RP:Something About Him Makes me Uneasy

Mage's Library

Misaki, at this point, was just wandering around Xalious trying to clear her mind when she stumbled upon this magnificent library. The moment she stepped in, she was mesmerized by the amount of books, and quiet people who were studying. The avian stretched her wings out, showing off the runes on her wings, and the one between her wings, that she had aquired from Alphonz recently.

Mythayus wasnt paying much attention to his surrounding his only focus was Misaki. He didnt realize that he had left his armor back in his room. He had followed her blindly. No armor, no weapon, if something were to happen the human would not be prepared. His black cotton slack were plain and simiple the same went for the greyish blue cotton shirt he was wearing. His hair was in his signature tight que.

Svilfon shatters the calm serenity of the library by hurling through the door, his robes smouldering, and he is followed almost immediately by a monkey wearing rather fine clothes, topped off with a magnificent top-hat which sits proudly on his head. The wizard rolls a few times, before coming to a stop in the middle of the room, and within moments his pet monkey has climbed onto his chest. The two proceed to have an argument in a chittering, chattering tongue, before at the last the monkey storms away, back out the doors and into the Xalious Village. Svilfon wastes little time in getting to his feet, dusting himself off, before casting his pale gaze around the room. It doesn't take long for him to spot his clansmen, the avian, Misaki, and also Mythayus. The wizard taps a finger against his bottom lip for a moment, before wandering over and speaking – he is apparently unconcerned with the tendrils of smoke which still waft off his robes. “Greetings, Misaki.” He tips his hat to the woman. “What brings you to Xalious?”

Misaki didn't seem to mind Mythayus following her - they were rider and mount - but hte lost look on his face was gettign irritating. Thankfully for him, Svil then captured her attention. "...I was just out walking," she said with a shrug, "have you met my new mount, Mythayus?" she gestured to the dragon-turned-human.

Mythayus focus on Misaki broke. "Huh?" He looked around quite confused as to how he ended up here. He looked down at what he was wearing and his face flushed a bit.

Svilfon nods his head to the woman, before shifting his pale gaze to the dragon. The wizard doesn't bother to hide the scrutiny he gives Mythayus; his eyes looking him up and down, and the smallest of frowns forming beneath his beard. After a long moment he looks back at Misaki and speaks again. "He seems rather confused, and not like other dragons I have known. Are you sure he is worthy to be your mount?" It's clear by his tones he means a mount in the Eyrie, perhaps the greatest aerial fighting force in Hollow. How he knew Myth was a dragon isn't clear, though the fact he is married to a psychotic dragon, and a master of the Mage's Guild, may be answer enough. "He looks like a lost puppy."

Misaki nods. "I have confidence in him," she stated, "we've just... got some troubles to deal with." Not that she would elaborate. "So what are you doing here, Wizard?" she asked, eyeing the smoking robes, "...and are you hurt? I can heal you in necessary..."

Mythayus looked at her sadly, "Yeah, I do love you..." His eyes crossed as a very angry winged viper, flew infront of his face. He quickly grabbed the viper as it tried to bite him. He took the letter that was tied to it. As he read the letter he took a more serous expression. "I'm needed else where..." he sighed. " I will be back."

Svilfon returns the nod with a brief smile that never quite touches his eyes; he trusts the words of his clansmen, and wouldn't ask more about it. To her question, he answers honestly, “The Master's Library did not have the answers I seek, so I thought I would come to this library...” Even though his monkey had already searched it. “And hurt? No, I am fine. He didn't want to hurt me, not really.” Another brief smile flashes the wizard's gaps and fangs, before he extends a hand and prods at the runes on the avian's wings, though not with the intention to actually touch them. “Those are new.” He's interrupted by the viper which delivers the message, and though an eyebrow is quirked, he doesn't ask about it.

Misaki nods once to Myth. "Then I will see you later," she said to Myth, then looked at Svil. "...yes. I, ah... discovered certain gifts I never knew I had. And these were to help me use them." The one on her back didn't look promising, though. Not htat Misaki knew that. She knew next to nothing about runes.

Svilfon ignores the departing Mythayus as he clicks his tongue against the top of his mouth while eyeing the runes, even going as far as walking around the avian to get a better look. When he's returned to his original position he speaks again. "What are these gifts, and who gave you these?" Another frown is forming on the wizard's lips, though he seems unaware of it. "Markos was the Coterie Rune Master, but he taught me some.. things.. I am interested in who would mark you in such a way, and why."

Misaki bit her lip. "...well..." she said, glancing at the other mages in the library, "I... trust you. You remember my crossbow, Satoru?" She paused a moment, then continued. "...I'm... the same as him. A weapon, of sorts. But I do not have a specific weapon form like he does." She bit her lip again. "...I can... wel, if I concentrate hard enough, I can boost magic power of anything or anyone I touch. 'tis how Satoru and I transformed during our fight." She nodded once. "...my friend Al placed these on me... the ones on my wings, he said are to help holding the form longer... because last time I tried on my own, I fainted for a full hour. And the one in the middle, he said links the two together."

Svilfon notices Misaki glancing at the other mages, so before he responds to her he speaks a few words in a loud voice ringing with casual authority. "Leave us." It takes a few moments, but soon enough the library is cleared of all other people - the wizard's high rank in the Mage's Guild affording him the rights to make such demands. "You can boost magic power?" The wizard extends his hand, then, and draws from the air itself his Xalious wood wand. Holding it casually, he carries on speaking. "And with these you can do so longer... It is not unheard of for mages and others to imbue themselves with the power of runes, though these are unlike others I have seen." He is sorely tempted to prod them with his wand, to inject into the runes some magic to see how they react, but he does not. "Do you trust this... Al? It seems to me I have been warned about someone with a similar name by the Lady Alicia, ruler of Chartsend. She also warned me about someone named Myth. Is it dark company you keep, Misaki? Or perhaps mere coincidence that they share a name, and dabble in magic?"

Misaki blinks slowly. "...I am not sure," she replied, "I do know that Myth... Myth is a good person. Al, on the other hand..." She frowned slightly. "..."I don't know. Something about Al makes me a little uneasy. But... Myth seems to trust him." She was eyeing the wand. "...if you want to poke the runes, go ahead," she stated, "I don't think Al would have a particular reason to curse me or anything..."

Svilfon keeps his gaze on Misaki as he replies to her words, “Something about him makes you uneasy...” He nods more to himself than her as he once again walks around the avian, eyeing the runes now with much more scutiny than earlier. “And you do not think he would have a reason to curse you..? You are trusting, Misaki – I would not allow anyone to mark me with runes unless I knew them well.” He smiles at those words, mostly because they are more than likely not true, before he extends his wand and prods one of the runes on her wing. While doing so, he mutters a few quiet words, channeling magic in its rawest form into the rune itself. He is ready with a defensive spell for both himself and the avian, if they explode... but otherwise, the wizard would merely be infusing them with enough magic for them to do what it is they are designed to do...

Misaki tilts her head at the curious sensation in her wing. The rune seemed to be absorbing the magic placed inside, but otherwise it did nothing but glow softly with the energy. "...um... he said that the runes are for storing something called 'ambient magic'," she said, "though I really didn't understand what he was talking about..."

Svilfon pulls his wand away from the rune as it devours the magic he was casting into it, and for the first time the wizard's voice sounds as if he's actually concerned, rather than just curious. He walks back around to the front of Misaki, ensuring he captures her gaze with his own, before speaking again. "If you can imbue others with greater magic than they possess... why would you require runes to devour magic?" The wizard's mind is agile, and it doesn't take him long to make the first logical step. "Tell me, Misaki, have you felt more or less energetic since putting them on you? There are runes which steal magic and feed the one who cast them. If he has done that, then merely by... being you are giving him more power than he should have." He'd wait for answers before prodding that rune between her wings... that one, more than the others, he was wary of, though he doesn't know why.

Misaki shakes her head. "No... I haven't been feeling tired," she said, "and while I boost others, I'm imbuing them with my own strength... so these runes, they allow me to hold onto my form longer." She tilted her head. "...and Al seems pretty strong enough to me already. I don't think he'd stoop to that..."

Svilfon replies in short tones, “Strength is relative.” He nods at that, and the rest of her words, before walking around once more to her back. “Perhaps he has merely done as he said, though I am wary considering the warnings I have received about the man. I have intentions of hunting him down and perhaps killing him,” the wizard doesn't fear telling his clansmen his intentions – he believes loyalty to the clan will ensure she doesn't speak of them to others. “But I have no desire to kill an aspiring mage if he has done no wrong... let us see...” The wizard once again extends his wand, this time touching its tip to the rune in the center of her back. “Tell me what you feel...” As the last word is spoken, once again he imbues the rune with raw magical energy, his gaze watchful to see what happens.

Misaki blinks. "...I don't feel anything," she said, "I don't even feel you.. touching my back." The rune, however, activated. The energy was pushed from the enter rune to the two runes on her wings... and an exact replica of the rune appeared somewhere on Svil's body.

Svilfon can feel the magic of the rune seeking to mark his own body, though the wizard is too heavily defended against such things for it to work. Even still, it breaks his concentration as he focuses through his powerful wand, so much so that he stumbles back and waves his hand before his body, as if trying to ward off the onslought of some kind of invisible swarm. After a long moment, he stops and draws in a breath his body no longer requires, before speaking again. “I must admit, Misaki... my knowledge of runes is not enough to discern their true nature, if it is different than what he said it would be... It is strong magic, in its own way... strong enough that my ignorance may destroy one of us before the truth is learned.” He shakes his head, as if shrugging something off; an inflection within his mind, a whispering that he knows is silent yet there, before he speaks again. “Be wary, Misaki... I will try to find answers if questions are there, but... be wary.” It's rather clear the wizard has been made exhausted by fighting off the rune's attempt at marking him.

Misaki frowned, turning to look at Svil. "...well..." she stated, "are you alright? do you need something to drink?" She was alreay reaching in her bag for some kind of liquor.

Svilfon frowns at Misaki, “A drink... no, no...” He shakes his head some, before wanding over and sitting down. “I am sorry I cannot help you, Misaki...” His eyes shut as a boring pain begins to drive into hs forehead. “I think... I think I need some air, some rest. Yes.” He attempts a smile at the avian, though the look doesn't portray much beyond the wizard's pain. “I will look into this all, Misaki. And if this Al does anything else, do let me know.” He tips his hat, before getting to his feet – legs clearly more than a little unsteady. “Some air... yes, some air.”

Misaki automatically reached for the wizard to help him. "Let me help you at least," she said, then hesitated. "...you mentioned killing Al." She frowned. "...well... I'd have to ask you to wait on that. Because... I need him. In order to get Satoru back."

Svilfon offers a nod of thanks as he uses the avian's arm to help pull himself to his feet, though he lets it go quickly when he's standing. Another frown forms on his lips as he hears her words, though he nods his head to them regardless. "If you ask it, I will not seek his death... unless he tries to harm Frostmaw, Xalious, The Eyrie or the Mage's Guild. Those are crimes which demand death, but anything else... I will not. You have my word." He seals that with a hat tip, before looking sideways at Misaki. "Satoru is... lost?" His gaze shifts to the door - he very much wanted some air and quiet to think, but he was curious about the crossbow. He did like Satoru.

Misaki nods. "...remember her told you of his homeworld... the nightmare realm, as Chakor puts it?" She nodded once. "A few of his 'buddies' snatched him away to fight in a war... I intend to go there and snatch him back, even if I have to fight against the nightmares themselves." She glanced at the door. "...if you wish, we can take this conversation outside," she said.

Svilfon ignores her question about taking the conversation outside, and instead replies to the rest of her words. "I remember, I think." He falls silent for a moment, remembering back over their conversation. "And you will seek to go there... and fight the nightmares? I suppose I too would go to such lengths to recover an ally of mine." He nods, quietly re-evaluating Misaki as he does. "I can not offer you any aid in this, I do not think. Too many responsibilities here hold me in shackles stronger than iron... but perhaps there is something I could give you which may be of help... I would have to find it, though." He nods again then, more to himself than her. "Is this... Al... the one who is going to open the portal?"

Misaki nods again. "He is," she stated, "though he said he cannot guarantee we will land in a safe place... but two out of the four of us who are going have wings." She msiled a little. "And perfectly able to carry the other two, I should think."

Svilfon hmms for a moment, before speaking again. "Just ensure he doesn't open the portal in Frostmaw of here in Xalious. Doors often open both ways, and there's enough trouble about without adding more." He nods at that, and smiles again, the look entirely crooked. "And make sure you don't take any alcohol with you... bringing back a drunk Satoru will be entirely too much work, I think." Despite it all, he snickers a little at that.

Mythayus Walks back in to the library, he was clear angry upset. He made his way to stand next to Misaki and offered a smile, trying to controll the dragon's rage that was currently boiling his blood. "So what'd i miss" His demeanor changed to a light hearted one though his eyes were still burning.

Misaki giggles at Svil's comment of bringing back a drunk Satoru. "OH, he'd certainly be a chore," she stated, then looked at Myth. "...nothing much, really," she stated, "though we'll have to go hunting for a place to open a portal to Satoru... preferrably not in Frostmaw or Xalious." She then tilted her head. "...is there something wrong?"

Svilfon spends just a moment looking at Mythayus, clearly enjoying the sight of him angry far more than he did when he was docile; that was how dragons should look, the wizard is sure!-, before he looks back at Misaki. “Don't you know it.” He grins and tips his hat, before speaking to them both. “I will leave you two now, to discuss what it is troubles your mount. I'll contact you when I can, Misaki, if my research finds any answers to the many questions.” He smiles one last time, nods once to Mythayus, before simply vanishing, leaving in his wake nothing but a small cloud of smoke which doesn't take long to entirely fade away.
