RP:Search and Circle of Minotaurs

From HollowWiki

Kuiai starts his journey into the swamps of Gualon after having a few drinks at the local bar and catching up on some rest. He made sure his ears were clean shaven and the Chief crest tattoos were visible to aid him in his finding of the minotaurs. He dresses in his full armor, black as night and spiked all over and belts his weapons to his waist. A small pouch is strung to his belt, holding potions of healing and other remedies to keep him healthy while traveling the swamps.

The swamps are hot and humid but the minotaurs keeps his armor on and double checks his water to make sure it isn't leaking. He takes a deep breath and heads into the swamps without a look back. This needs to be done and he wanted it so bad. A new light seems to burn within the bull man, a fire of rage burns in his heart and shows in his eyes.

Fog is noticed toward the west side of the swamps while the east seems lighter and more traveled. The minotaurs are not seen often so the path with the fog would be the way to go, so Kuiai continues on, stopping for a drink of water and piece of bread and cheese to keep him somewhat fed. His sword is drawn as he hair on the back of his thick bull like neck stands on end. Something is stalking him in the waters and it made him uneasy.

Sword slashes down and across, even jabs down a few times. An ancient creature, an alligator has attacked Kuiai and with a struggle to kill the creature, the last stab killed the beast and sent Kuiai running through the foggy swamps. Eventually he come to a halt, bending over and holding his sides. a few gulps of water are consumed an a whole loaf of bread is eaten to help him regain his stamina and health and the will to move on and find his brother tribe.

Dry ground is found and Kuiai sets up camp to rest for the night, making sure his weapons are kept close. He sleeps sitting up, and he gets to sleep finally after several hours of being woken up by strange noises. Morning comes and he stretches and consumes a bit of water and some food to get his day started.

Kuiai rubs his sweating brow after several hours and he comes across a string that has been tied and strung up. He tilts his head with curiosity as well as a bit of fear. It was strange. It wasn't natural for something like this to be in the swamps. He decides to follow it, walking through the swamp with a hand on this string. Paths are made clearer and small flags with strange markings come into view.

Fences have been built and thrown up around a large clearing for protection as well as a warning. He stops at a small gate and just stands there looking over the gate, his heart pounding in hopes that he has found his people here in the swamps. He takes several steps back and regains himself a few times before he even makes an attempt to get through the gate.

The cry of a bull carries through the swamp and trees, but it gains him access to the fenced off tribe. He isn't exactly welcomed fully as the guards walk around him and examine the larger minotaur. He stands up tall and lifts his head high, allows his weapons to be taken and after all of this, he bows to them all, "I come from Larket, seeking the Gualon minotaurs. I have two proposals to ask of your chief and his circle. I just ask that all of you give me the time to speak and if you do not like what I have to say and offer, I will leave without begging or causing problems."

Kuiai is taken in to see the Chief who welcomes him with a hug and seat on the floor were the rest of the circle has been asked to join them. The other minotaurs leave after being asked and the chief speaks up, "Young Kuiai. It has been many years since I have seen you last. You have grown strong and your father must be a proud man. Come, speak and tell us what is it you have on your mind. It is rare that we ever get word or a visit from the head tribe."

"First off, I have come on my own terms. I seek to take my fathers place as head minotaur and become the minotaur high king. I am traveling around to gain favor and recognition from the rulers of the different regions. I aim to have our people recognized and seen as a people and not monsters the stories and myths say about us." Kuiai speaks this and the circle and chief nod their head, then he speaks to Kuiai, "This is a mighty task to take on. It isn't custom for a son to follow in his fathers steps, but to go the extra step to change how the world sees us has never been done. We do not have youngling's of our own, so I safely speak for the tribe here, that you have our blessing and our vote. Our hope for our race lies with you now."

A prayer of thanks is sent up to Aramoth, for allowing this position to be given to Kuiai without a second thought. He bows to the group from his sitting position, then together he has them give thanks to Aramoth as well as ask for his blessing to get the prince through this journey to help their race. "My second proposal has something to do with the warlord Eboric," he states much to the dislike of the others. Their snorts and sneers told Kuiai that they wanted nothing to do with Gualon or the world outside of the swamps. He sighs and hold his hand up, to have his moment of speech. "My brothers, listen to me. I am aiming and striving for the greater good of our people. I need you to work with me on this. Let the world see us in a different light, starting with us! Join me and Eboric's warband, and the change will happen and it will start with all of you, not just me. We need your help. I need your help and the head tribe is reluctant to join, but with all of you and the rest of the tribe, they will come to the aid when it is needed and our race will see a better light!"

Several minutes to an hour go by as the circle talks with one another. Kuiai walks back and forth outside waiting patiently to hear what the council has decided. He sits down eventually and waits and waits. He converses with the other minotaurs and tells them of the life in Larket and that he has been traveling and what his plans are. He jokes around with them and they look in awe at his size and strength.

"Lord Kuiai, you may come in now," the chief calls through a flap in the tent. He bows to them all before he sits and crosses his legs and waits patiently. A guard comes in, and gives him his weapons back, and watches Kuiai strap them back to his belt then leaves. "Kuiai, we just don't see how joining with a warband is going to help us. You want to make us better people, but fighting doesn't seem like it will give us the new light you have talked about and promised." Kuiai was about to interrupt, but the chief held his hand up sternly, "But... but, we have sworn fealty to you and granted you to be the next high king. We will gladly follow you and do as you ask of us. We will aid this warband, but we will not give our lives to it. We have our own worries to worry about."

Tattooed ears listen carefully to the words of this chief. He understood what he was asking of them and he knew they had their own problems as well as fears and concerns. But the fact that he is the next high king, he had them on his side and they would do as he asked on behalf of his father. "Thank you. I cannot ask more of you. This is a start and I appreciate the time you have given me to speak with you. I assure you that no problems will come your way. I will try my best to keep everyone in the light, and a new dawn will befall the minotaur people. But I have one more thing to ask, I have traveled a long ways, through a land I am not familiar or use to being in, around or moving through. May I rest up for a few days before venturing back to the city?" He is of course granted this last wish, and they show him off to an empty tent, where he is given privacy and some little luxuries such as a pillow and blankets, a bowl of water and loincloth, made with the finest materials they tribe could offer. The loincloth is for sleeping or swimming, even to wear everyday when the clothes of the normal humans is not desired. It doesn't take him long to fall asleep and he will do his best to learn the customs and the ways of the Gualon tribe while he is here. Even pitch in to help, so he isn't a burden on the small group of minotaurs. Little does he know that Asailu is kept hostage here, as their prisoner and he will have to spend a few more days here, convincing the minotaurs to let her go.
