Part of the Vakmatharas' Jar Arc

Summary: Brennia shows Aevo where he’ll be working.

Brennia’s Room

This space of the castle is most private and not many get to see it anymore. This section of marble is covered in a thin layer of black onyx stone accented in gold and platinum, but no spare in opulence. Her own california king size bed centered against a wall sitting up a few steps, built out of dark oak and dressed in burgundy bedding and canopy curtains. This room having it’s own fireplace between it and the large washroom and thick curtains to block out the sun from all of the windows including the stained glass balcony door. A couple of elegantly plush love seats, a coffee table, and a wet bar adorn the opposite end of the room.

Brennia spent most of her Sunday doing some background research on the undercover students that died from the weekend’s attack after checking in on the wounded students and making sure they were okay. At dinner if Aevo was still hanging around he would get a note send to his table from the staff that instructs him to meet Brennia at her room and his tour would start from there. If obliged and if he entered her room since he likes to make himself at home he would find her at her personal desk, dressed similar to how she looked when she ate with them the previous night, but with a pair of spectacles on her nose so she can read up close. Four inch red bottom heels lay haphazardly next to the legs of the desk as if they were kicked off in haste and all of her hair was pulled up into a nice twist, save for a strand or two around her face. She seemed to be on a mission today and if the lycan had stuck around he might have caught glimpses of her in passing throughout the day, tending to the wounded and being supportive of hysterical students. She probably wouldn’t even look up unless his presence was announced.

Sidd | A gentle knock preceded Aevo's entrance, the large burly man stepping into the room just far enough to spot Brennia. He looked around for the other familiar face, a bit disappointed to see that she was all alone. It wasn't like it was a bad thing. Hardly. He just hadn't seen Sidd all day, despite telling the guy to look for him after he took a bath. And while he had seen Brennia here and there, Sidd never once was spotted throughout the day. Maybe the night previous really wore him out? Or perhaps he just needed time alone. No matter, he was here for a matter of importance. "Aye, lass. How're ye this eve'? Got yer message." Two inked arms came to fold over his chest as he studied the woman from head to toe with those wolven ice blue eyes.

Brennia looked up after taking her reading glasses from her face, “Aevo. I’m well and getting to the bottom of things. How are you finding the campus?” She stands and smooths her waist high pencil skirt down before slipping back into her high heels which make her pretty much even with his height. Shamelessly and confidently meeting his gaze in return. She runs a hand through her hair, “of course you understand this is my sleeping quarters and through those double doors is the balcony to my room.” She brushes past him, gently, and makes her way back out of the room to the corridor beyond, “this whole wing is restricted to students. The only people that are allowed up here have a key and those are usually held by close friends of mine, professors, or bard’s guild members.” She pulls free a musical note key and holds it out for him, “as security, you need one.” She continued on and out to the second floor of the main hall, “this of course is the main all and on this level,” she speaking of the balcony which overlooks the first floor, “are the classrooms and lecture halls. While there are few below as well this is where most of them are.” She starts off again in front of him and those heels are probably giving him a great view from back there. “Around this way,” she was walking toward the peak of the oval shaped room to a group of interior windows and doors which look into an office where he could see miss Dewfoot-Barrows working, “professor offices are through a hallway past the counselor. There is also a professor’s lounge to which you can help yourself to… This way,” she pivots and makes her way down the stairs the hug the curve of the wall, “here students mingle, put on shows or plays for one another. Some opt to study here or sit by the fire when it gets cold, but it’s mainly just a large common area.” She walks through french windowed doors to the courtyard which is two times as vast as the main hall. The cobblestoned area has a variety of tables and in a corner some training dummies while the other side has easels for painting, but beyond the cobblestone is a picturesque array of gardens like a mixture of the topiary and jubilant ones leading to the castle. “This is the courtyard for more leisure, training or painting. This is where you and I’ll conduct self defense classes. Somewhere beyond the garden there is a small greenhouse and the staff’s own living quarters.” She stops and looks up at the night sky for a second, “do you have any questions before we move on?”

SiDD | Aevo settled into a more serious tone; After all that happened today, he decided that it might have been for the best if he didn't crack jokes this evening. Not now, at least. "I find it well, thank ye. yer staff are very accomodating n' the building itself is quite marvelous. In all me years in this land, I'm surprised I ain't found this place sooner." As they started the tour, he shut his mouth, keen eye jotting down places and information of interest on his mental note pad. The key, when offered, was taken carefully, a quick glance over its features before it was slipped away into the front pocket of his satchel. The first major stop, the balcony, he would place both hands on the rail and look down below, watching various students or staff coming and going about their daily business. he tried to snatch mental visions of their faces, testing his memory as they went. When she started her lead, Aevo tried his damndest not to let the hound in him take control. You can say what you want about the guy, but when he put his mind to it, he could actually come off like a decent person. Dewfoot was afforded a nod should she look up from her work, the map in his mind updated shortly after she offered more information. Down the stairs the pair traveled, the common area looked upon with some semblance of admiration. As they entered the courtyard and came to a stop, Aevo folded his arms over his chest as he had in her room, most of his scope focused on the training area itself. It should do fairly well, he thought. When she posed her queston, he finally spoke. "A couple. First, in th' private area, where th' students ain't welcome, how many do y'have comin' and goin'? I will need a list o' names n' functions on the campus. Second, are there hours that student n' staff are under curfew? Or are there places the students n' staff aren't s'pposed to be in at certain hours? This'll help me get n' idea of how this place operates t'help ye's better."

Brennia was quiet in thought for a moment, but they would find the dim street lamp lights romantic in a way, but most of all peaceful, “some people I’ve given them to aren’t around anymore. There is Professors Zuf, Wittley, Noetal, Valios, Alex, and Lanara. You will meet most of them tomorrow. Guild members Alan, Alvina, Celandine, Raphaline. And a couple of my friends, Artia and Hudson. Exes Daermon, Eloni…. And possibly also Wisax.” She said with a touch of disappointment in her expression. “As for curfews… We are all adults here so no, most of them respect each other and their space. The kitchens shut down after dinner, but if people need a snack there is always bowls of fruit here or there to pick from. If there are any other questions let me know while we walk,” she motions for him to come along and they are back into the main hall where the kitchen and dining area is divided by a winding staircase that goes down. “Here of course is the kitchen and dining hall. Through the archway there,” she motions passed the kitchen area, “that’s where the secret passage to the wine cellar is and some more washrooms which typically go without much use seeing as every student has their own in their dorm rooms. I’ll show you those,” liberty blue eyes look him up and down, “if you haven’t already seen them.” She starts walking down the spiral staircase until they are in another common room of sorts, but every wall is covered in books and study nooks while it’s dead quiet down here. “This area leads off in four different directions. Each corridor houses different sized rooms for all types of races. I sure do hope you won’t need to come down here too often,” she smirks before making her way back up the staircase first. “Do you need to see one of the classrooms?”

Sidd| A slip of parchment was soon produced with a piece of graphite, each name spoken jotted down in a sloppy fashion. He wanted to make sure he got everyone that he could. "Well after last night, i'd consider limitin' certain wings after certain hours. Try n' keep everyone within better view, if'n ye get me drift." A moment was taken to admire the peaceful and lovely scenery in the dimly lit street lamps, and from time to time, the wily wolf couldn't help but to steal a few glances over Brennia's sultry form. "Aye, I recall." he replied when they finally reached the kitchen area, and then when mention was made of the dorms, he finally broke that serious tone and grinned at the avian sheepishly. "A gentlemen ain't gon' kiss n' tell." Then as they traversed the spiral staircase, he took those words in and checked out each corridor, finally replying to her last question, "Might be a good idea, sure, lass."

Brennia mentions, “I’ll show you my classroom,” as she made her way back up to the second floor and unlocks her own classroom with a key when she mentions, “I’m sure we can whip up a master key for all the doors aside from the restricted wing,” she opened the door and let him follow behind her to close the door behind them or not. At their presence the firefly sconces alight for them and she makes her way down to her desk at the bottom of the classroom that was in the fashion of a lecture hall where each row is raised a step. “There are two classrooms like this, but the rest are smaller in size, more on the average side.” She walks up to the black chalkboard that seems to occupy the whole wall behind her desk and pulls up on a handle which reveals what was behind it. Wall to wall books, but when she pulled on one a mechanism unlocked, “mine is the only one that is close enough to the restricted wing of this.” She pulled open a section of the self like a door it swung outward and revealed a secret set of stairs that go up a little bit. “This leads back up to my own room. In the event of an emergency. You should know all the secret passageways… At least most of them.” She gave a cheeky kind of smirk.

Sidd | Aevo grins and drops his head into a nod when she mentions a master key. "That'd be great, thank ye. Does the campus have a large security staff?" He allows the door to gently click behind him, a few steps taken around the room as he appreciates the overall design of the room. When the hidden wall was revealed, he was awfully impressed; That is, until she revealed then actual an actual secret passageway back to her room."let's hope we never need t'use it in an emergency.." he stated, before tossing out his own bit of humor. "Although, it could come in handy!" There was a bit of a subtle, yet joking wink as he made approach, peeking his head through the opening to get a better view. "I take it there be few o' these things around the place?"

Brennia shrugged, “you’d be the first. As I stated there is supposed to be an enchantment over the castle to anyone meaning harm to those inside would not be able to find it.” She let out a short and soft chuckle, “it could come in handy. Yeah.” She slowly shut it back into place when he was done examining it. “There’s the hidden cellar and this one, I’ll show you more when they come to mind.” She suddenly realized they are alone for the first time and she pours herself some water from the pitcher on her desk before sitting on the top of the desk, “you have anymore questions. Ideas? Concerns?” She stares down into the clear liquid within her glass and a head heavy with thoughts. “If someone we’re to tell me I would be running a college, but cannot even protect myself without the help of some alpha male and be drowning in a mixture of self doubt and insecurities… I’d tell that someone to phaque off.” She sort of thought out loud before sipping some water down, still unable to look directly at him. That damn Raven.

Sidd | Aevo scratches at the stubble on his chin as he thinks things over. "That's fine methinks. I can make it work." He turned finally to face the woman who was now seated upon her desk, a couple steps forward taken so that he didn't have to speak so loudly. Before he could ask any questions or state any concerns, her own admission caused his gaze to fixate. He spoke then, words trying their damndest to be reassuring. "Listen, luv. You know why many great leaders fell? Why so many kings, queens, n' tyrants no longer sit in power? 'Cause they try t'take on too much by themselves. They trust no one t'help 'em. There ain't nothin' ever wrong with admittin' that sometimes, ye need someone by yer side to help ya run things. Believe me. I've seen it first hand. It's why we be livin' in a more prosperous time. Why all those bastards of the past are now rottin' six feet under. They tried t'take on th' world themselves." Tribal inked shoulders rise and fall casually. "I ain't know ye long, but obviously yer capable. Yer runnin' a damn institution. A large one. N' from what I see, you're well respected n' loved by students n' staff alike. Cut yerself some slack, aye?"

Brennia takes her glasses off an glances up at him with a half smile. “That makes a lot of sense, Aevo. Are you getting soft on me already?” She then made herself look at him with a look of slight confusion, “from what you see?” She had been so busy today, practically worked to the bone with reassuring students, being a shoulder to cry on and taking statements. If he’d seen her then she probably didn’t notice and that was more than likely a good thing. Then she realized she hasn’t seen Sidd all day and then she really felt like the worst. She raised her glass, but missed and water spilled right down into the v cut if her blouse, “merde!” She hissed while trying to smooth the water off her chest and she looks around for some spare cloth, but there is none. A shrug, “it’s just water, but that makes sense this day would end like this.” She let out another soft and short chuckle.

Sidd | Aevo snickers and shakes his head, "Soft? Me? never. Ain't nothin' soft 'bout me, lass." Her confusion was soon met with explanation. "Aye. While ye were makin' yerself busy t'day, I kind of kept tabs now n' again. I could tell by the way ye interacted with everyone, that they look up t'ye. I might have also asked around a bit, and fer the most part, it was all positive." A nod in afformation; Stern and serious. That wouldn't last long, though. Not when she spilled water into her cleavage and began to try and wipe it away. "Woof." he mumbled before coming to the rescue! From one of the pockets of his satchel, he removed a silken handkerchief, offering it up with a grin, "Hah, aye, but at least it's nearly over!"

Brennia let out a rare raspy giggle at his poor choice in words at first. Then his words turn serious and sweet causing her to blush, really, it seems compliments to her being are more flattering than to her looks… most times. “Really?” She was beaming a brilliant smile. That one that pokes dimples in caramel cheeks and melts the ice on hearts. The smile really changed her whole face, making her seem younger and more vibrant than she’s been around him before…. It’s hard to believe she was that manic on a mission last night. She quirked a brow up to him when he handed her something to help with her spill, her fingertips accidentally grazing his hand when she accepts it, “oh, thanks… Yes… Nearly.” She dabs the water from her skin and tries to soak up the amount on her blouse after setting the glass down, but honestly the cool water is as a welcome reprieve from the nagging of Raven and it was only worse when he gets closer.

Sidd | Aevo laughs, "Aye, really. An' I know that some o' th' boyos can't keep their eyes off'o ye. I mean, where were dem teachers lookin' like yerself when i was a lad?" Both brow were sent into a coy wiggle, an obvious and emphasized scoping of the woman from the top of her head down to her toe. She was technically his boss. He should behave, but damn it, the hound could never help himself. He watched while she wiped away the water, fighting his urge to place himself on a one way train to fired town. His lips parted and his next words soon took a different course of action. "So eh, gotta ask- since y'know, we've all gotten t'know one another n' all... What's up with yerself n' Sidd?" There's a bit of a smirk, and he moves closer, this time using the edge of the desk to lean against. "You two a thing, or what? I be seein' how y'look at th' guy. Or, how y'didn't this morn'. I mean, it ain't none o' my business, but I thought I'd ask for curiosity sake, aye?"

Brennia stares ahead at nothing in particular. “Now, now Aevo, these students aren’t lads. I hope they are all adults and can separate infatuation or lust from their work,” She gave him a certain look when he was checking her out, as if to say she hopes he could do the same. She’s had no issues turning students down, though. “Have you seen him at all today?” She looked a little bummed out, but answers his question, “I guess it’s like he said. I’m a good friend. I’m one of his best friends.” She glances to Aevo our the side of her eye while handing his kerchief back to him with a half, forced, smile, “thanks for that. I might have died with that water all over my décolletage.” She caressed her own cleavage/neck area in her joke, but dammit he might think she has a stupid fever something. She crosses one leg over the other and she thinks ‘nooo, I need to stand up.’ A shrug, “so I guess it doesn’t matter how I do or don’t look at him. We’re friends?” She idly felt the tattoo at her side over the cover of the shirt, but forced her hands back down.

Sidd | Aevo laughs at the woman's observation, yet settled at her questioning of Sidd's whereabouts. "Ain't seen hide nor hair o' him t'day. He ain't been downstairs that I saw, and when I checked on'im before our tour, he weren't in his room. Probably went out fer some air or somethin', y'think?" His head lists slightly to the side as she goes into an explanation of their relationship. "One o' his best friends, eh?" he gave a very skeptical look to that idea, especially how she seemed to bit disappointed before delving into the topic. With the handkerchief handed back, he tucks the thing back into his satchel, a quick shift stance taking the single strap back off of his chest so that he may set it upon the floor. "As usual, th' big bad wolf saves th' day!" he teased. Two thumbs hooked the edge if the kilt on either side of his hips, an idle stance as he continues speaking to the avian. "Uh huh." he speaks to her with one brow lifted. "Whatever ye wanna tell yerself, lass." That grin slipped over his lips as he made an attempt, "Does this mean yer available, then?" He leaned forward again, nostrils flared as once more he felt that familiar scent of freshly rained forest infiltrated his senses. He looked a little wanton, and tried his best to charm the woman, although given her heightened position, she may not be the kind to fall for it so easily.

Brennia slipped off the edge of the desk and eliminated the space between them with him still leaning against her desk. He would feel she’s very pliable and her skin his quite warm just as her wings fold around the Lycan, trapping him in his favorite scent, but most importantly he’d see glimmers of greens and blues within them and their velvety appearance begging for touch. Long slender fingers found their way through his hair while deep blues look far into his own eyes as plump lips shape into a smirk, but the bottom one trapped between perfect teeth. She leaned into him as if she were going for a kiss, but changed course to whisper into his ear, “even so. You couldn’t handle me.” She quickly folds her wings back to herself and backed away from him while one hand takes its time slipping from his cheek gently. “I’ve warned you… Thick book,” she winks at him now before she pivots to start to make her way toward the exit of the room at a leisurely sauntering pace.

Sidd | Aevo was grinning from ear to ear now, chest puffed out when those feathered extensions of her frame came to cascade around them both. Icy hues tasted those glimmers of greens and blues, his arms coming to fold around the woman's waist in a firm embrace. When she moved inward for what he assumed would be a passionate kiss, he closed his eyes and held his breath, only to feel that sweet whisper played upon his drum. Her words caused his lids to snap open, just in time to see her backing away. He feigns a look of disappointment, even though that grin still remained. He turned then to watch her exit, his held breath released into a drawn out sigh, eyes glued to her rear. He would speak only when she was nearly gone, a single word of defeat- "Woof..." It would take a few moments before Aevo finally collects himself and gathers his bag, taking his own exit from the classroom.
