RP:Roldan becomes a Lord

From HollowWiki

Roldan sits at the bar, contemplating the scarred wood before him. A glass of juice stands before him, but he seems to be largely ignoring it for now.

Jacklin steps into the surprisingly sparse tavern with face free of armor and hands unbound by leather wrappings. With a purpose in step she turns to the bar where the backside of one familiar knight pokes out amongst the other ruffians. Shortly she hopped onto a stool at his side the queen levels elbow against wood before speaking, "Somehow I knew you'd be here. Lucky I am since I have a few items you might find of value here in my hands," with that a folded piece of paper was unfurled and waved for dramatics sake.

Roldan turns at once to face the queen, saluting her crisply before squinting at the paper, attempting to catch sight of the writings thereon. "Regrettably, this establishment is the best place for learning new things, getting wind of new dangers. But what is this then, my queen?" The knight's voice is as flat as ever, as though he had not, just a few days past, tortured a woman nearly to death.

Jacklin posts the paper flat after waving it tauntingly for a few moments further. It was far too early for games, but it was rare she got to deliver good news in her position. "No blame for sitting in this tavern. I frequent the place myself in the evening when all is settled in Larket." Sliding the paper in front of Roldan she directs his attention there with a wave of her hand, "A deed the patrons of Larket allowed me to hand over. Not that I needed their approval, but I did need their expertise on land development. That is the land deed to an area above the Vibrance." Finagling a hand within her armor she fished a small velvet box and placed it atop the deed, "And this is a brooch of Lordship."

Roldan's brows rise for a moment, before he can control them, betraying his surprise. He reaches out to grasp the items, turning them over and over in his hand. "My queen," he says, in a most pleased voice. "You honor me. You have my oath, once again, that I will serve Larket to my last breath, as Sheriff, and as Lord." The newly made lord's voice is quite fervent, as he rises from his seat to sink to one knee before the queen.

Jacklin didn't deny the half-grin slipping along her lips as she caught the pleased attitude of Roldan in the face of this gift. Though it was more a gift to Jack than anything else, she so enjoyed this part of the job, and as Roldan lowered she rose to her feet. As she'd grown accustomed to doing in political situations, fingertips were pressed with a kiss and planted on the forehead of the Red Knight, plated or not, before returned to her side. "You've honored Larket more than most, Roldan. You may use all you need in the forest to build on your land. The workers there will await your call. I expected nothing less from you and I'm pleased to have made the right call." Slipping from between stool and kneeled knight she turned to exit, "Enjoy your day, Lord Roldan." Another quick grin was issued before the queen walked right on out.

Roldan rises, bowing as his queen leaves the building. Proudly, he dons the brooch, and sets about thinking of a lordly-sounding surname to take.
