RP:Seeking Kyperion

From HollowWiki

Synopsis: After falling victim to the Nathali soul pendant, Larewen confronts Nowfaleena in an attempt to discern Kyperion's whereabouts.

Outside Kelay Tavern

Nowfaleena was, after her encounter with Kyperion, returning to her bungalow. It was slow, cautious going. Though the house was just a short distance away, she had to be careful, lest one of the vampires from the previous night follow her. She had no intention of being hunted down in her own home. Tufted ears twitched atop her head, and vivid greens shifted to peer through the fading light. She had to be especially careful here, as she was crossing in front of the tavern, where she had seen those two female vampires that scared her so.

Larewen stepped out of the taverne just as the feline neared it, though the aura that emanated from her corrupted body would likely be felt long before her shadow was seen. The air itself, manipulated with that darkness, pushed open the door for the woman. Her hands were curled into her skirt, hoisting its emerald hem off the ground as she stepped carefully. Still, she was ever the lady, yet entirely a monster. Once the door had swung shut, her chin lifted slightly and her nostrils flared.

Nowfaleena halted. She recognized that powerful sense of darkness. Even for one not sensitive to magics, it was chilling. This was one of the vampiresses from the other night! Her fur bristled, and she slunk into position against the tavern wall, hoping the shadows would hide her. She could tell the vampiric woman had caught her scent though. Barely breathing, not moving a muscle, the feline still tried to hide. It was worth a shot at least.

Larewen smirked. The expression curled across her lips slowly. A soft peal of laughter left her mouth and her head lowered. A finger twitched and the dark energy at her command shifted, slowly crawling along the ground as it sought the feline. Not to harm her, though. Not yet, at least. "Why do you hide from me, little kitten?" she called softly.

Nowfaleena had to bite back a growl at being called kitten. She hated that. But the sound would give away her location...not that the vampire didn't already know where she was. She could feel the darkness closing in on her, slowly, but steadily. Ears pinned back against her hair, and her fur stood on end. Stepping out from the shadows, she decided it would be better to show herself than wait for the darkness to reach her and do gods know what. She tried not to visibly tremble, not wanting her fright to show. But it was impossible to smooth down her bristled fur.

Larewen grinned as the feline stepped into her sight. Though "grin" seemed to nice of a word for the way that expression looked on that pale, black-veined face. The dark sorceress moved toward her then, seeking to invade her personal space. Should Nowfaleena not recoil, then Larewen would extend a gloved hand hand to curl beneath her chin. Were she of a more motherly sort, than the action might have seemed fond. Given the circumstances, it'd be understandable if one thought the woman a creeper. "No need to shake, kitten. I've no intentions of harming you," she cooed, quietly.

Nowfaleena took half a step back as the woman stepped too close, not out of reach of that hand, not a full retreat, but a sign of her discomfort, "Then just what are your intentions?" She spoke in almost a hiss, wanting so badly to just turn tail and run...knowing that there was no pace quick enough to escape a vampire. Vivid greens reflected the dying light as she looked at the veiled woman, waiting for an answer.

Larewen found a sort of delight in the other's discomfort. So much so that she stepped with the feline. Her head dipped toward her, "Tonight? I seek information. Next time? We'll have to see about that." She inhaled with those words, sniffing Nowfaleena once more. Her aura drew closer to them then, rising and curling around the pair.

Nowfaleena bristled and tried to pull back. She didn't like having this vampiress so close to her. "What sort of information?" She growled out, gaze narrowing on the woman. What could the caracal possibly know that this dark creature didn't? Luminescent greens dropped to take in the amulet the vampiric female wore. Oh...she'd seen those before. The death cult Kyperion and she had fought wore those. She tensed further. This was definitely not good.

Larewen squeezed the feline's chin when her words were growled out, as if in warning. "I'm looking for a man," she said at last, when she saw the feline looking to the amulet around her neck. "I've seen you in the taverne before, so I imagine you might have heard of him. Kyperion." The words are hissed quietly.

Nowfaleena hissed at that squeeze to her chin, "Never heard of him." She spat out, "Now if you'll let me be on my way..." Kyperion was a member of Kutumb...the clan the caracal was trying to establish. She regarded him as family, and wasn't about to sell him out so easily.

Larewen released the feline's chin, drawing back with a fanged sneer. The energy around her thickened. So much so that one might find it stifling - like a hot room in the summer. Her dark eyes remained fixed on Nowfaleena in a way that could only be described as predatorial. "Not at all?" she questioned, a faint hint of incredulity in her tone. Thoughtfully, her gaze swept the area.

Nowfaleena drew a ragged breath as the mana grew dense, making it harder to breath easily, "Not. At. All." She punctuated each word, her posture straightening as she tried to seem less frightened. Her tail flicked behind her, and she forced her ears into an upright position.

Larewen drew the energy back toward herself then, quite suddenly. The air would lighten and breathing would once again be easy as an her sneer slid into an amused smirk once more. "I see," she said at length. "Then who would you suggest I ask?" There was a twinkle in her eyes, behind that veil. A twinkle that suggested the woman was thinking of something. Perhaps not for tonight, but definitely something she'd consider next she crossed paths with the feline.

Nowfaleena shrugged, trying to seem nonchalant, "How should I know." She drew a deep breath, now that she was able, and breathed it out in a sigh, "Like I said, I never heard of the man. So I don't know who would know him." She twitched her ears and tail. She didn't really like the way the woman spoke. Almost too calmly, and she had given up very easily too. Something told the feline this would not be the last time they met...and that she would not be getting off so easily the next time.

Larewen lifted her chin then. "Very well," was all that she left the feline with. She had no desire to threaten the feline's life this night, though next time Nowfaleena wouldn't be privy to the same treatment. Especially if the dark sorceress found out differently. She didn't like liars, after all. Without another word, she's departed and only traces of that aura linger in her wake.

Nowfaleena breathed a sigh of relief as the vampiress left. She looked about, in desperate need of a drink. Perhaps she could dare enter the tavern...she didn't want to return home just then. Not if there was a chance Larewen would be trailing her.
