RP:Soothing the Savage Beast

Summary: Alex uses the power of his voice to befriend a new animal ally, a dire bear.

Northern Sage Forest

Alex pushes on through the depths of the sage forest in an exhaustive sprint slapping into branches and briers as he escapes farther and farther from his home in Frostmaw, his destination unclear even to himself as he begins his frantic search for a certain fanged female in hopes of finding aid for the coming war, his only possessions the clothes (and adorable white and brown rat) on his back.

Rounding the corner on this well traveled trail the man is thrown to the ground as he ceases movement in his legs causing him to slam into the dirt with his palms pressed against the earth and a very nervous stare raised up at the cause of his dismay, a massive brown dire bear who has just turned it's attention from the berry bush it was feasting upon to a much tastier and exhausted looking bard.

Rattimus scurries from the human's hood down into his coat pocket with an 'eek!' at the sight of conflict and Alex is forced to rack his brain for ideas quickly as the beast roars then starts barreling towards him.

Memories of the great winter wolf in Frostmaw bowed before him flash like lightning through his mind giving him the strength he needs to push himself to his feet. Holding out shaking arms towards the bear, his voice rings out through the forest in a soft melody that at first seems to have no effect on the enraged creature, yet slowly the intention becomes clear as the bear's sprint slows to a run then a jog and then a walk.

Within seconds the man has his hand pressed against the skull of the feral bear and a smile stained on his lips as he comes to a fantastic realization; he has a new ally in this fight.
