RP:Shishi no Sushi

From HollowWiki

Summary: Magik plays Mediator once more to set a meeting up between Shishi and Tessa. Also, Shishi doesn't really like sushi but is polite enough to accept the offered snack. What a guy!

Frozen Road

The scenery remains unchanged here, the road still lined with sturdy homes and transversed by armored Frost Giants. As seems to be eternal in Frostmaw, the skies above are shrouded in thick storm clouds that blot out the sun while snowfall drifts toward the frozen ground. To your north-east you see a rather large building, the smell of fresh stew winding through the cold air. Robust laughter and the hint of warm fire can be glimpsed whenever the building's front door opens, marking this building as the city's tavern. Following this path north seems to be the best way to get to the tavern, while another path leads west toward the center of Frostmaw.

Shishi and Magik have exchanged a couple of rounds of notes/letters over the past day or two that have led up to them meeting here in Frostmaw any moment now. The assassin isn't positive what it is that his old(est?) friend wants to have a talk about, but given their last encounter, Shishi thinks it might have something to do with ending the vampiric curse, though he won't be too surprised if this is about something else. The Titan doesn't particularly trust his own intuition. Speaking of being a vampire, Blue is out here, choosing the side wall of Frostmaw tavern as their meeting place with no regard for the living's reaction to the bitter cold. He's dressed as he always is, with no protection from the frigid temperatures, because frostbite is maybe not possible to contract as a vampire? Nevertheless, Shish is here, waiting for Magik, and doing his usual idle routines; mocking Wakka, puffing out his cheeks, and poking at his top left fang with his tongue…

Magik took his black smoky form as he exited the Syndicate of Shadows headquarters way back in Kelay. He didn't necessarily have to make a violent flight to Frostmaw that disrupted numerous trees and snapped a bunch of weak branches in his wake, but it is what it is. The Lyastri did a quick lap around center-city Frostmaw until he spotted the legend himself. The one and only Titan of Winter. Unless, there was another? He wasn't sure how the whole tournament went about crowning new champions and such to be honest. Anyways. He spotted his old friend, Shishi. The black smoke trail quickly collected itself just a few feet infront of the elder vampire. The smoke cleared and a Magik appeared in his casual garb. Simple black shirt, leather pants, and black work boots. Black was an obvious theme for the Lyastri. Anyways. The former vampire appeared with a small plate in one hand, "Sushi?"

Shishi is the current Titan of Winter. There have definitely been previous Titans, but he has never faced any. There is some debate about what to call each years' winner of the tournament, but officially that title does not appear to be Titan of Winter, though Blue kind of thinks it should be. Semantics aside, Magik appears and offers raw fish with rice. The assassin has never been a huge fan of seafood, even when he lived on Rynvale Island where it was supposedly best. (No one should be trusting sushi in landlocked Vailkrin, that is for sure.) He plucks up a single piece with his left hand and pops it into his mouth unceremoniously. He doesn't look like he is particularly enjoying the taste, and talks with his mouth full, "Thanks. So what's up?"

Magik also has a piece of sushi but is obviously enjoying it a bit more than Shishi. Eyes closed, a satisfied exhale of breath, 'maybe' a slight moan..Maybe. The poor elf is getting caught up on all the sushi he missed out on for the decade he was less living and feeding on blood and such. However, the Lyastri quickly swallows the tasty treat, "Well, first, old friend, how the hell are ya? Secondly, what's the beef with Quintessa Dragana?" There was no hostility in his voice. Just a bro asking another bro what the deal was. Magik was a little saddened that Shishi wasn't fully enjoying his piece of sushi so he points at two other pieces on the plate, "Shrimp and..that one's eel."

Shishi shrugs at the first question. "Fine, I guess. Still waiting to see if Vexar will challenge me. Then after the fight I have t-..." Magik asks about Tessa and Blue goes silent. He quickly takes the eel piece and throws it in his mouth. Another cringing face and he explains, "It's salty." He swallows and frowns. " I don't know if there is a beef yet, but if she's a Dragana then she's my-..." He cuts himself off again and thinks for a second. He sighs, his undead breath not steaming out of his mouth like it does form the living, "I just need to talk to her. Find out where Lar is."

Magik takes the shrimp roll and searches for the tail. No tail. Down the hatch it goes. The elf nods to signify that he's listening. He would offer another piece of awesomeness but it's obviously not Shishi's style. When the vampire offers to have a chat with Quintessa, the elf's fiery eyes light up yet remain black. Don't ask how that works. It's magic. It's neat. "Yes. Absolutely. I am more than willing to set up a nice -peaceful- chat between you two. I'm also willing to be there, somewhere. Just incase things get out of hand. I don't think they will. I hope they don't. Tessa's been taking some meditation lessons from me. It works sometimes but.." Now Magik's just rambling. The elf clears his throat, "Anyhow. I'll set that up." The Lyastri warmly smiles. The possibility of two of his friends not getting along broke his freshly awakened heart. Realizing he's awkwardly holding an empty plate he slips it into his pack hanging off of his side. It'd be rude to litter.

Shishi in no way trusts himself to keep a meeting between himself and someone throwing out the Dragana name peaceful, and based on his brief interactions with Quintessa, he isn't so sure she could be trusted with that responsibility either. Indeed, his plan was to sneak or break into House Dragana and somewhat aggressively speak with the baroness. Magik offers to set up a meeting and subtly chaperone it. That second part of the offer isn't something Blue is particularly thrilled about. The assassin pouts a bit and doesn't accept or deny this offer, but it is clear he is interested in having a talk with Tessa. "What do you know about her? Er, how do you know her? Did Lar really make her a vampire?" That last question boils down to, 'is that my blood in her veins?' "Why do you care if we fight or not?"

Magik holds his right wrist with his left hand infront of him. The Lyastri's body temperature quickly rises to plume off a small bit of black smoke. Frostmaw's harsh temperature was starting to get to him. It'd be terrible to catch a cold out here. "Quintessa came to the Mage's Tower soon after I was offered the position of Auxilia Veneficus. I've been one of her mentors ever since and she's become a close friend of mine. I do not know for sure if she is a true Dragana or not. She sure as hell looks like she was turned. That entire situation went on while I was between these lands and my home, Sylo Alari." Magik shrugs, "I just don't want to see unnecessary bloodshed is all. She might have proven herself on the field of battle over and over again but," the elf looks around for any Unseen Hand who may have been positioned in this particular part of Frostmaw, "she's not quite on your level yet. Close, but not yet." "So what do you say, old friend?"

Shishi wrinkles his nose. He's seen Quintessa in her Titan fights and has a fairly good idea of what he's dealing with. He's perhaps less convinced of his own advantage over the changeling than his friend is. Magik presses the issue of his offer and Blue slumps his shoulders, "Aye. Fine. Set it up. I can't make any promises though." He tilts his head and explains, "If she's a Dragana..." He pauses because damn he hates that he is the origin point of that House, "If she's a Dragana, Kas isn't a vampire anymore, and Lar is gone... Then Quintessa and Vailkrin are my responsibility. If I don't like what I hear, maybe things won't go down then and there, but I'm not going to let her continue what Lar was doing and run that city into the ground." His own eyes do some kind of magical flicker that sees them turn a glowing red for about half a second, which never a sign of calm from the vampire, "I don't want you to get in the way if it comes to that."

Magik nods his head respectfully, taking notice of his flickering eyes. "Let's just let cooler heads prevail and we'll get this all sorted, yeah?" Magik warmly smiles. Because..smoke and such, "It was good seeing you, Shish. I mean that. And maybe we can have a drink soon to discuss your ailment.." Magik hints at Shishi's vampirism by touching his regular sized k-9 with his tongue, "..if you want. Or just a drink. Either way.." The pyromancer offers a non-smoking hand towards the vampire.

Shishi takes his friend's hand and shakes it firmly, "Aye. A drink will be nice." He does his best to hide the fact that he is still cranky about both Magik and Kasyr once again drawing breath, leaving him to be a blood sucker with Quintessa -Dragana- of all people, but it is on his face plain as day in the form of a forced smile. It is that sense of responsibility that he just talked about that will have him refusing the offer of becoming human again. He still has something he must do, something a human lifespan won't give him the time to accomplish. It must be nice for the tieflings and the elves to have that longevity without becoming cursed like this, but for Shishi, if he had never been turned, he'd be an old man already.

Magik returns the gesture before taking a step back, "A drink shall be had then. Expect a note soon, old friend. Be safe." Shishi's expressions didn't go unnoticed. Magik might have to poke at that next time. Once again, a smile was offered to the vampire before he makes that super cool black flying smoke exit into the frigid sky and off towards Kelay.
