RP:SiDD’s Acoustic Guitar

From HollowWiki

Summary: Brennia gifts SiDD with a surprise of something he's been missing since he’s arrived in Lithrydel.

Traveling Coach

This simple looking mahogany carriage looks normal from the outside behind the group of six Pegasus and just by a glance one might assume it was a carriage for Avian dignitaries or something. As a student or professor (since those are the only ones frequenting the carriage) you would enter the coach via a turn of a gold and platinum handle which gives of a sort of magical hum at the request. Up the steps and through the threshold you would find that this isn’t some average carriage at all as it seems you just stepped into a living caboose (like a train). The walls are lined with panels of mahogany wood and windows are draped heavily in dark velvet curtains in the front of this area, but adequate light is given off by firefly sconces. Plenty of couches and armchairs follow a minibar which is next to a large covered bird cage. Further down the long caboose there are six double-berth compartments containing a total of twelve soft feather-beds, heavy light blocking curtains for privacy, footlocker storage and their own touch activated firefly lights. Simply luxurious and efficient to which we would associate to any popular musician’s tour bus.

Brennia | The coach was sent out to find Sidd on Rynvale island and stops before the construction sight of the Rynvale Theater. The bunch of large strong looking pegasus drop down and Axton stops working as if on Queue in order to walk over the carriage. The driver within greets Axton just before the mason waves while asking, “I wasn’t expecting Madame Smyth! What’s this about?” He asks almost in a panic, but the driver simply hops down and holds the carriage door open, “Miss Smyth would like to invite you and the working crew for a lunch at the college.” Axton looks flattered and even gasps as the coachman pulls a note from his pocket, “and I’m to make sure a Mister… Sidd, is included.” The flattery drops from Axton's face before moving to glance inside the carriage at all of its luxury and magic, “are you sure? They are all dirty and will ruin this beautiful interior!” The driver shrugs, “I don’t know about all that. I’ll I know is that I need to pick you guys up and take you up to the castle.” Axton sighs before turning and walking back over to the workers, “let's go men! Madame Smyth calls on us.” Pointing at Sidd, “you especially.”

Sidd had been hanging out on the roof of the theater, nursing an afternoon beer when the carriage pulled up. It looked awfully fancy, and it definitely piqued his interest. Carefully he used his tether and harness to scale down the side of the building until he hit the ground, the harness slipped off then with ease. He approached Axton with beer in hand, one brow arched as he asked, "Whassup?" When the mason called out for everyone to board, and said 'especially you', Sidd looked a little puzzled but would not protest. "Uh... okay?" This may have been a little weird, but he trusted Axton for the most part. Sidd hurried to pick up his bag, took a sniff of his pits to make sure he was good to go, and quickly followed the rest of the workers onto the carriage wondering exactly where they were off to.

Brennia | By the time they reached the castle it seems that the workers will be having a later lunch, but they could probably help themselves to the refreshments on the living caboose to hold them over. Once they arrive the driver shows them into the luxurious castle of the Bards college and then makes his way back out in order to tend to the Pegasuses, but Brennia takes over from there, greeting the overzealous Axton. “Merry meet everyone,” that usual sultry alto timbre seems to swim on the air all around the tired hard working men. Once those Liberty eyes set on Sidd, her smile shifts to a more genuine one and she folds her wings in tighter to her curvaceous form to keep from hugging him in front of his worker buddies. “Sidn-“ she catches herself, “how are you? Before you join them I have something that might interest you.” Yeah. he might get some serious side eye from his co workers just before she motions to the archway at the far end of the ovalesque shaped main hall, “through there is where you will find a feast the chefs whipped up for your hard work.” After they start meandering away Brennia links her arm through SiDD’s and makes their way up one of the staircases hugging the curve of the walls up to her classroom on the second floor. “I hope you haven’t had any run ins with people who happen to have an ugly eye tattoo on them…” making small talk.

Sidd slowly stepped out of the carriage, careful not to mess up his hair on the way out- He spent a little time on it in the morning and had it standing just they way he liked it. From his backpack he pulled out his long sleeve button down shirt and slipped it on, not bothering to fasten the buttons so that it hung open. With sleeves being rolled up to the elbow, Sidd looked upon the castle with amazement. He was stunned, really. He hadn't seen such a structure of this size before- Not that he could recall. As Brennia made her appearance, the human finally clued in, smiling toward the avian with a polite nod. The greeting was returned in his usual smart ass manner, two thumbs pointed at himself as he spoke to those envious co-workers. "That's right. I'm awesome. Bask in it." A few of the workers were definitely cheesed off, but those they had gotten to know would simply roll their eyes and laugh. "What's shakin' Brennia?" he asked shortly after, following along with the woman for a stroll up the staircase. He made no objection to her arm entwined in his, a gentle shrug accompanying his reply. "Well. Not exactly. Seen a few people, like those guys on the beach, stalking around the Inn now and again. Pretty sure they've been checking me out. After what went down with that jackass, I wouldn't be surprised." He laughs, "Anyway, so how've you been? Nice place, by the way.”

Brennia adores his unusual charm, “you clean up nice,” and hesitates to answer how she’s been. Heartbroken all over again, “I’m here.” They’ve reached the door to her classroom and it’s desolate in there with the large windows of the room painted black…. Matter of fact all the windows in the college are and if it weren’t for the firefly sconces and candelabras it would probably be near impossible to see. “They better not give you any trouble,” her bardic powers bubble up in her tone and a small trace of fear would be felt. The clearing of her throat before she closes the empty classroom door behind them and made her way down the levels of rows of her lecture room. There’s a hard looking case sitting on the top of her desk at the end of the room, “I set aside this as I remembered our first encounter.” She unlatched the black case, offering up a blank canvas, “and it has no personality yet, but I think you’ve got enough to go around.” Her playful manner returns with those words as she pulled free a beautiful acoustic guitar yet to be painted, ready for SiDD’s imagination and hands it over to him. “You seemed to really miss this?” She said it in way that was asking if it was okay to gift him something like this.

Sidd chuckles at the compliment afforded by the avian. "Yeah, I guess. Caught me in the middle of the work day, so I thought I might as well look... kinda... not so slobby." Torn knees, under shirt had holes in it- Still slobby, but better. When they entered the classroom, he looked first to the windows with confusion. "Uh, mood lighting?" he asked, pointing toward his observation. Then as she spoke of those mysterious strangers with that tone of power, he reminded himself- Do not piss off this woman. The click of the door shutting caused the human to look slightly suspicious, curious as to what exactly she had brought him up here for. Was there something darker at play? Was he about to be murdered?! Wait, did he charm the woman a little too much? His thoughts ran rampant. It wasn't until she began to speak when she reached her desk that he realized what was happening. As soon as that gorgeous instrument came out of the case, he stood there, stunned. It would take a moment for the human to come crashing back down to reality, his first step a little on the woozy side but immediately stabilized. Sidd made his approach, unable to speak until the smooth wooden instrument was in his grasp. His voice cracked. "B-Brennia... for r-real?" He admired the guitar, gaze trailing its length for a moment before he would soon find those liberty blues in that dimly lit room. Suddenly, without warning, Sidd was on the attack. He lunged toward the woman and wrapped one arm around her waist, giving her the tightest and most appreciative of hugs. This was not something that would happen often. "Man. I don't know what to say. Just. THANK YOU. So much. Jeeze, man. If I wasn't so great I would cry." He let loose a laugh. "You're the best, seriously. Like. Whenever I can repay you, I totally will." He slipped away from her then, letting loose a mighty and loud, "WHOOOO! HELL YEAH!!" It wouldn't be all that much to assume that anyone in the vicinity could easily hear the guy.

Brennia gently reminded him, “something like that, and not wanting to die from the sun.” She let out a raspy giggle and definitely accepted that hug, velvety wings included. She watched him elate all over the place, “I considered having it painted black, but the more I thought about it you would probably like it pink! But by then there was no time,” she was smirking with a wink at him to prove she was joking she picked up the inked quill from her desk and scribbled something discreet on the inside of the guitar case. Something he would only be able to find whenever he looked for it and it reads ‘for dearest Sidney and endless inspiration, from Brennia.’ His talk of repaying her was met with the shaking of her head and a playful glare, “nonsense! I’d like to consider you a friend and friends just do things for each other.” A shrug, “all I ask is your friendship, Sidney.” Now that they are alone it’s okay to play with his name like she usually does upon gilded tongue. Yeah don’t mess with Brennia, but also, don’t mess with her friends - so there’s that. “Oh yeah,” heeled steps click her stance around her desk and she pulls out a small velvet pouch. She’s currently sporting a librarian look - high waisted pencil skirt, white blouse tucked into it and a pair of spectacles folded on the v cut of her shirt. “I had these crafted. Now they shouldn’t break easy, but just in case you lose one or two I had an assortment made.” She walks close to him again and opens the top of the pouch to reveal an array of very finely carved picks made out of bone. He could literally have a bone to pick. All different colors and some of them patterned.

Sidd was in a state of euphoria by this point. This was probably the nicest gift he had ever received- Yes including that time Stacey Masterson took him out back into the alleyway behind The Dungeon and gave him an 'early birthday gift'. He didn't quite notice the scribble on the inside of the case at first, something he would discover later. "Nah, this is like, perfect. I mean, I can always doodle and add to it as I go, y'know? be like a travel journal." He calmed down a little, yet with that smile still spread ear to ear. He looked upon Brennia adoringly, his next words assuring her, "Friends? Yeah. No. Totally. After this, we're gahd damned best friends 'til the end. I am absolutely floored by this, Brennia." As the avian moved around her desk, Sidd began to pluck the strings lightly, fingers dancing along various chords with a special branded quickness. It had been quite some time, but he was sure it wouldn't take too long to get back into the swing of things. When the picks were offered, he glances into the pouch and exclaims, "Oh hell yeah! THese are great!!" A grin, "Did I ever mention that you were the best?!" Okay maybe that euphoria was bouncing back again.

Brennia nods once with a smile at his idea to paint and decorate his instrument as he travels along the lands of Lithrydel. She always feels a sense of completion when someone is so overjoyed and the fact that she has any part of it is just icing on the cake. His compliments were only met with a blush and smiling, “hah, thank you Sidney.” She starts up the stairs while mentioning, “feel free to work out your muse in here as long as you wish. If you’re hungry there’s a feast down in the main hall… I’m going to go eat.” Obviously she likes eating - you don’t get dangerous curves like that from flying! She stops, pivots back to him and pulls free a musical note shape key, “only my closest friends, fellow professors and guild members have access to this part of the castle. If you feel like staying a night or two to play with your new instrument then I’ll smooth things over with Axton for you.” A wink and caress on his sharp angled cheek before the clicking of her heels escort her out of the empty classroom. Okay, she may have smoked a little earlier and she’s got the munchies - don’t hate.

Sidd's stomach began to grumble at the mention of food. His liquid lunch didn't exact help him in any regard, and before he could properly chow down, he was whisked away to Brennia's place of residence. "Food is good. I could use food." He would carefully put the guitar back in its case for the time being, not quite wanting to lug it down to the dining area, lest he get even more of those jealous and envious stares. "Whoa. Really?" he asked when she spoke of the key. Would sure beat staying at the Inn, as he could practice in peace! "That would be really awesome, Brennia. Okay so like, you're now better than the best. I mean, damn. I can not describe how much this means to me." He smiled brightly before his stomach began to cuss him out, and he promptly made for the exit behind the caramel woman so that he too could go grab something to snack on.
