiting the tavern first. He was a young man who couldn't have been over 17. He still had that boyish face and his jagged brown hair fell just above his swampy green eyes. He carried two packs, his and Aarika's. Next to follow were a blonde boy and a girl, clearly twins and clearly a product of Aarika who brought up the rear of their travelling train. The children chatted amongst themselves still gossiping over the ogre who's stench flooded the tavern. "So now we have scooped up our dinner, let us find a camp." Her voice was sweet as honey as she mussed her son's flaxen hair lovingly.

You walked along the path out front of the tavern with her arms full. Each arm held a small toddler no older than two that were mirror images of each other from their black hair to their deep forest green wings and tails that swished at the same time. Giggling and flying ahead of the ghostly white woman was a little girl with crazed black curls and mis-matched blue and green eyes. The tiny tot giggle without paying much attention to where she was going so long as she was out of mother's reach. It was this lack of attention that sent the half-dragon child in a direction crashing course for Aarika as she stepped out of the tavern.

Aarika was too focused on clearing the swing of the taverns door to notice the toddler until it was too late. They collided, Aarika dropped their groceries and knocked down the the poor girl. It didn't stop there suddenly she found herself gazing at the clouds while screams of a child began to ring in her ears,"Oh no!" She cried as she shot up to her feet, instinctively her arms scooped Emilia's daughter off the ground and back on her feet, "Are you ok?" She asked concerned as her hands began to dust the child's cloths clean, "I'm so sorry." Now Emilia was addressed. It was obviously an accident from the expression she wore while her cheeks flushed pink. Behind her the twelve year old twins began loading their arms with sausages, bread and canteens. "Sheesh, mum." Arius poked and Herny shook his head. Leralynn was next to join her mother's side in attempts to console the mini Emi.

Emilia watch with horror as the two collided, crashed, and the tiny crying shrieks of her little one echoed into the air. The Genasi wasn’t much bigger than a young child herself as she hurried bare feet along the dirt path toward the grouping with her mini-me only with her father’s dark hair. "Oh, I am so sorry!" The ice-woman said quickly while talking with her hands from beneath the little lads she carried. Her pack that carried the tots things had in the run busted a hole, leaving a trail of snacks, diapers, and clothing in her wake. "Lynn, Momma warned you about watching where you fly, especially in town." Then she was looking at the other mother and children, "I am sooo sorry." Even though her arms were full she reached out with those frozen hands of her for the third one. Lynn was more startled than anything, a tiny bump on her head but nothing major. The boys, just laughing away with their tiny giggles.

Aarika smiled sweetly as she stared at the toddler for a moment, she remembered when her twins were that age. It had her looking to her mimics maternally, "Luckily they are almost indestructible at that age." Her hand raked through her golden mane before she noted the Hansel and Gretel path following the other mother, "We seems to be more the mess." She would chuckle before gathering the poor pack mules belongings. Henry would drop the bags to his feet with a thud and joined Aarika with the scavenger hunt, "I'm Aarika." She introduced with her hands full of the other woman's belongs, " I think your bag is open, or there's a rip."

Emilia raised a brow at the woman’s comment before watching her and one of hers go about picking up her things that she didn’t even know had fallen. Shifting children she positioned Lynn her little girl on her shoulders and then with a bit of luck and complaining toddler boys onto the ground to stand next to her, "Sometimes day trips with three isn’t the easiest," she admitted before taking the pack off her shoulder to examine it to see what the problem was. A rip, running her hand over the fabric a few times she put a thin layer of ice over it, a short term patch. Leo and Liam giggling as they let go of their mum to follow like ducklings behind Aarika, picking up rocks when she picked up real items. Looking to the blonde mother the ice woman flashed a smile, "Emilia, but I go by Emi to most."

Aarika 's daughter piped up first, "I could help you watch the kids some time." Aarika's smile grew to a grin as she proudly watched her daughter attempt a babysitting job. She was thankful Leralynn was learning the value of money and working for it, "It's nice to meet you." Aarika dipped her head before resting her hand upon the preteen's shoulder. "Me too!" Piped up Arius as he peeked around his mother wishing to not be left out. Henry remained silent keeping his gaze to Aarika as he studied her every move, eager to learn anything.

Emilia watched as Leralynn was first greeted by a tiny winged boy reaching up to grab her hand while his mirror image grabbed up for Arius’ hand. In a tone almost bone chilling sinister, trait from their father, the boys spoke in unison, “Mine!” Claiming of the other twins as theirs. Setting Lynn down on her feet the Genasi moved to offered the patched back open to the other to return the picked up items, “It is nice to meet you three.” A pause as she stared around at all the people standing about their small area before turning eyes back on the preteen twins, “I live down in Gualon so as long as your mother is alright with the travel you are more than welcome to come sit the little ones while I tend to the farm duties. You are all also welcome to staying at the ranch, plenty of extra rooms.”

Aarika scratched her head again as she began to explain her situation, "I was away for a while and there father and I are no longer together. He lives in Vailrin but I am a creature of the sun." Arius didn't like to hear about his parents splitting while Leralynn was more accepting. Arius would grab the toddler by both hands as he started to spin in circles swinging the child with him as he laughed madly, "So I am house hunting and these guy are helping me. I want them to have a nice place to call home." She hadn't planned to stay in Hollow that was up until she learned her children and Shishi were still alive, "Can you suggest any areas perhaps?" She questions with a tilt of her head. "We were looking in Sage but we are almost open for anything."

Emilia turned an eye toward the spinning pair of boy and older boy. It was pleasing to the woman to hear those giggles from the little one. Mind you this would make the other lad jealous and starting to whine “Me too! Me too! Spin spin spin!” As he yanked and tugged at Leralynn’s hand. Turning her gaze toward the other woman she raised a brow. “Oh, well I fancy a good deal of places. I have a home in Larket being rebuilt, a home in Gualon which I adore, a home in Sage that isn’t really mine but I stay there anyway, a room in Ara in Larket, a home in Venturil but the heat kills me so I don’t stay there, possibly buying a weekend home on Ryvnale for beach trips and such, and a greenhouse up in Frostmaw....” The farmer really did have a foothold in many town across the land, “But, I don’t know of anything really for sale sale in the area.” A pause, “Tell you what I do know though, is that if you find a piece of land that you and the kiddos fancy I will help you build a home that is to your personal liking in exchange for some babysitting from these two lovely ones of yours.”

Aarika 's eyes widened as the woman listed off her estates, "Wow you must be quite the traveller. And very well off." She tacked on while Leralynn complied to the shouting toddler's wants and desires. Aarika found herself trapped between spinning children afraid to move for another collision, "Why don't you two...four give me a just a little more space?" It would be moments until the executed their mother's polite order, "That sounds like a fair trade. I was hoping to stay near Vailkrin or near the portal so they do not have to be so far from their father and I am near as well." She wouldn't even begin the struggles of being a single mother.

Emilia watched the four spinning children slowly space themselves to a safer distance from the adults and the third child just standing there staring up at Aarika with those mis-matched blue and green eyes of hers. “I haven’t been to Vailkrin in awhile...last time some vampire man chased me and another down trying to eat us...but very well. We will find you a location either within Vailkrin or just on the other side of the portal where the sun shines and keeps the children close enough to visit their dad.” A small belated shoulder shrug, “I am a farmer and do business all over the lands which provides well enough and my husband has been banking for centuries and then some. We are well off enough, no worries.” A smile, “However, we must be heading off or we won’t reach our destination in time. I shall send a letter in soon time with some sitting hours and keep an eye out for a place that fit yours needs for location.”

Aarika popped down to a crouch as she inspected the little girl, Lynn, once more. Her hand gently brushed her hair from her face to inspect the small lump, "Just put some ice on it." She gave a grin recalling how the woman patched her bag, "Well lady Emilia it was a pleasure and I do look forward to our next, less aggressive..." A finger bopped the girls nose, "encounter." She rose with a nod before she addressed her preteens, "Ok don't make them sick." She advised before giving Henry a message, "Let's get to camp." He didn't skip a beat, both rucksacks were up and balanced on each arm. The older twins release the younger twins slowly while accidentally dragging their feet on the ground. They would wave goodbye before gathering the groceries for the evenings supper. "Until next time." Aarika mirrored her mini's gesture then the pack ventured east.
