RP:Sophie heals Arkanya

Setting

Outside on the roof of Kelay Tavern

3 Sept 2100

The healer arrives but cannot reach her patient

Sophie the healer rushes in from the west rather out of breath having received the message that a woman is seriously injured.

Arkanya wouldn't be noticable right away, afterall she'd been blown onto the roof. But if the healer would look about she'd see the smoke rising from the poor woman. The high elf was laying on the roof, smoke rising from her armor. She couldn't think, could hardy move beyond the random twitching, and if the healer still hadn't found her location, a soft groan would help her find the poor woman. Though how she was going to get on the roof of the tavern was a good question.

Sophie looks up at the burned woman lying on the roof in shocked disbelief. The healer turns to her son Kassy. Run home, and fetch your giant brother Gunnar, tell him his mother needs him to lift her up to reach a patient. "She then calls up to the high elf in a calm voice. "You just relax milday, everything is going to be alright. I'll be up there to heal you soon."

Arkanya didn't have much choice, and even though she could hear the other, she couldn't really understand her, yet alone answer her. Nothing made sense, she was dazed, and wasn't likely to come out of it any time soon, at least not without help. All she could do was groan, and if she was lucky, keep from rolling over the wrong way and falling off the roof.

Sophie is lifted onto the roof to begin the long healing task

In about ten mintues, a cart being driven by Griselda the were goat who is Sophie's nanny arrives, sat in the back is the eighteen foot tall giant lad Gunnar. The lad easily lifts his mother up, not quite onto the roof, but high enough that Sophie can grab hold of the, thankfully securely affixed guttering and pull herself up pnto the roof slates, a little slippery from her patient's blood. Crawling carefully over to where Arkanya is lying. She looks over the hideous injuries for a few moments before pulling herself into a kneeling position beside the other elf. The first thing Sophie does is utter a prayer to Daedria to help the badly injured woman. Then she sends her mind, her awareness into the pain centre of her semi-conscious patient's brain. Giving it a gentle squeeze, to send it partially to sleep for a while. This will not, in itself, render the elf unaware of what is going on, though she already seems pretty out of it at present. It will however significantly lessen the agony she must be suffering.

Arkanya lay on the roof, not quite spread eagle, but close enough. Her breathing was short and shallow, sounding pained. As the other leans over her she tries to lift her hand and push the other away, being delierious and still in the frame of mind to do battle this was natural, but her effort was weak and her hand flopped back to the roof of the building. The high elf wasn't awared of the other slipping into her mind magically and working at her pain center, but after a few moments her breathing would become a bit easier and she would start to come around, not quite so dazed.

Sophie realising that the gravely injured woman is becoming more aware of what is going on around her, the druid once more speaks calmly, kindly, gently in an attempt to reassure her that all is well. "I am Sophie the healer. Just relax please, try not to move, just let me take care of your injuries. You are going to be alright." Sophie sincerely wishes she could be completely sure that her patient will survive, never mind be alright, but she knows that Arkanya needs a positive attitude, and to believe in Sophie's ability to help her in order to get through this ordeal. Her healing hands are still in contact with the least burned, non chain mail covered part of the woman she can find. The highly skilled and experienced healer sends restorative life energy, channelled from the trees in Sage Forest all around, and her own mind's awareness into the patients damaged tissue, slowly helping many of the internal burns heal. She concentates on these more serious internal injuries, since she knows she may not have the strength to heal Arkanya completely. So it is wise to focus on the most life threatening of her problems.

Arkanya 's body was only uncovered from her neck on up, the rest of her was covered in chainmail, though thankfully it was all backed with silk, while much of that would need to be replaced, it had left her skin realatively untouched, which meant if she survived, it wouldn't look like she had been so badly injured. But first she had to survied, and if it was all the other could do to heal her internal burns, then she would be alright, she could deal with cracked ribs and being weak for a while. She listened to the other as she spoke and would give a soft nod of her head before laying it back. She closed her eyes, she lifted one hand and wrapped it around the others wrist, offering up her own pool of magic if the other needed it.

Moving on the treat some of the less serious injuries

Sophie continues to channel the druidic restorative energy, plus a little, not too much of Arkanya's own magical energy, to repair the damage to the woman's internal organs. Arkanya is still bleeding a little, though neither her current rate of bloodloss, nor the total amount of vital fliud lost are of great concern to her healer. Luckily the dreadful burns cauterised as they destroyed the flesh for the most part. Sophie is beginning to feel exhausted after concentrating on channeling healing energy for so long. The healer takes regular sips from a vial of the stimulant potion, she always carries at her belt for just such times as this. Leaving the cracked ribs, Sophie now turns her attention to healing the burned skin of her patient, the most important reason for so doing it to prevent infection than might set in otherwise. She helps the energy to flow to where it is needed, to knit together, and in some places completely regrow the burned skin. The patient's skin is now once more unbroken, though not yet as elastic and healty as it should be that will take time to heal. Sophie calls down to her two sons, Kassy and Gunnar who are waiting anxiously below. "Gunnar run to the avian city, say you come from Sophie the healer, they know me there. Ask for four volunteers to fly here to carefully lift an injured lady down from the roof. Kassy get a stagecoach to take our patient to the clinic in Chartsend. I'll pay them extra for having to clean blood out as usual." She then turns and speaks gently to the partially healed woman once more. "You are going to be fine, all your life threatening injuries have been healed. However sadly this humble healer is now too exhausted to also heal your broken ribs. I will stay with you at Gwenilyn's clinic, rest there myself, until either another healer has healed the fractures or I am rested enough to continue treating you."

Arkanya stayed still from then on, concentrating on simply breathing, and giving more energy to the other if she needed it. By the time the other finished with this step she no long felt like she might die, no, now she just felt really raw, well that and her ribs, but after she had been so badly injured she could live with her current condition for the time being. She didn't offer any words, not for the moment, but her eyes conveyed her gratitude, and she gave a nod of understanding. As they waited for the coach to arrive she looked about and pointed to the edge of the roof. There lay her bow, a fine piece of craftsmanship, something she would not want to lose. Beyond that, upon the ground was another thing she would not want to lose, but that wasn't likely. Standing before the tavern was a beautiful silver stallion, almost looking woefully up at Arkanya.

Taking the patient to the clinic in Chartend for further treatment

Sophie nods in understanding the unspoken requests. When young Kassy returns with the stagecoach his mother had requested, she asks the lad. "Kasyr," She rarely uses his full names except for on serious occasions such as this. Pick up the lady's bow and put in in our stagecoach please. Then take her horse to the stables in Larket, pay for several days care for the stallion dear." She throws her human son a bag of gold." Four avians then fly in from the east, carrying the corners of the stretcher. They carefully transport Sophie's patient to the waiting stagecoach. Sophie herself has to wait a few minutes, until Gunnar, not quite as fast as the avian rescue party returns to lift her back down to the ground. She will the join her patient for the journey to the clinic in Chartsend.
